This was a really great explanation to simplify things. I am a floundering flybaby but love your enthusiasm and positiveness. One item to add is that, especially for working moms, the weekly home blessing can be split up over the week if they dont have time just on Monday. Thank you again for all you do for us. Today is my FlyLady ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! I’m so grateful for this system. It has improved every aspect of my home life. With 4 kids (ages 8-17), it has been a godsend. A word to the newbies: I spent the first 10 months JUST getting my daily routines down pat. In fact, the only routine I did for the first 6 weeks was shining my sink at night before bed. It’s all that I could handle at that point in my life. And it has only been in the past two months that I’ve been able to add zone cleaning. There is no “one way” to the FlyLady system. Marla Cilly (the FlyLady) always says that housework done incompletely still blesses your family.

The Fly Lady got her system from Pam Young and Peggy Jones, the Slob Sisters who wrote at least 4 books, which I have at home. Their slogan was, "We save lives with 3 x 5s". And it is so very true.
I found the Fly Lady years ago when I was still married and a stay at home mom. Her system worked great for me then. I used it (combined with other things) to maintain my home. It worked great. I haven't had a system since before 2014 and it shows. I promised myself that I would find a way to make it work as a single, working mom of four. Part of my plan is to put the kids to work to complete some of these tasks! ❤️. Your video helped a lot! I just needed a quick template to get started again!
I sent it to a 17 year old great grand daughter who is starting to want to get more organization in her life. Not sure if it will help, but I thought she would enjoy this young woman's great personality and sincerity! I do!

I've been a Flybaby ever since my daughter was a little tiny girl, and now she's 22! I've somewhat fallen off the flywagon now and again, but the basic strategies and mentality never really left me. The setting a timer and realizing just how LITTLE time most tasks actually take, has been an enormous benefit for which I am forever grateful. It's so fabulous how many people's lives have been improved by Marla, all because she had the courage to share her struggles and her brilliant problem solving mind with all of us.

When you offered the printables, I thought that was a great idea. I printed each one, studied it, trying to make it work for my house and was still confused. This video was what I needed. Clear, concise, and in black and white. This described exactly how the tasks fit in the time frame. Love your enthusiasm and the occasional appearances by all your family members. Steph, you and a few other Fly lady followers won me over to Flylady after 3 years of following another system! I picked up Flylady habits and routines by default while watching videos like yours and others along the way, and finally, 2-ish months ago, I decided to just go with Flylady, and focus on 1 or a few routines or habits at a time, letting them sink in before intentionally adding more...however long it takes to make it a habit. Right now, it's getting morning and evening routines diwn more efficiently. And building my control journal. Dress to shoes, swish and swipe weekly Home Blessing, shine my sink and the zone cleaning are solidly in place. Flylady really is the easiest, most well-balanced and easiest to adapt, than all the others as far as I'm concerned, once you figure it out. I have alot of respect for the other system I was using, to get me started, but I give you and the other beautiful flylady ladies credit for winning my heart to this system. Thank you ❤

I started using your printable this week. I really like them. It seems they are helping me stay on task throughout the day. I leave it on my kitchen counter near my sink and check things off as they get done. I think this is the answer to getting me on track. Thanks for providing them.

You have not only have introduced this system to me (I had never heard of it until finding your channel) but it has completely changed my approach to keeping my house clean & organized. FANTASTIC video!!! I’m struggling right now because I’m spending lots of time at my sister’s house, and coming home for a day or two to keep up with the yard. So I’m home enough that it still needs some cleaning, but my usual Flylady routines don’t fit right now. While listening to you, I came up with a way to try the routines in a way that will keep up with the basic things. Your consistent reminders that we need to build routines that fit our own house and schedule are so encouraging!!! Thank you!!! ❤️
Been following you Steph for about a year now and the past couple of months I've been focusing on adding the swish and swipe. Took a while to get it going but now I'm doing it every couple of days in each bathroom and absolutely love having shiny sinks, counters and toilets! I looked at the website and her videos. The website is chaotic and there are 2.2 thousand videos. I wanted a simple list of what to do and how to break them down over each day and each week. This helps, thank you. I meal plan once a month (no prep) for the whole month. I find that extremely helpful!

Finally getting my house cleaned thanks to your videos. In another video you talked about breaking up the Weekly Home Blessing into 10 minutes 6 days a week and I love doing it that way. I was already doing something like that but adding the zone cleaning alongside and making it strictly 10 minutes means I actually get things done and I'm not so sweaty and tired that I never want to clean again lol.

I have started using the Flylady app for my routines and it is working wonderfully. Thank you for carefully explaining Zone cleaning and the Daily Focus mission. The features are on the app, but I had largely ignored them because I did not understand them and neither had I taken the time to read through them. I sat and watched your video while having breakfast after getting all of my "morning routines" completed. Thanks again for your motivation!!! I've never made it very far into flylady... It's overwhelming. I also got a little defensive about the need to swish the bathroom... She didn't seem to provide a reason for doing that everyday. However, my kids are about as bad as a muddy dog, so one of my bathrooms could probably benefit from a daily swish at this point. You made this very simple... Now I just need to somehow print this checklist out... Last time I tried to implement flylady, it made my week so much smoother... But I also fell into bed totally exhausted at the end of the day. I guess I didn't stick with it because I felt a bit depressed about running ragged by the end of the day. Felt like I had zero time for me. Energy limitations & depression seems to be my biggest challenges.

Hi Steph, I just want to give a bid thanks to you and the fly lady system. I have decluttered and am now using this system to clean in a way I never thought possible. I did my first ever zone clean this week and am amazed and proud of how clean my house looks and feels in just 15 minutes each day. Thank-you for breaking the fly lady system down so it’s easy to understand for those who feel overwhelmed by all the house cleaning that needs to be done and not being able to start. Even after a long day at work when the last thing I want to do is clean, I remind myself it’s only 15 minutes and I get it done and the time goes so quick. I now have to stop myself cleaning longer. You are a gem 👏
Ok this is the first time I’ve ever heard of the fly lady system! I’ve been a full time mum for over 4 years and I quite often feel like things are chaotic and I feel so overwhelmed and mad at myself that I can’t keep my house in order to my standards. I’m so excited there’s this info available. I’m gonna get started on a routine! Yay!
Thanks so much for doing & sharing all of this. I got frustrated with the FlyLady System & quit. I got really behind on the house & I’m going to try out your worksheets & tweek it to work for me. The thing that got me to try it again was you mentioning that it takes you a couple of cycles to check everything off in a zone & that it takes you about two months to zone clean the entire house. Sometimes I spend so much time doing chores, I don’t get the Blessing Hour or Zone Cleaning. I still got check marks today & it’s much better than this morning & I went to the pool. I’ll just pick up tomorrow.

I print them out and keep on a clipboard that moves around with me. My house is looking great! Steph, this is a great video. One thing I find interesting about all the fly lady videos that I have watched is that it seems that everyone only takes 5 minutes to get ready in the morning! I’m a morning showerer, so it takes me a good 45 minutes to shower, dry my hair and minimal makeup. Isn’t it interesting how we are all so different? I want to thank you so much for your videos. They are definitely helping me and when I feel my motivation lagging, I just pick one and watch it to help!

Wooo this is totally overwhelming! I’m so glad there are so many different ways for different people! Just searched for Flylady as I’ve been seeing things about it on TH-cam as I’ve started following different cleaning/decluttering women. Dana K White’s methods work the best for me and I’ve found my house so much easier to keep up just since I decluttered a bunch of stuff! Dana’s idea of clutter threshold just makes sense to my brain. Check her out if you find this Flylady system to be overwhelming or different than how your brain works. We’re all different and don’t all do things the same way ❤️

FANTASTIC video!!! I’m struggling right now because I’m spending lots of time at my sister’s house, and coming home for a day or two to keep up with the yard. So I’m home enough that it still needs some cleaning, but my usual Flylady routines don’t fit right now. While listening to you, I came up with a way to try the routines in a way that will keep up with the basic things. Your consistent reminders that we need to build routines that fit our own house and schedule are so encouraging!!! Thank you!!! ❤️
Been following you Steph for about a year now and the past couple of months I've been focusing on adding the swish and swipe. Took a while to get it going but now I'm doing it every couple of days in each bathroom and absolutely love having shiny sinks, counters and toilets! So thankful I found you and your approach to the fly lady system 💖 my home has never looked better 😁

I looked at the website and her videos. The website is chaotic and there are 2.2 thousand videos. I wanted a simple list of what to do and how to break them down over each day and each week. This helps, thank you. I meal plan once a month (no prep) for the whole month. I find that extremely helpful!

I followed Flylady years ago (2000 to about 2008 when my life went pear-shaped again... Since then I've struggled and slipped back into my old cluttered, slovenly ways. I've been following your channel for a bit and you've given me the kick in the butt to start again!

Finally getting my house cleaned thanks to your videos. In another video you talked about breaking up the Weekly Home Blessing into 10 minutes 6 days a week and I love doing it that way. I was already doing something like that but adding the zone cleaning alongside and making it strictly 10 minutes means I actually get things done and I'm not so sweaty and tired that I never want to clean again lol.

Hello from deep South Texas! Thank you so much for such an awesome, insightful and helpful video. I am a teacher, who tries to undo a year's worth of "house neglect" in the summers. I have started using the Flylady app for my routines and it is working wonderfully. Thank you for carefully explaining Zone cleaning and the Daily Focus mission. The features are on the app, but I had largely ignored them because I did not understand them and neither had I taken the time to read through them. I sat and watched your video while having breakfast after getting all of my "morning routines" completed. Thanks again for your motivation!!! That was awesome! I’ve been following along for the last year and seeing the visual was so helpful! My problem is not letting other things derail me. We’ve got lots of homestead projects to get done and I leave the house for last. Then it gets overwhelming again. I’ve got to work on that! I've never made it very far into flylady... It's overwhelming. I also got a little defensive about the need to swish the bathroom... She didn't seem to provide a reason for doing that everyday. However, my kids are about as bad as a muddy dog, so one of my bathrooms could probably benefit from a daily swish at this point.
You made this very simple... Now I just need to somehow print this checklist out...
Last time I tried to implement flylady, it made my week so much smoother... But I also fell into bed totally exhausted at the end of the day. I guess I didn't stick with it because I felt a bit depressed about running ragged by the end of the day. Felt like I had zero time for me. Energy limitations & depression seems to be my biggest challenges.

Hi Steph, I just want to give a bid thanks to you and the fly lady system. I have decluttered and am now using this system to clean in a way I never thought possible. I did my first ever zone clean this week and am amazed and proud of how clean my house looks and feels in just 15 minutes each day. Thank-you for breaking the fly lady system down so it’s easy to understand for those who feel overwhelmed by all the house cleaning that needs to be done and not being able to start. Even after a long day at work when the last thing I want to do is clean, I remind myself it’s only 15 minutes and I get it done and the time goes so quick. I now have to stop myself cleaning longer. You are a gem 👏
Ok this is the first time I’ve ever heard of the fly lady system! I’ve been a full time mum for over 4 years and I quite often feel like things are chaotic and I feel so overwhelmed and mad at myself that I can’t keep my house in order to my standards. I’m so excited there’s this info available. I’m gonna get started on a routine! Yay!

I got really behind on the house & I’m going to try out your worksheets & tweek it to work for me. The thing that got me to try it again was you mentioning that it takes you a couple of cycles to check everything off in a zone & that it takes you about two months to zone clean the entire house.
Sometimes I spend so much time doing chores, I don’t get the Blessing Hour or Zone Cleaning. I still got check marks today & it’s much better than this morning & I went to the pool. I’ll just pick up tomorrow.

I love your content! In 2007, when I had my daughter, I was an utter mess! I found Fly Lady's podcast and it really made sense to me! But I clung to "perfectionism." I ordered the Control Journal, but I kept postponing using it with the excuse that I didn't want to "kind of" do it 🤣! You are super-relatable and inspiring! Thank you for breaking it down so nicely!

I print them out and keep on a clipboard that moves around with me. My house is looking great! I even invite my mother over for dinner each week now (her house is always picture perfect) because my house is clean. Don't change a thing about your videos, just keep them coming!

Steph, this is a great video. One thing I find interesting about all the fly lady videos that I have watched is that it seems that everyone only takes 5 minutes to get ready in the morning! I’m a morning showerer, so it takes me a good 45 minutes to shower, dry my hair and minimal makeup. Isn’t it interesting how we are all so different? I want to thank you so much for your videos. They are definitely helping me and when I feel my motivation lagging, I just pick one and watch it to help!

I love this breakdown. We recently moved and still have things to unpack and put away. I feel kind of overwhelmed and I work 5 days a week outside the home. Wooo this is totally overwhelming! I’m so glad there are so many different ways for different people! Just searched for Flylady as I’ve been seeing things about it on TH-cam as I’ve started following different cleaning/decluttering women. Dana K White’s methods work the best for me and I’ve found my house so much easier to keep up just since I decluttered a bunch of stuff! Dana’s idea of clutter threshold just makes sense to my brain. Check her out if you find this Flylady system to be overwhelming or different than how your brain works. We’re all different and don’t all do things the same way ❤️
