Hi! I'm the guy in the video 🤣 I messed up the move order in the opening and that got me in this super sad position ahah. I enjoyed playing with Anna during the Streamers Blitz Cup 😃
Thank you for clearly explaining all of your moves and the reasoning behind your moves in a way that we could understand and slowly enough to where we could comprehend.Thank you again.
Anna, you’re a good sport. When you win you don’t rub salt into your opponent’s wounds and when you lose you learn from the experience and congratulate the winner.
Hi Anna Thank you for showing us the game, and yes, absolutely I did enjoy it!! It's very instructional having you explain and demonstrate essential chess principles from move 5 onwards and see how you took advantage of the space and strong centre. Perhaps the Nimzo-Indian 4.Qc2 line should be renamed 'The Cramling Attack' !
Congratulations. Keep going it’s a great game. I live in Hastings UK and in the 80’s we hosted some of the biggest tournaments ever. I met most of the top players. Sadly I don’t play any more but we still have a great club locally.❤️
That guy's rating is 1757. Anna's rating is significantly higher at 2061. Of course she "destroyed him" as she originally wrote on this video and then she changed it to "shocked him" after several people were offended by her original video title. Awesome game! Thanks for mentioning the alarm. I had to pause the video just to find out where it's coming from. And when I continued watching, that's when you mentioned it. 😁
The two Anna's I follow finished 1-2, lol. Maybe you see now why I keep talking about NOT having, "fear", and not allowing it to have control of any aspect of your game- not even to say, "I was scared when". People can use this when they play against you- and as you finally said, LOOKING & APPEARING confident, is just as important as being so, at times. This goes for many, many things, in this life. Won't be long, I believe, before you win your first big tournament. Keep implementing BOTH of your parents games, and you continue to build yourself into a very well-rounded player.
When I was in college, a friend of mine in the dorm liked to play chess, so we would sit down and play chess. I knew how to play - but I had never studied theory at all. So, after losing 3-4 games, I headed to the campus library to study up on chess theory. (This is where I learned about the Sicilian defense - which my friend hated when I played it). I also happened to find a small paperback on chess theory from Bobby Fischer. I found the book fascinating, because his entire theme was ATTACK. The book was fool of examples of how to attack from all kinds of positions. His biggest advice was always look for a way to attack. Watching this reminded of when I read that book. Great job in the tournament!
It is better to play positional chess until you have developed your pieces and have accumulated positional advantages, before launching an attack. It is seldom a good idea to attack while you have pieces waiting to be developed.
Interesting game! Good analysis from you Anna of this game of chess, thank you 👏 Good advice on psychological behavior during the blitz tournament! I agree
the good thing I like about blitz is, you can watch it live and its exciting. with classical the only way I can watch it is with a ''Anna Cramling Edit''.
A good game, nice job. Congrats on the 2nd place. As you noted, confidence is a big part of success, and it sounds like this win also brought another important factor: momentum. Can't say I'm a fan of sponsorships, IMO it lowers/cheapens the classy tone (example: the soft classical music in the background of intense games). On the plus side, I don't see any visible tattoos on you yet- exceptional, nowadays. 😁
Knowing nothing about chess, my take away was that it is a winning strategy in blitz tournaments simply to force the opponent to have to think. Thanks for thisw
GG ! Congrats !! Great advice Anna that's how I guess I got away with quite a few blunders by playing them very confidently in otb blitz. Time is money especially in otb blitz. Great fun too right. Sac sac mate and if it doesn't work win on time.

Hello, Anna. I created a variation of the Cow opening I call the Manatee, or Sea Cow, opening 🤭. It’s not a great opening but I’ve had some success with it.
@@svetfeddersen9767 the Manatee came about because I was doing the cow wrong 😂 From White you open 1d3 then 1e3. With your Cow you then play Nd2 Nb3 and mirror the King side, but on this I jump straight from Nb1 to Nc3 and Ng1 to Nf3. I then develop my bishops to d2 and e2 before castling. It’s a mess. I know. It’s big and cumbersome just like a manatee. It also doesn’t hold up very well to aggression. But if you confuse your opponent by this opening, and they play a little more conservatively, it’s possible to have some success. But if your opponent just goes for an outright attack it’s not going to hold up very well.
@@dr.floridamanphd Have you tried doing something similar from the Black side? If you played one well known defence and had pawns on d6&e6, knights on c6 and f6, bishop on e7 this could arise from some lines in the Sicilian, e.g. Scheveningen!!
Well played. Well done! So cute that none of you knew where to stand 😊. Top 3 were all women. So good to see. You still managed to play very well in the tournament ❤.

I think that the point Anna made in the video was that her opponent found himself in a losing position in less than one minute. The remainder of the time taken was simply needed to apply the coup-de-grace.
Please Play Matan Evenoff so we can watch him blatantly lie about how the pieces move vertically and call the knights ponies or something and then flip over the table and say that it counts as winning - I would be in fits of laughter
