That's why I quit facebook and never got instagram. I just know that it takes to much time out of my day. But I love youtube because it helps me to listen to someone while I am doing something. It is just like a radio but I can decide whom I want to listen to talk about what interests me. Videos are also often my timer. Then I just tidy and declutter one area as long as the video lasts.
I deleted the FB app off my phone. It was a time sucker! We still have it but on our iPad and I rarely use it, but when I do it just sucks me in again. I'd be happy to ditch it completely but I do use it for marketplace buying and selling and some homeschool groups. And I'm like you I never signed up for Twitter or Instagram. No thanks. I totally agree that TH-cam is way better for choosing what your watching or listening to verses being force fed the never ending feed.
I dealt with my 6000+ emails beginning of week and I’ve unsubscribed to many again. Seems like they don’t get the message. My photos are overwhelming. So I decided that in September I deal with the photos taken in September of prior years. In October, I’ll deal with October, etc. I’m also printing out photos from September for a family project I’ve been wanting to do but was again overwhelmed with starting. I have 5 children, 16 grands and 12 greats so it can be daunting.
I love that idea of deleting photos from years prior to match our current month. Thanks for sharing! Looking at old photos is easier to delete then having to go through recent ones and delete.
I heard that if you unsubscribe to junk emails that advertisers will find another way of getting you to buy, or a virus will get on your device. Is that true?
Janice Jettsitter, I’m not sure but if I didn’t subscribe and they ask for my email to complete unsubscribe, I don’t give it to them. I just keep putting it as junk. Don’t know if that helps but it makes me feel better. 🙃
You know, it's kind of perfect that this was yesterday's focus. I have a really really hard time emotionally on September 11th. I was an 11 year old American, living in the Middle East and watched it in real time, so it's all very real for me and my family. With all of the in depth stories that my friends post, I pretty much always forget it's that day and fall into reading one...or 5.... and then I'm a wreck for hours with the bawling, and just being an emotional mess. This year, even before reading what today's focus was, I determined to stay off of social media. It helped tremendously. I got through the day and I was super productive. Thank you.
The best thing I’ve ever done is turn off app notifications. Something about the red notification in the corner of the app makes me feel the need to check it right then. Now I just check my apps when I want. Great video as always!!
I had to detox from Facebook a few weeks ago. I stayed off completely for three days. After that, I've been checking Facebook for a few minutes every other day. Its been so freeing! Earlier this week, I cleaned the inbox completely for my Yahoo mail. That feels amazing! I'm working on my Gmail now. Progress over perfection! Thanks so much for the motivation, Steph!
Yep. That's me. If I start with the phone or computer in the morning, I don't get off it until lunchtime. It's my worst habit. I've turned into a watcher, instead of a doer.
I switched off all social media app notifications on my phone. I also moved the icons off my homescreen and dumped them all in one folder on the next screen. Now I only see them when I decide I have time to sit and scroll. "Out of sight, out of mind" works in more ways than one 🙂
I never have notifications on for anything. They drive me nuts. Also mark all emails as read every day after skimming inbox for anything important. Red numbers trigger my ocd

My internet addiction has ramped up during the covid pandemic. Somedays I spend 14 hrs mindlessly surfing the internet researching whatever strikes my fancy. The addiction intensity waxes and wanes, but today it feels really bad; it feels like my ass is glued to the sofa and stepping away feels nearly impossible. I'm seriously considering getting rid of my laptop and using my tiny iPhone SE as my main internet device., which I find much less engaging than my laptop. I'm hoping the void from not being able to get my laptop dopamine fix will compel me to do many things I've been putting off because of the pull of the internet vortex.
I’m not a phone addict. At all. I feel sorry for kids today and the millennials who have grown up with this. I can get to the evening without even looking at my phone apps or facebook. My ipad is my baby but big enough to be something you have to sit down and actively check.
a quick hack from Minimal Mom to bring up all your unread e-mails in:unread This will bring up just your unread and then pretty easy to highlight all and delete a page at a time.
I’ve been deleting a lot of apps off my phone and iPad! I’m so happy I’m doing that. Also cleaning up TH-cam which means deleting a lot of accounts that are not serving me right now! Not yours! 😂
My favourite piece of advice is to unsubscribe from email mailing lists (even if they are good ones) if they are not currently serving you. You can always subscribe again later.
I am horrible about my email. I downloaded an app to help me delete. I deleted or made a folder for almost 23,642 emails. I really need to do better about deleting the junk
Does this kind of application exist? I am very interested to get orne. I love internet, but it's a black Hole. I am going to delete the useless Mail, Box is exploding Bye.
Yes. And unsubscribe. I just unsubscribed from Quora digest. I would find myself spending an hour++ reading peoples questions and answers. Really... I have more important things to do.

Good idea👏👏👏👍😘
Hi Steph, I found out there’s a digital timer setting in TH-cam. After 15 minutes, it asks me whether I want to continue
Ok, while I'm on my phone.... what mascara are you using?? Those lashes!!!!
Really inspiring videos
Great advice! ❤️
I can’t deal with icons that are telling me there’s a notification. It makes me want to throw things
Is it okay if I sit on my Chesterfield to do it?
Is there also a time tracker for You tube?
What do you do with emails that you need to do something with but not right away?? My inbox is out of control!
Now phones can control the time you spend in them. Or apps that block them in whatever time you set.
Which of the flylady 31 baby steps have been excluded?
We could compare with 'Diane with Denmark's" , 31 baby steps
Basically the ones where we aren't actually taking ACTION to improve the state of our housework.
The ones that don't actually have to do with cleaning. You can go to the FL website and print out the 31 steps if you want to compare.
Those emails made me crazy!!
I just delete my devices while I watch the nighttime news. I do not get much.
I am horrible about my email. I downloaded an app to help me delete. I deleted or made a folder for almost 23,642 emails. I really need to do better about deleting the junk
Am I first? Wow!
Does this kind of application exist? I am very interested to get orne. I love internet, but it's a black Hole.
I am going to delete the useless Mail, Box is exploding Bye.
Pinterest is my rabbit hole😭😂
I’m with you there! I had to delete and unsubscribe in the end as I was spending too much time pinning stuff.
I can’t do this... TH-cam is my time user🤣
😍👍
Clean out your texts also!
Yes. And unsubscribe. I just unsubscribed from Quora digest. I would find myself spending an hour++ reading peoples questions and answers. Really... I have more important things to do.
