I have two labs and a rat terrier, so you’ll never find food on my floors, but you may find enough hair to create another dog.🤪 I’m definitely going to add this task to my daily routine.

I am not a paperwork person!! Never could wrap my head around a "control Journal". When Steph said she had a simpler way , I was in. I laminated the printables and using a dry erase marker! Yey! Working well!
A spot mop or cloth wipe up on the floor is a good idea. My poor floor probably should be swept much more often! Especially under the dining table & kitchen areas!! 😁 Have a lovely day Steph! 🌸🌺Your little baby boy is so cute!😘
The WHB was never enough for my floors! I have a family + a dog so I have to vac (my cordless vacuum make it so speedy) every day and mop at least every other. So thanks for adding this in and making me feel like it's not just me!!! X
I like that you are including the floor check Steph. That is something I need to do regularly because I have 2 dogs 🐕 that are in and out several times a day. And I like to walk around barefoot when the day is done without bits of things sticking to the bottoms of my feet. Lol!
I have a tiny kitchen. Floor is only 6’ x6’. Felt guilty using the dish cloth for a quick hit on the floor each night before I tossed it in the wash. No pets and just me so the floor doesn’t get that dirty. Thanks to Steph and others, I now feel like I have permission to do it this way.
I have a Dyson cordless, battery operated vacuum cleaner. Best present my husband ever gave me! I use it in our three story home every day and it makes vacuuming a breeze.

You are so right about the everyday floor check! It makes the whole house look so much cleaner! I bought a very good (but inexpensive - $150 ) stick cordless vacuum- very light - does the job and much more pleasant for me!
Oh gosh, I remember those days! My middle daughter was in preschool at the time and she did one of those Mothers Day sheets where the teacher asks her about mom and writes down the answers. Her answer to "what's your mom's favorite thing to do?" was "sweep the floor" because i was constantly sweeping up stuff so the baby wouldn't put it in her mouth. Now I have pets and 3 girls with long hair, so i have put a sweep into my morning routine.
I always called the crawling baby the human vacuum cleaner. I only let the older kids play with small toys on the table but my friends had other ways that worked too.💕
Cute hairstyle on you! I must keep floor clear for the Roomba to work properly. Dirty Hairy ( what we call the Roomba) will eat dangling cords, shoelaces. Easy since no children, or dog toys. Floor check is part of my morning and evening walk thru( what I call my routine)
Saw a funny video the other day where the roomba had picked up a cat turd and had smeared it all over the house! The video was titled "So you think you're having a bad day".
Great how you point out to make your cleaning habits work for you. Since I both got a robot vacuum (that runs every 2 days) and I use a cordless vacuum for a daily 2 minute hotspot vacuum (door mats, cat hairs from the chair, kitchen) my floors practically keep themselves clean 24/7
This is why using a robot vacuum (I love my Neato!!) with the scheduling feature is so fabulous to own!! It can be run as many times as you need to have it do so. I have my stored floor plan broken up into the 5 zones and I can have one or all zones vacuumed whenever I need to outside of the weekly schedule I have set up.
Floor check is a must for me with two shedding dogs! I actually asked for a Dust Buster for my birthday this year because I can hit a small area without having to take out the vacuum.
I definitely appreciate this one! I had already been trying to get something like this figured out(was trying to at least vacuum on M/W/F) because we have two dogs and a cat(all long haired) and vacuuming once a week was just not cutting it. Was ending up with tumblefurs rolling around the house. Felt like it wouldn't be enough for people with kids either. Glad it's not just me!
I have a husband with a beard and little hair mice show up in the bath behind the trash can. I've accused him of putting them there on purpose as I can't figure out how they get in that particular corner.
Hi Steph, I'm starting your 21days. I'm checking out videos that are 'new' to me. The floor check in my main room is important. My dog loves to collect junk and shred tissues. I need to check near my electric heaters a few times a day. I guess he takes after his human - clutter-mom:)

This was great. My children are adults now, but I sure remember the baby days. Now, when I am sweeping, getting ready to wet mop my floors, I also have my robot vacuum going. It really helps me get the sweeping done so much faster. tfs Happy Fall 🧡🧡🧡

I’ve been doing a vacuuming as part of my afternoon tasks .. I’ve a golden retriever and it’s really the only way to keep those hairs down . Great to hear your little boy is crawling ... they grow soooo fast 🥰
Thank you for this, I found it really useful. I have a pink carpet in my lounge & a yellow one in my dining room. I find that if I keep them clean that it makes a huge difference to how I feel. Every day I use a carpet sweeper (In my family we call it the push & pull) & hoover a couple of times a week. To me, having clean floors is as important as having a shiny sink.
How to have clean floors with young children: Vacuum and mop floors. Stand back and look at those shiny floors. Now watch your toddler drop cereal/beads/toast and smear sauce/yogurt/pear all over your lovely clean floors. Great job 👍 Also I have some pretty serious post partum hair loss at the moment so my bathroom and bedroom is a daily battle! Loving this series thank you for your hard work putting it together. I have dark hardwood like yours. I do mop every week. But how do you keep it looking clean thru out the week. I have a dyson so there is no dirt but it does not look like yours. Showroom clean. It only looks clean the day I mop. I use bona to mop and it’s too expensive to use everyday .
My 3rd baby swallowed a penny, the doc said see if it passes within 4 days. Waited 4 days is still didn’t come out the other side. So we took her in for an X-ray. Sure enough it was stuck right in her esophagus. Just chillin there. Had to take her in to get it removed. It was traumatic for the both of us, but especially her. Floor checks are crucial once baby gets mobile!
I have been doing daily (actually multiple times a day) doing floors. We have a nasty flea infestation so not only do I thoroughly vacuum each room AND the couch every day, I also constantly clean up puppy messes from all 3 of them (ewwwwww). And mopping it all up. Definitely takes up a lot of my time everyday, but its ok i guess. Time to rehome those cute little terrors!
I follow the fly Lady System since a couple of weeks but I really need your videos to understand it in the details!!!!! I didn‘t get it neither from the website nor from the IPhone App.
I love pulling tips from other sources too. Sometimes it the same task but with a different name that makes it click with me. Take what you can use an leave the rest.
I found this to be the case in our house. We got a Lhasa Apso who doesn't shed and our floors are cleaner from food but then we do have to do extra work from having her, walking, grooming etc so I think a quick hoover or brush around would be much handier. 😁

I sometimes do this. I just throw the cloth on the floor and use my foot to clean to save the hands and knees 😂

Yup unless you cleaned any raw meats.then don't do this. You would be smearing bacteria on the floor for baby to crawl on

Linda OMG. I do a real vac on Mondays and dust the baseboards with the Swifter, but the Roomba get the tracked in stuff twice a day for me.
