  • 🚜 Welcome back, folks! Farmer Jim here with an intriguing question for today's video: "To Pelletize, or not to pelletize?" Join me as we delve into the world of straw and hay bales to uncover the secrets behind pelletizing.
🌾 In the first experiment, we tackle straw bales, each boasting a hefty 7,000 liters. Watch as we load three onto the bale shredder, with the Premos 5000 converting the shredded bales into pellets. The palletizer then reveals a surprising yield - 105 bags of pellets, forming 2 full pallets and a partial.
🌾 Now, let's rewind and switch to hay. Three hay bales, each carrying 6,000 liters, undergo the same process. The result? 91 bags of hay pellets, still comprising 2 full pallets and a partial.
💰 Crunching the numbers, if we sold the hay or straw as is, we'd make $1,656 or $1,260, respectively. However, pelletizing elevates the game. Selling 91 bags of hay pellets fetches $1,902, while 105 bags of straw pellets net $1,607. The profits? $246 for hay and $347 for straw.
🌾 Fun Fact: To cover the costs of the Premos 5000 and Bale Shredder, you'd need to pelletize 4,291 hay bales or 3,043 straw bales. And that's not factoring in molasses or water costs for the Premos 5000. If you dream of a pellet hall palletizer, you'll need an additional 2,135 hay bales or 1,513 straw bales.
👩‍🌾 So, is pelletizing worth it? The numbers say yes, but the journey is a bale of surprises. Stay tuned for more farming adventures and remember to like, share, and subscribe! Happy farming! 🚜🌾 #FarmLife #PelletizeOrNot #FarmingProfits
