    I was shocked that Zara (female dumbo mosaic guppy) has a swim bladder disease for no reason in the afternoon. So I follow these steps and may have no epsom salt, but the sea salt that my neighbor gave me. I transfer my trio guppies in a 20-gallon tank with other fishes, and now Zara is in a quarantine tank with sea salt on it. Hope she recovers soon! Thanks! I will post a video about Zara later.❤

      Epsom salt acts as a laxative in order for the fish to let out excess air/gas. This treatment is ideal for fish experiencing SBD on its early stages. However, if it is on its late stages, it might have a little to no effect at all.
      Try and drop a tiny mashed soft green pea and see if your fish would eat it. This will also help boost the process. However, if your fish does not have the appetite, remove the green pea immediately.
      Consistency and patience are key. Hoping your fish gets well soon!!! 🤞🏻

    2 things,
    1: can I do this with a tiny fish? (Like, the almond shaped ones
    2: what causes swim bladder and how can I prevent it?

    • @Jomatzu
      @Jomatzu  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1. Yes, you can.
      2. It can be caused by a lot of factors: overfeeding, sudden water temperature changes, and etc..
      You can prevent it by making sure that your water is always optimal, take it easy when feeding them, and if there is any way for you to feed them sinking pellets, that would be better. Floating pellets allow them to absorb some air which can then lead to the disease so watch out :)
      Not a fish expert, so better to still do some research.

    • @Jomatzu
      @Jomatzu  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can try and drop a mashed green pea every now and then and see if the fish would eat it. However, if the green pea has been sitting there for too long, that means your fish does not have the appetite yet.
      In this case, by the 4th day of treatment, my fish was already able to eat some green pea :)

    • @Jomatzu

      Try feeding it with a very small amount of green pea if the fish already has an appetite. I think like a 1/6th of the pea would do. Make sure it is soft and then mush it. That did the trick for me.
      Some fish will have a hard time recovering from it. But the process would be of huge help to them.

    Might wanna get a bigger tank. If it's in a bowm like that its maximum life potential will be no more than a year. Put it in a 30 gallon tank or in a pond and it can live around 20 years
