- In this video, Dr. Kushner examines how the cerebellum helps us maintain balance and coordinate muscle movements. From walking down the street to playing a musical instrument, the cerebellum makes sure our movements are fluid and synchronized.

Best brain anatomy - function instruction on TH-cam. Thank you!
Thank you 😊
I completed my Psychology undergraduate degree last year, but you help me retain the knowledge I have gained over the last 4 or so years, your videos are so clear and packed with info, thank you!!
Thank you for the kind words. The more I learn about psychology the more I realize how much I don't know.
Great video. Thank you for this. It is helping my understanding of the brain!
As a med student, I LOVE YOU !!!!!!!
As a teacher, I appreciate you 🤓🤓🤓❤️
The Muscle Memory things got me smiling 😃

If the cerebellum is making sure that our movements are fluid, why does Deep brain stimulation target the thalamus in cases of tremors? Why not the cerebellum? Are they just intercepting the the part of the thalamus that is receiving the flawed motor plan coming out of the cerebellum?
Thanks. Do you have any video talking about types of memories?
I only have a video on the hippocampus. I discuss declarative (explicit) memories vs Nondeclarative (implicit) memories
@@PsychExplained: I’ll watch it. Thanks for replying.
🙏
Hi!
Does the Cerebellum has to do with the memory/ Cognition?
I have Cerebellar Atrophy and loosing memory.
Thanks!
Yes it does. Specifically “implicit memories” - these are memories that don’t require conscious awareness, like playing piano or riding a bike

Thanks very much!
I have epilepsy, (taking Lamictal med), have Cerebellar Atrophy and loosing memory.
My doctor/neurologist says it only affect coordination; and he is not worry about the Atrophy.
-Should l be worried about it??? What is going to happen to me??? I am 58 years old and need to work.
I don't know what to do.....
Thanks very much!!!
(Sorry for my English, l am from Puerto Rico🇵🇷)
What you’re not gonna find in academia yet is that the cerebellum is in charge. That’s why over 80% of the brains neurons are in the cerebellum. It’s an artificial intelligence computer watching the Commodore 64 upstairs take all the credit.
Yes,and what's up with that dreaming function!😮
Sarah means Princess in Hebrew while Bellum is Latin for war. The term coined by DaVinci is a joke about what we’re doin here. We’ve known for decades the cerebellum is central to mood disorders and autism as well as depression, desciion making, and addiction.
Do You Play a Musical Instrument Tho?
