  • Just a video of where I'm at on this vt600cd bobber cafe type build, budget build for sure. Going to see how nice I can make it without crossing the $2000 mark. Clip on bars, exhaust, halo headlight, solo seat, carb adjusted. Finished video coming soon

    Nice bike bro... I have the same exact bike stock with just straight pipes, and I agree it makes for a good rumble. You just gave me some incentive to start changing it.

    Yeah, for the back of the seat plate mount, I was going to do a piece of bar stock and bend the sides down at 90 and bolt it to that frame, then mount the seat to it

      I don't have this motorcycle anymore, but the install is very simple. It just claps to the forks and literally has an h4 plug. I found it on ebay, u can search "motorcycle halo headlight" and then I had to buy the bucket and mounts separately

      Yeah the clip ons will clear since u can tighten them at any angle on the forks, just move them out til it clears. U will feel like ur riding a cbr600rr with how foward u are leaning with the clip ons.

    What tire is on the bike? I have a vlx with 15 in wheel and I can not find any tires other than street radials for it. I really want a decent trail tire

    • @bikesandbangs
      @bikesandbangs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Street tires are the only option for that 15 inch rim. Sometimes u can find Chinese trail tires in 15 inch but most likely u will have to re-lace the wheel to a 17 inch rim for any trail tire options that aren't too skinny

    • @johnwirk
      @johnwirk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bikesandbangs I did find a bridgestone scrambler tire with mild aggressive tread but they are 160/60/15....pretty small tire compared to the 80 wall stock. With a decent fender and proper gearing, the battlax ax41s might be the only option for those using the stock wheel

    I need help I cut the pipes off my same bike and it doesn’t run right obvi. But how do u ajust the carb

    • @bikesandbangs
      @bikesandbangs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely it needs the fuel/air mixture screw adjusted. U will need a "D" shaped carb tool to adjust the brass screw on the carb. If I remember right it faces downward. Screw it all the way in until it lightly seats. The screw it out 2.5-3 full turns. Mine needed 3 full turns out but if u are at higher elevation 2.5 or 2 should be good

    • @bikesandbangs

      Yeah its a 170 mm, to have a 200 mm and not have it looked pinched u can lace a vtx1800 spoked rim on it

      wondering the same thing

    • @trentnick2711
      @trentnick2711 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your seat will have studs you put the spring on the seat and put a washer then a nut on it and drill a hole in the pan and do the same thing so your seat and pan are connected. Then you can drill holes and bolt your pan to the frame as well as a bolt through the front of the seat pan. And yeah you have to have a plate to connect the gram behind the seat to strengthen it up. But to the video it’s a badass bike

    • @bikesandbangs
      @bikesandbangs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They aren't as wide as the stock bars, so steering feels a tad heavy at really low speeds, but the forward position makes u feel very in control. And with the footpegs being forward as well, it takes a lot of weight off ur wrists. Can ride for a couple hours no prob
