Finally. After watching at least a dozen videos trying to determine if I have a torn meniscus or ACL, this video, with three simple tests, definitely confirmed it's a meniscus tear. I never had any swelling or clicking/popping sounds as mentioned in other videos and I never was pressing hard enough as mentioned in this videio to feel any pain. I can do body weight squats w/o hardly any pain but going up, and especially down, stairs is painful and the duck walk is impossible for me to do. Now, the question is: What can I do about it?

However, being an active athlete in my 70's, with PF partial knee replacements, I can't do something like the duck walk without pain on my best days (and have been told by my surgeon not to try such things). However three days ago all three tests were painful and I have been resting the knee since (for past few days). Since the injury, knee pain comes back every now and then, depending on activities I make. I was able to run some time after the injury, however lately running has been painfull. I injured my knee while crawling on hard surface yesterday. Intense pain without popping or locking. I could bend and straighten knee but weight baring while knee slightly bent forward an inch is very painful, unable to walk due to it. I have full range of motion without pain, I can bend knee up to chest and lower without any pain. I can twist legs sideways, no pain. The only pain I feel is when I'm standing and bend the knee forward (Slightly lower myself) an inch, that's when pain appears. If I continue the bending further, it goes away. I could squat in position and raise back up without pain, except that one spot as I slightly bend the knee about an inch while baring weight (this move does not hurt if I do it while in bed). When I palp with my thumb at inner side of knee, about an inch or so away from knee as shown in your video where bones meet next to the soft spot, I feel pain as I push deep, this is the only test that hurts. What do you thing? sounds like a tear? If not better by tomorrow I shall go to a doctor. Thank you for your video!

That duck walk looks like something you would want to do to tear your meniscus. How many people above 50 would be able to safely duck walk without at least some kind of discomfort or risk of injury? I have learned my lesson following some stupid YT robot man shoulder exercise on my perfectly fine shoulder, now I still have some soreness 1 year later.

I started running for a week on the trend mill and both knees hurt in the medial collateral ligament. If I walk for more than 5 minutes they hurt and get hot and swallen and I need to take anti inflammatory pill for the pain to stop. I also use ice and ice spray. When I relax the pain decreases a lot but if I stand up for a while and walk a little bit both knees hurt. Also when I wake in the morning and stand up my knees hurt.

Sounds like my problem. Just bending the knee often feels sore and pushing against the soft part in that area brings sensation. Just sitting on bed with knees bent soon brings discomfort to the knee. Talk about pain. 😭 5 weeks ago, I was Spring cleaning, I lifted a picture off my fireplace mantle- not that heavy - but I repeated the same motion as last time. For example a moderate effusion for any reason will be painful with full flexion during Duck Walk or simple bending and joint space tenderness could be coronary lig, MCL or just from the effusion that the patient can't differentiate.

If all the doctors will be like you in the first instance, there will be far fewer people in pain and healed as soon as possible, but unfortunately, most of them are afraid to do their job properly. I don't get it, they just prolong your pain for more than 15 or 20 years in some cases, giving you painkillers till knee replacement comes. Of course, after you reach the age of 65.
