This is coming from a guy that was Mr. Olympia and at the top of his game and still has enough consideration and self-awareness to know he doesn’t own the place. A lot of these wannabe fitness influencers could take some notes from him.
Jay, you’re one of the dozen or so humans worldwide who I think should be allowed to film in the gym when and where you want, no questions asked. But nice to see a legend like yourself still prioritizing common courtesy for fellow gym goers. You rock!
What I enjoy about this video, we have 4x Mr. Olympia creating this off his phone. No music, no fancy editing just straight up raw old school bodybuilding training. Thanks Jay!!
I’m 35, have been lifting since 2008, and am just focused on being the healthiest and fittest person I can be. I appreciate both your lifting and life advice. Thank you for all of your time and effort.
Amen. Thanks for saying that. I. 60, revovering from a major injury abd surgery and I feel exactly the same. I am recovering, I'm retired early, and this is my focus. I love it.
I'm 61years old, a former Marine (82-86), a retired police officer (88-19), and have been lifting weights since my Mom bought me plastic cement filled weights in 75. As far as me and my buddies are concerned, Jay is and will always be the best Mr. O, and finest ambassador for bodybuilding!
I'm a 42 year old teacher from Hungary doing body building for 27 years. I respect everyone who is a professional in this sport, but Jay, you have been and you will always be my hero. After working 10-12 hours a day, sometimes I badly need energy to do my daily trainings, but then I just watch a full or a short video of yours, and I become the most motivated person to pump. Thanks for everything! Thanks for teaching us! Thanks for being so human!
I’m a 30 year old father of two. Got back into working out a year ago after one of your videos popped up in my TH-cam feed. My friends and I all followed you and Ronnie back in the day. So great to see you still crushing it man! Love the content, keep killing it! 👍
I worked out since I was 14 up to my early 30’s, had to stop since I started a business, had kids, and was bummed I couldn’t work out at the level I did in my 20’s so I just stopped and took off the last 7 years. I just started back up this past February at age 39, I have to say I’ve always been a fan and aware of your Olympia run in the mid 2000’s but never really familiar with you if that makes sense. Coming across your TH-cam channel this past January inspired me to come back to the gym, I wanted to do a Fit for 40, and being two weeks way from turning 40 I’m happy to say the last 8 months or so have been beneficial to me. Coming back was the best decision I’ve made, and I have to say thanks for the inspiration and these videos, I’ve stolen some of your exercises from TH-cam and have never felt better! Keep crushing it Jay!
Jay, another great heart to heart chat after the workout. I have been telling my patients to check out your channels in order to spark their enthusiasm and confidence to train, eat clean, and embrace our fitness lifestyle. I set a great example of what 52 can look like, but I don’t have your resume, or amazing hairstyle!
I am 37, I train 4 years at home with kettles bells en dumbbells , I train for my restless mind (ptsd) and I like your tips for beginners…. Motivation etc I appreciate what you’re doing . Best wishes from the Netherlands
59 and I watch to learn. Your knowledge, and personality get me out of the recliner to workout. I just started working out 2 months ago. Been planning to my workout routine for 40 plus year's.
I am 39, I’ve been to gym frequently for about four years and I really love how you teaching people on basic training methods not just picking up super heavy weights. Really appreciate your video Thank you
I’m a 55 year old singer/guitarist/songwriter from Texas. I remember back in my late 20’s and through about half of my thirties (before gigging really got too busy for anything else..) enjoying being a member of the Navy League and having full access to the gym at NAS in my small home town enjoying body building and loving seeing the results. Competing, whether I had the potential or not, never appealed to me but I loved subscribing to muscle & fitness magazine and watching your career blow up. I had and still have huge respect for you Jay. Now that my music stuff has slowed down I’ve been able to slowly get back into bodybuilding and I absolutely love keeping track of you here on TH-cam! You’re the best Jay I appreciate you more than these words can express as a person and an awesome bodybuilder! The fact that you still have such an impressive physique in your 50’s gives me hope that maybe I can build something to feel proud of and that is truly priceless! You rock Jay I love you dude! Forever a fan!
Hi Jay, i just turned 45 have been watching you since the early days and still here watching you! Been back at it since i turned 40. 5 years back in the gym and you inspire me to keep going! Keep going bro!
I'm a 48 year old diabetic, I work in the oilfields in West Texas. Luckily we have a somewhat good equipped gym wich I use 5 times a week. I do have injuries from my past , lower back L4 L5 is damaged, right shoulder from playing semi pro basketball in Germany and my knees are shot as well . To make a long comment short I appreciate your motivation... it's priceless !!! Keep it real and thank you soooo much !
I’ve been following your advice for the last few years because you are one of the few that’s completely genuine. You don’t need to prove anything to anybody and i love your realistic no bs approach to fitness - that’s it’s trial and error and that everyone has to get a hang of what suits them best. The majority of fitness influencers will talk in absolutes of ‘do’s and don’ts’ and back it up with completely useless bro science. You are honest and a breath of a fresh air
Hey Jay I’m 48 and did my first show this past September. It was a combination of life choices and circumstances, but here we are! You were always and continue to be an inspiration for me to step out on the stage. Thank you!
I've incorporated the cable crossover in my shoulder workout for rear delt because of Jay Cutler. Thank U for sharing your vast knowledge of training. Trust me, people of all ages are listening to the GOAT!!!! We would be fools not to!!!
Hey, thanks for being so personable. I honestly see your enthusiasm that they’re talking to everybody that’s watching and it makes the person watch him feel like you’re talking especially to them. I really appreciate that about you Jay God bless you and your wife man and your little dog.
40 year old shift working father of 2 here. Started working out when I was 14 and have not stopped since. Loved the battles between you and Ronnie all those years. Its really nice to see you stay with it, you can really see you truly love to just lift weights in the gym. I am the same way, I just want to see how much strength I can keep as I get older, and there is always something to improve on to keep it interesting. Good work Jay!
I'm a 36 year old (from Massachusetts, grew up doing masonry work for my dad, similar to you haha), been lifting for a few years, and I watch your stuff 1. Tips on technique 2. Get pumped and inspired for my workouts 3. Get pumped about life as your great attitude and friendly personality, plus STILL interesting life (even TODAY, not just past) make your videos pleasant to watch, like hearing from an old friend
41 and lifting consistently for the past 3 years for the first time since I was in my 20s. Feeling huge benefits and loving it. More muscle at my stage in life will benefit massively later in life. I’m a surfer and a swimmer too so the weights help there too
It’s amazing having the access to one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. Thanks for the fantastic content as it really helps my approach in the gym and how to attack my training with purpose.
43 in the UK , just got into the weight training after a long ass battle with substance abuse and I'm hooked! Looking and feeling the best I've been in decades! Love the content Jay , super humble and down to earth , that's why your so relatable and likeable! Keep the content coming , subbed bro 💪
24 years old doing pro wrestling and I’ve been training in the gym for the last years and really have focused in the last 2 hope to get on stage for bodybuilding someday. Been watching you since I was like 9 years old. Seeing you be so dedicated still at 50 makes me want to strive for more. Thank you Jay you’re an inspiration and a fantastic role model
“I am not gonna film too much because I don’t wanna stay in people’s way” His humbleness is absolutely insane… A man with the history Jay has, a real legend in Bodybuilding saying that… while there would be tons of people who would pay good money just to see him working out in front of them.
It actually makes me wonder that he is unaware of how massive his legacy is for the sport. Maybe not unaware but I can guarantee that in real life, the impact is waaay bigger than he think it is. He wouldn’t be able to go to the beach, cinema shopping in my country. There would be crowds to take pictures…
Hi Jay - I’m 28 years old, and have lived a mostly sedentary no exercise lifestyle for the last decade post high school. I’m 6’1 at about 245 lbs, and about 6 months ago started going to the gym for the first time ever. I love watching these highly educational videos, as they’re full of helpful tips from different types of suggestions in the workouts, to recommended supplements like creatine that you think everyone should take, to daily diet regimens. Thank you for continuing to be an inspiration and a beacon of positivity in the workout community.
I generally don't watch gym training "this is what I do" type of stuff, but that monologue at the end, man, that was incredibly well said. Knowledge is just as important as the training is, and people have forgotten about the former. Thanks Jay. Keep it up.
At this point in my life, im 43, and my mentality at the gym now is to maintain my shape. Not looking to gain or lose, just keep a nice shape and I watch your content to give me ideas of different types of movements I can do for the body parts. Thank you. 🙏
Jay, what I liked about the way you do your presses and your benches the way I’m watching you is I can tell that you actually have your muscle contracted the whole time through that short motion up and down it’s almost like you’re just kind of pressing it off of your little bit, but holding it Coming down. Also like the way you’re intensity was fast and your weight sort of heavy moderate to heavy but you could get your reps in. I gotta try that when I get home. Love this shoulder work out thanks man.
I started lifted in my teens, it was a big part of my life for well over a decade. I took a break while focusing on my Career and Kids, my kids aren't a full time gig anymore so I've recently started lifting again and it's like a different game, so much more information out there these days. I am more aware of injuries and longevity, try to leave that young man ego at the door. Awesome to see you're still passionate about lifting but also lifting for different reasons. Keep the videos coming.
I'm 45 and have been lifting for 26 years. I never excelled athletically when I was young, but I found I could out work most everybody in the gym. So that became my thing. Jay is my favorite bodybuilder of all time, because of his lifetime dedication to living the bodybuilder lifestyle. And I appreciate that he continues to put out so much good content.
''I don't even know how many sets that was...'' That's what I like about you, Jay: your ''loose'' form and your instinctive side of training. You listen to your body, you do what feels right to you at a particular time and you are not too strict. This is how I like to train myself and this is why your videos are always the best source of motivation depending on the body part I am training on a given day. This one is going into my ''Jay Cutler playlist'' for shoulders training. Who cares about those who criticize the way you do your movements. You are 4xtimes mr Olympia and you are the author of one of the most spectacular comebacks in sport history (without forgetting the ''Flex'' cover that came with it, one of the most beautiful covers ever...)! Put that in your pipes, naysayers...
I hope you realize how many people you helped and motivated to get out of bed. Truly a blessing to live in your lifetime, thank you for sharing the knowledge. Loved the format of the video, workout and then a chat with the audience, keep putting out content, we are wherever you are my friend.
I’m pumped I found your channel! I was a huge fan when I was in highschool… I fell away from lifting after marriage and kids; but I’m getting back into it after divorce. Really, really nice to see you’re still living the lifestyle! And you still look awesome!
Great content as always jay! Hearing a legend like yourself speak about how you don't always need to have perfect form, is refreshing when you second guess yourself with some exercises, no longer able to lift heavy weight due to neck and elbow pain which seems to be going no were, not the neck pain anyway maybe the joint pain will go 🙏
"I really feel the muscles do the work" ( explaining individual range of motion) great advice --i went from marathon running for change of sport to high voulme jay cutler style 5 day week and in 16 weeks , its crazy how ive developed , 2024 jay cutler is giving me training advice 💪💪💪what a time to b alive
@JayCutlerTV I'm 47 this year and I started lifting seriously after my bday last year, I bought all of your ebook guides in February 2024, followed the plans, and got results. I realized that going solo in the gym even though I knew what to do wasn't working for me so I got a trainer(gym owner) and things have really started moving up from there. As for what I want out of bodybuilding... I don't ever plan on competing but I'd like to look like I could if that makes sense. Keep up the good work! I really appreciate what you do.
Great content, been a fan of your work since the old days, 46 yo aerial firefighter, lifting since teen years, like most guys around here, gym is my happy place, trying to get in the best shape of my life, physically, mentally and emotionally, just trying to be a good human being, thanks for the inspiration!
I'm 38 and just want to be able to keep training and stay muscular for as long as possible, I have a few injuries as we all do and I love that you focus on technique and intensity tips which can be applied to almost anyone at any age to improve their workouts
Hi Jay am 44 I like your channels both Cutler Tv and Cutler Nutrition very knowledgeable content. I been lifting at home for a good 5 years plus lots of free weights and dumbbell work… Am always listening to your gym tips and stories to keep me motivated!! I also enjoy your supplement line up. I deliver furniture for a living so I get some extra gains at work lol. Now if I can control my diet that’s my weakness ha…
Bloke of 46. Prior PT. Got shut down for th last coupla yrs due to 🫀🫁… dramas. But all clear now n back in the ‘happy place’ gym grind. Killer routine. Th rear fly machine looks sturdy as hell! Need on over here. 👍🏻 Appreciate the motivation.🏴☠️
My 14yo son and I go gyming 5 days a week after meal 4. We always feel great! Your old training DVDs play on TH-cam in our gym. Those videos keep us motivated.
This man is as real as it gets. Thank you for your absolutely amazing videos and advice, you're not just one of the GOATs of bodybuilding, but a great guy generally as well.
I'm 20 years old I have been watching you since I was 15 and it's really inspiring how he has still maintained his size and he is still in my opinion "still huge and shredded" , Jay you really are awesome.
I’m a 33yr old natty gym rat, been lifting weights since I was 16. Competed twice, didn’t enjoy it. However built an admiration for the sport having been through comp preps. Watch your content for some training tips by one of the GOATs. Your achievements show you have wisdom to share. The fact you’re still in shape and getting after it, furthermore indicates advice worth following.
I love watching your channel and my takeaways are the tips like today....ideas for shoulder workouts and how you do them. Thanks for supporting us on our muscle building journey, I am a gym lover but never want to compete or be completely hardcore. My aim is to maximise gains and see how you combine the exercises as you did today. Thanks Jay!
Since John Meadows passing, I’ve really looked up to your training, podcasts and collaborations with Milos who I follow on Instagram. I’m more of a hobbyist bodybuilder but I want to say in between doing my photography, I want to thank you for all the help you have provided to help me make improvements over 40 in my gym. So much so that I now have a lot of others asking me for help and advice and it makes me feel good to help others with their bodybuilding and nutrition goals. Thank you for helping me to continue to learn and grow. I appreciate you, Jay!!❤
Great training tips. Supporting/being a fan of ALL Mr. O. competitors, while being kind yet honest; the perfect attitude. As a 66 year old former professional dancer, daily exercise+ (all day long) was my whole life! [There are some parallels to the "full-time" bodybuilder lifestyle.] I appreciate the training details you give. They really can make a difference, even for us more 'mature' folks. "Keep crushing it!" - 'The Dance Dude'
Hey Jay, I am Anthony from Chicago. I am blind, but you give me so much motivation to keep pumping in the gym, I get all of your supplements and they are great. I appreciate the videos keep it going. I am 40 years old and I am just trying to keep busy thank you a lot.
I'm 40 years old. have been lifting during my teenage years and got back to it last year. I enjoy your videos because of your humble personality and fun attitude. I learn by watching your technique. would like to know more about what supps you still use now that you're retired. many thanks Jay
Love your personality & dedication Jay. Any 51 yo guy would love your physique. Keep doing what your doing. I am 40 yrs old & I have always loved cardio more, but im focusing more on weights now. Changing my mindset & keeping my bone & muscles strong. Shoulder day this morning at the gym. Much love from the UK 🙂🇬🇧
Its actually so refreshing to see someone even with the superstar status of Jay say "I'm conscious of other people are in the gym so I don't wanna disturb them with filming" Bravo sir!
So CLASSY... thank you Jay. 58yr old lifer here, always natural, but through many distractions I'm just getting back into it and your info has been inspiring Rock out brother- stay well 🤟😎
Lot of respects for what you have achieved & continue to achieve, Jay. Loved everyone of your vlogs, purely educational no fancy stuff & I appreciate the fact that you continue to be Humble after all you have accomplished. Take a bow!
I’ve followed your career since 2008 and that’s when I got into lifting. It was a way to kill time and improve myself. Do more powerlifting now but I still love the pump and incorporate bodybuilding workouts into my routines
Started hitting the gym on my 45th birthday, 4 months ago, always been a huge fan of bodybuilding but never thought I had the physique or genetics to build a jacked body, well with help from old heads like yourself I’m well on the way to getting jacked at age 45, kudos sir from Australia 🇦🇺

Thanks Jay! Firefighter here who loves the gym and the aesthetics of the progress💪🏽
Right on!
Perfect video!
''I don't even know how many sets that was...''
That's what I like about you, Jay: your ''loose'' form and your instinctive side of training.
26 years old, down 130 lbs in 1.5 years, got into bodybuilding watching you and Ronnie and Chris, I’m here for each and every tip you have!
I love this kind of video, Jay. Just sort of raw, straightforward training with tips and experience from one of the best. Thank you. 🙂🙏
Great content as always jay!
Hearing a legend like yourself speak about how you don't always need to have perfect form, is refreshing when you second guess yourself with some exercises, no longer able to lift heavy weight due to neck and elbow pain which seems to be going no were, not the neck pain anyway maybe the joint pain will go 🙏
Jay Cutler must be my favorite inspiration when it comes to training. What an amazing attitude to things and just a humble dude!!
I agree. I especially love doing the shoulder press using the Smith machine standing up, or even sitting down. Just feels right.
That machine is badass 🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate the motivation.🏴☠️
Jay your my favorite mr o man im 47 watched all your stuff back in the day. Will try this shoulder exercise friday. Tx
I'm 37, been lifting for 18 years, always looking to improve, and learn more. Thanks for the channel.
My 14yo son and I go gyming 5 days a week after meal 4. We always feel great! Your old training DVDs play on TH-cam in our gym. Those videos keep us motivated.
This man is as real as it gets.
Thank you for your absolutely amazing videos and advice, you're not just one of the GOATs of bodybuilding, but a great guy generally as well.
great to listen to
I'm 20 years old I have been watching you since I was 15 and it's really inspiring how he has still maintained his size and he is still in my opinion "still huge and shredded" , Jay you really are awesome.
I appreciate this format Jay, it’s nothing short of having an Olympian legend giving a 1 on 1 training session. No cuts, all pure workout.
Love your videos Jay. I'm 68 and just started back at the gym after 35 yrs. I'm so happy with my progress after just 2 months.
Thanks Jay! I am learning alot from you. Keep up the videos! 🎉🎉
