Thank you so much for jumping in with me for the next 21 days! I love hearing all about your progress, make sure to share your stories, and encourage each other in the comments!
This system is life changing. I saw your videos and Diane in Denmark..and decided “what!? Can’t possibly work but I need to try”. I did my sink.. nice.. second day I just loved the look.. so maybe try more?? On and on it went. I am SHOCKED.. this is my place??? Whaaat? This morning I was cleaning up after my breakfast, Emptied the dishwasher and put dishes in, wipe down the kitchen, dressed in shoes, put on my make up and cleaned my bathroom, and on and on it went! I am shocked! This is not the person that I have been for the last ( I wont say) how many years! it’s magic! I would say, the shining sink and the dress shoes are life altering. They just are! I’m not the same person after I do those two things. I become the person that I’ve always wanted to be! Thank you so much for all of your help and inspiration on this. I’m going to rewatch these 21 days again. I love you and Diane so much and cherish these videos. I’ve always worked full-time. Always. When the lockdown started I was furloughed from my job. Being “mature” I was stressed to return to my very risky job and decided that the time has come to retire. I was devastated and depressed..and my house showed it. I’ve never been the neatest, cleanest, or most tidy person, but I always blamed it on working full time and standing for 10-12 hours a day 5 days a week. My days off were packed full of stuff to do and/or finally relaxing. Now full stop..nothing. No friends, no work, no nothing. I sat for days on end for months ! Finally I started walking 1 hour a day and then found you and Diane...boom! Thank goodness! I live in the central valley of California and we have had horrible smoke from the wildfires and a disastrous heatwave. There was no going out for my walk because the air quality is so unhealthy-But because I was equipped with a different way of thinking about things, I found some indoor walking videos and some inspiring things to do inside! Today I came home from my walk because the air quality is better, and walked into a fresh smelling blissfully tidy home that look like somebody lives there who really cared about herself and her life! Thank you for the help in turning this around. Life is good.
Steph, I know this is from September 1st, but I noticed the title is about having a SHINY SINK. I've only just found out about the flylady system and although I am very thankful to Marla, I find that I cannot follow her entire system and have had to modify it to fit my own homemaking style. I'm at the very beginning of overhauling my homemaking journey and I've had to begin with micro baby steps and I've begun with the sink routine. One thing I'd like to offer is a way to clean the sink that may be helpful to others. Like most of us, I have tons of cleaners and some are very appropriate for cleaning the sink. However, lately I started using a little dish soap and I add about one tablespoon of BAKING SODA to the dish water. I fill the sink with really warm (almost hot) water and put some dish liquid in and the last step is adding the baking soda. I leave it for about 1-2 hours and then I don't have to scrub the sink. I clean out the sink strainer once or twice daily and put a small amount of baking soda in the strainers--maybe 1/2 teaspoon. I hope this helps someone. So far, this is the only daily routine that I have, but I'm choosing to go very slowly with this system because it often takes 21 days to really form a habit and I'd rather the new habit be very rooted before beginning another one. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your encouragement!
just got my printer runnin... :-) One tipp for everybody with a bit neglected sink to get started: fill in water and put in a cleaning tab for the dish washer and let sit there over night. The water will look kinda gross the next day, but when it is gone, the sink is really looking great. and then the next days one can do it "manually" without much hustle. So if everyone needs a kick start for the kick start ;-)
Oh my gosh, I'm so excited. I was sitting down to relax after teaching my children school; when your video poped up on my newsfeed. I decide to just get up and do it. I played your video and quickly went ran to make my bed and then shine my sink. I finshed both before your video ended! I'm so proud of myself. I don't know why I'm so excited about this; but thank you so much for all your motivation! PS: I've kind of developed my own system over the last year. After getting my house under control: I give each of my children an area be in charge of for an entire week. I gave them each a laundry day as well. On their laundry day I take care of their space. Then on Wednesdays and Saturdays I do home blessings or hot spots and yard work. I also try to remember to shine my sink and do a "swish and swipe" at the end of every day. (We have a larger family so it sometimes needs it more than once a day anyways). Okay, I'm going to get back to it. Today I have kitchen. I'm going to set my timer and try to get my fridge and or Pantry cleaned out! Nothing more motivating and starting with a clean sink. You can't really get anything clean if your sink or cleaning tools are dirty. :) Happy September 1st :)
I found your old 21 day routine on Sunday. So, yesterday, I cleaned out my fridge. I watched your old day 2... and I'm cleaning out my bathroom cabinets. I wish I had taken a before picture. My cabinets now make me happy! 😁😊❤ Update: I mixed up the declutter in 21 days with this one. Lol I'm also following along with the baby step routines as well. I'm doing it as a self check to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. 😉❤ I love your videos... they keep me on my toes. 😁
Hi Steph, You are so motivational, I too adapt the FlyLady system to suite my needs, one of the things I seldom do is set the timer! I know that works for lots of people but I just hate feeling under pressure to rush. I followed along with your last 21 baby steps... perhaps I’ll try again and give the timer a second chance! Maybe it’s what I need when I want to fit a lot into my life. Including trying my hand (although in the most cringe, amateurish way! 😝) at making TH-cam videos. Anyone who liked the English comedy show ‘Only fools and horses’ will understand... I’m a bit of a Del Boy. ‘ he who dares wins.’ 😀 Yourself and Diane are great for breaking the FlyLady system down into simple snippets. 👏👏
Steph you look georgous like always😍. It‘s 10am in Germany. All I did is eating my oats. But now I‘ll hit the bathroom, dress to shoes, and start with my weekly home blessing. Thank you so much for the motivation!!!! Love from Germany💕
I bought flyladys book 20 yrs ago and used it for years. Just found my 2 youngest kids chore chart that I used her principles with. They are now 25 and 28 and these habits have carried them into adulthood and is one of the best things I ever did for them and myself.
Hi no printer today but had an old maths book so written it out and now have that with my weekly cleaning schedule . Day 1 nearly done once I get of my bahookie
I sort of do flylady already but want to follow this as a refresher. Shining the sink went well until ... I went to put the cleanser away. I saw how grungy it was under the sink. An hour plus later it looks nice & I will appreciate that I won’t need to do it when in the kitchen zone. Now I just need to brunch and some more coffee and get to the things I planned on doing today. 😳
Thank you! This should help me get back on track after having another baby. He’s almost 4 months old and I feel like I lost all the progress I had made before he was born. I love your content and you provide so much motivation.
Steph, you are looking AMAZING! Thank you so much for the re-starter. We are in the middle of a major renovation project. I don’t know if my house will ever be clean again! But I do know that if I follow you, I’ll have the feeling that this is my home, not a construction site. Again, thanks for the motivation! Under a half inch of layer of dust, but with a SHINY SINK in Switzerland!
I am so glad I found you a week ago, and saw this in time to start with the 21 days clean up! My house needs THIS! I followed the FL about 5 years ago but didn’t get too far, and like you, I got overwhelmed with e-mail overload. Thank you so much for breaking it down and encouraging us each day.
I skipped ahead a little and made my bed this morning after not having done it for a while. Lo and behold, someone (one of my cats, that is, there’s no one else living here but me and the cats) had puked on it during the day. I was a little upset, but then realized if I hadn’t made my bed, I’d be putting my otherwise-fresh sheets into the washing machine right now, instead of the bedspread, which I’d been planning to wash anyway!
Hello Steph firstly you look great and I love your hair!! 🤩, this is great and simplified, I discovered you a year ago now......The Secret Slob caught my eye....I thought ohh I was intruiged...and I watched and thought....yippeee, this is what I've been looking for since I was 25, I am now 48!!! But a least I found you...no more isolated bouts of cleaning depression!! Thank you xxx
I have been a fan of your channel since last year and my home has never been cleaner! Thank you for your clear and concise videos! I loved your 21 day challenge and it was the inspiration for me to do my own 21 day video challenge on my channel this month! Keep up the great work Steph!!
I already do most of the steps like a habit but follow this anyway with you LOL, getting me motivated to continue with my habits and add some more steps. Thank you for the printable Steph🤗🤗
I am so glad you are doing this again. I started with you and Jill back in the summer, but I only got about three days in before I fell off the wagon. I DID, however do a huge basement purge of all the kids' toys in the downstairs play area which will now be a TV area as we have older kids. Lots of work, but really proud of myself for accomplishing that goal. Now back to FlyLady....
Hi Steph, glad to have this again, no matter where we each are its so helpful to feel that we are a community of supportive friends cheering eachother on to create our own little blessings..I will get started ..thank you
Just finished day one and getting my printable printed and stuck up on the wall! Hoping hubby will see what needs to be done and give me a hand without asking! 😆🙈 a girl can dream 😝
Thank you very much for teaching and showing us how to get started on the Flylady steps. I love your personality and when you say it doesn't have to be perfect.
Oh! I just had my first "I am not going to leave these (rinsed) dishes in my sink!" moment. Straight into the dishwasher they went. "Oh, Shiny Sink, I love you!"
I had watched some of your other videos and purchased Sink Reflections because of you. I just started to read it and now see that you are doing these 21 videos for the next 21 days. I just subscribed and will be doing as you do in the videos. Thank you so much for your help :)
Thank you so much for this! It’s almost like you read my mind- I told my kids that the day they started remote learning for the school year I was going to start the FlyLady system! Today is the first day of school so here we go!
Thank you so much for making these trackers! I have always loved the idea of the Flylady system, but get overwhelmed when I try to plan/organize it all.
I never thought shining my sink would make me feel so good! Now I feel a little obsessive about it, anyone who puts anything in my shiny sink gets the mom glare. 😂
My dishes that were not done last night are soaking as we speak. I have a really old dingy white sink and we have water that will stain. Just recently found “Bar Keepers Friend” sink scrub. Been totally amazed at how nice the sink looks so I’ve been really motivated to do the dishes each day. (Got home very late last night but was up earlier this am to get them done first thing.). I’m onboard with you for this reset. Thanks Steph as always! Hugs from Ohio. 💜🌸
I'm on board! Maybe my daughter also. I printed a second copy of the, "21 Days to a Clean Home!" list for her too! I keep a tidy home, but with great effort. I have health and mobility issues. I'm hoping this will make it easier on me. I'm older, this means breaking and changing old tiring habits! Exciting! Let's get started!!
I found flylady 17 years ago and it changed my life. I still refer to her book, Sink Reflections, for inspiration. I've really fallen off with meal planning, so I'm going to start with that.
As of today, I am on Day 21 of your original list 😆 I think I will just start over on Day 1 and try out your new list! 😄 Thank you for taking the time to create all of the printables to share.
At the end of the day I will spray my brushes and sponges with my kitchen spray so they will be cleaned up and air dried by morning. It just makes me feel like the bacteria will be removed from them more xx
I'm really liking the look of this check list. I'm going to print it out and follow along, I seem to have lost steam and I'm hoping your daily videos and checklist will get me moving in the right direction.
Literally found your channel today and started learning about this today. And while its quite confusing at first im excited too make this my way of cleaning! Thank you so much for making these videos!
Yayyyy, I'm so excited to do this along with you from South Australia! This is my second time doing your 21 days, and I'm keen to cement good habits and get back into ones that I'd let slip 👌🏼
I honestly did not watch this video, today. There was honestly no time. However, I did see the title and thought to myself, "Oh well, my sink is already shiny." But, it must have hit my subconscious because, after dinner, I did a detail clean on my "shiny" sink and it looks fantastic. Now, I will watch the video. 😂
You must have been up early when you posted this. I was up nursing my newborn (when I was notified about your video)and most of America was still sleeping.😃
I've got a soap pump to wash my hands. If you push it, the soap comes out on the front. Now I found out to rotate the bottle 180 degrees so the soap comes out at the back of the bottle, and catch a lot less soap in my fingers. This saves a lot of soap.
Your printables are simply perfect ~ I know that are homes don't need to be perfect ~ but your printable handouts are! 😇 Thank you for creating them! Much Love 🥰
HELP! Thank you Steph for this timely start! I've been following you for over about a year now and was doing decent until I began working 12 hour shifts. My new work schedule has messed me up completely. Anyone here also have this work schedule? If so, do you still keep the schedule on work days? I really don't see how I can, especially because my schedule changes every week. Any good suggestions?
For inspiration, this is my approach. Make doable morning and evening routines you are fairly certain you can do at least four times a week. (This is so you know you haven’t overloaded your basic routines, they must be doable enough for you to consistently keep them up). This category A, daily. All the rest is either stuff you want to do each week, week after week, probably some high traffic areas, (category B, weekly) or the rest, category C, zone. For zone work, just do what you can, even for 5 or 10 minutes instead of the full hour, whatever your work schedule permits. Just change the zone every week. For myself, in category A the daily routines, I needed to shift stuff between them. My morning routine must be very short, because of my and travel schedule, so I do most of those things first thing I come home at night. Then the evening routine I do after my meal. For category B, the weekly stuff, I do on my work from home day, or on a day off. If this isn’t an option that week either, I do 5 or 10 extra minutes after my meal, each day a little bit. Category C, the zone work, is either 1 full hour on another day off that week, or I split it in 2 half hour chunks and do them in two different days. Usually on weeks with long hours, I cannot find 4 separate chunks of time to zone cleaning, but this could be for you. This way i find it manageable. Steph will show you in a lot of her videos how to adapt this schedule to your own restrictions. Hope this helps, you can do it!
Thank you so much for jumping in with me for the next 21 days! I love hearing all about your progress, make sure to share your stories, and encourage each other in the comments!

You're one of a handful of TH-camrs that I let the ads play. Your videos have helped me so much!
Aw thank you 💜💜🙂 that makes a difference for me !🥰

Honestly you can never go wrong by repeating and reinforcing the Baby steps it'll be nice to see this new and improved version
Hi no printer today but had an old maths book so written it out and now have that with my weekly cleaning schedule . Day 1 nearly done once I get of my bahookie
I don't have a printer either, so I'll be copying it out too
I've been watching your videos for weeks and today I'm jumping in with both feet!!! Thank you so much!!!
Same😊
Awesome!!
I sort of do flylady already but want to follow this as a refresher.

I just started doing this the last few days and yesterday I didn't because I felt horrible. So, timely. I will not give up. Thank you, Steph.
Leslie Dras just jump back in where you are! We all have days like this!
Keep going, sweetie, but make sure to rest. Xx
Started shining the sink last night when I couldn't sleep! Felt so good. Highly recommended to everyone.
I think it is time to start over and get back on track. It is so easy to get off track! Thanks for starting over !!!
Thanks Steph... my motivator when I don't feel like doing anything I just watch your videos 😀♥️...love to shine my sink makes me smile💕
Thank you! This should help me get back on track after having another baby. He’s almost 4 months old and I feel like I lost all the progress I had made before he was born. I love your content and you provide so much motivation.
Thank you. I’m going to join you a day late from Melbourne, Australia. This is going to make a huge difference.
A fresh start to a clean house. Thank you Steph.🤗
Thank you so much Stephanie!! Your videos have made such a difference in my life! You're always super positive.
Thanks for doing this, it’s nice to have a fresh start!
"Once begun, the job's half-done."

Good Morning!☀️ Your tips always make getting the house clean and organized better! Thank you so much!🤸🏾♀️🌹👏
I already do most of the steps like a habit but follow this anyway with you LOL, getting me motivated to continue with my habits and add some more steps. Thank you for the printable Steph🤗🤗
Thank goodness 😅 you posted this vid! I had forgotten about the challenge! Today is the day to start the fun 🧼
Woo Hoo!! Here we go. On to progress without the perfection👍🏼👍🏼
I am super stoked to see this reset. On way to a shiny sink!
I am so glad you are doing this again. I started with you and Jill back in the summer, but I only got about three days in before I fell off the wagon. Thanks Steph. I’ll follow along this journey and I’m crossing my fingers I get to the end. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I don't need to cross my fingers - we are BOTH going to get to the end. Have a great day and month.
Hi !love love your encouragement when I found you on TH-cam I started shining my sink and I keep my dishes done so much better!!
Just finished day one and getting my printable printed and stuck up on the wall! Hoping hubby will see what needs to be done and give me a hand without asking! 😆🙈 a girl can dream 😝
Gosh your hair is looking suuuuuper cute these last few videos!!! 🥰
Thank you very much for teaching and showing us how to get started on the Flylady steps. I love your personality and when you say it doesn't have to be perfect.
Bar Keepers Friend makes sinks super shiny!
Thank you so much! Feels like you’re taking our hand and guiding us through. It doesn’t feel overwhelming that way!
Thank you, Steph. ❤
Thank you so much for this! It’s almost like you read my mind- I told my kids that the day they started remote learning for the school year I was going to start the FlyLady system! Today is the first day of school so here we go!
It’s like another new year for me so a good time to start new routines :)
Omg! So glad you're back with the DAILY motivation!!!!!! I'm so off the wagon, and ready to get back on track
I'll join you with the 21 baby steps. ❤️😘
Ok. I’m going to give this a shot.. AGAIN! 🤦🏻♀️.....thanks for the chart!! 💙😊
Thank you so much for making these trackers! I have always loved the idea of the Flylady system, but get overwhelmed when I try to plan/organize it all.
Good to see you using bar soap which reduces using the plastic handsoap bottles.
I never thought shining my sink would make me feel so good! Now I feel a little obsessive about it, anyone who puts anything in my shiny sink gets the mom glare. 😂
🤣
You're right feels so surprisingly good!!
Love your hair cut!!
Thanks Steph. Looking forward to the 21 day journey. Your printable is awesome. Thanks again.❤️🌻
Thanks for this! I love these baby steps to get a better home and life. This is something I really needed.
Oh it’s a new updated sheet!! Heading to bed but will print it out in the morning!
Thank you so much! I am joining tonight with the shiny sink!
My dishes that were not done last night are soaking as we speak. I have a really old dingy white sink and we have water that will stain. Just recently found “Bar Keepers Friend” sink scrub. From 🇨🇦. Looking forward to each coming day.
I love and appreciate the short videos!!! newbie here your videos are a big help to this mama
So glad to join you again!
Going to wake up to a shiny sink. Thank you
Love that you're doing this so I can follow along! 😊😊
Thanks Steph! I’m following along and many of the 21 steps have become part of my daily routines. I appreciate you and your sister too
Thanks! You're so motivating to watch.
Thx for the new sheet. I love it! Also your new haircut is so cute. Loved it bf but this cut is cute also. 💜💜
That’s great!!
Love, love, love this printable starting over AGAIN!!! Love your videos you are so upbeat and encouraging!
I love my clean sink! ❤️
Thanks Steph!! I’m so glad you’re doing this right now. It’s so motivating to be doing this along with you!! 💜💜💜💜
Thank you! I'm in. It's the perfect moment to me! I needed that, right now!
Been following you for a while. I’m hoping doing this with you in real time will help cement some good habits! Thanks for these!
I am sooo excited to get started on this!!
Got my printable yesterday 💜
Thank yu for this intelligent way of helping us 😍😍🌷🌺🌹🌹🌸🌸
I can’t find the freebie print out for this ?
Thanks! I have read the book a couple of times but have never really implemented it properly!
Gracias por todo, de verdad no creo que imagines el ánimo que me has dado con tu ejemplo, gracias de verdad !
Thank you for sharing your video! I will be joining you! I am going to print the paper and shine my sink today!
The website is not working anymore? Can't download this template
Shined my sink tonight after the dishes were done.
Yayyyy, I'm so excited to do this along with you from South Australia! This is my second time doing your 21 days, and I'm keen to cement good habits and get back into ones that I'd let slip 👌🏼
Am on it!! Happy tuesday !!
I’m so excited to do this for 21 days
I honestly did not watch this video, today. There was honestly no time. However, I did see the title and thought to myself, "Oh well, my sink is already shiny." But, it must have hit my subconscious because, after dinner, I did a detail clean on my "shiny" sink and it looks fantastic. Now, I will watch the video. 😂
Love it! Also your hair! Looks chic ❤️
You must have been up early when you posted this. I was up nursing my newborn (when I was notified about your video)and most of America was still sleeping.😃
Haha I put it on a posting schedule... even though I likely was up anyways at that time with my baby!
Going into my kitchen right now!!!!!
Doing the 21 days challenge and participating in the fb group! Love it!
I've got a soap pump to wash my hands. If you push it, the soap comes out on the front. Now I found out to rotate the bottle 180 degrees so the soap comes out at the back of the bottle, and catch a lot less soap in my fingers. This saves a lot of soap.
Excited to get started!
Your printables are simply perfect ~ I know that are homes don't need to be perfect ~ but your printable handouts are! 😇 Thank you for creating them! Much Love 🥰
Thank you for your help.
This is wonderful, thank you, I am so excited for this!!
Thank you Steph!
