    my granddad used to say burned body panels were no good, within a couple of months the rust bleeds through the paint, he used to say the metal had had the "temper"burned out of it.

    3.00-1 or close is my favorite ratio for a car with no overdrive. Good power, and you can drive it on the highway.

    Hey Pete, Theres a dual outlet XC rear bumper on ebay at the moment, located in Victoria as well.

      +350munro Mate, you're a legend. When I saw your message I logged on to ebay, searched it, found it, clicked on 'Buy it Now' and drove out and picked it up yesterday afternoon. The photo's in the ad were average at best, but the bar is really good. It was also in sunny Mooroolbark, not far from here, so thanks again!

      Hi Peter,
      Was just going through your old episodes and wanted to know if you would be interested in repairing my A/C heat heater box? I have called a few places and they are asking for $1500 to repair. Would you be able to assist?

    You're far too hard on yourself Peter. Personally I could watch your vids for hours (binge watched the XW series when I first found it). What makes it for me is you show the flaws, the mistakes and imperfections of what you do; backyard garage building in a nutshell and I for one love it. 1-Million views is far too few for this sort of information (and don't ever forget the entertainment value too), roll on 100-million and beyond.

    • @PeterAndersons
      @PeterAndersons  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +T Jay A lovely comment indeed and thank you. yes there are flaws... many of them in fact, but the cars are relatively cheap, so I can enjoy them without worrying too much. Was frankly amazed at a million, but certainly can't see a hundred million... thanks again. Cheers

    Superlative as always Peter. Great score with the G.T bonnet, they are hard to come by now, & the prices people are asking are ridiculous. I have a XB hardtop I bought of a young bloke, unfortunately he cut a hole in a perfect GT bonnet to put in a hornet scoop. It took me ages to find another one, people were asking over a $1000 for them. I saw one on Ebay for $1500 with rust. I ended up getting one for free, I swapped my old bonnet for it. It has a bit of rust in the front, but generally it seems pretty good. I'll de-skin it & strip the paint, get a good look at it. Love your videos, the XC is looking great. Keep up the good work

    • @PeterAndersons
      @PeterAndersons  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Pay Pay Thanks. Yes, I wasn't ready for the bonnet, but kept an eye out for one because the one I had was awful. I did the same with the rear bumper... factory dual outlet ones are very rare.

Keep going Peter , try on hail dents a little heat from a torch watch for the panel to raise works great.

    A million views on any newsfeed is exceptional, congrats. What I love seeing is how restored parts for as little as $5, can make all the difference in a budget build. Amazing find with that heater box! Nice idea about using rubber grommets around heater tubes too! Jason mentioned to me today that you maybe getting some video of his XW in motion in the next week or so! Looking forward to seeing that take its first drive. Great length video today! I just chilled out after long Monday at work. Thanks!

    It's funny because I have been watching all of your XW and XC videos and it wasn't until I saw the propane car you looked at in this vid that it seemed to me that it looked a lot like the nice Ford that I had here in the US back in the late 70's Then I had an epiphany... I remembered that the Ford I'd had was a 1970 XL... That was a great car, 351 Windsor V8 automatic, no rust at all. Somewhat of a cousin to your X cars, though mine was a two door.

    hi Peter, congratulations on your many views. not surprised. your videos are fantastic. very educational. any ideas on your next project to follow.. perhaps a pickup truck.. seems you love the Ford sedans. Here in the u.s. they aren't very popular, though they seem to be down under. I watch because I'm a big fan of ford. and have started work on my father's 72 f250. and so much of what you do relates to all oldies. I don't plan on a complete tear down, as this truck was kept beautifully by my dad. just the rubber parts so to speak. and a good cleaning. thanks for the inspiration. and amazing knowledge of Ford products.

    • @PeterAndersons
      @PeterAndersons  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Charles Chidester Thanks Charles. The sedans are popular here because they represented what most people had back in the 60s and 70s and were raced, so most people like me identify with them. The hardtop (coupes) in the Falcon weren't nearly as popular back then as they are today... there were far less of them and now they're highly sought after... even rusted out wrecks are stripped to nothing and fully restored and rebuilt. I like the Coupe's, but love the sedans because my earliest memories always had them in it - I guess they're more significant to me.
      F-truck... yes please! I would LOVE a short wheel base 460cu.in one!
