As a nurse that persistent second hand is really tempting. I might finally be swayed from my 10 dollar Walmart watch. I tired an Apple Watch series 0 but the lack of second hand was a deal breaker for work, the only place I need a wrist watch. Glad they finally caught up.
Not a nurse, but I have some nurse friends and would like to know-what kinds of things do you use your second hand for usually? Curious as I may recommend it to my smart-watch-wearing nurse friends 😊
@@TheEccentricScientist If you're taking someone's pulse manually usually you do it for 10 or 15 seconds, or if you're counting respiration rate. Things like that where you need to count seconds precisely.
Fr. I was so surprised when I got the 7th gen watch and found out it had no second hand. I didn’t know it had to with whatever he called it, the frame rate or some such but I wanted to use it for work so I don’t have to look like a doofus bobbing my head around to look for a clock on the wall so that was a dealbreaker. I traded it in like a year later. This 10 one I might actually keep. We’ll see.
My only worry to this is if you use something like the digital seconds complication on the modular watch face, that it won’t show the seconds. I’m gonna have to try this just because it’s kind of the deal breaker as I only want to use a specific watch face and not something that’s designed for the feature only.
I think the design is fine, we just need crazy sci-fi sensors like glucose monitoring, biomarkers to detect diseases early, air quality and allergen sensing, brain activity monitoring. Would be crazy hard to pull of but game changers.
it seems like the incremental upgrade that we get very single year. TBH not worth upgrading from anything over a 7, due to the limited changes since then. Only being the new temp sensor and the crash detection features. Overall I think that MKBHD is right. Dont upgrade from anything over a 7. This feels more like a software update than a new watch. Edit: unless you need the temperature sensor or crash detection.
it looks kinda cool but i dont get why one would buy this unless they're super into fitness. I dont want another device reminding me of my emails and it looks so difficult to type using that watch. I prefer classic watches which dont add to the screen-fatigue
I understand what you mean. I recently bought one on a whim online. It is going to be the first smart watch I ever owned. I honestly do wonder what's typing going to be like with this device. I already have difficulty typing on an Iphone. I will have to see though.
In 10 years of following tech reviews, no one has ever mentioned that the Apple Watch lacks continuous heart rate tracking outside of sports. That feature just doesn’t exist. Any $50 fitness band offers it. If you don’t want it, disable it. Make it optional. But I want it active because I’ve had heart surgery. I need a watch face that shows my heart rate in real-time, not updating whenever the watch decides it’s time.
I agree on the “this is the redesign” But I really think the new one is underrated a bit. With it thinner it sits closer to the wrist and flatter to the skin which is nice. The way the screen melts around the edges in that watch face is nice too. Also, can we praise Apple for supporting the same size watch straps for 10 years? Like Apple is known as the “we will sell you everything even casters!” And here we are 10 models later and I can still use my metal link band from series 0 That’s kinda neat.
I watched MKBHD review all of the new Apple products and I can tell he is less than enthusiastic about the 'upgrades'. He looks like he'd rather review a spoon than these products but being always the professional he tries his best.
Maybe because being a marketing robot is not so much fun as one gets older. Look, watches have been around for centuries, and people used to buy but a few _in their entire lives_ . This idea of constantly "upgrading" is an absurd waste of resources.
I’m not upgrading from my 6 for two reasons 1. Battery life doesn’t matter, I don’t wear it all day, I take it off and charge it when home 2. It’s blue
I'm switching to apple this year and am trying to decide between this and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The massive jump in battery seems to make it more worthwhile than this considering the middling things brought up in the video.
idk if it was intentional, but the speedy zoom in n out into marques's face for this video is different compared to more gradual zooms in other videos. I like how it enhances his message of a simple and snappy review with little valuable updates, which what the watch 10 has resulted to. love the quality production as always.
I’m upgrading from the 4 to the 10. The 4 still does everything I need it to do, tell the time and record my workouts. So this is gonna be a really nice jump. Hopefully I don’t have to upgrade again until the 16 comes out lol.
@@seanwhitman4365 I think you don't understand that it's not just this product: - iPhone has remained almost the same since the iPhone 11 (incremental improvements), even phones that cost $200 or less already come with 120hz screens - iPad has been the same for 5 generations. The new one is thinner but my question is... why? Instead of making it thinner which nobody cares about it would be better if it increased the battery but that's asking too much, or maybe make them have mac OS instead of iPad OS - Since the M1 there hasn't been a big change in the macbooks, it's better to get an m1 pro than an m3, you'll have almost the same and it's much cheaper The only attempt at innovation they had were the vision pro and holy god, and it's a pretty average product in terms of design since they are extremely expensive and don't allow you to do anything that an iPad or iPhone wouldn't realistically allow you to do
Bought the series 10 even I have series 9. All I wanted is slimmer design with jet black and lte needed anyways this year. Luckily I can sell series 9 with good price, so gap between update is minimal too. Besides, if you compare series 9 and 10, they are quite different in terms of physical shape, despite their internal is similar.
Very specific use case on my Galaxy Watch but I absolutely love the speaker and I've been using it for years. I wake up really early but I don't live alone so I have to be fairly quiet before about 7am. I like to listen to lofi in the mornings as just general background audio while I make my coffee and start my day but I don't want to have headphones in all morning, especially when doing things like washing up. Playing ambient lofi on my watch in the mornings is GOAT. It's like walking around with your own chill background music, quiet enough that nobody else can really hear it if you're worried about waking people up. Seriously, tomorrow morning when you wake up early launch Spotify on your watch and just kick on a random lofi playlist and tell me it doesn't transform your morning.
Having another sleep tracking company sponsor the video while talking about the Apple Watch’s sleep function is diabolical. Shows that Apple needs him more than he needs them
Yeah AND you gotta pay 15 bucks a month to even use. It should be a criminal offense to advertise scam products like that. Imagine paying 4600 for a bed cover and then still having to pay for a subscribtion...
As a swimmer, the water temp thing sounds good. I'm not talking deep water, but just out my backyard, but I'm in Wisconsin, so it would be nice because the floating thermometers get condensation and don't seem very accurate.
I'm an android guy and have been for the past 15 years, but honestly i've always liked the Apple watch. This bigger screen version whilst also being slimmer is incredible, I ain't gonna lie.
I mean, Apple has amazing R&D, and their products are top-notch. I don't use an iPhone, but people in my family do and it's just amazing how good they look and function. Would I ever get an iPhone, or another Apple product? Hell no, but I have to say that for people that want luxury and don't care about tech that much, they make superb devices.
Apple watch 11 - 10% better Battery. 5% smaller bezel. Pink golden i color. And finally you can see the time in a highly efficient manner by looking directly to it.
Nope, not the "easiest conclusion" to upgrade from a series 7 (at min 7:40) since it has the oximeter, which the new one doesn't. I wish it did, though.
That’s wrong! It’s still there, the functionality is only disabled in the US because of a patent dispute between Apple and another company. You can still measure your blood oxygen metrics all over the world with the exception of the US.
*The main problem is that they do a yearly refresh about almost every product… every 2-4 years is way more ideal and exciting.* *This is what happens to video games too*

Please Apple

Please put glucose monitor on Apple Watch
They don't actually measure you're blood sugar, they would need to prick you to do that. Also isn't there already glucose monitors?
Patent issues and everything they do they want FDA approval so it’s complicated
My wife’s glucose monitor can show up on her watch and she gets notifications from the app she has connected to it anyway. I’m not sure how they would go about connecting it directly to it tho.
@@Purpleblackviolet there is a new technology that barely pricks you with one tiny strand. It's a glucose measuring patch that stays on 24/7

As a nurse that persistent second hand is really tempting. I might finally be swayed from my 10 dollar Walmart watch. I tired an Apple Watch series 0 but the lack of second hand was a deal breaker for work, the only place I need a wrist watch. Glad they finally caught up.
I got the Apple Watch SE 200$ idk why anyone gonna spend over 400$ on a watch is crazy

Cool story
@@MetinGunes-ix6yfboom roasted!!!!!
it seems like the incremental upgrade that we get very single year.
Why do you think they compared the design to series 6
Haven't iPhones already had crash detection for a while?
I need a crash detection because i will have an accident 😂
it looks kinda cool but i dont get why one would buy this unless they're super into fitness.

Recently upgraded from a series 4 (had it since 2019) to the series 10. Deffo worth it.

I agree on the “this is the redesign”
But I really think the new one is underrated a bit. With it thinner it sits closer to the wrist and flatter to the skin which is nice. The way the screen melts around the edges in that watch face is nice too.
Also, can we praise Apple for supporting the same size watch straps for 10 years? Like Apple is known as the “we will sell you everything even casters!” And here we are 10 models later and I can still use my metal link band from series 0
That’s kinda neat.

I watched MKBHD review all of the new Apple products and I can tell he is less than enthusiastic about the 'upgrades'. He looks like he'd rather review a spoon than these products but being always the professional he tries his best.
Yeah cuz there's on going trend of ignoring apple for whatever it does ( that's to filthy Samsung)
@@SameerVedantika0620what are you talking about
Maybe because being a marketing robot is not so much fun as one gets older. Look, watches have been around for centuries, and people used to buy but a few _in their entire lives_ . This idea of constantly "upgrading" is an absurd waste of resources.
I’m not upgrading from my 6 for two reasons
1. Battery life doesn’t matter, I don’t wear it all day, I take it off and charge it when home
2. It’s blue
Generally not a fan of smartwatches at all but that watchface at 4:25 is an absolutely sublime integration of form and function

The only big update I can think of is MacBook transition to Apple Silicon
What r u expecting? Holograms? u want it to transform? Its a smartwatch
@@seanwhitman4365 I think you don't understand that it's not just this product:
- iPhone has remained almost the same since the iPhone 11 (incremental improvements), even phones that cost $200 or less already come with 120hz screens
- iPad has been the same for 5 generations. The new one is thinner but my question is... why? Instead of making it thinner which nobody cares about it would be better if it increased the battery but that's asking too much, or maybe make them have mac OS instead of iPad OS
- Since the M1 there hasn't been a big change in the macbooks, it's better to get an m1 pro than an m3, you'll have almost the same and it's much cheaper
The only attempt at innovation they had were the vision pro and holy god, and it's a pretty average product in terms of design since they are extremely expensive and don't allow you to do anything that an iPad or iPhone wouldn't realistically allow you to do
To be honest, I have no clue on how you can make a big upgrade on a smartwatch or a phone, what is there to add without copying from other companies.

Just saw that title change "take it or leave it" > "This is it?"

Weirdly, Series 10 bezels are thicker than the previous generations.
The bezels are not thicker the glass just extends further down the body. Less metal can be seen from the top
yeah, saw a graph on reddit. though i like it. with a bit more bezel it just looks a bit better on the edges as it doesnt warp with the glass
Yeah when they showed the side by side in the presentation, it looked about the same to me. Not that I particularly had a problem with the old design.
True. They're definitely gonna update the ultra next year with a bigger screen. I hate apple so much
