      @@michelleangel2559after 4 weeks of being on a custom made cast ( that they took of my knee in hospital) Almost 90 % of the inflammation is gone and I can stand up on both legs equally . Thank the doctor because he asked how old I was , to which I replied 62 , he then said your tear is of the worst type of injury , and let’s wait and see in 2 months how much the body will heal itself.

    I just left chiropractor for my back showed him my knees as well and sure enough on my inner left knee he said I have a meniscus tear but to get X-rays because I also have a bone on inner left knee that sticks out more than right . When I was young kid i was playing football and a bigger kid tackled me and I felt and heard a pop.
    But the meniscus clicking I'm having is from when I worked at a warehouse. Never thought anything of the bulging knee because I also have a flared rib .
    But chiro told me it's not normal and to get X-ray done .
    My back is much better now though

    Orthopedic surgeons actually told me the more common advice is to NOT repair but instead to shave off the torn meniscus. Repairs cause you to take much longer to recover apparently because you can't even touch the ground after surgery for first few months. A shaving of meniscus will instead allow you to put pressure on your knee the second day after surgery so you do physio immediately after surgery because the longer you wait, the more muscle atrophy you get. I've done the shaving surgery.

      They set you up for an early full knee replacement so get prepared for it. That’s was their real goal.
      Surgeons make their most money from surgeries. Unfortunately, lot of people fall for it.

      @ReasonablySpeaking9808 correct. I had 60% trimmed out. No repair was even mention pre surgery. When it got worse in 6 months he wanted to give me a replacement at 47. Young surgeon motivated by money

      @@robwilliam7858 my surgeon tried that too, but pre-op, I found him to be too excited for surgery and my instincts told me to cancel on him. I did. He was so mad about it! I swear he took it personal, but I am aware that this is business as usual to them.
      I’m sorry you had to go through this mess. They failed you because they withheld other options that were available to you.

      @@Alemorjoy22 it turns out his pcl was fine. His lateral meniscus had a tear and doc removed. His mcl was not bad and was re-enforced. With that said get a second opinion and go to physical therapy!! I wish I got a second opinion. I hate the fact the the meniscus was partially removed but my son wanted to be back in time for football and his knee was giving issues. But I feel we rushed things. He's doing fine now. His knee is numb in some areas but doc said that's normal and could last for up to a year. He goes for his 1st PT appt. this week. Praying for a complete recovery. Good luck with your decision. Are you going through surgery then? I have the same issue, but I am a bit afraid of a failed surgery as it involves risks and having a worse permanent knee. For me it's just painful when I put a bit of stress when cycling or running

    • @joelsaravia1028
      @joelsaravia1028 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ch0293 my tear was considered “minor” so it doesn’t hurt as much as long as I don’t overdo it. No surgery needed at the moment. That being said, after physical therapy I started doing leg workouts every week/massages. Plus I drink protein/collagen everyday. Anything that can benefit the knee to avoid the pain as much as possible is a plus. If you’re constantly going through pain to the point that it’s affecting your every day tasks then surgery might be the best option.
