MashAllah brother Jan, as born muslim Bosniak I feel ashamed very often and always get inspired by reverts that strengthen and refresh my deen ! For hundreds of years Bosnia was refugee place for christian "heretics", like french cathars, italian patarenes, bulgarian and macedonian bogomils and paulicians. Theologically ruling Bosnian church shared more common practices with Muslims than with Christians (rejecting trinity, mass, clergy, idolatry, iconography, praying 5 times a day outside, fasting for 40 days etc.). It has deep roots and its highly influenced by Ostrogothic Arianism, Gnosticism eastern Manichaeism and even islamic mysticism (sufism), even there are few muslim names found inscribed on Stećak tombstones like Ahmat and Husan(Hasan) from 12-13 century, way before official Ottoman conquest. Selam and thank you Jan :)
My Bosnia. I would give every drop of blood in me for it. Especially for all the 16 years old who got brutally killed in the war in the mountains. I was on of them also but 200km further away from Srebrenica
Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Best regards from Vienna, Austria my brother in Islam. May Allah swt grant you the best in the Dunya and the best in the Akhira.
Selam brother, thank you for the video! Im currently watching this from Ankara and I was considering of trying to experience Ramadan in Sarajevo. Would like to have your thoughts on this, Id greatly appreciate it
Modern Turks are basically mixed of Greek Albanian,Bosnian DNA.Around 3 million Ethnic Bosnians holds Turkish citizenship. Those 3 Million fleed to Turkey during the Bosnian war

I will be staying in Mostar for 7 days in July inshallah. Im taking my kids and we will be visiting sarajevo too. I was young when the genocide took place but i will never forget and i will makesure my kids don’t either. Some of my family went last year and they went through the “escape routes” that were built
Our Indonesian former President, Mr. General Suharto (may Allah grant him jannah), was the only muslim country president who went to Bosnia to meet the UN delegations to defend Bosnia when you guys had terrible conflict with Krostia. That was what I heard from my husband. I trust my husband about the history between Bosnia and Kroatia but please share your opinion regarding this as a Slovak (did I say it right?)
Al-Ḥamdu lillāh... many Muslim countries helped Bosnia during this dark time. Kuwait, Sa'udia, Brunei, Malaysia, Türkiye, Sudan, Indonesia, Pakistan, and others, gave them financial aid, volunteer fighters, weapons, training and diplomatic support. This was a great example of the modern Ummah coming together to help a group of oppressed Muslims.
you said "slavic turks" at the begining of video. I understand why u said that because u saw white muslim slavs but the term u used wasn't really appropiate. We are Oriental Slavs. :D Selam brate.
Probably someone told him, or made him think in that way, Turks brought religion, but at the end they were conquerers. In same time we glorify their Sultan and the last Bosnian king grave is neglected. Why? He was catholic? Bosniaks are confused, they still can't divide religion from ethnicity! Many reasons for that, unfortunately!
@@jantheslovakmuslim what was being described is called „Mevlud“ (Mevlit in turkish). A lot of muslims „celebrate“ it. Typically Wahabis say it’s wrong and inappropriate whereas Sunnis don’t. You should research it. It’s not like how westerners celebrate their birthday with cake etc. me and my family do it btw.
@@Pekara121 I mean what's the point of it? This wasn't the practice for any of the early caliphs. I'm not a scholar but I don't see any reason to celebrate this. It's not coming from Quran or Sunnah. But you can do what you want. As far as I know, prophets never even celebrated regular birthdays. This whole thing started with Shia muslims and Sufis. But again you can celebrate whatever you want however I will not and I have valid reasons not to do so.
@Mohamed Haddi Muslims all over the world have been celebrating the Mawlid (Birthday) of the Prophet peace be upon him for hundreds of years, and the scholars never objected to it. So who are the scholars who said it is a bad innovation ?
@Mohamed Haddi It's on the edge of Bid'ah. But again why even do it? I mean there is no reason so I think it's just something cultural but it's not coming from Islam/Sunnah/Quran.
