I’m sure Jay is to busy to read all comments so if possible please let him know what an inspiration he is to me! I’m 59 and have been following him a long time and he’s definitely my favorite bodybuilder of all time!! To see him at his age now just makes me want to continue working out and staying healthy!! Thanks Jay!!💪🏼
Hey guys, im narcissist and Jay probably wont read this. Can someone please let him know how much this means to me? Im 55 and just wanted to say something that its so important that he must hear
Love that you are teaching the mind-muscle connection. I am 57 years old and started competing in the men's physique category at 47 yo. Teaching mind-muscle connection and "blood pump" is the key to achieving gains without risking injury. The learning curve is fluid and there is always something to learn. Thank you for this informative teaching an old dog new tricks video(s).
Jay is a humble and important gentleman and a brand that has ever been created in the art of bodybuilding..I have no other teacher but him..keep going Mr.O
Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler are my two favorite body builders. Ronnie was the original but as Jay retired from doing shows and has more time to put into his channel, you get to know him better and I like him more and more every video I watch. Such a genuinely nice guy with a wealth of knowledge and always willing to share from his experiences. And I love the friendship him and Ron have! Appreciate all you do for the community Jay!!
Im new to the gym scene and fitness. Decided to start going to the gym at 47 after losing 80lbs and feeling weak as ever. Almost two years now and I'm obsessed with "rebuilding my body" as Hany Rambod told me at the Arnold. I do remember seeing you in magazines when I was young and just thinking "Wow! Good for him" (like I said, I was too busy stuffing my face and partying than working out. I had no appreciation as to what it took to do what ya'll do). I'm now down 160+ lbs (75 to go) and I'm inspired by you mostly now. We are about the same age and to see you still going to the gym and taking care of yourself is inspirational! Who knows, maybe I'll get to meet you at the ARnold someday (I'm from Ohio). I may not be a body builder, but I do enjoy the journey! Oh, and what I really meant to say is, I appreciate your content, workouts and in this one how you spoke about days you may still not want to workout, but you do!! That is inspiration brother! Thank you!
Greetings from Finland Jay! Tried your leg workout from 2005 yesterday, cheered my Monday! Living these busy years in life and can't hit the gym quite as often, but watching these videos is the next best thing to do if not able to lift weights myself. All the best and keep it up!
Great leg workout video once again with lots of tips and insights💥, these experiences from Jay are always a benefit for everyone who loves this sport, great content as always, I had my leg day yesterday and I adapted it to Jay's last video when he showed us his leg day routine. It was a step up, I love my leg days but yesterday was even better than usual. Big thanks to Jay and Dave, let's crush it tomorrow in the gym again guys 💪💯FTBB
Jay, your content is appreciated. Going through a divorce. Getting layed off of a high paying job for at least 10 months and am going to lose my house. Naturally that kind of stress hampers progress and does bodily damage. Made an affirmation to watch something bodybuilding related each and every day to stay motivated and as stress free as possible. Your channel is key in that goal. Managed to stumble onto both nutritional and physiological strategies that even during mondo stress has allowed for some real gains at a time when i wouldnt even be working out otherwise. Thanks Jay.
Thank you Jay! I started following your routines when I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. I used to get Muscular Development magazines sent to me and read every word. I made significant progress with your guidance. We had a killer gym, and I miss it. They really spared no expense. Rest was challenging when the air conditioning broke almost daily in the heat of the day. I worked the night shift, so this was pretty dangerous when it got above 100 in our tent.
jay i am from Ethiopia, i watch almost all the video you post because i understand the intellect and effort and concertation you put in them, and they are for most influential
I watched this leg training video and then worked legs at the gym. I used Jay’s tip of placing the feet at a lower position on the platform and pressing with the heels. This made a big difference and the movement felt great and my quads are sore today. Thanks for all of the great training videos and great supplements.
Jay, your chat at the end was spot on. It is all about getting a good pump and the time under tension and just working your ass off. All this science back training and so forth is just to give people jobs and a platform to push their supplements and other training programs and nonsense. Look at the physique that you builtback in the old days and still continue to maintain without reading textbooks!
I used to carry MuscleMag and Muscular Development magazines in my gym bag in high school. Jay, Ronnie, Jonnie, Flex, Kai, Phil, I learned so much from those mags. I would copy and modify the workouts and just get down right blasted.
Big Jay.... I loved your uni-lateral leg workout you sent out on your newsletter. My legs exploded after the first try and continue to use the routine on a weekly basis. Thank you for creating these videos, motivating others, and adding so much value to the world of fitness. P.S. ..... great supp line!
Started hitting the hammies first in the last leg routine and I can honestly say it pumped the legs more then doings squats first. I saw that on your previous leg video so thanks for that!
From you I learned to up the tempo with my lifting. I always hated cardio, but now I pick one workout to go super heavy one for a few weeks, everything else I pick weights that challenge but allow me to keep between set rest to about 60 seconds. Keeps my heart rate in the cardio zone while gaintaining overall strength over time. Thanks for the tip and all the motivation over the years 🙋
Good form on your movements Jay . When I stretch my hamstrings I put my leg out straight and lean forward and hold for ten count I do this with each leg you can I do this a couple times when doing my hamstring exercises . This gives me a good muscle stretch . As I’m a masters pro !
Thanks Jay Cutler, this was an interesting watch. I made some notes and additions to my legs routine. Legs are my most beautiful and loved workout sessions. If someone is told 4 sets of 8-12 reps, what does that actually means? I was here from Riyadh KSA
Thanks Jay , I’m 66 and the first book I bought was Bob Paris and it’s still one of the most relevant books on training, he has a line in the book he could make a 5lb weight feel like 50lbs . And no shovel ass here !!!! SR.
What is the trade off between the variation in range of motion? After watching the video I'm wondering if there is benefit to utilizing less range of motion. For example, on the seated leg curls I was always trying to curl all the way up but I see Jay is utilizing a smaller range of motion.
Lol I did that with a guy I knew in highschool at the gym 2 days ago, he said he didn't have much motivation I was like yea you look good man atleast you look like you're at the gym still atleast, and he's like "I go to the gym every day" 😭
Easy fix for your issue with "Do you work out/work legs?".... instead ask: "*How often* do you work out/work legs?" It implies the opposite, that they have visible gains.
I would be interesting for a lot of bodybuilders if you could compare training styles between yourself and big Ronnie , you both pushed massive weights but your still good and he’s wrecked , might make an interesting podcast
Please mention the brand of machine you are using. The feel of machines varies widely and you need to attack some differently (I think you pointed that out also big Jay). When you do, give a shout out to your mate Brad from Sydney!
I been following you now for about the last 6 months just turned 42 I'm 110 kgs of fat trying to lose weight and gain a little muscle! I'm really struggling to lose any or even get any kinda fitness! Do you have any suggestions
I think he did say many videos back. I don't think he takes more than 200mg of testosterone cypionate. It's probably much less. I think he has the ability to add muscle with his food intake. I think he talked about how much food really does contribute much more than we all think. Jay has mastered what to eat, how often and how much.
I’m sure Jay is to busy to read all comments so if possible please let him know what an inspiration he is to me! Jay Cutler is the Number 1.
My leg day routine:
3x10 bicep curls
3x10 incline dumbbell bench press
3x10 flat dumbbell bench press
3x10 leaning lateral raises
3x10 overhead shoulder press
I remember getting ahold of those jay cutler dvds back in the day was so motivating would watch the DVD almost every day before a workout 😂
