  • The Anet ET4 firmware has an upgrade available. A few steps to remember. Make sure you have the ET4. It does not work with any other models. You may brick your machine... be careful. Anet makes it very clear in the steps that it is on you if things go bad.
    Formatting the original card or using a high-quality SD card is also on the list.

    Hi, I have bought mine yesterday, so I'm waiting for it, I've watched some of your videos about this machine and i really appreciate your help making them. My question is what are the advantages of this update.

      I am not sure what 1.1.5 really helped. Maybe it could read the sd card without powering it off. I ended up moving to Marlin 2.

    Good night dear!
    I went to update the firmware of my Anet ET4+ printer to version 3.0.0 and ended up making the printer unusable.
    The displey was blank, is there a way to fix this problem?

    Hi.
    Can i use 1.1.7 fw on ET4 which doest have auto leveling sensor so the regular first version of ET4 without capacitive sensor.. I have now the first 1.10 fw version. I m wondering will my ET4 start to go home at bottom if i upgrade to 1.1.7FW? as i have stock end switch on z axis only at the top. Do i need end switch hardware modification if i upgrade to 1.1.7 fw as it will start to go home to the bottom or it will still go to the the top at home position? I dont want to use any auto level function but want to use M503 and other gcode to setup estep calibration which only supported by the 1.1.7fw.
    Thanks

    I know its old but I bought an et5x and swapped out to the silent board. I go to update the firmware and it loads to 88% and then flashes white and resets. Any help?

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Swapping boards most likely means you would need to edit the firmware before you flash it. I do not have the skills to mod the firmware. You may find someone in the Marlin Discord that has them though. It may even be easy... it is just not in my skill set.

      @@DubandJub3DPrints Ah, but when you start swapping components you need to make the firmware match the components. Like dropping a chevy engine in a Subaru... you are going to have to tweak stuff to get it to work.

      @@DubandJub3DPrints Sorry, it does not work like that. It would be as if the computer code for a Chevy Tahoe was the same as a Chevy Cruz. There are different parts in the silent board so the silent board requires a different code.

    It doesn't matter if you mess it up because Anet doesn't honor their warranties anyway.

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thankfully I’ve never had to use the warranty system. I know everything I bought overseas it was slow to get support. My usual go to was Facebook groups because you can get replies they’re pretty darn quick. I do like how easy it is to bring one back to life with a ST link adapter.

    • @vinnyboombots8270

      @@HLModTech I bought mine on Ebay from an Anet distributor back in October and when I opened the box I noticed the warranty sticker was hanging off so someone obviously opened it at some point in time. I messaged them and told them my concerns and they assured me that it's under warranty and any problems to let them know. I was too busy with work and other stuff at the time so I waited till after the holidays to finally assemble it and start using it. Right from the start I was having problems with it. The print head was arcing inside due to faulty wiring and the main board is very problematic. Don't know if it's the board or the firmware. None the less, it has issues to this day and it is under warranty. I messaged them several time informing them about the issues I was having and they haven't responded to this day. I contacted Ebay and they basically told me that I waited too long to use it but as I explained to them that it has a one year warranty and it is within the one year. If it was junk in October than it would be junk in February as well as it will be junk in June. It is within the warranty service time. Customer service at Ebay are the most brain dead people I have ever dealt with. So here I am with a basically useless printer that's under warranty that Anet is apparently not going to do anything about and I'm out $170. Will never buy another Anet product again. I actually picked up 3 printers on FB marketplace for $60 for all three. 2 Ender 3's and an Anet A8.Ender 3's work great but the Anet is being sold for parts because I want nothing to do with their products.

    • @HLModTech

      Sorry for your frustration. I liked that I could easily flash with the ST-link th-cam.com/video/mAmIbrGi6G8/w-d-xo.html Popping Marlin on them was pretty slick. Really cool you landed a couple Ender 3's. I have one that is a workhorse for me.

    • @vinnyboombots8270
      @vinnyboombots8270 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it's been pretty frustrating to say the least. I have a couple questions if you don't mind and you seem to be very knowledgeable . I have a BTT SKR V1.4 turbo that came out of the Anet A8 that I got with the two Ender 3's. Do you know if that is compatibly with the Anet ET5X and or the Ender 3. And second, are the Anet A8 parts compatible with the ET5X, meaning the PSU and the print head/hot end as well as the stepper motors? These printers are all new to me, I've actually built high end gaming PC's but these printers are a whole different world to me. Lol Thanks

    • @HLModTech
      @HLModTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not messed with modding printers much. I to was a PC builder... Just have not messed with taking the printers to new levels. Sorry I cannot give you better info on the compatibility of the various parts.
