  • Wiring overview for connecting an AXXESS chime/steering wheel module to an aftermarket ATOTO head unit (S8) on a 17' Chevy Express van.
Long story short: connect the solid brown wire on the extra 3.5mm female connector from AXXESS to the yellow/black SWC wire on the ATOTO head unit. leave the brown/white wire on the AXXESS 3.5 jack unhooked as well as the solid brown SWC# wire on the ATOTO head unit.
Also setup the AXXESS module as Eclipse Type2.

So thanks for the info. I have found conflicting info on what is needed for the ATOTO S8 as you probably know. Some videos claim that steering wheel adapters are not needed due to the ATOTO having an APP for learning steering wheel controls and then proceed to demonstrate. I do want to maintain my steering wheel controls, but do not want to spend needless money obviously. Did you use the Steering Wheel control app at all? I'm also dealing with a 2017 Chevy Express . It's a 3500 with a KUV on it.

The ATOTO S8 has a 3.5mm on the radio harness therefore we should assume to connect to the 3.5 with a interface. I just got off of customer service from Scosche (the wiring harness I used was GM3000SW) he said if it has a wire labeled SWC you would connect to them using the same names or numbers however since the S8 only has a 3.5 on the harness you will connect to it as the communication between factory and aftermarket will be different
