I've said it before but I almost gave up on the game then found the channel and now find the game way better than before as a result. I've changed my style of play and enjoy using (and watching the tutorials for), autodrive and courseplay. Older laptop so the larger maps can be a bit risky but there's a few I haven't even considered shown here so I see many hours on them in the future.

New Year’s Eve, fireworks are booming all around my neighborhood, wife is getting the black eyed peas, greens and corn bread ready for tomorrow and I’m sitting here watching the last FSG video of the year. I’m so grateful to your efforts to make this game enjoyable for us devotees to it. Your map tours, mod reviews and tutorials have made me a better player. Hi, very good video. From time to time a video is welcome that brings back to the attention of those who love FS22, new or older maps, mods that already have tutorials, for example I enjoyed watching the video about the vehicle control addon. They are never boring. Somehow you manage to make them interesting and engaging. An excellent job!

Happy new year FSG...Wonderful work the list...I reckon it was rather difficult to pick favorites cause modders on fs22 always give their best....Many thanks to the modding community as well for giving us so many option in this wonderful game...I have learnt so much about the game from you and I am hoping to learn much more so thank you for the time you take to share you farm sim experience with us. Its been a long road from Bulls Gap...

My 2 favorite maps that I go back to time and time again are exactly the opposite of what you describe lol...I go back to NML and American Farmlands over and over. I love the sandbox startup. I LOVE watching these types of videos and watching you and other YT folks play on these BEAUTIFUL maps but I get bored on them quickly. Not the maps fault at all I just really like challenging myself to the most barebones start ups as possible. Which on the 2 maps I named I can really push it to the limit without altering the map itself much. Although on my last NML save I made the entire map dirt and took away the trees and rocks. It feels like the more tedious the startup the more I enjoy it which is crazy lol
But again I'm so thankful of these types of maps you named because they are so beautiful and I really enjoy watching you guys play on them! And the new 1 you just reviewed (Moss Valley) feels like the 1 I'm going to check out!

@@TheFarmSimGuy exactly! So many different ways to play the same game which makes it amazing you are right! After I saw this vid and your other vid for that new map I saw MrSealyPs vid on The Forgotten Lands which made me start it up right away...another sandbox type setup that suites me 100% lol
I always enjoy seeing what mods and maps other fs players like and I would have to say that all modders and true heroes for taking time out of their live just to make this game better! Also I’d like to thank FSG for teaching us how to use certain mods that I had no idea how to use 100k subs is right around the corner! Have a happy new year everyone!

Great list. Evergreen is the perfect representation of Saskatchewan and even Montana and North Dakota as far as landscape goes.
My favorites are probably Taheton, UMRV, Green Valley, Edge Water, Iowa Plains View and Alma.
I have a hard time playing European maps but can recognize the work that goes into them. Now if Alien Jim would bring a couple of his back to 22 that may change lol
Another great one FSG. Though watching your videos is dangerous. I play on console, after watching your stuff I’m like maybe one day I’ll get a pc lol.

Quick question if I may, I’m playing court farm on my ps5, could you maybe help me and tell me how to give cows bedding? I can’t get a straw blower to work and the trigger won’t accept bales, or am I doing something wrong?
Happy New Year FSG. I still have a soft spot for “Haut Beyleron.” I have not looked at any of the Italian maps, will soon fix that. Of course Oxy’s two maps are my most played. May 2024 bring you another 25K + subs.

There have been some beautiful mod maps created. I have been very impressed. But I have to tip my hat to Giants for the maps they have created. My favorite map is Silverrun Forest. 600+ hours for me and I have never done logging maps! It just felt like home to me. I have enjoyed Elm Creek, Erlengrate, Horsch map and I am currently loving Zelonka! My favorite mod map so far has been Piney Run. There are so many awesome maps it's really hard to choose........what an awesome community and an awesome game! 😎 Happy New Year, FSG! 🎉

We've seen some amazing maps for FS22, Some of my favorites: Edgewater Sask, Court Farms, Ohio Richlands, Bucks County, Alma Missouri, The old stream farm, and Giant's Elmcreek and Silverrun Forest

Hi Farm sim Guy I have been doing maps since this was first launched I have many interesting maps I’ve done over the years similar to you I have now treated myself to a state of the art PC and it has opened up a whole new world for me as far has farming goes as you say there are some beautiful maps out there well done you map modders the one that I have spent more time on than any other map is Old Stream Farm the attention to detail is fantastic the rivers and streams are almost life like it has everything you would want in a map and not to big but I am at loss what map to do which is as good as O S FI’ve just started Fairhead but three is still a lot of work needing to be done.Big maps I find daunting and where to start keep up your good work you are doing Happy New Year to you. Currently playing on UMRV. Such a great map. Just started this video. Should be a great one.
I love Calmsden, currently have 2 saved games there. Really loved Saxthorpe, I’d almost got the whole map when it crashed and the game disappeared from my PC, very annoying. But undeterred I jumped straight back in and started all over again, only for the same thing to happen again 😡
Oh well. I still many many hours on this game, love it. I’d love some more details but we all like different things hey

I can't stop farming Taheton. I don't like the massive "optional" mod list involved but the map, my god man it's good.
If you like location realistic maps. Graystone Farms by Large H Mapping is very hard to beat. Based in Rockingham County North Carolina, you can travel the farm on Google Maps and recognize almost everything. Now living little over an hour from this area does make me a little bit biased, but this map is very enjoyable to play, especially with older equipment.

Very good maps indeed... I miss good maps from the southern hemisphere... there are some goods for Australia but I'm really missing good ones from South America. Not the current ones available should be on your list, but I'm really missing a map in the same level of these, maybe even 4x for Brazil or Argentina...
I can't believe you didn't mention Rennebu at all! Best 16x map for a long time, might still be (I've not played any others)

Hey FSG , I have a question about Elk Mountain. I know you can do some logging, but there are no sell points for wood items on the map. Do I have to create a sell point? Otherwise, there is no place to sell wood items?
Do you mean from the platinum expansion? You would have to place a sell point, probably because it was released before the expansion 👍
I was stuck on Elm for awhile when first learning the game but now I'm stuck on no man's land and silver run. Trying to master forestry
My favorite is Spruce mountains. The starting farm /location is nice... You can do logging.The price of the fields are very accessive. Starting equipement is very good. I love Bucks county too for the same reason. my 2nd. I played alma missouri but was boried after 20 hours or so... I played many , most of them american maps.... Sorry i cant dig european map LOLLLL. I remembered played a bit on edgewater(I'm canadian PS5). I will look into court fams elk mountain and maybe saxthorpe farms in the few days.

Yes, we only have Holmåkra, which is a logging map, we currently have no Swedish farming maps on mod hub sadly, which very sad, since the southernost part of Sweden ( Skåne ) makes for perfect settings for FS maps

Taheton County Iowa is an amazing map too it just came out but I already love it and row crop ready

Oxygen Davids maps are among my favorites, and Black Sheep. I'm most to English set maps. I have sadly not played so much FS22 as I liked. :(
Really nice list of maps, i have not played everything. Im now on carpathian country side, land of italy and middleburgh. Middelburgh have some great productions en the field are not to big
Yes Middleburgh is a great map, but you do need a pretty powerful computer to run it
@@TheFarmSimGuy yes, my computer is struggling alot. Mostly its 60 fps but in some areas it drops to 40-50 fps. But the productions and map looks great 😅
Is there map with room for a huge farm and medium to enormous rectangular fields with maybe uneven terrain but no obstacles? All those modders build beautiful maps but they also often think it is fun to work those round fields or having certain entrances to a farm. This Evergreen Sask looks interesting.
Yeah there are a few of those, Oma Tana has recently released one, I can't remember it's name off the top of my head
I recommend anyone check out Landownunda 16X map if you like big fields. It's ridiculously massive and has every size field imaginable, including by far the biggest I've ever seen. The graphics aren't at the level of Giants maps but it's so fun to farm hemp (included with the map) on the gigantic fields!

Wish they come out with something with old iron from the 1940 to 1960 with one row corn picker and the old 2 cylinder john deere. Old school for me way to go . I even like Steam engines .

Being on console and I feel like all console maps are missing one thing. Better Grain Bins! We have no variety on our bins.
Have you tried out Emerald Coast 4x? I think it's a smidge better than Green Valley. Only because you can easily remodel your farm without getting into the giants editor. I down loaded castlenaud, what a great map, next time I do a European map I think that will be the one.
It’s definitely not better. Lots of base game stuff and no traffic.
@@davidvanmol5199 until they fix traffic its makes the game almost unplayable especially if you use AD so I just turn it off, DJ did ok with the traffic on GV by keeping it only to the main highway though.
I think Green Valley is great but it feels a little stale. it probably has a lot to do with the inability to make the farm your own. Map creators need to let go of the map, we are not all gonna play exactly how they want us to. If they are concerned about using it as a cash source they could do like cavalier roy does and make the removal of buildings cost money.
@@MrBertstare i have to disagree. Traffic makes the world feel alive and have the option to destroy a farm makes mappers give us ugly farms with base game buildings. I rather have gorgeous farms like in Court, Lands Of Italy etc then boring farmyards like we see in a lot of maps.
You see I’m of a different school of thought, I don’t like pulling apart existing farm yards and never had the urge too, they’ve usually been designed and well thought out, or based on a real life farm. I try to play quite realistically and no where in history ever has a farmer bought a new farm and the first thing he does is pull all the buildings down and rebuild them differently, they make do with what they’ve got. If I want to build a farm from scratch I just buy a field and start with a blank canvas

What website do you get your mods from?
from the Modhub or direct from the modders facebook pages or Itch.io pages. I don't use the mod websites, you never know what you are downloading, and they steal download credit away from the modders

I loved also playing the Newlin Texas map in fs19. The map has the best custom crop and ground textures so far in fs19.

You've got silverrun forest from the Platinum Expansion that's got a mine on it? or if you are on PC Yukon Valley, very big map with mining on it.
@TheFarmSimGuy consol only I've seen some other maps with mines but I don't like them for other stuff like farming bc they got rock walls or bushes around each field that you can't get rid of and you gotta do all this extra driving to find the entrance to the fields and the rd layouts make it even harder if it wasn't for that several would be awesome

The problem with DJ Modding is he doesn't put his stuff on the modhud for seemingly no good reason. He just wants to drive traffic to his website and make money. I hate modders with that mentality. They do it for the dollar and not for the art.
More that his mods wouldn't pass the giants criteria for modhub, Many modders use Itch for this purpose

Yes console mods are limited for a number of reasons

Oxygen David's maps are right up the top of the charts. Always! I like European/British maps best, but played Wilker farms for a while. The map I have played most Ever has to be The West coast. I had FS17 on my old PC just for that one map! Alas I lost it when I changed PC. Giants dont support it anymore :-(
