I would like to point out that public services- police, fire rescue, etc...- and public transit, as well as road and sewer maintenance, and even public schools are big parts of Socialism. So we've already got aspects of Socialism within the Republic of the United States of America, which uses a Democratic government to regulate a Capitalist economy.

I voted against Obama twice, but this needs to be said: he's the guy that brought us out of the Great Recession, and the guy who followed him tried to take credit for the fact that the economy was on pretty much the same upward course Obama had it on. Gunny, you were a great patriot, a brave Marine, and a fine actor. But you weren't much of an economist, and you certainly didn't keep tract of the statistics.
