I thought I'd suggest another band to give a listen, if interested. "Halestorm - Familiar Taste of Poison [Official Music Video]" (by the channel: Halestorm) --This song is from their second studio album called "The Strange Case..." released in 2012. Halestorm is a rock band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania. Their music blends several genres including hard-rock, heavy-metal, alternative-metal, post-grunge and even some alternative-rock. What sets them apart is that their one of the few bands to have a female frontperson. And their lyrical content explores gritty, and topics typically shied away from.
Growing up as a kid I was a KISS fan.....As I grew up I became a Judas Priest fan. The more I listened the more I liked. They became my favorite band of all time, still to this day, they never failed to bring the heavy in Heavy Metal. There music catalog is just huge.......PainKiller, Freewheel Burning, Another Thing Coming, Living After Midnight, Sentinel, Judas Rising, Sad Wings of Destiny.......it just goes on and on, can't go wrong with Priest.
This song came out in 77 which is why there’s so much 70s groove in it. One of my favorite songs because it’s groovy enough to sound 70s but hard enough to seem like 80s metal. So many ups and downs and you can’t beat a good gong hit in a song lol.
One of the best live recordings for sound quality etc - alot of people request the hits but to really appreciate where they're sound began go back to an early album like "Sin after Sin" it will amaze - totally different feel even bluesy at times (2nd album I ever bought)
@@setonhillstudios As a live video, for me its their best. But "Unleashed in the East" by Priest is one of the greatest live albums of all time, capturing their early classics.
This is close to the lp cut. The solo in the middle is only on the live cut. This song is actually two songs put together. Rob wrote the second part I think, but may have been the first part (I cannot check wiki while I am doing this lol). The band had a singer before Rob but was not on any lp. He had written the first part. It was titled Whiskey Woman. They did not know what to do with Rob's part so they put the two together. This was their 2nd lp. Check out Dreamer, Deceiver Electric Eye Beyond the realm of Death You Got Another Thing Comming
I was 15, my sister and her friends went to this show. My parents wouldn't let me go. Scorpions, Ozzy, Van Halen, Triumph and more. She still rubs it in.. lol
@setonhillstudios I still have the ticket stub. It was only $6.50, and that was $1.50 more than the Styx concert, 1 month earlier. I've seen Priest 16 more times after that show.
Though I'm sure it's not popular I'd suggest Run of the Mill, so many different parts but you also get to hear Rob's great lower range tones and then end will amaze you. Thanks for the video, love your channel!
Great reaction! Priest is amazing live. Saw them in 2019 , Uriah Heep opened for them. Going again in October at the Forum in Lis Angeles. You may want to check out their tour to see if they'll be near you , you would love it 💜🤘
Recommendations from a guy who's band was the priest since 1973. The Sentinel LIVE fuel for life tour. But if you want to see how cool they were in the early 70's when Rob had long hair and was just a kid check out Dreamer Deceiver / Deceiver (BBC Performance)
That was a good day...I was there for Metal Day; spending my 21st b-day with Quiet Riot _ Motley Crue _ OZZY _ Judas Priest _ Triumph _ Scorpions _ Van Halen. This was when their Screaming For Vengeance album just cam out. Try these two - Helion/Electric Eye __ Screaming For Vengeance; same concert even. But the whole album is really good.
Good to see some recognition for their drummer during this time in their career, Mr. Dave Holland, former from Trapeze with Ian Gillan. Not fancy super technical stuff but just groove and good taste.
This is from the 1983 US Festival on rock and metal day….featuring groups like Motley Crue, Triumph, Scorpions, Ozzy, Quiet Riot , Judas Priest and Van Halen…there was over 300,000 people in the crowd that day.
My number 2 band😂 British Steel album is a masterpiece 😂Steeler, The Rage, Metal Gods, Screaming For Vengeance, Turbo Lover, You Don't Have to be Old to Be Wise, You Got Another Think Comin😂😂❤❤
Others will surely recomend their classics, but you may as well try some of their newest work from this year. Be it Panic Attack or a title track called Invincible Shield or one of my favs from 2018's album No Surrender. All bangers!
I was at the US Festival with 350K of my closest friends. Priest destroyed! The whole experience was a once in a lifetime. You might get lots of views if you react to the concert. Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Triumph, Ozzy, Priest, Scorpions and the Mighty Van Halen. The Scorps came on with fighter jets flying overhead as they went into Blackout! Check it out!
Screaming For Vengeance is my fav album by them. I even have the picture vinyl that was only played once just to ease my curiosity that it actually did play. Anyway, the title track will blow your mind, brother! Two songs that are always played together, The Hellion/Electric Eye, will melt your face!! If you still want more after that, we'll have em for you. I'm sure the live versions are killer, but the studio is so polished that Rob makes your eyes bleed, the guitars make lightning come out of your ears, and finally, if you haven't expired yet, the drums and bass will cause your heart to explode. This disclaimer negates any liability on my part. 🤣🤪
The album sad wings of destiny is one of my favorites. Victim of changes is a little shorter the guitar break isn’t that long in the studio version. But it’s cool as hell
The studio version has the bit with the bit where they open it up and he goes down the scale, but it doesn't have the insane build up to speed riff. Do yourself a favor and check it out - and then remind yourself it's from 1976!!!!
Hey brother, I just noticed that you're a drummer. I was about to ask you if you were a drummer. Because you were mentioning certain rudiments like flames and runs on the drums. And then I notice the title on your channel. Wow, I am also a drummer, percussionist. Started at the age of 6yrs old but I can remember doing the pots and pans plus trash 🗑️ and using #2 pencils for sticks at an earlier age. Can later my mother noticed and actually paid for my first actual first trap set. Then went on from bear into learning sheet music in junior high in high school bands.
Love that! Yeah I started playing alittle later in life (around 14 years old). On our homepage we have some more drum related content under the playlist ‘Drums and More Drums.’ Glad you found the channel and I hope you are enjoying the content! Have a great one! 🥁
Since you’ve already heard Painkiller and you’re a drummer I think you’d appreciate Junna’s drum cover of Painkiller. Also it’s very hard to pick a good priest song to suggest you do next cuz they’re all good but I’d say Hellrider or Judas Rising
Suggested Listening, Breaking the Law, Metal Gods, Blood Red Skies, Revolution, Conquest & Fire, Heavy Duty, Take on the World & No Surrender - I could go on all night with suggestions, having seen them 37 times since 1979, the last being only two months ago, Halford is a power house and if you really want a peek into that world of high intensity six octave range, there's no better song than Dissident Aggressor..
Might i suggest Panic Attack, they just released a live performance video a few days ago, Rob still can get up there too. Great channel. love your work man!
You’ve got another thing coming - might be their biggest song . But it doesn’t showcase Robs voice as much. Pain Killer is a must . I love Rapid Fire and Metal Gods. The live version of Blood Red Skies is amazing !
Those are fake Marshall"' under the drums. They open up and Rob drives a Harley on stage to end the show. "Hell Bent fir Leather" is the last song I believe?

Glenn Tipton & KK Downing, one of the coolest guitar teams ever..been a Priest fan since the 1970s 🤘🏻🤘🏻 the blond is KK, Glenn the one in red.
Thanks for the info!
The greatest band to ever walk the face of the earth.
Judas Priest blew EVERY OTHER ACT out of the water at this festival. Electric Eye is also amazing.... hopefully you can do that one next.
Not that I disagree with you, but TRIUMPH stole the show. Nobody seen it coming.
Rob Halford = Metal God .
Judas Priest and Iron Maiden are 2 of the most influential metal bands ever!!!!!!
They are still the two best bands in the genre.
Electric eye or Screaming for vengeance from the same concert will blow your mind for sure, keep it up
Thanks for the suggestions!
Also Desert Plains, either the Live Vengeance 82 or an older Uncle Bobby version (different drummer)🤘🍻👍
I was 17 and this day in 1983 was the greatest day in Metal history ! Day 2 of the 1983 US festival ! Thank you Woz !!!!!
No auto tune, no pitch correction, hell, not even any in ears, just stage monitors. Real dudes playin real music!!! Damn i miss the 80's!!! 🤘🤘
British Steel is my favorite Priest Album
Studio cut is great but, this live version they are all Delivering the goods!
You’re doing a lot of my favorite bands , Judas Priest , KISS. AC/DC, DIO and VH. Glad you’re enjoying them! Legends!
Thanks for watching! Having a blast!
Sinner, The Sentinel, Exciter
Their song Sinner on Unleashed in the East is HIGHLY recommended.
Thanks for the suggestion!
7:38 that was so crazy how they all just came back in without a count in

I bet it was killer!
Love this song.

Great insight! I couldn’t agree more! 🔥
Not 77 mate, it’s from sad wings of destiny 1975
It's in the album and it's even better on their live album.
Priest wrote this song in the early 70's!!!!
Such a banger! 🔥
"Steeler" by priest, live from the hard rock! Freaking killer!
One of the best live recordings for sound quality etc - alot of people request the hits but to really appreciate where they're sound began go back to an early album like "Sin after Sin" it will amaze - totally different feel even bluesy at times (2nd album I ever bought)
Sweet, I’ll have to check it out!
"Metal Day" at the 1983 US Festival was epic. You should check out all the performances.
I can confirm that. I was there. It was epic! And yes, that makes me an old metal head.🤟
I was there as well ! Greatest Metal line up ever !
Saw them twice in the early 80s Them and Rush were my fav concerts at that time
I bet it was epic!

Let’s goooo! Thanks so much for watching!
The legendary Dave Holland on the drum kit.
