    I've been crocheting for over 50 years. I learned from my grandmother. I have been looking for a tote bag with an oval bottom. I just finished watching your tutorial and I have to say this is a phenomenal tutorial. You are a fantastic teacher and very clear with your instructions. I've watched quite a few lately and yours is without doubt the best one. It's a keeper. Im going to start one tomorrow.

    Awesome tutorial, taught myself to crochet this past February and this is the best video. I am making my 2nd bag. The 1st I used Likee cord, which I use for baskets because they stand up better, but it is very heavy. This time I'm using regular yarn. As a twist I use two different colors and it makes a fun twisted yarn design. The directions are very good spoken and I appreciate there are printed directions I can pause to do the work. I am not fast a crochet yet.

    That's probably the best tutorial I've ever seen of any sort of project ! I'm a begginer and so it helps a lot when instructions are crystal clear and written ... Thank you for your time and efforts put into this video . However, i do have a question...is it necessary to use a double yarn ? I feel like the purpose of it is to make the bag more solid ?

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much! I'm thrilled to hear you find the video helpful. Using two strands of yarn creates a bag that has a thick fabric and is quite dense and sturdy. You are of course welcome to try using only one strand, but the bag will be smaller and perhaps more flimsy. And if you do use just one strand, I just hope you’re not disappointed with the result as the bag really was designed to be made with two strands and I would hate for you not to love your finished bag!
      Hope you have a wonderful day and happy crocheting!

      Thank you! My Classic Baby Blanket is made with a stitch that I’m calling the Modified Blanket Stitch because it’s the reverse of the Blanket Stitch. I don’t believe it’s an actual stitch just something I made up. 😀

    Should this come out stiff /firm or soft?
    Started making this beautiful bag. So far mine is soft with a K hook. Same measurements as yours. I’ve made a different bag with same yarn doubled using an I/9 hook and it’s stiff/firm. Wondering, am I on the right track or do I need to make changes? You’re a clear and awesome instructor.

      Hello! Perhaps others can chime in as well but my bag was sturdy, yet still flexible. The fabric is quite dense and squishy but still has some movement. Hope that helps.

    Love this tutorial! This is my first ever crochet project and its been fun to learn as I go. I'm only running into one issue though. Theres a steep of higher stiches right at the start of each round. The rest seems to be even except for the rise in that area. Is there a way i can even this out? Can I add more chains to the rest of the bag except that area on a couple of the rounds to balance it? Thanks!

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much! That’s wonderful! It’s really hard for me to provide instructions on this as I’m not sure what is happening. As you can see in the video my bag did not stick up too much so I’m not sure what the issue is and how to correct it unfortunately. What I would recommend is just ensuring that you have the same number of stitches and that you’re following the instructions correctly as one side of the bag shouldn’t be too much higher than the rest of the stitches.

    Your instructions and video I have watched have been incredibly easier for me to understand. My problem is this. I can't tell the difference in stitches I've done. It looks like you leave 2 stitches unworked on every round which are the ch and the (I forget the name of the second). I kept counting the wrong count out and kept ripping out as I wasn't doing that. I also could not tell which row I was in when I looked so I ripped it out and have started over. Can you tell me how to know which round I am in by looking at it? Thank you.

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! Thank you for watching. You can tell how many stitches you have left and how many rounds you have done by counting your single crochet stitches. Hope this helps!

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello and thank you! Usually, if the seam is not straight, it's due to an incorrect number of stitches in a round. I would recommend ensuring you have the correct number of stitches in each round. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. Thanks again.

You are welcome to try something else but the overall look, feel, size and amount of yarn may be different.
