Very impressive on a lot of levels! I kept hoping that there would be a little bit of time spent on how well it ranks for color accuracy to get an idea if it would be a good display for editing photos and videos. Also, what its refresh rate and response times are for gaming applications. I only care about motion qualities for flight sim work, but I understand that those gaming qualities apply to flight sim work as well. I'll investigate those aspects further, but digging into its abilities with respect to quality of performance, rather than quantity of features might make for a worthwhile sequel to this video. Thoughts? Meanwhile, loved the humor with which this video was created!

I've got the 49 already, and while this one looks pretty cool, I would want it wider if it was that high. Otherwise, the aspect ratio would not work for me. Alternatively, put in portrait, but drive 3 of them at once. For the record, up until this latest curve screen unit, I drove 3 screens continuously, all the way back to 2002 (originally on a Matrox Parhelia-512).

    • @mylanthony
      @mylanthony 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

This seem to turn into a "no buy" for me. I want to have my own multiple monitor setup on this screen, and ot just a cheap "smart app" that is displaying a browser. If this is only one source and no other option to display my own content there, then ist just a big TV with no real benefit to me. I thought they might at least use display-chaining or something to offer multiple displays, but this... real bummer

With the price crash on Gen 1, I can't justify paying double just to get the Gen2's features.
Both on sale right now at Samsung Shop, £2079 for gen2, £1149 for gen1.
A difference of literal beer money away from the 32" Odyssey G8 @ £950.
I've seen a reviewer pay $900 for a second hand BestBuy Ark1 in questionable condition... so in USD, about $200 more for brand new is wild.
      Worth noting ☝️
US & UK markets are always priced differently...
Usually, the UK gets shafted, and America gets all tech for way cheaper...😢
      BUT NOT THIS TIME 😜😜😜
Gen2 is sitting at $2999 reduced from $3999 on Samsung US, I don't even see Gen1 listed in stock on the EOFY sale currently active until 30/6.
Whereas UK market, Gen2 is at £2079 reduced from £2599.
And Gen 1 is at £1149 from £2533...
Yeah, I think Samsung messed up with the RRP difference between Gen 1 & Gen 2 being only £66 on the British market 😂

Wife bought me 1 for Christmas, looking to replace it. The size and curve are perfect, that's about it. 1 input at a time, goes to sleep and doesn't want to wake. Sometimes it will take minutes before it decides to wake, but my other monitors (LG) wake instantly. Depending on what game I'm playing, it'll just turn off, maybe for only a few seconds, and sometimes it wont come back on, unless I alt/tab. You get a lot of a buffering symbol, then a blue screen that says there was an error with the connection, then the screen comes back on. After research, these problems are common, especially with multiple monitor set ups. Would like a 48 inch 1000r or 800r curve.

They missed the best part for the multi view. You should be able to have multiple views to put pc on. So instead of my having 3 screen for one pc, I can have views of my pc on one screen, separate of each other. Ability to move pc programs to one view or another and be different from each other. Like 3 extended screens on one screen

Not sure about the built in "smart" aspect in terms of apps. They will become outdated fairly quickly and will have more vulnerabilities than your typical monitor or dedicated streaming device including performance degredation over time. Its way better to have a dedicated streaming device connected to a non smart and just normal monitor. Other than that, its a nice upgrade though probably not worth the price difference from the Neo without a discount.

I'm so glad reviews like this exist.
I just want 1 big screen that mimics a triple monitor setup. Not a smart TV that's pushing me to use apps.
If I wanted to be using a smart TV, I would just use a smart TV.
I guess the Aorus 43" or 48" would be better for me.
Cause as cool as the tech is, this doesn't do what I would want.
