Hello everyone! Just wanted to jump in here to encourage everyone and let everyone know when I first began crocheting I couldn't even read instructions! But now I can make anything! And it really does get easier once you get the hang of it, and please don't be too hard on yourselves! As far as the stitches go if you start out too tightly get a bigger hook and if you start out too Loosely use a smaller hook! It's really easy Once you understand, it gets easier as you go along and yes it is tough to grasp in the beginning, because your brain is trying to learn something new LOL! However once you patiently continue to do it and don't give up and practice a little more each day, and just relax it will be fun. so, make it fun it! And think of how wonderful it is that you're learning something new!
Thanks, I think the hook that came with my yarn is too small. It's a 4. It's so hard to get the yarn through the loops, the hook keeps getting stuck. Will have to wait until my hook set arrives next week. Then I can use a much bigger one to practice correctly. As it is now, the loops are so tiny, I can barely get the hook through and I keep losing my yarn. Pretty sure this isn't how it's supposed to go!
Hi! To anyone reading this who is really frustrated and want to quit ,I was there once. It may seem impossible at first but let me tell you, it really isn’t! You just need some patience and time and boom you’re an expert. As someone with neither any patience or time, I decided to pick up crochet as a hobby as I thought it was quite cool you could just make whatever you wanted. At first, I watched so many TH-cam tutorials and was close to giving up. Despite putting away crochet many times, I always had hope that i could learn it. After about 3 weeks or so, something clicked. I went on TH-cam and decided I was ready to make my first bunny. Yea sure, it was confusing and a big step up from just doing squares. However, I just kept trying and watching the video and I figured it out! It wasn’t great.. but it was definitely something. I was really proud and my family were so surprised that my hobby may have been my hidden talent. From then on, I became obsessed. I crocheted day and night and it was becoming a daily routine. I really enjoyed it. After a few months of crocheting, some people saw my work and asked if I sold it. I contemplated quite abit but decided to start my own business. I was so shocked by the amount of people who were willing to buy my stuff. I got many positive feedbacks and compliments. To whoever still reading this, please don’t give up on crochet. It can absolutely change your life. Don’t forget, I was like you once on TH-cam rage quitting. I started with single crochet uneven squares to making bags, toys, cardigans, headbands. I learnt everything off of TH-cam. Did I mention I started when I was 13? Im 15 now and crochet has changed my life. Shameless plug but I’m currently crocheting dog collars and using the money to donate to a pet organisation called hope dog rescue. It’s ok if you can’t purchase anything but a follow will help me tremendously. Instagram @bone_appetitt. Thank you to the person who read this long winded comment. I hope you continue your journey with crochet! Don’t ever give up!
You should make an Etsy account since you're only 15!! The possibilities are endless!! That's not a joke!!! Thanks for the inspiration. I'll keep trying!
I just subscribed to your channel (I don't have insta so I can't follow u there 🙁). But as ur first TH-cam subscriber, I hope you reach great places with ur love of crochet. I'm 13 rn and am trying to pick up crotchet to make a scarf for my mom. 😅
Thanks!! I was dying at first too. But slowly, I began to actually be able to do something. I started a couple days ago. (well I actually started a couple months ago but I quit because I was so impatient) I can make squares super fast, and this comment has inspired me to attempt to make an bunny.
I read the whole comment. Im 41 and learning now. I sit at my job all night doing nothing so i figured id learn. Its been a couple days. My father goes to the senior center and I asked him if I could go with him on sewing day and learn by watching someone. She showed me a few things and im guessing along the way. My problem is getting the hook into the next hole. So im here... Thats awesome, ill add you on IG.
After having re-watched the same part eight times, I look through the comments and breathe a sigh of relief I AM SO NOT ALONE IN THIS. Phew. Thank you for your patience in making this for all of us. I will continue to keep watching it and making my hands move until I get it, then I will comment my success too!
So, I watched the video and I caught on rather quickly. It didn’t take me long before I had 2 crochets. Then I really start jamming and I’m speeding along easy to the ends of my crochets, and chain, flip my work and jam again. I’m sitting there thinking I’m all that, Right! WRONG! When I lifted up my work to see how far I’ve gotten, I had what looked like a bunch of random knots. So I said to myself, I said, “Self? It’s Back to the drawing board my friend.” So your not alone.
@@aquaOK on my second attempt today (took time away as I had a hip replacement and have slept a lot) I have gotten to my chain of 11 and undone that twice as the next step I am not getting so if I keep at it eventually...
@@demnseanherrera1350 yes, but I have this determination inside me to not quit so it might take me the entire year to get this down, but I am going to get it like I was telling the other person that commented me, I got my chain of 11 today so one little bit at a time and I will get there!
I watched another video, a very slow demonstration. And I can't believe I'm almost done crocheting a baby beanie😍 I had to keep undoing two or three lines because I either added an extra loop or missed one. But after a lot of tries, I now love my new hobby!! So don't give up!
My new year resolution for 2023 is to learn crochet. I've been wanting to learn since I was a teenager and now I'm 50 :) Watching your video motivated me. It is my first step into learning and because I believe I can do it, tomorrow I'll go buy the yarn and hooks ❤️
Beginner as well and I'm trying so hard to do the second step hopefully i can get it i don't have patience but this year i want to try and give it my all
Dear Daisy, Thank you so much. I did my first 2 rows of crochet while watching this video. My mom tried to teach me so many times and all I could do is the chain at the beginning.. my mom has sadly passed away. I wish she could see me doing this right now. I hope both of us made her smile in heaven. Thank you x
okay but why did this make me tear up so much i can’t get this at all but this is making me not give up i home you doing okay and i know your mom is so proud!!🩷
4 years ago I watched this video, after my grandma who crochets said I couldn’t ever learn. Nowadays I teach her new patterns, crochet remains one of my favourite hobbies. I just wanted to come back and say thank you, this video changed my life.
I have a tip for anyone struggling that really helped me. Practice just the chain stitch for a long time, I did it for like an hour and a half while watching a show. Do the chain until you get your tension right and get used to holding the yarn, then you can do single crochet easily!! I also made a chain with 5 different methods of holding the yarn and compared them to see which method worked the best for me.
Just starting to learn crochet here too, watching episodes of Chopped (edit: Pioneer Woman is another great show that's more relaxed) while practicing chain stitch at the same time, so we're getting cooking inspiration while at the same time also getting in crochet practice: multitasking to the max! (Haha) Do your best, everyone! Everything and anything is always possible 🙂
I know you recorded this several years ago but I just found it. I’ve been trying to teach myself how to crochet using two different books…both of which thoroughly confused me and approached it from two different angels. I decided to turn to TH-cam for assistance. What a difference! Thank you for this video. It has helped so much.
I will edit this everyday to see how well i learn to crochet. Day 1. I learnt how to chain and made a braclet out of chain stitches Day 2. I learnt how to do a single crochet! ( in the morning ) Day 3. I am getting better at doing single crochet! Day 6: ( Sorry I forgot to update it.) I can now crochet a square! Tysm! Hello a update I have been crocheting for a while now and I can do so many different stitches. I'm working on a sweater now!!! Thank you so much for this tutorial! Another update I finished the sweater and have made a beanie!
For anyone having a hard time (like I was) keeping your rows the same amount of chains and symmetrical, hold the yarn really loose and do very little tension so the loops are bigger. It makes it so much easier to learn that way! Even using a hook that’s a little bit bigger too. I finally am getting the hang of it now
I have watched countless videos on TH-cam on how to crochet 🧶 I keep coming back to you because your videos are so easy to follow. You actually take the time to do the basic steps for a beginner like me. Because of You I now know how to crochet! I was so ready to give up! I’m so glad I found your channel….. Thank you so much 😊
BIG football player Rosie Greer started knitting decades ago and showed off his skill on a television talk show. My mom (bless her memory) was of German heritage and she said that when she was a child knitting was considered a man's activity among the old Germans. Some cultural "norms" are rather silly, aren't they?
Did you try other tutorials? Did you try using a light color yarn you can see well? I just completed this and while I did fine, it's only because I already knew how years ago. She does something kind of funny when she breaks down the yarn over or hooking the yarn that makes it seems much more complicated. My hook doesn't face the same direction and change as many directions and I hook the yarn just fine.
@@olehoyen its going! i made a couple headbands, half of a blanket (need more yarn) and now starting a sweater! this vid helped after i watched it like 12 times 😂 thanks for asking!
@@CHoferxox oh wowww.. i just ordered my yarn a few minutes ago and im going to start tomorrow ⛄️ so excited but a little scared after reading the comments of how hard it is 😭
I’m 62 and I’ve tried to learn to crochet so many times in my life. I can sew. I hand and machine embroider. I’m very crafty. This is the first time I truly understand! Thanks so much.
I just wanted to say that I am an 82 year old man who took up crotchet many many years ago as a holiday pastime, by following a Patons booklet called ‘first steps in crochet’, belonging to my mother. I found it much easier and quicker than knitting. My favourite was to crochet baby matinee coats . But then life took over and I let it slide. Now I’m back since I rashly promised my grown up granddaughter a pair of mittens for Christmas. So I’m having to relearn the skills. Thankfully there are lots of very clear books and TH-cam videos like this one to help. My reason for writing is to encourage more men to take up this hobby. Once you’ve mastered the process it is very relaxing and I haven’t had anyone mock me for doing it - mind you I am a sturdy specimen.
If you like crocheting baby clothes you should get in touch with your local hospital. Wehn premature babies are born they need warm clothes so some hospitals accept donations of hats, cardigans and booties. I've found them to be a good way to keep up my skills without anything going to waste
Thank you Amelia for telling me that. If I get back to my former level I will give it serious consideration but at the moment I am struggling more than I thought I would!
Thank you for this! My mom began a large crochet blanket with her grandmother 20-25 years ago, but she died 13 years ago and they never finished it. I was named after her,(my great grandmother) and I thought it would be cool to learn how, but I literally have never have done crochet ever, so this is really helpful! Hopefully after a while of practicing I’ll be able to finish the blanket :)
Update: after undoing a few stitches on the blanket, I’ve figured out what the stitch is. So far I can’t find what it’s called, or if it’s an official stitch, but I can *finally* finish it and it all started here 🤍 Basically the stitch was like a double crochet, you get three loops on your hook, but instead of pulling through 2 and then 2 again, you pull through all 3. Don’t know if that makes sense lmao, thank y’all for all your support Update! It’s called a half double crochet 🤍
Crochet has always been something I could never quite get the hang of. I am an intermediate knitter and knitting always seemed to come more easily. Thanks to your tutorial, I have FINALLY got the gist of crochet! I think it was because you clearly showed how to hold the yarn and twist the hook that I was able to copy your actions. Thank you very much for sharing your skill! It is important that we pass on these handcraft legacies to other people so that they don't get lost. Off to the tutorial for beginners 2! By the way - I'm 49 years and it is never too late to give something another go!
I haven't touched a crochet hook in almost 50 years, and even back then I only did berets, because I gave up on creating a straight line, and just did increasing circles until I had the width I desired, then decreased until it would fit my head. It was fun, easy, but not what I wanted to do. My crochet tutor of the time always went too fast and never really explained things clearly. In this one video you have elucidated the biggest mystery that haunted my early attempts - I was missing that extra chain at the end!!!!! Now that I am retired I foresee getting back into crocheting finally, and I am going to be visiting your videos a lot!
I was hoping to start up again after many years. I am 65 now and have arthritis real bad. I am determined to pick it up again. Tired of television shows and reading. Too much online stuff too.
For other new people finding this difficult, It took me about 5 weeks of trying to finally make this same square. It's not as perfect, but it took me a long time to figure it out. I'm really glad I kept trying, even though it was difficult for me.
@@stevengandhi5273 They aren't showing off. They are explaining to people that it may take a while before they are finally able to make something. It is reassuring to people who feel like they aren't getting it and that they won't ever be successful. That should have been completely obvious.
Omg reading everyone's comments on how hard this is just killed my confidence! She definitely does make it look easy, let's see how this goes....may or may not report back, depending on results:)
I'm watching in 2024. I used to crochet back in highschool off and on. I am now 63 and decided to try ot again. It is very relaxing. Thanks for the refresher.
pls we’re all crying bc we can’t crochet 😭 don’t give up, it’s hard when you get confused. just keep trying. you can do it :) not to be that one person but this is definitely the most likes i've ever gotten, thank you so much!
Some people don't even know how to do that. (I'm some ppl) lol Be proud of what you have accomplished no matter how big or small! Keep up the good work!!
Hello! This was the first video I've ever clicked when I began doing crochet. Thanks to this video, I already have a small business. Thank you so much!!!!
My girlfriend laughed, when I said that I want to crochet while she watches netflix. I am white straight male over 30 whose hobbies are martial arts and videogames and I work in logistics. I want to crochet something for my rats. Like a bed in their house. Thank you for tutorial. 👍

I am determined to learn how to crochet by 2024! Since a child I can always remember being so fascinated by the skillful technique one has learned to put together a blanket and all sorts of clothing etc... I will be turning 50 years old in January expecting my first grandchild due in March of 2024! Better late than never! I am really hoping to to one day master such a skill.
Forget about mastery and focus on getting projects done and I'm sure before you even notice it you'd have become proficient. Good luck on your journey and congratulations on your expected grandchild :)
I'm 67 and haven't been able to crochet so far. You make it look nice and simple..... but then i read the comments, oh oh! I'm going to try when I've got a whole free day. Thanks for taking the time to teach us 😊
Hi Emily, am sorry for the introduction in your comment but I find you attractive and interesting I don't know if I could get a reply from you so we can get to know each other more and thank you 👍
Two and a half years ago, I watched this video probably 50 times before I figured out how to start. Today, I'm getting a friendly push to open my own etsy shop. Thank you for getting me "hooked"!
Dear , what a wonderful teaching video. Patient and detailed . I was crocheting immediately as you taught , in 5 mins. Unbelievable.😊was struggling till now. God bless.
I am the most uncoordinated person ever, tried to learn for years and now finally someone who shows it over and over and explains where needle should face. Made a few mistakes on the second row etc but unravelled and just kept trying. Amen thank you
I took it one step at a time, and re did each step several times to get the crochet to look like it’s supposed to. Keep your head up, and don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get it at first! Your brain will get it!
I don’t think you’ll ever see this but I wanted to thank you. I’ve been going through a pretty bad depression recently and I wanted to start this to to take my mind of things, other videos weren’t helping or working but your really did help me, I’ve started doing it and I already feel better, so thank you, making this video helped me more than you know
i know this is a sad-like comment and i'm glad you're getting to be happy- but HOW it is so frustrating when i make it too tight and it has to restart >:(
Same. I was in a depression that started in 2019 that lasted almost 3 years. The past few months I've been working really hard to drag myself out, literally. I didn't leave my home the entire time. My sister was murdered and it melted my brain. So, hopefully I can get this crochet thing to work out. I rejoined the local fire department and that's helped A LOT. Like you, I feel like giving back is a great way to pull myself away from the darkest place I've ever been. Good luck darlin. Hang in there
Years ago when I watched this video, I sat alone, the yarn in my hands a hopeless, tangled mess, much like the hole in my chest. My fingers fumbled, useless without her guidance, and I whispered her name as if saying it would bring her back. But she didn’t answer. She would never answer again. The room felt unbearably empty without her warmth, her laugh, her hands gently fixing my mistakes like she always did-not just in crochet, but in life. I needed her now, more than ever, but she was gone. Forever. The finality of it hit me like a thousand needles stabbing all at once. I would never hear her voice again, never feel her hand on mine, never see her proud smile when I got it right. Tears blurred my vision as I realized I couldn’t even finish this small thing without her. The world felt cold, cruel, and impossibly quiet, and all I could do was sit there, drowning in the aching, suffocating weight of her absence, wishing with every fiber of my being that she could come back-just one more time.
This is quite difficult to do, your not stupid. Do you think Van Gogh learned to paint overnight? No! It took years of practice to get that good. The trick is to try and try again. If you get frustrated, leave for ten minutes. Do something that makes you happy, or calm. Like meditating, listening to music, watching a lighthearted or funny video. Then come back, and try again
It's normal not to get a skill right away. You should really just practice making chains first. For as long as it takes to get the motion down pat of getting the hook through and a keeping a good tension. Then move on to other stitches.
I'm a COMPLETE BEGINNER and this tutorial has been INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! tysm :)) Here are the time skips: Slip-Knot( 0:52 ) Hold for hook and yarn( 1:16 ) Chain stitch( 1:53 ) Single Crochet( 3:22 ) Starting another row( 5:24 ) Redo-ing stitches( 6:24 ) Weave ends( 6:46 )
This tut is SO good!you dont jsut go, ok then do slip knot, jsut wrap roudn yo finger then hook the yarn then you sew it.then you end! You genuinely do it in depth so the vewiers understand
0:00 - Intro 0:52 - Make a slip knot 1:15 - Hold the hook 1:52 - Crochet a chain 3:35 - Crochet a single crochet 7:02 - Weave in ends hope this helped :)
i can knit but i cant crochet. excuse me whilst i sit down and cry because i can only make clothing and not anything fun edit: i can now crochet :) edit: i have crocheted a cardigan, a top, a giraffe, a frog, plant pot covers, a rabbit, a chicken, a bandana, a hat, a pig, a bee, a sheep, a duck, a tiger, 2 shirts and a monkey.
I have been watching crochet videos for 4 days and I had decided to take up on a new hobby this year, I know this will be hard at first but I am determined to do this
Getting into crocheting for the first time ever, and this was such a good and easy to follow tutorial! Even for an autistic person like me lol When I went to weave in the ends, I didn't have one of those needles so I just used a small safety pin, which worked very well! So for anyone who doesn't have that, just putting the string through a closed safety pin and then weaving it through works good!
To those who are frustrated, I found that it helped to slow it down to 0.5 speed so you can follow along slowly. Also, there's the added bonus of simplydaisy sounding incredibly drunk.
I have bought a bought teach my self to crochet. Watch a 1000 videos . Everyone e is to fast terrible teachers . Till I came across you thank God . My adhd understands your directions. Your so clear and you take your time . Thank you I was beginning to cry when I found you. Thank you so mucj
Thank you for sharing how to crochet. And for sharing your idea, your own learning methods and and thanks for doing this video. I didn't even order my crocheting tools so i still have time to learn from THANK YOU!! Love you ❤
Guys you will improve 😭 I've been trying it for a bit of time each day and after a few days of raging and crying I've finally got the hang of it 😌 just take a break and try again :)
Bokuto? What are you doing here? Maybe you can ask akaashi for help, also how's your team going?? And if you have spare time, tell Sugawara from karasuno that I said hi!! Goodluck on your match!
I learned this in kindergarten back in the 90's. I remember our teacher made us do crochet projects while she did story time. I never got as far as the chain, but the other students in the class did wonderfully. Now I'm 30, and I'm coming back to the crochet world, lol. I'm excited to return to this chapter of my life. Thank you for the tutorial! This helped me remember a lot! Update: I went out today and got the material I need to do this and I'll say, definitely start with thicker yarn. Thin yarn is not easy to work with and is hard to hold. But her tutorial really helped me alot and I've almost completed my little square! It only took me 3 hours to get it down comfortably. I highly recommend following her video and technique. 10/10!
I decided a few days ago this is a new skill that I wanted to learn, so I bought the basics and have been looking up so many tutorials and this is by FAR the best one and now I can actually kind of do it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I'm just gonna keep practising so it doesn't look so messy :D
I like how this tutorial doesn't over encumber you with information, and explains the reason for every motion unlike other tutorials, while going at an easy pace. Very well done, thank you for this! I've been struggling to figure out how to even bring the first loop into the slip knot until now. 💖
i’m on the younger side and lately i’ve been wanting to learn to crochet to make some money. i’ve seen a lot of really successful little crochet plushie businesses and i really want to start my own!
For those who are also trying to learn now, try to remember not to pull the string super tight. I have just started to try to learn myself and I've found pulling it nice and tight makes it really hard on you when you go to do your next row (i made this mistake when watching this video and it made it harder for me to follow along especially since I'm trying to do this before my adhd possibly decides to find a new hyper-fixation) Another tip is for you to listen to something especially if you can make it where its background noise, I've been able to fall into a trance like state while attempting to make a square and i stay calmer with music than silence. I say attempting cause well one im learning and two my attempts to make a square have turned into a coaster and a tree lol (don't ask how i managed to do that cause i don't know) Also REMEMBER TO TAKE BREAKS AND LET YOUR HANDS REST!!!!! It may take time but you'll get there and it'll feel good so don't lose faith or give up, you got this!! I hope this helps even if it's just a little
same! Desperately trying to hold on to this hyper-fixation cos I don't want to lose this one. I want to actually improve and get good at something not just run at it and then get mad and bored and drop it. Ive been learning for a couple of weeks but only by watching videos and taking it really slow. I bought a ball of yarn and a hook and just learnt different methods of holding, making a slip knot and I did and undid the chain so many times that my yarn went all curly :) Tried to make a granny square last night and it turned into a heart somehow... had a laugh about it and stopped. This morning I watched this tutorial yet again for like the third time and gave it a go and it actually looks half decent! I agree wholeheartedly, take breaks, get cosy drinks and find whether silence or music helps. So far, so good.
@@CreativelyDucks if you want to make the stitch you are on tighter, you can just pull the working string. It'll make the loop that's on the hook a little tighter. 😊 I'm still a beginner, but I'm trying to make a scarf for my mom rn. 😅
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I got gifted a knitting set with yarn and a bag to hold everything and despite my best efforts, it never felt comfortable but i always thought crotcheting might feel mroe comfortable. Afrer some trial and error i got it to work by rewinding and zooming in. Your tutorial made it super easy to understand. I definitely bought too small of a crochet hook though, i will have to get a set of multiple sizes tomorrow and try again. I was able to get it to work with your teaching, thank you so much ❤❤
I want to thank you soo very much for teaching me again. I knew when I was a teenager in 70s but of course, now I'm in my 60s. Am replacing smoking with crochet. Am sure I'll watch over n over. Thank you soo much!!
Day one: cries, throws phone, punches stranger Week 3: I made a smol socks/pouch..?? 😭😂 I'm so happy. 2 years later: ok guysss!!! i stopped practicing after a month or two and picked up my hook and yarn after 2 years and now i can crochet (kinda 🤣) i tried crocheting the famous cat ear beanie and it turned out quite okay 🥹
Omg, thank you!!! My grandmother has tried to teach me, but only you got throught my thick skull! Now, I'm working on my first small project thanks to you; a simple, one crochet scarf.
I watched this video about 5 years ago because I had no idea how to crochet. I just wanted to say that because of this, I've been crocheting things and learning since then. I've made hats, blankets, scarves, and I'm finishing my first cardigan now. Thank you so much for posting and sharing this content! This video truly made a difference in my life and I'm so glad I watched it all those years ago. Thank you!
I'm that stubborn determined girl who had to start over more than 10 times already but I know learning crochet is worth it so I'm not giving up :>> Edit: I don't consider myself a pro but I am definitely better at crocheting now. I even already sold some of my works. Never give up!
tysm for this tutorial. ive been on utube for 45 min(not a joke) tryna see and find a nice tut that will teach me how to do a single crotchet. urs has helped me a lot. tysm again

I’m trying my best to learn how to crochet but it seems quite impossible right now.. So I took a look at the comment section and gosh was it inspiring! From teenagers to elders everyone had a fun story about crocheting and it gave me hope bc lots of people seem to have struggled like I am but kept going and now they have great skills ! Even if I’m struggling to do the basic stitches I find this hobby quite grounding and relaxing. I can’t wait to post an update once I’ll learn the basics ! Thanks for your video and thanks everyone for their comments!
I'm managing with the first 11 stitches... the next set not so much but my inspiration is my Harry Potter crochet kit next to me which I am determined to complete by the end of April 😂
In trying to learn to crochet I've looked at books and other videos. Yours, by far, is the easiest to understand. It was never clear to me before. Thank you. I you the best and much success.
I have tried for years to learn to crochet. People have shown me in person, I've looked at TH-cam videos, diagrams, no luck. I decided anyone who crocheted was probably using witchcraft and left it at that. But then I saw this video and something about it clicked. So well done, you! Now I have to apologize to friends and family members whom I accused of socrcery.
for anyone who actually sees this: just know that crocheting can be very hard to learn at first (coming from someone with experience in that regard); however, not giving up is key and if you keep truing and practicing you’ll eventually get the hang of it…believe in yourself and have hope ✨✨ you got this 👊 *edit: thank you so much for all of the likes-I have never gotten this many before-but more importantly, I truly never expected this many people to see my comment (hence why it has taken me this long to see your comments and respond back to them lol oops 🫢😬) and that it would impact this many people in such a positive way and I’m just so happy and glad to have helped encourage, motivate, and help you guys! & thank you so much, your kind comments mean so much to me and I have enjoyed reading them all so much 🤍*

I'm doing the same!! My mom died in January of 2018 and she was going to teach me how to crochet and then she died 😭 so I'm determined to learn this in memory of her
Thanks you daisy. My daughter recently had the interest in crochet. I was pleasantly surprised because I use to crochet with my grandma. I watched some of your beginners video to jog my memory. I really hope this crochet thing is like riding a bike lol. Thanks daisy!!!
I just wanna say I'm so very thankful for this video. 2017 I was going through a depressive state, I myself didn't know I had depression but life had no meaning back then. One day I had the thought that I'd take up crocheting and it helped me ge through the summer. It helped me be productive while taking my mind off a lot of things so thank you very much. 🧡🧡🧡
No, its difficult on the first try. Its even still a bit difficult for me 4 months later, but I got better. Its okay to admit that youre still in practice. Youre not slow
Thank you for being one of the only videos I found to ACTUALLY go over the basics and not just throw me into a half made blanket and give instructions as if I've been crocheting for years and claiming it was for begingers. Very good tutorial. Thank you 😭
Hello everyone!
Thanks! Now I feel a bit better and a bit more confident my crotchet skills will improve ☺
thank you :)
?

I will continue to keep watching it and making my hands move until I get it, then I will comment my success too!
Any success? I've just started learning to crochet and want to give up already :(
So, I watched the video and I caught on rather quickly.

I have a tip for anyone struggling that really helped me. Practice just the chain stitch for a long time, I did it for like an hour and a half while watching a show. Do the chain until you get your tension right and get used to holding the yarn, then you can do single crochet easily!! I also made a chain with 5 different methods of holding the yarn and compared them to see which method worked the best for me.
ok tysm i’m getting so frustrated trying to keep up with the video and do this at the same time
Thank you! This will surely help.
Tysm, I’ve been getting so upset that my chains have been so tight or too loose this is really going to help me

Just starting to learn crochet here too, watching episodes of Chopped (edit: Pioneer Woman is another great show that's more relaxed) while practicing chain stitch at the same time, so we're getting cooking inspiration while at the same time also getting in crochet practice: multitasking to the max! (Haha)
Do your best, everyone!
Day 1. I learnt how to chain and made a braclet out of chain stitches
Day 2. I learnt how to do a single crochet! ( in the morning )
Day 3. I am getting better at doing single crochet!
Day 6: ( Sorry I forgot to update it.) I can now crochet a square! Tysm!

BIG football player Rosie Greer started knitting decades ago and showed off his skill on a television talk show.

This is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
aww gl!!

Update: after undoing a few stitches on the blanket, I’ve figured out what the stitch is. So far I can’t find what it’s called, or if it’s an official stitch, but I can *finally* finish it and it all started here 🤍
Basically the stitch was like a double crochet, you get three loops on your hook, but instead of pulling through 2 and then 2 again, you pull through all 3.
Don’t know if that makes sense lmao, thank y’all for all your support
Update!

That's amazing!!!

i’m glad reading the comments that i’m not the only one struggling. she makes it look so simple!!
I have super shaky hands so i feel your pain 😭
I took it one step at a time, and re did each step several times to get the crochet to look like it’s supposed to. Keep your head up, and don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get it at first! Your brain will get it!
I don’t think you’ll ever see this but I wanted to thank you. I’ve been going through a pretty bad depression recently and I wanted to start this to to take my mind of things, other videos weren’t helping or working but your really did help me, I’ve started doing it and I already feel better, so thank you, making this video helped me more than you know
I hope you get better 🎉🎉🎉
i know this is a sad-like comment and i'm glad you're getting to be happy- but HOW it is so frustrating when i make it too tight and it has to restart >:(
Hang in there
damn we're in the same situation lol
I CAN'T DO ANYTHING I'M CRYING THIS IS SO HARD AND I'M SO STUPID
This is quite difficult to do, your not stupid. Do you think Van Gogh learned to paint overnight? No! It took years of practice to get that good. The trick is to try and try again. If you get frustrated, leave for ten minutes. Do something that makes you happy, or calm. Like meditating, listening to music, watching a lighthearted or funny video. Then come back, and try again
It's normal not to get a skill right away. You should really just practice making chains first. For as long as it takes to get the motion down pat of getting the hook through and a keeping a good tension. Then move on to other stitches.
i'm never trying again💀
My hook isn't catching my yarn. Incredibly frustrating. We can do this

I have been watching crochet videos for 4 days and I had decided to take up on a new hobby this year, I know this will be hard at first but I am determined to do this
Getting into crocheting for the first time ever, and this was such a good and easy to follow tutorial! Even for an autistic person like me lol
When I went to weave in the ends, I didn't have one of those needles so I just used a small safety pin, which worked very well! So for anyone who doesn't have that, just putting the string through a closed safety pin and then weaving it through works good!
I'm 71 years old and still trying to learn how to crochet. This is one of the best videos I have seen for beginners!
😊
To those who are frustrated, I found that it helped to slow it down to 0.5 speed so you can follow along slowly. Also, there's the added bonus of simplydaisy sounding incredibly drunk.

Ra
I decided a few days ago this is a new skill that I wanted to learn, so I bought the basics and have been looking up so many tutorials and this is by FAR the best one and now I can actually kind of do it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I'm just gonna keep practising so it doesn't look so messy :D
I like how this tutorial doesn't over encumber you with information, and explains the reason for every motion unlike other tutorials, while going at an easy pace. Very well done, thank you for this! I've been struggling to figure out how to even bring the first loop into the slip knot until now. 💖
Yes, this is the best tutorial I've found. Thanks!
:)
i’m on the younger side and lately i’ve been wanting to learn to crochet to make some money. i’ve seen a lot of really successful little crochet plushie businesses and i really want to start my own!
But, she goes so fast
I'm finally figuring out how to move past the slip knot lol thanks to this tutorial.
Also make sure they aren't too loose I made that mistake lol
Have fun!
How do I even make it tight 😢
@@CreativelyDucks if you want to make the stitch you are on tighter, you can just pull the working string. It'll make the loop that's on the hook a little tighter. 😊 I'm still a beginner, but I'm trying to make a scarf for my mom rn. 😅
