Ip68 states, its protected for foreign object to reach the electronics on about the highest level. The thing with ip classifications is that everything is allowed to enter a device, as long it doesn’t create a harm while use, a short or other dangers while using the device. So basically, hinge isnt electrical or creates a danger with water/dust inside. And thus a part of the device that is not taken in on getting an IP rating. Dust rating is basically a false scam where customers will think no dust will enter the device, but its actually completely allowed to be about anywhere in the device, and have a crunchy hinge, as long it cant reach the electronics or create another danger in some way. The water resistance works the same actually, the hinge may be filled full of water, and all other parts, as long it doesnt reach any electronics to create a fault(short) or other dangers while using the device. Where the 8 means watertight, I dont even think it will be an 8 but more of an actuall 5. 8 would mean, you could use this device continuously on a dept of 1-8 meters.. where a 7 is should survive on a max dept of 1m for about 30 minutes. A higher number, means it should also have resistance of the lower numbers. I wonder what will happen on a ipx6 test( resistance to high pressure water beams) on an ipx8 phone. I have to believe most phones can survive a bit under water, but dont blast them with a power yet, especially hinged ones, it will be done within seconds, making all ipx rating on especially the hinged phones absolutely scammy. Hey Zack! I’ve been watching you ever since you showed us why Note 7 exploded, and I really like your content and you actually inspired me to learn how to repair tech, at first I couldn’t do anything, now I can easily repair and disassemble small tech like old iPhones and console controllers (which probably isn’t much but hey, small steps count right) and I’ve been watching some iPhone 16 pro videos and noticed something strange about the new “camera button” it’s semi-capacitive and looks awfully similar to iPad’s Touch ID button. And considering the fact that there are some instances when apple implements some hardware changes only to activate them via software later down the line, so I’m curious whether this new button has some fingerprint scanning tech inside. Would be really interesting if you looked at the button’s insides during the teardown. Thanks again!

1:12 roses are red, this phone looks like heaven.
Scratches at a level 6, with deeper grooves at a level seven.
Companies call their phones "super durable" yet their phones break in half like a hersheys chocolate bar 🥴
Realistically when is a phone like this going to be bent like it was?
@@whatarerice If a little kid gets it into its hands, especially younger cousins
@@LaSprigattio Please don't buy an $1,800 phone for a young child
@@pbjpenguin not FOR a lil kid but they might pick it up off a couch or table looking to play games or whatever
Well, what does "super" mean in society today? It doesn't mean extraordinary, it is barely above "mid", lol. The dumbing down of vocabulary these days is getting to be shameful...
Wow! It tears apart like freaking paper 😮 I got that reference about the sand being coarse! 😅 And the one about the exhaust port in the Death Star 😬
3:46 Hey jerry! Why don't you use level 8-9 picks on glass for more art time with Jerry? 3
Great idea 👏😆
3:39 Ooof. Inconsistencies that feel like you're watching a Smoorez video (where he reviews Wish/Aliexpress phones) is NOT a good look for an official premium device...
D brand's cases might not be recyclable. Its not a recycling symbol, its a resin identification code. They have a resin identification code of 7. I might be mistaken but I believe only 1s and 2s are recyclable. Thank you climatetown for this information.
3:08, see blood for the first time on his hands
Pro tip: Don't fold it the wrong way!
You're not my supervisor
@@yessum15 You are absolutely right. Please do as you wish sir 🤣
@@yessum15 😂
It's a foldable, so it should be ok to fold it.
Thanks again!
iPhone 16 16 pro and max teardown ❤
6:00 my mouth dropped.
I love your versions of the regular smart phone 'tear downs'
6:33 you jerry-rigged a trifold! Lol
I cant see myself ever buying a foldable, but gotta say, they make huge improvements. This thing is impressive
the crunching and breaking sounds are satisfying :D
