I just remind pixel users to remember how google failed us with the first fold! They left that phone to die and didn’t care one bit for those who spent 1800 for it! 🤔
I've been looking for a comparative review between these two phones. I like the Pixel design a lot, but I like the OnePlus system and hardware a lot more, and I'm an old customer (ever since the OnePlus One). My plan is to wait for the next OnePlus Open and buy it on pre-order in the first quarter of next year.
Youre not crazy, I feel the same every time I see the pixel fold in videos. I have an Open after having had a Galaxy fold, the crease being nearly invisible on the open is amazing. i never really think about it but there are some moments when im outside and showing something to someone and the light hits it at an angle and im like theres the crease haha
OnePlus still the top dog after 1 year. Kudos to Google after the Google Fold. I can't wait for the OnePlus Open 2. I like the fact that OnePlus are talking their time to update the open. I am tired of Samsung's laziness.
Oneplus- Nicer design, faster charging, better processor, alert slider, IR blaster, better speakers, better multitasking, less visible crease, cheaper. And its a year old. Google getting beat up by an 11 month old phone. Tragic
They are both such good phones. Been sporting the open for a year now. But my gosh, the pixel features are just next level , except for multitasking. I always find myself missing the pixel features when on a Samsung or OnePlus phone. The OnePlus can take some really good pictures and I have been satisfied with it over the year compared to quite lackluster cameras on previous foldables. But that computational photography on the pixel does make it in most cases win out
Why couldn't Google just make that outer bezel/frame smaller. It ruins the whole aesthetic of the device for me and makes it look like a 9 pro slapped into a frame, which yes, it quite literally is. But it shouldn't be that noticeable.
Great review/comparison as always! Can you please Add the newest oneplus open (crimson) and the Z Fold 6 to “pt 2” of this comparison please?! Would love to see an in depth comparison of all 4 in terms of Hinge Quality, performance, battery life, camera, and multi-tasking. Am a power-user and I’ve been wanting to buy a foldable for some time now because of the multi-tasking features but I’m super skeptical of the previously mentioned categories because it just feels wiser to use something like the s24 Ultra without having to compromise on build quality (hinges), camera reliability, software bs, battery life or performance… Would be great to multitask more but that means nothing if am paying more $ for a compromise in any one of those areas.
I'd wager the open still has better cameras, it's just not as consistently good as the pixel. Your photos in the comparison from the open look pretty mediocre to some of the shots I've achieved. Especially macro pics with the main sensor, stunning. Pair that with 3x faster charging, cleaner looking front display, lighter, black vegan leather backing, I don't see much going for the pixel 9profold outside of superior software and a more consistent camera. It just looks like a second gen product, whereas you can see the innovation put into the open IMO. Great vid
@@MrDLJ5 which cause I play cloud gaming on my 15 pro nd it's pretty fast running non stop at 60fps if I switch to a fold I want to make sure it can run Xbox games on it fast and high graphics
@@MrDLJ5 cause it's either I get a dope fold or go with the 16 pro max which that a18 pro chip should make it run at 90fps but prefer a fold for a year atleast til the 17 comes out
Google is playing catch up in the hardware department. If you need vanilla android and its features and fast updates that might enough to swing it for you. For me, I’m not changing from the OPO because I like the hardware and software. It has a dual sim slot too, which I need.
Yes the Pixel has call sounds also which is nice 7 years of software updates which you get first just like Apple no waiting also running Android 15 beta now available. Love Pixel Studio.
Day to day I don't think people can tell that one phone opens up after than another or launch a camera app or do this and that now when you put it side to side you can which once again is Google mistake with not going with SD and going with tensor
I'm watching this on the Google pixel 9 pro fold
How's the battery so far for you? Full day?
Meanwhile, I'm watching on my new OnePlus Open 🤝
That sucks
The 8 Gen 2 still smokes the Tensor G4.
I just remind pixel users to remember how google failed us with the first fold! They left that phone to die and didn’t care one bit for those who spent 1800 for it! 🤔
OnePlus nailed multitasking with this device.
You didn't mention the OnePlus opens inner display is a higher resolution, I can really tell the difference when I viewed them
You just helped me choose which phone after 3 weeks of debating

i'm crazy or the crease is way more noticable on the fold ? Or maybe filming angle, light etc ? But on every plan seems way better on the OnePlus

I just wish my OnePlus Open would display HDR properly
Am I tripping or the 9PF's front facing video looked better?
It did
Did to me too

This is crazy
I've subscribed to you for YEARs lately I have to search for your videos

What pixel features are next level?

Great video, OnePlus Open is so good and a lot of value. However that pixel experience is 🔥

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold does 45W charging on a wire, no?
No, it does not, sadly

Oneplus Open is so good that itd compared to two generations and that includes two different countries. Pixel and Honor
lol what customization does the open have? The software is so limited and glitchy!
What's best fold for gaming
Literally any fold with the latest snapdragon processor. Quite a few options there.

Its crazy how we just want/need more, more and more.
😐😑
I bought the OnePlus Open to hold me over until the Pixel arrived. Loved it! Watching on my 512gb Obsidian Pixel 9 Pro Fold..
What was that 3p person shooter game you were playing ?
oneplus open match better overall either in storage or even the price

Honor V3 won already!
Nope
Which one is which at 2:47? The screen on the right is noticeably better.
Oneplus open is the one on the right
The best folding fold is the honor magic v2 Porsche edition and v3 I'm an honest Samsung Knight

Let’s hope the OnePlus open 2 in 2025 beats the **** out of the pixel.
I'll pick the one that doesn't break in half
Google doesn’t get condensation in their lenses, so I think they win by default lol.
Day to day I don't think people can tell that one phone opens up after than another or launch a camera app or do this and that now when you put it side to side you can which once again is Google mistake with not going with SD and going with tensor
Honor magic V3 for the win
What are people (and you) smoking wtih that camera comparison? it was pretty much a dead heat, just came down to what colour performance you prefer.
Oneplus open is still my favorite
Looks like everyone and their mother’s are doing phone reviews now.
Pixel 9 fold is the better
Thank you for being the first reviewer to notice that the OnePlus Open camera is trash compared to the Pixel as far as image processing goes.
No to both. 😂 Honor Magic V3
My Pixel 9 Pro arrives on Tuesday. I much prefer Google's design language and software vs OnePlus.
Design language is basically the same lol. Outside of the rear cameras. That hinge bezel on the Pixel is sooooo bad though.
I'd never buy a phone with such a ugly camera design like the OnePlus, feels like a phone from 2005
Yeah I'll keep my 1-year-old OnePlus open, cameras are subjective but I still think the OnePlus open beats the Google in every facet.
Tediously long video. You need a lor of prep work in order to deliver interesting content.
Lmao it's 8 minutes 😂😂😂
