    Unfortunately for other brands, nothing compares to a Rolex oyster bracelet. 😊. But you will get to that in due time

      The Rolex oyster is very good.

      I own both these watches and the Tudor clasp is far better than the Rolex one so whilst the Rolex oyster bracelet is slightly better engineered, the Tudor is better in practice as it has huge adjustability in the T Fit clasp.

    I have the BB Pro and if you have not worn it - let alone tried it - don’t judge it by its thickness. It is too thick for what it should have been, but not something that ruins the watch (for me at least). Actually, I think I like the contrast to my other watches.

    • @cheynewalls
      @cheynewalls  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've been wearing the Black Bay Pro around town and have no problem with the thickness so far, not quite as comfortable as the Rolex Explorer II, but in no way uncomfortable.

    Both are great watches and very accurate. I don't think a human being will be able to perceive an accuracy difference between the two during photo shutter lengths. The Explorer II polar may prove more useful during sunrise/sunset when visibility is limited.

    • @cheynewalls
      @cheynewalls  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed, both very accurate and great watches. Yeah both can easily handle my long camera exposure, will have to see about long-term accuracy. Good point, The Polar dial will most likely be more legible at low light. Cheers

    The Tudor Black Bay Pro calls back to the Rolex 1655. Yes Tudor is the modern tool watch maker for sure IMO. I have the Rolex Explorer II black dial and find the 39mm of the Tudor too small for my taste but it is a beautiful watch.

      I have been very impressed over the last few days with the Tudor. Running tests, comparing, and wearing the watch, there might be a few surprises. Can already say, I'm going to be sad giving it away.

    Hi Cheyne, very good video again! I have a TUDOR in my collection, the Black Bay GMT S&G (rootbeer). I like it very much, but there is no comparison to the Explorer. I love the 42 mil together with a thin case. The Tudor 39 mil is a bit too small for me an it is very thick. But anyway a very good watch! PROST! 🙂

    Really like the set up with the more serious longer duration field test. I think the Pro dimensions are over critizised but as an owner of a 16570 I would say that even with the new Polar the balanced wearability and comfort with the tapered oyster will make a huge difference. Looking forward to the next one! 🥃

    Curious why you went with the pro vs the gmt Pepsi from Tudor being closer to size to your explorer 2 and submariner.

    • @cheynewalls
      @cheynewalls  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A few reasons, The Pro is a direct descendant of the original Explorer II. Since both the Tudor Pro & GMT have the same movement, I wanted to see how I personally felt about the Pro's sizing and thickness, and I like the Pro's looks better. The blue and red are a little flashy for me, personally I like simple below the radar watches. If the watch has colors, I prefer just a small accent color. Cheers

      @@cheynewalls I mean. Yes. The explorer II to me is still the pinnacle of outdoor/traveller/daily watches. It’s really got a perfect size. But the BB pro gives it a run for its money. If they made the case slightly thinner and offered a white dial to me it would be perfection.

    I have the explorer ii in black with the “ghost hands”. It’s the version just prior to the newest. Has a nice matte dial and is very “toolish” while still being slim. Great content and I’m looking forward to your updates with the new watch.

      Just though it would be fun to combine my passion for photography and timepieces. One of the most important pieces of equipment in a Nature photographer's arsenal isn't always part of his or her camera bag - it's their vehicle, tool watch and specialized gear. Much more than a method of getting from location to location, or the prefect instrument of keeping time can mean the difference between capturing or missing an epic shot.
      Over the 20 years of my photography career, tool watches have become an intricate tool in his photography process. We would like to share with you our passion for excellence and quality. Not only in my artwork, but with precision tools use to capture my award-winning photography.

    I have both and the one thing I can say is that the BB Pro T-Fit Clasp beats the Explorer II Hands down. On all other factors for big wrist people the Explorer II wins EVERYTHING.... Just my opinion but I think most will agree... If Explorer II had a Glide Lock it would be the king of tool watches LOL

    • @cheynewalls
      @cheynewalls  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @Anonymouslyme1
      @Anonymouslyme1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I own both and think the BB Pro is better in nearly every way; a better and more harmonious design (the Rolex has 4 completely different and unmatching hands), Tudor has 3D lume which is better looking from oblique angles, Tudor has floating hands which looks cool, the yellow GMT hand is cooler on the Tudor, the Tudor has a much better crown (the Rolex’s is too small, hard to tighten and comes undone playing golf but the Tudor doesn’t), Tudor has the T Fit clasp which is a massive point, when you set the watch the hour hand moves in the right direction on the Tudor not back to front like the Rolex, my Tudor runs at plus 0.3 seconds fast per day whereas the Rolex runs 2 seconds slow, the date on the Tudor flicks over within seconds of midnight on my watch but the Rolex is 4 minutes after the hour like all my Rolex’s, the Tudor has 200m of water resistance vs 100m of the a Rolex. Yes, the Tudor is too thick but at 42mm the Rolex is too wide so I’ll call it quits on size. The Rolex is the higher quality watch and that is obvious with both watches in hand so one score to the Rolex there. Overall it’s an easy win for the Pro, I wear mine a lot more than my 226570.

    I go hiking a lot and I found the BB Pro to be too top heavy and that thickness doesn’t help. I typically bring my 36mm Explorer and sold my BB Pro for the similar Polar Explorer II. Love taking both Explorers out in my trips

    The Tudor was something I looked at and considered during my 18 month wait for the Polar E2. But the Polar dial was what I truly wanted along with the 42mm size for my 6’5” 260 frame. The cyclops for my old eyes was another huge plus. The Tudor just felt like a Dollar Tree version of the Explorer 2.
