    Recently, I purchased this lens, almost one month, and I' m agree with you. This lens is excelent. In every way. Really like the lens. It's heavy but not like sigma lenses. I don't regret at all. Sharp and quality pictures. Beast of the lens. Happy anniversary 😎 and thanks for the review. I'm happy with my lens.

    As this boy wasn't available over here in Germany for a long time, I also own the Tamron 28-75 G2. First I thought, I will sell the 28-75 when I get my 35-150. But for a more lightweight and less intimidating setup, I'm still happy I own both.

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That makes a lot of sense! Haha I still have my 28-75mm the first version since I got it for so cheap used there’s no point in getting rid of it for when I need something smaller on the gimbal!

    As the lens that lives on my Sony full frame camera bodies (upgraded 3x) 99% of the time for all the regular event photography, I would definitely upgrade if the new version has IS/OSS/VC. This lens is one of the main reason why I switched to the Sony FF body and not Canon when I came back to full frame over 3 years ago. With the combination of FF + APS-C this lens provides an incredibly flexibilities that covers most of my needs.
    Tamron 35-150mm f/2.0-f/2.8 focal range combined with APS-C mode:
    @ f/2.0 Total available range: 35mm-58.5mm (FF range: 35mm-39mm + APS-C range: 52.5mm-58.5mm)
    @ f/2.2 Total available range: 40mm-88.5mm (FF range: 40mm-59mm + APS-C range: 60.0mm-88.5mm
    @ f/2.5 Total available range: 60mm-118.0mm (FF range: 60mm-79mm + APS-C range: 90.0mm-118.0mm)
    @ f/2.8 Total available range: 80mm-225.0mm (FF range: 80mm-150mm + APS-C range: 120.0mm-225.0mm)
    Love when I can just focus on creating and not swapping lenses during the shoot and cleaning the sensor after the shoot!

    Bought it 2 months ago, took it for one wedding one travel in Venise, and send back to repair 2 weeks ago.
    Sometimes the lens don't focus, nothing happen (5 times, and 4 times during one wedding, fortunately I didn't miss anything) and during my trip, one time the body couldn't change the aperture.
    To resolve that, i've to shut down/up the body and everything works fine, for the price it's not ok !
    However this is a very very nice lens, sharp, focus is ok, have to test it more on sports picture, when it came back of repair.

    Love the lens and use it at all weddings most of the day. Ive had it for about a year and 4 months with no issues Only switch when it's time for dancing at the reception. The one thing I think they can improve is the coating for flaring. Not the best when light sources are coming straight at the lens.

    It seems like one of the best options for range + fast glass. I love the idea of one lens for 90% of my corporate and doc work.
    However, I wish the lens was bigger! And by that, I mean I wish it was the fully extended length and could zoom internally. No telescoping. Throw an aperture ring on it.
    Call it the pro version and increase the price by $500. I’d be first in line and and I think a bunch of other ENG, corporate and doc shooters would be as well.

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s an amazing lens. Love mine still. Only way I’d replace it is if I get vibration compensation with it and maybe some internal zooming if it can do that! I like that idea.

  • @timchambers5242
    @timchambers5242 ปีที่แล้ว

    Generally, Optical image stabilisation (OIS) adds to the diameter, length & weight of the lens for the best performance. The compromise could be losing a Fstop of aperture to add OIS.
    I think OIS needs to capture slightly wider angle (FOV) at the front to then move internal lenses to adjust what hits the sensor at the back. The extra FOV, room for moving lenses, motors to move it, gyros & extra electronics all add to the size & weight. It's not something for free.
    Some older lenses had IS for th F4 version but the F2.8 version didn't. Canon added an RF 24-70mm F2.8 with IS for a similar size to previous EF 24-70mm F2.8 (non-IS) probably due to RF lenses can be slightly smaller due to the smaller back focal distance (mount to sensor distance) & newer lens/motor/control technology making room for adding extras.
    IBIS has some advantages but I don't think it can shift to the same amount as OIS.
    YMMV.

    To buy a7r5 with tamron 35-150 and 20mm 1.8, or a7iv with 24-70gm2 and 70-200gm2? I heard sony gm lenses have superior autofocus (xd linear motor) and rarely miss the focus, where 3rd party lenses aren’tthat reliable. It doesn't have IBIS because IBIS = In Body Image Stabilization...for the camera body... Not the lens! Lenses have IS (image stabilization), OS (optical stabilization), OSS (optical steady shot), but not in body stabilization. But I digress. To answer the question, the reason why it doesn't have stabilization is because Tamron wanted to have the sharpest possible lens. Lens based image stabilization requires the lens to have floating elements which often result in less than perfect optical performance. This is the reason why most primes are not stabilized unless they are wildlife focal lengths where the advantages of stabilization outweigh the degradation in optical performance.

    ive owned this lens for 5 months and used it only a couple times. Build quality is trash and the mounting bracket bent for me without ever dropping it and treating it like a baby. super disappointed with customer service as well wanting to charge me 400$ to fix something i didn't do, when i just spent 1900 after taxes to buy the damn thing. ill never buy another tamron again

      Damn that’s wild! Never had any issues with them or their services. Maybe it was just an issue with that one and you can try to file it as a warranty. But I’d try to talk to someone above who you talked to see what they can do and explain that it’s a malfunction in the lens and see what they could do.
