    Hello and welcome to another video! Today, we're crocheting a simple mini shoulder bag / baguette bag. This DIY mini shoulder bag is super cute and super fun to make! This one has been requested many times, so thank you to all those who requested it! Please continue to leave more recommendations in the comments!
    Project Level:
    This easy crochet shoulder bag tutorial is for those that are slightly more advanced than beginner! This bag is worked in rounds, which an absolute beginner may not be familiar with. Also, the attachment of the strap can be a little difficult, but you can crochet the strap separately, then sew it on. The rest is pretty easy. We use half double crochet for the entire project!
    Stitches:
    Slip knot (sk)
    Chain (ch)
    Half double crochet (hdc)
    Slip stitch (sl st)
    Materials:
    Red Heart Super Saver yarn in "Café Latte": amzn.to/40BEvZX
    - Weight: Medium (4)
    - Fiber: 100% acrylic (cotton works fine, too!)
    - Approximate length: 180 yd / 165 m
    - Approximate weight: 100 g
    5.0 mm Aluminum Crochet Hook
    Darning/Tapestry/Yarn Needle
    Scissors
    Gauge:
    15 hdc - 13 rows = 4 in / 10 cm
    Dimensions:
    9 in x 5.5 in or 22 cm x 14 cm
    Tips:
    - Tighten your slip stitches to make the seam smaller and less visible
    - The chain 1 at the beginning of each round does NOT count as a half double crochet
    - If you're having trouble with the bag strap, consider chaining the length of the strap you want and half double crocheting across it. Then, simply sew the strap onto the ends of the bag
    - Weave in your loose ends on the inside of the bag (where no one will be able to see!)
    Timestamps:
    0:00 Materials
    0:13 Foundation Chain
    1:20 Round 1
    3:59 Round 2+
    5:10 Bag Measurements
    5:40 Strap
    8:26 Weaving in Loose Ends
    Music:
    Business As Usual - Harris Heller
    Thanks for watching!

      Do you use exactly 100g or there has a yarn left?

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sorry for the late response! I usually round to the near number so it could be either higher or lower. If you plan to only buy 100g and you run out, you can remove one round off the top!

    I finishedmaking this yesterday and i really love it thankyou for this!! Its really pretty and unlike others crochet bag tutorial which needs sewing and I dont really understand how to sew for their videos but your video doesn’t need sewing so I could do it except the fact that I had to restart a few times because I kept thinking the slip stitch was the last stitch so I was increasing but I learnt my mistakes:D THIS BAG IS PERFECT but the only thing is that the width of the bag strap seems a bit too small for me so maybe ill make it with two hdc instead but otherwise thank you for this tutorial the bag is really nice!!

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply! Do you mean that the ends where the straps are began to curve up? If you're using this bag to hold sort of heavy things, you can line it with fabric. But since it's made of a soft material, it will curve like that unless it's lined with something stiff. And if it's too short, you can just keep adding rounds until you get the length you want!

      Not exactly! We’re working in a sort of spiral. So once you finish one round (an entire circle) you slip stitch, and start the next round. Next round you work all the way around in a circle again

  • @triinvalk

    This was the very first crochet project that I worked on, and it turned out pretty good thought the sides were a mess. I made this bag about a year ago, and since then, I have massively levelled up my game, and I now do so many advanced crochet projects basically daily, mostly amigurumi and other useful stuff. Now that I've found the video again, I am thinking of reattempting this but sadly I don't have the original bag to compare it to. Over all I have to say a big thank you for teaching me some of the basics and giving me one last push to finally give crocheting a go! I can't even thank you enough you have changed my life. Literally! ❤

    Hi viv! im on my 4th round and the crochet is flat and isn't curving up like yours is even though I'm pretty sure I followed the video right is there a reason for that? (btw i love your videos they're the only one that actually helps me make these things):)

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! As long as you didn’t add stitches, it should start curving. Try folding it flat along the foundation chain. It should have straight edges and look like a rectangle

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can look for the post of the first half double crochet, then above it to the right should be your stitch! If you have trouble finding it, you can place a stitch marker every time you do your first stitch of the round

    • @VivCrochets

      No problem! Yes, you can but it will end up being a little smaller than mine. Yarn weight is the thickness of the yarn. You can make yours bigger by doing more chains in the beginning!
