68 Chevelle DIY Garage Body Work and Paint - Part 1

Part 1 of DIY body work and paint in my garage on my 1968 Chevelle. I start tearing into the '68 Chevelle to find out how much rust there is and what I'm going to have to fix before I paint it. Also an update on it since bringing it home. I plan on doing all the body work and painting myself and I am no expert so I'm hoping for the best! I'm also working through a mild case of Covid at the same time.

Those slot mags are perfect! I spent years trying to find an original set for my 65 Stang, then US Mags finally started remaking them. Looking forward to seeing the paint and bodywork!

First video I watch from you I'm impressed I like them very much with the back bevels around the back window on that Chevelle you didn't dodge a bullet you dodged a cannon because I had a '66 Chevy to set for most of its life in the garage from 1966 to 69 it was on the street and then from 69 to like in the 1990s when I bought it back from my neighbor which was my mom's original first car in 1966 my mom and dad I think my back windows we're in the same shape if that car would have sat out in the weather it would have been a lot worse because they rust bad back there by the way my 66 Impala had no quarter panel rust no rockers were rusted and the front fenders weren't rusted 18,000 miles when I looked at the odometer and bought it back from my neighbor for 35 bucks everybody else number that was looking at the car that day was I think the Indian bid was 12,000 and I took it away for 35 money he said it was for groceries

my older brother bought the 69 ss with 427 before going to vietnam...lot of ass for a 19yr old but back then boy's became men at alot earlier age too..rock on

Chevelle are know to rust in the front and rear windows that goes into the trunk

I like the cragars but I dnt think there is a muscle car out there that doesn't look good with aluminum slots on it

I'm in the process of buying a '68 Chevelle out of a salvage yard and your back window rust really has me worried. Tomorrow when I go put money down on it I'm going to look this area over. It's been in the salvage yard a long time 😬

yes, check this out hard but most of these A bodies rust right there as there is no drain for it.
