    Just made the recipe and the taste is incredible, the fragrance of the oranges with the vanilla is like a fine perfume. I will use it with my panettone. I added the rind of the lemon and an orange and both their juices.

    I have so far only used orange puree, and will give this a shot! May I understand the purpose of heating the jar with the paste in the oven for 60mins? Will there be a difference in taste? Thanks!

      Its to preserve the paste and prolong its lifespan. Avoid from growing mold during storage :)

    Roughly how much should the oranges weigh? Mine look smaller than yours

    Will orange paste taste bitter with those skin blend along

    • @SourlottibyAbby
      @SourlottibyAbby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Blanching the orange helps to reduce bitterness from the rind. So I highly recommend to not skip this step!

      I blanched mine for over 50 minutes, but still tasted bitter just after turned off the flame. The bitterness will reduce over the time?

      Maybe you overcooked it?

    Tried this and the paste tastes a bit bitter. I think I overcooked it, so the color went slightly brown. How to store it best? In room temp or chill it in the fridge? How long is the shelve life?

      I store in the fridge to prevent growing mold.

    why would you cook the oranges in boiling water, that removes oil from the skins and flavor from the dish?

    I tried the same recipe substituting mice instead of oranges. I personally found the paste a little gritty for my liking. Probably due to the bones not being processed long enough

    Isn't it bitter!

  • @ozlemzlm
    @ozlemzlm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If we did 3 water changes every 10 minutes after the orange started to boil, there would be no bitterness. In this way, although it is sweet, it tastes bitter.
