His tone in some places reminds me of the Fallout New Vegas Yes Man when you destroy the securitron army at the fort instead of taking control of them like a sane person. "Wow, you really restored Poland as an anti-communist dictatorship!... Great! No problem!"
This would probably have been the least awful peace deal yet if not for our collective obsession with Poland. Letting Stalin puppet Poland would have probably made him more or less OK with this outcome, as while he has lost Baltic Sea access compared to OTL, he has gained massive dominance over the Black Sea and at least somewhat non-hostile regimes in large parts of the Mediterranean. He also got Sakhalin, which is all he could really want in the East, and the expansion of states which could easily fall into the Soviet sphere into Chinese territory.
Puppeted Poland basically guarantees the Baltic states fall back in to the Soviet orbit, so Stalin would certainly be happy enough with that. The borders the viewers drew, on the other hand, ensures that Soviet troops never withdraw from the frontlines. Puppet states by another name, I suppose.
And the underdeveloped eastern regions populated by Ukrainians /Belarusians are not necessary for Poland to be "stronk". All those do is paint a bright red Soviet target on Poland's back.
@@KiraiKatsuji This is just going to get them invaded by the Soviets all over again. You can't make Poland stronk with changes at this point in the timeline, it's too late for that. Try the WW1 poll if you want a stronk Poland.

And that they balkanized India, meaning China will likely be the sole future Superpower of Asia sooner or later and will be able to divide and conquer India Diplomatically, and the same with Indonesia. But yeah, aside from that and being stupid about the Soviets, not too bad. One video concept I think you could explore is an "alternate end" peace deal. Like maybe one where Napolean wins instead of loses, Central Powers win ww1 etc. Could be funny.
Surely the conflict between Poles and Soviets would be inevitable with such borders, but I doubt it will end in WW3. Stalin would pressure for extra consetion but if he will see collective disapproval from the West I think Moscow will take step back to not provoke another war - IRL that was the case with Iran and Turkey. Main question is, will the Cold War even happen? The Red meanece is less present, Europe isn't divided in half and Soviet Union have less geopolitical advantages to successfuly pressure their ideology on others
The changes I voted on that went through: Luxembourg Netherlands* Hungary Austria** Sahalin *The lesser expansion option was technically achieved by the greater one **I voted for a democracy, but this is fine too I guess
The only change I made that went through was Bulgarian annexation into specifically Tito's Yugoslavia. They didn't collapse into bloody civil war during the continuation video and even ended up being important in the Third World War so I'll take a personal W from it.
I find it particularly fascinating the monarchies return and with them the Hohenzollern dynasty. For a few years until they boot him out, King Micheal of Romania is also still of that Dynasty, maybe in this timeline he can exile in Germany instead of Switzerland, maybe the monarchy in Romania even stays or comes back? It was actually incredibly popular at the time and after the fall of communism, so much so that the post Romanian Revolution leaders barred Micheal from coming back out of fear everyone would want him back.
I kinda wish the WWI poll had options for the outcomes of the attempted German, Hungarian, Finish, and Italian revolutions. But I guess that’s not something being decided by the people negotiating the treaty.
i would like to state that it is incredibly unlikely that a us candidate would have won in korea as foreign powers were very unpopular across the entire peninsula, meanwhile Kim Il Sung was massively popular due to his immense success against the japanese in war, as well as being a great speaker and statesman generally. that is actually the only reason the RoK exists today, because the US didnt want a strong, united, socialist korea to impede on their ability to control east asia from Japan

Best scenario for WW2 would've been an alliance of Poland, Germany, Britain, France and perhaps others against the Soviet Union. This could've been possible if a more moderate leader came to power in Germany in the 1930s instead of A.H. or if A.H. was removed from power before 1939. Germany could still get most of the territory it had by the end of 1938 without having really bad relations with Britain and France. Germany could have given guarantees to defend Eastern European countries against Soviet aggression. Before the German occupation of Czechia in March 1939 an alliance between Germany, Britain and France against the Soviets was a real possibility. In case of a Soviet attack in this scenario the Soviets wouldn't have any allies or the Lend - Lease and would've been defeated by the European anti-Soviet coalition.
I wonder what would happen after that. I want to see the alternate timeline, especially the continuation of the series about the viewer map of Africa.

Soviets would be salty, Northern Italy would probably become an example of a "successful" socialist state & probably close trade partners with Yugoslavia, atleast compared to Southern Italy, German politics would probably be dominated by the reunification question for decades, RoC may beat PRoC, but either one would probably invade unstable mongolia and manchuria to get their land back, Cold War would probably be further factionalised as socialist states following the Italian model diverge from Stalinist Russia, India might unify under some of the stronger states or there might be a lot of war. Same with SEA. Japan probably does a bit better than our timeline.

Im shocked the redditors let the soviets have anything.
I mean I think PH viewers are actually quite rational about the consequences of their actions except in certain specific cases. They weren't trying to screw over the Soviets, they just really like Poland.
@plasmakitten4261 yeah but I didn't expect the soviets to get anything, I thought it was going to be monarchy and democracy up the wazoo and no soviet expansion in the east, even south sakhalin. Every single one of these polls is basically "Russia bad, Germany good" except this one.
@@mappingshaman5280 Not really, they're all "Poland good, anything that could possibly obstacle Poland bad", and Russia has been an unfortunate casualty of the pro-Poland crusade in both this and the Congress of Vienna videos.
i think there probably wasn't an option to balkanize the USSR, because.. well, they won the war. Otherwise you're damn right they would have done it lmao
Considering that the majority of viewers also wanted to restore the idiotic Polish interwar dictatorship, I'm convinced that it's just as much a pro-Polish thing as an anti-Soviet thing. I don't particularly like the USSR but even I gave them reasonable compensation for their war efforts, even if it was less than in our timeline.
BUT POLAND NEEDS TO BE STRONK!!!
And the underdeveloped eastern regions populated by Ukrainians /Belarusians are not necessary for Poland to be "stronk". All those do is paint a bright red Soviet target on Poland's back.
@@gengarzilla1685 Listen bigger equates stonker no matter that the cultural tears cause more problem than their worth
@@KiraiKatsuji This is just going to get them invaded by the Soviets all over again. You can't make Poland stronk with changes at this point in the timeline, it's too late for that. Try the WW1 poll if you want a stronk Poland.
When I read the option for dividing up India, I had assumed that it would be along the lines of the Princely States. I didn't expect a total ethnic balkanization.

Holy moly Italian and German nationalism is gonna have a fieldday after this peacedeal.
I love these videos were you ask you’re viewers to choose the borders of Europe and we see how they play out.
Honestly I don't think we did too badly with this one, with the exception of the Soviets being rather unhappy, which may lead to more conflict in the future
And that they balkanized India, meaning China will likely be the sole future Superpower of Asia sooner or later and will be able to divide and conquer India Diplomatically, and the same with Indonesia.
But yeah, aside from that and being stupid about the Soviets, not too bad. Would of been more interesting if Poland and Czechoslovakia were Soviet Puppets, as well as the Baltic annexed by the Soviets, but oh well.
No this is absolutly terrible. Italy and germany are carved up. Soviet discontend starts ww3 and possibly a nuclear war. India is balkanized making sure that china is the sole superpower in asia , indochina is probably breaking up with a civil war. mongolian chinese and manchu conflict are bound to happen.
It's 100% going to lead to conflict, I predict 1945/46
This is a horrible peace that will lead to instability in Asia, leave China as the dominant asian power, and will lead to irreparable damage from the 3rd world war.
also remember the us has nukes the ussr don't atlest not yet so stalins hands are tied
Honestly, if the Soviets had a few more puppets, it seems actually like a good deal.
And maybe a little different Asia.
My overall European division in the votes involved a smaller East Germany with German division running entirely along the Oder, Poland as in our timeline, a dissolution of the Czechoslovak state with Slovakia in the eastern bloc and Hungary and Romania as in our timeline, with Bulgaria going under Tito's Yugoslavia instead. Austria was also fully under the west. My intent was to push the Iron Curtain back a bit while still maintaining that unbroken ring of Soviet buffer states stretching from Baltic to Black.

That Manchurian Qing state is a humongous slap in the face too. Way more so than American Taiwan. It basically legitimizes Imperial Japan's illegal seizure of Manchuria and vindicates its puppet emperor Puyi, the deposed last Emperor of China, for collaborating with the Japanese.
Honestly, this one might be an even worse decision than letting Poland keep both the east lands and interwar dictatorship. Embracing an artificial Japanese collaborationist "nation" in the postwar world will *absolutely* go over well at the peace negotiations.

The Red meanece is less present, Europe isn't divided in half and Soviet Union have less geopolitical advantages to successfuly pressure their ideology on others
...yet. The fate of China is still up in the air and I bet Stalin will want a pro-Soviet government to win it just to spite the west.
The changes I voted on that went through:
Luxembourg
Netherlands*
Hungary
Austria**
Sahalin
*The lesser expansion option was technically achieved by the greater one
**I voted for a democracy, but this is fine too I guess
The only change I made that went through was Bulgarian annexation into specifically Tito's Yugoslavia. They didn't collapse into bloody civil war during the continuation video and even ended up being important in the Third World War so I'll take a personal W from it.
Por lo más sagrado, nunca dejes que tus seguidores vuelvan a elegir las fronteras del mundo
