Hey Jay, this is Anthony from Chicago. You gave me so much motivation to keep killing it in the jam. I am a 41-year-old guy that’s blind, but you give me motivation just to follow the sport of bodybuilding the way I do I work out every day. I take your supplements and I get a great pump so thank you for the courage and the great words.
Exactly my thoughts. I was 13 in 2000 and body building was my passion so everytime we went to the grocery store my parents bought me a FLEX magazine or muscular development and Ronnie Coleman and jay cutler was in them at some point if not on the cover and I always wished there was a way I could see him workout to learn how he does things now I get to see my teenage idols and how they worked out
I have a lot of respect for Jay. He’s one of the few successful bodybuilders who remained honest, humble and down to earth. Tells it like it is which makes for the absolute best training advice out there
Jay is a solid man. His love for bodybuilding is so real and comes out in the passionate way he conveys his inspirational knowledge in these videos. Thanks Jay.
Jay you're a great role model, I hope more young guys follow your example of how to be dedicated and relentless after their goals while still having a good sense of community and just being plain nice
When I get lazy, I always come back to watch One Step Closer DVD to find that motivation again. I really like this video format for today with a lot of nostalgia. thank you legend
I love your insight into the bodybuilding mindset, reflections on your career, and opinions on the current state of the sport just as much as your exercise demonstrations.
Hi Jay. First of all, so jealous of the hammer strength equipment. My current gym doesn’t have it second, your speech at the end of this video was so sincere and inspiring indeed, you were killing it at age 51.
Used to watch your “so far away” training clip everyday before hitting the weights. I’m a huge fan and can’t thank you enough for helping me get out of my own head with your knowledge for over 20 years. You’re a real professional and ambassador to the art. 👊🏽💪🏽
The format/style of this video is GREAT. Very helpful. As we (all) become more 'mature', we can find balance and renewal by revisiting inspiring killer workouts; further refining, perfecting, and fine tuning them-tapping into our current knowledge and experience. And THAT makes it exciting! "Keep crushing it!" 👍🏋🏼💪
The bit in the end when you're just talking on the bench was very inspirational to me, great stuff, I'm off to the gym to train my back today so it was the perfect video!
I remember what a thrill it was, going to Golds in Venice, late 80’s and meeting the stars of BB. I’ve been watching and training over 40 years, and Mr. JC, you’re a true Champion, gentleman and inspiration even at my age.
I remember seeing you at Lvac rainbow /lake mead (my favorite gym ) around 2012 and thinking it was insane to see the best bodybuilder in the world just causally working out . I said what’s up to you and you were always cool taking pics with people that’s why you’re the best . I still miss when the gym was empty pre social media and you could train like an animal without anyone within 20 feet of you
Hey Jay I am not sure if you’ll see this but this was the DVD I saw that made me a fan of yours back in the day. Somebody uploaded this onto TH-cam, the dvd was split up into several long videos and I remember watching it start to finish. Lifelong fan of yours man, love everything you do.
That was one of your best videos Jay! You were so engaged, and provided so much insight as to why you choose the exercises. Your mindset when performing the exercise is critical. I’m 52 and still growing and refining my lifting technique. You’re so right, it’s a lifestyle, and if a person loves the burn and the pump, there’s nothing like it! I would love to workout along side you one day!!! Thanks Jay!
This was excellent. Wish you would have added more video from his championships when he talking about poses, but overall one of best videos I have seen on this channel. (You can tell how much Jay loves back day. 😎)
What an evening, I've just come home after my back workout, cooked my chicken and am watching this video from Jay while I'm eating. It was a pleasure and a confirmation that Jay motivates us all and helps us with his workout routines from then until now💯. Over the last 3 years I have absorbed all the content that we get from Jay on this channel, whether it's tips on nutrition or workout routines or anything else. It has helped me with my training and life and motivates me to this day💪💪. When I look at the exercises that Jay gives us again, I am proud that I have adapted 90% of them and that I have done so successfully. It's really like Jay said, you always learn something new, that's what I thought again when I watched this video. I've already seen a few things that I will implement in my next back workout. Thank you Jay, Dave and everbody behind this for always motivating us and let's and keeping crushing it. 💪💯FTBB
Im loving these new sets of videos and activity! And shareing us your experience! Helped me imrpove tons! Specially my chest area and taking tension off the shoulders and focusing more on dumbbell presses rather than bench!
We all need to appreciate the incredible VALUE in this type of video... to have an Olympia champion talk us through every movement he did to build the physique he had is just incredible... I can only imagine if we had Arnold or Frank Zane do a video like this.
Everyone who comments on Jay using momentum cheating etc forgets to notice the most important t aspect of why his methods work - muscle building happens at the stretch position and not at the concentric. The more you stretch the better and Jay does that in almost every rep for every exercise.
Fantastic comparison from the past Jay! Really appreciate your professional quality information. God bless my friend! You're still a beast in the gym Jay!
I remember ordering the signed copies of these DVDs back in the day! Eagerly awaiting the next mitsuru video to drop each year! Miss those days! Still think your condition 6 weeks out in ripped to shreds is better condition that most pros on stage 😂
Love ❤️ your videos. Please make it more frequent. Also it would be a great help if you also guide WHICH PART OF MUSCLE IT TARGET for each exercise you do Thank you once again for guiding 😊
This was absolutely legendary to get the Jay Culter back regiment! I am going to definitely throw those movements into my back routine and see what the result give. You are still a legend, please keep posting love learning from you !👏🙏😁❤
@ According to some quick research; developed in 82 it had large amounts of caffeine and an active ingredient called Ephedra (ephedrine basically) which caused high blood pressure, strokes, seizures, cardiac arrhythmia, and heart attacks. No wonder it jerked me up to a hard sweat on -20 degree Minnesota mornings!
Back in the early 2000s we had the best pre workouts, ephedra based xenadrine and hydroxcut. Miss that stuff the new stuff just doesnt hit like they did lol.
My god, he's 50 and looks phenomenal, what an inspirition to aim for a good body and health. I started training and eating rice and chicken everyday because of Jay's videos, thank you so much!
I'm not nessesarily into one "type" of back exercises (machines vs non machines), but my following experiment did alter my perception a little bit. I did two different back workouts. All exercises in both workouts were taken to about 1 rep of failure, same rep range, same tempo. The first: 16 sets for back in machines only vs 8 sets for back with a combination of cables and free weights. After the 16 sets machines ( mostly plate loaded) I wasn't sore at all. After the 8 sets of (cable row, wide grip pull up, cable pullover and one arm dumbbell rows - 2 sets each) I was sore for 3½ days. Worthy considerations why the shorter workout made me more sore: Better stretching of the muscle (towards their full length), better mind-muscle connection, novelty of the exercises and pump during those 8 sets of non machine exercises.
Me and my friends used to watch one step closer and the cost of redemption to get fired up before training sessions back in the day . Still looking like a beast bro .
Big jay all the times like when I’m off work or even have a small break during work (truck driver) I love watching your videos. Always use your training tips love you big jay
Я восхищаюсь тобой , Джей ! Столько лет держать себя в отличной форме ! РЕСПЕКТ !!! 👍👍👍 Здоровья тебе и дальнейших успехов во всём ! Привет из России !!!
I remember reading one of your articles on chest training in MuscleMag summer 1997 , I was 17 and you were 23 , now I’m 44 and you’re 51 and I’m still learning.

I love Jay, he always so genuine, friendly, not pretentious, no ego talk, not even unnecessary cursing. He talks to you like you're his friends.
I pretty much have Jay’s dvd’s memorized!!! Feels like yesterday!!! Can’t believe Jay is still 230 solid! Crazy!
Love to hear it! 💪
True supporter man... thank you
That hammer pulldown with the reverse grip is the perfect angle. Nothing has ever hit my lats like that machine. Thanks for the video.
It looks amazing, I am sad they don't have that machine at my gym.
I feel the the same...
The Yates pulldown we call it
keep posting more of these workouts. aside from the knowledge and experience, you also convey the information very well
I appreciate that!
What a time to be alive. To be able to learn movements from the greatest champion. Massive respect. Just keep putting out content man

Awesome, thank you!
Good stuff Jay. When the greatest BB of all time speaks, I listen 💪 54 now and your advice is so helpful.
Excellent video!
Best instruction from the King of bodybuilding as well as super motivating.
Jay IS Numero Uno!
Outstanding! Appreciate you taking the time! Skol
Love the t-bar rows. I've recently discovered that I like to do cable t-bar rows. I feel them as much without all the set up.
Right on!
Same here! You could try the reverse grip variation as well if you haven’t already, I always do both
Jay, you took over for me where John Meadows left off. Thanks for the great advice as it’s helped a lot!!❤
So sad his passing.... great man...
