Yo "I Believe" is also a banger, and I think an analysis of both this song and her oposite "Throw your Mask Away" would be an awesome video.
Notably this song plays at the end of each palace where you try to steal the palace's "treasure"
It's very much a song of "fuck you, nothing can stop us now".
Because arguably it is the anthem of the thieves when they have the upper hand and it now only a countdown till they win.
my favorite detail about it is how it's an instrumental version up until you replay the casino sequence with all the context of the last 70 hours or so, where it gains lyrics again. really a magical feeling experiencing it for the first time
"Daredevil," which serves the same function in Persona 5 Strikers, REALLY drives that home. It's a total victory lap of a song; "we've done this shit so many times already, you fucked around and now you're gonna find out"
Also notably: it only has lyrics in the last palace or two. In all previous palaces, there is no singing. Might explain why Marco doesn't remember the song.
I would pay a whoooole pile of money to have my memory of PS5 Royal erased so I could experience it fresh and catch all those amazing layers for the first time...

This song is my most favourite in Persona 5, including Royal. It really is the anthem of the Phantom Thieves.
To add context as a reminder for you. This song starts before your final run at each of the dungeon for the treasure. Right after each of the boss proclaim to you that "You punks just try to come at me, I will be guarded and ready to kick yo arse". This song is your reply that "Yeah, we will be there, and nothing will stop us".
Digging further into the lyrics, it really is the anthem to raise your flag and fight against something. Injustice, corruption, exploitation. It is the song about you, about all of us having enough of something controlling our lives and we will now take the matters into our own hands, and to also deny the claim that our voices are just small part of the society. No, we exist, and we are coming for you.
I literally just watched Drumrolltony and Alex Moukala's reaction and breakdown of Persona 5 music, and also Lyn Inaizumi's live performance which was uploaded years or months ago and then this video gets recommended to me and I was like "Oh, MarcoMeatball also did a breakdown, might as well watch it." while not realizing that this is just uploaded 4 hours ago.

I recently had my first (and second, third, etc) playthrough of persona 5 and loved the concept of this song but struggled to put in words what is it about, and i think you nailed it! Reclaiming Life. This theme plays as soon as you start the final stage of every palace heist. As you stand against whatever distorded desire said palace is built upon, this theme builds to a roar in the background like an anthem.
Ah... Life Will Change? The track where you take your final swing at a Palace - the rush towards the big bad Boss. I'm not receptive to jazz, but this sucker? I was genuinely grinning ear to ear when I first heard it play!
At the 110 hour mark, though? My first playthrough clocked in at ~130-140 hours, IIRC. You were (are...?) so close to the finishing line...
I can never hear this song again without the Onegai Muscle mix...
Easily my favourite song in Persona 5.

Life Will Change is still one of the most motivating songs in P5's soundtrack, and one of the few I can listen to for hours at a time. Genuinely a near-perfect song for what it's going for. I only say near-perfect because I Believe is actually just Life Will Change 2 but EVEN MORE MOTIVATIONAL and EVEN MORE BANGER so yeah go listen to that as well

NICE! In my opinion the Persona games are worth it for the music. Playing Persona 5 Royal in the summer of 2020 was a good time as I had a lot of spare time then, however it was the entry drug into Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Reload. Even going back and listening to the music sung by Yumi Kawamura on the remake of the original game Shin Megami Tensei: Persona has been a treat.

I did P4 before P5.....NEVER DO THAT! P5 is better than P4 in all form aspect, but in the substance, P4 is WAY better. Better characters, scenario, plots, writing.... but P5 is funnier in all other aspect. So play P5 first, and P4 after, or you will, like me, ruin your P5 experience :'(
When you you said you stopped near the end, did you mean the vanilla ver or royal ? Cuz royal has many more even better songs and story section.

The best ways I've been able to describe the p5 soundtrack to others are 1) If p funk, the jacksons, and similar met the colors red and black 2) Sex in your ears

It's interesting that this plays in the very beginning of the game, but then it's always the instrumental version up until you "catch up" to the present.

My favorite track from Persona 5 Royal is “Keep Your Faith”. While its lyrical counterpart, “Throw Away Your Mask”, is one that most people think of regarding that point of the game, the instrumentals of “Keep Your Faith” really conveys the emotion of the situation at hand. I saw a comment from forever ago that the guitar sounds like it’s crying and every time I listen to the track, I can’t not feel the same.

For how long Persona 5 is, (assuming you mean Royal since it’s pretty much the same game but more), by the end of my first play through I had sunk 160 hours in that game. So depending on how quickly you were progressing through the game you probably had around of a third of the game left.
Life will change is the 2nd of 3 parts. The first being Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There and the 3rd being I Believe

Fun fact: most of the times the song plays in the game it's only the instrumental version (with an electric guitar replacing the singer for the melody). This version first appears late game (and in the intro section, but without the context it doesn't hit you the same way).

This has been my biggest disappointment in P5 in general. How do you put this banger into the most important part of a palace but you can just teleport to the safe room closes to the treasure. Depending on the palace, you can't even appreciate this banger.
So sometimes I made it a habit to run threw the entire palace from start to finish in order to create more memories with this song.
It's still great that you have the choice to spend as much or as little time as you'd like exploring the dungeon and jamming to the music before having to take on the boss.
I rarely found everything in a dungeon before I got to the treasure, so I would often spend the first bit after sending the calling card tracking down the last chests, will seeds, etc. Storming through the palace with little resistance, on a quest to steal every little thing in the area, with that epic music scoring every move was one of the most slick, badass parts of the game.

I'm kinda glad you started getting into Persona. Persona 4 is such a good game man. I've just replayed it recently and it is really an entire tier above Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal.
P4G is a great game, but it's not better than P3R or P5R.
