The A14 with Strix Point has an option for 32GB. It's the one I got because the prices for Strix Point laptops with a higher tier GPU make absolutely no sense in Europe right now. I'm not too happy about the keyboard layout I have (I use a French keyboard), but otherwise, it's surprisingly okay for an ASUS laptop, especially once you remove all of the ASUS bloat and just use G-helper to manage everything else, which is an insanely good piece of community software that replaces Armoury Crate.
In my country, the TUF A14 is about 6-7% cheaper, where basically the 4060 model of the A14 is equal in price of the 4050 model of G14. At that point, I'd rather spend a little more to get the G14 (which is what I did as at that point there was an IT show with significant discount and the A14 was not out yet). I would be a lot more excited if Asus was able to cut costs further to drop the price more than $300-400USD by having a lower resolution 1200p more budget IPS panel. I would also be fine with more plastic build but still slim and light laptop if it is so much cheaper, I see no point not going for the G14. I would rather ASUS focus on reducing their amount of SKUs so we could see a relevant cost decrease on the Zephyrus line. It's pretty obvious they're using the G14 framework and downgrading some of the multimedia aspects to the point it's smarter to just wait for a G14 sale. ASUS finally hit gold with the Zephyrus line-up. They should be looking to expand that success to actually different products (Zephyrus Duo update/redesign? Strix 16 with the Zephyrus screen/speakers/trackpad?) and use the economy of scale to make these other product lines irrelevant.
I love what ASUS is doing with laptops but I can’t justify the cost. I’ve got an M1 and my gaming days are long past me - if I need to unwind, my Steam Deck is my go-to (no Windows 11 for me!)

I would love to see the Lenovo Slim 5 14 OLED in the roundup! it was a budget king for 2023 models!
Legion Slim 5 14APH8
Yeah this thing will sell many many times over. Also nice watch Eber.
lol. you tell us that Asus cut down the "Premium" experience.... and Still put $1400 price tag on it??? Nah, that BS!
I strangely love the click noise for slide show switching, 👍. The addition of 5c core will be interesting long term as a comparison to the Intel E cores. I do wonder if the “big+little” architecture will make it to desktop or stay mobile only.
Strix 16 with the Zephyrus screen/speakers/trackpad?) and use the economy of scale to make these other product lines irrelevant.
medioce speakers is a deal breaker for me, so there goes your perfect laptop
Isn't a 4060 laptop gpu only 10% faster than a 2060 laptop gpu?
At equal power, the 4060 is significantly faster.
I love what ASUS is doing with laptops but I can’t justify the cost. I’ve got an M1 and my gaming days are long past me - if I need to unwind, my Steam Deck is my go-to (no Windows 11 for me!)
I have a rather mediocre laptop with a 3050ti that I at least got a good deal on, and I'm more than overdue for a desktop upgrade from my trusty old 1060. This is the kind of thing I should have held out for - once the price is right.
damn the barber pushed your shit back
😂😂😂
life pushed it back
Everyone complaining about the price asus gaming laptops regularly go on sale and are open box. I think if u wait u can prob get this for $1,100-$1,200
Ill keep an eye out for this laptop. I use my old laptop for drawing so I want to upgrade to something better that can do some gaming on the side. Thx for the video, very informative.
for that price MacBooks are also in range, would love to see these included in the battery comparisons
Macbooks suck at AI Graphics rendering like Lightroom's Enhanced Denoise, which needs Dedicated GPU to be fast. And let's not get started on GPU rendering that needs Dedicated Graphics
And then there's Gaming... Which is pretty much non-existent on Macbooks.
For me, I'd get a snap x elite laptop, cheaper price if you are not using it for gaming anyways
I bought the lenovo legion 14' like 6 months ago and I think is still a really good option. That oled panel 🥰
$1400 and no way to upgrade the memory. A big red flag personally.
Moemory will no longer be upgradable from now on laptops. AMD and Intel said, all motherboards with this new CPU from them come with soldered ram.
@mariussm7797 what??? When they did say this
@@mohamedshaheem5090 on the new Intel Lunar Lake all ram memory is part from the same chip as the CPU per request from Intel. On AMD all Strix Point come with soldered on motherboard.
Gostei do laptop apresentado, desempenho bom e não é um drone. Espero que venha pra o Brasil. Esse tipo de laptop ficaria excelente pra o público brasileiro pois existem poucos modelos nessa categoria de 14 polegadas.
Asus really needs to relax when it comes to those gamer key caps, someone's gotta tell them. Those caps are on the G14 & 16 too
Yes, until I often mistakenly press the F1 key instead of the F2 key when using Excel. The F1 - F12 key placement is odd
If I am forced to buy just one gaming laptop from 2024, it might be this one, the Strix Point and 32GB variant.
This or the Vivobook RTX4070 OLED 🤔
Can u send me a link to see the specs of that vivobook?
They don't even compare man. One is a slim portable 14", other one a chuncky heavy crap design 16"
Aw, was hoping to see a review on the Asus VivoBook S 14 as that one doesn't have a dGPU. Anyways, with Lunar Lake coming up, it may be more exciting for efficiency, and we'll probably see more Strix laptops from other Vendors than Asus. Hoping we'll see a review where these SoCs will be inside similar laptop chasis for comparisons
Those are nice looking watches. What are these?
Will they possibly make a cheaper version of this?
sick thumbnail
Thanks!
if this came out with a camm module then it would be perfect.
It's $1,700 for a laptop (32gb variant) with an RTX 4060... LOL, and it's not even an OLED display
ASUS is testing the waters with their supposedly "cheapest" line-up (TUF series), so they can price-increase their "top" line-up (ROG Strix, Zephyrus series)... Imagine when those laptops come out, it must be at $3k+, hahah
Its not really an ASUS issue. Its been revealed that the Strix Point chips cost OEM's DOUBLE what the Ryzen 8000 series did.
@@HardwareCanucks noted on that. While the new chips is indeed good (even now rivaling Macbooks), the way they priced it as double out of the gate is so rushed that consumers might not be ready for that sudden price increase
Is the difference of vapour cooling affect the temperature if compared to g14?
I love your voice you should try doing ASMR video I mean your tone is very relaxing and soothing to ears
Just need this 14 form factor on tuf series and with only amd strixpoint but of course price down around 800-900 usd
Lol, this TUF A 14 is 1999,- € in Germany. I would love to buy one, but for max. 1500,- € The Pricepoint for the package is absurd. But the notebook is nice for sure, unfortunatly complete overpriced
Glad its not oled, but sucks they didn't go with the ips display of 2023 g14 for high brightness and color accuracy
Edge: used to download Firefox
Touchpad: used to connect my Bluetooth mouse
This laptop needs to be more cheap by cutting down some things. Otherwise most people would go g14 instead of this. The can maybe make cheap model of this A14. Like lower refresh rate, less ram, and less powerful gpu. They need to make ut around 1000 dollars otherwise most people would pick g14 because of it's premium finish
4:00 as a tech youtuber you should know this is da wrong way to open the lid. ITS ALWAYS THE MIDDLE
Calling that power adapter slim is a plain faced lie. That adapter is huge…thick..chunky 😂
Did I see an LTT Screwdriver 👀
That laptop would be good at a 999 price point maybe
can it be charged (slower) via both USB type C ports?
I wish TH-camrs would spend more time CONDEMNING laptops with non-upgradable soldered-on components. The laptop I bought in2019 is still going strong because I’ve been able to upgrade or swap out anything I needed to keep it going.
“Spend responsibility” by buying products that are non-repairable and/or non-upgradable?
This laptop is tiny soo soldered ram can still be justified
@@mrbobgamingmemes9558
My 13” HP Elitebook X360 has two dimm slots, so I don’t feel is justified to have soldered RAM for any laptop. And I would rather sacrifice a little thinness in return for a more adaptable device.
@@2011KestrelWTF ? SODIMM SLOT ON 13 INCH LAPTOP ? i never seen 13 inch laptop offer sodimm slot in my life
@@mrbobgamingmemes9558
It’s an HP Elitebook X360 830 G6. It has two SODIMM slots supporting up to 32 GB. It’s 8th Gen Intel, but it’s fine for my everyday needs. Except for the screen - HP’s privacy filter makes the display utter trash unless you are directly in front of it. I’m going to try swapping out the display for a “lesser” model without the POS privacy filter whenever I get the time to try it.
The Asus tax is slapping folks hard now with their prices.
My r7 4800h and RTX 3050 2021 model cost me $1800 Aussie bucks when bought in early 2022.
The mobo, based on used sellers online, is worth 800-1000 Aussie bucks alone. 😅
Gonna be real. The more I watch these videos and cross-reference them - I realize y’all are a marketing rather than a tech channel.
And you’re really *BAD* at marketing.
The design of this reminds me of the ThinkPad Z61m (MY 2006)
What's the performance on the integrated GPU @ 1080p, for the Zen 5 version?
I wish I could buy a vivobook or Zenbook with this LCD display. 😢
Can it take dual sided ssd
someone have the wallpaper of the minute 6:18?
Yes.
Just want until you have to file a RMA. I have and I’m done with ASUS.
Does it have under-display exhaust? I hate that exhaust on my g14 because it makes me unable to use it in clamshell mode
How much did they pay you to do this ?
Great video ! Thanks. What is the top RTX card that this model allows?
Prefer Rog flow series. That little extrusive butt just bugs me
can you compare this with the 2024 g14 (4060) please ?
This laptop goes for $2400 in Sweden, and I have no idea why. With a 4060, I just don’t get the hyped. I say it’s paid promotion 💯
At this price point a glass trackapd is not expected? Wtf
@2:08
HARD pass on non upgradable ram laptops! whos with me?!
Laptop prices make no sense now
