If Valiants get another Fusion or Link that represents either a 3rd party or a individual trying to make them get along, I will call this the Fire Emblem Fates archetype
@@wyrmshogun5245 so atm the factions are RTS staple factions. The Waters are the magical medieval nation while the Fires are the hyper advanced technological empire. I could see us getting Earth Reptiles who would be the Zerg/Tyranid, alien hivemind with organic technology and Wind Psychics being the Technology so advanced it's like magic enlightened civilization that fights the alien hivemind. It's a StarCraft thing with Protoss VS Zerg basicaly.
@@wyrmshogun5245 it could be earth warriors and wind beast-warriors or beasts (but no winged beasts, they could use some sort of magic devices to chanelling the power of wind) and just to troll that hojo (the warrior with a flame sword that in fact is a water spellcaster), the earth warrior tribe could have a mage conjuring a hurricane
Deck Build Packs typically keep one card from each archetype unrevealed until right before their release, usually the most impactful one. I know this because your Magistus video couldn't cover Zoroa, their most important and powerful card in the theme!
Yeah take for example Water Enchantress. Without this card Adventure would not have seen the amount of play it did if any. Brave PK couldn't exist without it.
Valiants desesperately need that final card to be their own searchable version of Senet Switch, or a card that can place one of their fusions directly from the extra deck in the pendulum zone. Seriously you have 8 effects that need moving from a monster zone to another to trigger them, but you have way too few ways to do that in the archetype. You have 2 monsters that cannot move themselves, and the pendulum effects of the fusions which are ridiculously hard to get in the pendulum zones, otherwise you have to seriously play Senet Switch or Column Switch ._.
@@doubl2480 Yeah the one fusion can't even go to the Scales by himself. So a card that could do that would be interesting. I have to look at the set number to now if the last card is a monster, spell, etc. But in my opinion it has to be a Spell or another ED monster. A Rota with bonus effects (like a Senet Switch effect) or an Extradeck extender/starter would be nice.
@@doubl2480 There's actually an engine which lets you pendulum summon without having a pendulum monster taking up your other pend scale. Using beyond the pendulum, you can search Kai-Den Spirit and then place it in the pendulum scale, where you can then pendulum summon and then have Kai-Den bounce itself to free up your pendulum scale. This combo obviously needs a lot of setup (two free special summons from the hand) but it's pretty strong.
My silly tech pick would be Hamon. Since your opponent WILL be using the effects of the field to throw monsters to the back row. They count as continuous spells so Hamon can be summoned in a pinch for a nifty shield or a big 4000 atk beatstick that inflict 1000 dmg every time it destroys a monster.
I love the deck build packs so much. I just feel like Konami uses them to really go wild in their design principles, often both in card art and gameplay design. Every deck build archetype is at least very interesting if not broken.
With the arrows on the field spells, its pretty much confirmed there will be Wind and Earth factions. If they make the Fire Machines invaders, then this is Avatar the last Air Bender meets a MOBA. In addition to Senet Switch, theres Pendulum Switch and Column Switch as niche picks.
You got to love these explained videos. Always pointing out effects I overlooked or didn't notice allowing me to brain storm even more possible strategies and refining those that were struggling before as I now have a better understanding of the cards themselves
Besides the obvious (Senet Switch), I think Mythical Beasts are one of the archetypes that can combine well with Valiants. Not only are they spellcasters, but if you use the Cerberus + King Jackal engine, you will only ever summon them from the Extra deck (Cerberus by the effect of Jackal and Jackal by pendulum summon using the Wind Spirits), and they share with Valiants being a pendulum archetype with only one Scale number that, to function properly, need your PD zones to remain empty after use.
"You no longer have to move left to right on the monster zone" Wait what? But. What else is left- "You can also move across spell and trap zones" SEAL OF ORICHALCOS YOU'RE BACK!!!
I like Valiants in the idea... even if they seem really flawed to me. I think it could be fun trying to use their field spells in Crystal Beast (really!) because the graveyard effect of the new Crystal Beast trap allows to search for any field spell. Simply play a copy of each Valiant field and use the trap effect to search for Koenig Wissen. Activating it will place Shinrabansho on the opponent's side, and then you can replace Koenig Wissen with your own Rainbow Ruins to avoid letting your opponent use the effect against you while remaining able to use the effects of Shinrabansho. From there you can Crystal Promise for free every turn. It's a bit convoluted but I think it's doable?
17:08 German guy here: Koenig Wissen(or "König Wissen" is how it would be spelled in german) König translates to king(pretty obvious) Wissen translates to Knowledge(not Wisdom, i have seen a lot of people get that wrong) so it would be King Knowledge or, what i would assume "Königliches Wissen" which would be "King-like/Royal Knowledge", but only if you translate it a bit stylistically. great video btw!
I would not translate that as Königliches Wissen. If it was meant that way it would have been written like that I think. I imagine that because it is a field spell it is meant as the name of a location and König Wissen sounds like the name of a mountain or a base or something like that. Konami's german has made huge improvements since the Yubel cards first released in the OCG. (Please look them up “Das Abscheulich Ritter“ and “Das Extremer Traurig Drachen“ is not very good deutsch I'd say xD)
I think a card that one could splash in could be Spell Strider. If you have your spell/trap zones clogged up, or if your opponent has a monster you absolutely want to get rid of, just banish them and get a monster on the field. Then link him away for something better.
So... the Tactical Master set revolves around Yugioh archetypes mimicking videogames and or videogame genres. Valiants are kinda like Overwatch and Mysticrune is like SkyRim.
