    Hey Jake, had a few minutes and figured I'd say hello. Hope all is well. So I see that you consider yourself more agnostic atheist and from this video it seems you have done a fair amount of research into different things that you would like to discuss in upcoming vids and such and it also seems like your still searching and seeking for truth and that's always a good thing. I've asked you a few questions and appreciate the answers and conversation. I know I mentioned this before and I understand we all get busy but I just wanted to remind you to look into Ivan Panin. He was a Russian Mathematician, Harvard Graduate and firm agnostic until he made an interesting discovery. He has a incredible amount of published works and a public challenge that has never been refuted and I think you would find his stuff pretty interesting and I'd like to hear your thoughts on his findings. Hope to hear back from you soon.

    haha, cool first video. It makes me wonder what in the world my video would've been like if I had started a channel when I first became an atheist six years ago. LOL actually it probably would've been awful, I was in a baaaad place at the time lol (ya know, realizing that everything I had lived for and sacrificed for all my life was for something that didn't exist).
    I don't know what kind of place you're in (I'm new to your channel), but I hope it's a good place. And even if it's not, I hope that finding this freedom from the chains of religion gives your heart wings in spite of anything.
    Much love. :)

      @@atheistjake ohhhh I'm so glad to hear you're troubles weren't so bad and even better that you're doing alright, that's wonderful!!! :D
      I still haven't watched more than maybe two of your videos so far so there's a lot I still don't know about your story.
      For me, I took my relationship with gawd so seriously that my entire world revolved around "seeking him".
      My entire world was prayer and trying to figure out gawd's will for my life.
      I would describe prayer as like pressing your ear against a wall and straaaaaining to hear something,
      and then your mind plays games on you and you can't tell if you heard something, and then you think,
      "oh I did hear something!"
      but then you're like "no wait that was just my ear brushing against the wall".
      Yeah that in a nutshell is what prayer was like, always straining to hear gawd and never knowing if I "actually" heard him or not,
      but I guess you already know what that's like. :)
      Btw if the old me saw me saying "gawd" instead of "God", she'd faint.
      gawd is part of my way of having a sense of humor about it all.
      But anyway, I was sooooo deep into it, that when I finally "woke up" at the age of 33, I felt like I was 80, I felt so old and that I had lived so long and wasted all of my life for something that didn't exist, and it felt like my life was over.
      Thaaaankfully I got over that, and though I'm no spring chicken, I no longer feel 80 haha. In so many ways it feels like my life has just started, and after getting past all those giant hurdles that I didn't think I had the strength to get past, I'm now excited to live this new life full of pure freedom and joy.
      And once I was at peace being atheist (and boy am I at peace!), for the first time ever in my whole life, I no longer felt like an imposter.
      I feel so completely and utterly and so HONESTLY me.
      And what a glorious feeling that is.
      Again, something I think you also know all too well at this point. :)
      Cheers.
      LOL and this is a giant ass message so don't feel like you gotta respond to it too! I just felt inclined to share it. :)
      K cheers!!! :D
      (oh and if the old me heard me cuss, she'd faint again)

    Does it mean you have proved that The Creator of universe doesnt exist?
    My knowledge about the Creator of universe comes from a book.
    This book mentions about the big bang, the expanding universe, the origin of life, pain receptor on the skin, and so many other latest scientific stuff.
    And this book is over 1400 years old.
    The author of this book clams as the Creator of universe and everything in it.
    I cant debunk this book, so im still believing it.

    • @atheistjake
      @atheistjake  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yay, my first comment! Welcome to my channel :)
      I definitely can't prove that a god being doesn't exist, but I also don't have to. It's up to each religion or belief system to offer their best evidence. I don't claim that no god(s) exist, just that there's not enough evidence to prove it yet. So I think it's the best (and most honest) choice to withhold belief in god until better evidence is presented, I just haven't seen any yet. Does that make sense?
      Also, in your opinion, does the Bible's correctness about one subject or topic mean that it's correct about ALL subjects and topics?

    • @tarno_bejo_
      @tarno_bejo_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@atheistjake Aye aye.
      Well, but your channel says atheist. An atheist wouldnt believe even a chance of the existence of The Creator at all dude.
      Whats your saying is making you more as an agnostic, i think.
      And im talking about the quran. Not bible. Im a muslim :)
      Those scientific things i ve mentioned before have been mentioned in the quran, a book from 1400 years ago.
      You may check that out yourself.
      Tho, you may expect some "horrible" verses. Only because the quran is also addressing the rule of war.
      Some people stopped reading the quran after encountered such verse. I think everyone has to read the whole thing first before make their own thought.
      But yeah, 80% subjects in the quran has been proven true scientifically (thats what i ve learned). While the 20% talks ambiguously. Only because our science hasnt been advancing that far, i think.
      So, it just makes sense for me to take it as 100%.

    • @atheistjake
      @atheistjake  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My apologies about the Quran mixup, my mistake :)
      You're almost correct about atheism/agnosticism, but it actually doesn't have to be one or the other. Atheism is just the position of having no belief in a deity, nothing more. Agnosticism deals with whether or not we KNOW something to be true and/or demonstrable. My actual position would be that of an 'agnostic atheist', where I don't know and can't prove any god to exist, therefore I choose to not hold a god belief until the evidence changes.
      To describe someone who is convinced 100% that no gods can exist at all, that would be considered a gnostic atheist (or even an anti-theist), since they claim to KNOW that there can be no gods.
      I just shorten my label to 'atheist' tho, since it sounds better and it's less complicated than 'Jake the Agnostic Atheist' lol. I certainly believe there is always the possibility of a god, but I don't think it's reasonable to make assumptions or believe in any of them based on the evidence we have currently. Hope that makes a little more sense now :)

    • @atheistjake
      @atheistjake  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Last thing, but I don't agree that it makes sense to accept all of the Quran when we only have evidence for parts of it. No matter the percentages, that's still a leap in logic, and the most honest approach would be to only accept what can be proven and admit that we just don't know about the rest yet. Including the existence of any gods. Does that make sense?
      Sorry if I can't go into much detail on the Quran and Islam. I'm an ex-Christian and have primarily been working around that side of atheism. I'm happy to continue replying to what I can though, and thanks again for commenting! :)

    • @tarno_bejo_
      @tarno_bejo_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@atheistjake I thought atheist meant anti-theist.
      Well, the modern scientific facts in the quran aint really the only evidence.
      I can mention atleast the other 3
      1) there is no contradiction in the quran. Non muslim has mistaken exception as contradiction.
      2) Hundreds thousands muslims have memorized the quran in arabic. Many of em dont even know arabic.
      Its like memorizing a chinese book without knowing chinese language.
      3) There is only one version of quran for the past 1400 year. 114 chapters 6236 verses (or 6348 verses if you count the verse number zero).
      Again, some non muslims have mistaken dialects for version. The dialects have existed during the time of the prophet.
      Any other book than from The Creator wont have those criteria.
      The challenge for non muslim is debunking those criteria.
      Not to mention the 20% hasnt been proven wrong scientifically. As i said, it talks ambiguously. It doesnt mean wrong.
      And im trying to be open minded as well. But i do have the basic sense as well.
      Having multiple gods doesnt make sense. They would fight each other. When one lost to other, it meant losing the all mighty trait. When it just makes sense for a Creator to be all mighty most powerful.
      My pleasure.
      But as reminder, christianity aint the only religion on earth. You gotta explore islam from the whole quran.
      Well, you gotta explore other religions as well to be fair.
