PHENOMENAL! What should we check out from Iron Maiden next?!
The Trooper music video
Check out "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner". Epic!
The clansman
Clive Burr on drums… before Nicko McBrain joined.
Gotcha! Appreciate the info and you swinging by the channel!
@@setonhillstudios Yep, the was pre-Nicko, Clive on drums for this performance.
Clive Burr was truly a powerhouse behind the drum kit. His energetic and precise playing, especially with a single pedal kick drum, added so much groove and tightness to Iron Maiden's early sound. Songs like 'Genghis Khan,' 'Run to the Hills,' and 'The Prisoner' showcase his amazing talent. If you haven't already, I highly recommend checking out Iron Maiden's 'The Prisoner' live from Beast over Hammersmith and the studio version of 'Run to the Hills.' It's tragic that he passed away, but his legacy lives on. RIP Clive Burr!!!🥁💥
RIP Clive Burr
This is quite possibly the best rock song, and performance, ever. Of any band.
It is INCREDIBLE indeed! Absolutely loved it! 🔥
Bruce said in an interview recently that one of his biggest regrets was not giving clive burr more time to straighten out his life. He was phenomenal.
It wasn't Bruce's decision.
Definitely a beast on this tune! Loved his musical choices on the kit! 🥁
@@The_Stranger1986 Bruce believed the band should have given more time. Better? I get that Steve ran all band activities, didn't think I needed to be that specific. So sorry.
It is so satisfying to see someone who really know about music reacting to these monsters.
Next check up "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" live at Long Beach Arena.
Really appreciate that! Definitely more Maiden to come on the channel! They are truly masters and can’t wait to hear more!
YES!!!!!!!!! Live After Death forever!!
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Be prepared to be amazed.
So glad you played this version. Bruce Dickinson, AKA The Human Air Raid Siren, was at the top of his game here - obviously. Not saying he's bad in his later years, at all. It's just...the voice is the most difficult instrument to hold on to through the years. Just a fact. Any Maiden is fine with this old cat. This is my generation of music, right here. IDK if you noticed the kid in the audience that looked about 12. 🤣🤣 That's how we rolled. I'm sure he was there with friends and his parents prob had no idea where he was. He was out having the time of his life at a KILLER show!!!
Haha 🤣 I love that! What better time to go see a metal show! 🤘🏻 This was so epic!
@@setonhillstudios This entire show is epic. They put out a double live LP called Live After Death. It's songs pulled from different shows on that tour, (poss this tour, IDK). Killer, killer live album. Some say it's a little too polished back in the studio but it is amazing none the less. Keep rockin, brother. Awesome trip with you and Corey!!
@@snakeinthegrass7443 Appreciate that and the only way we can do it is viewers like you! 🙏🏻 Can’t wait to hear more from Maiden for sure!
Considering Bruce has gone through surgery for throat cancer back in 2015 I think his voice now is still pretty powerful
@@Steve_Gee74 No hate over here. He's still rocking and rolling in my ears.
To answer some of your questions: the drummer was Clive Burr. He left shortly after their album was released because of health issues. Steve Harris, the bassist does indeed do the gallop bass style. Singer’s name is Bruce Dickinson and he is a man of many talents: author, Olympic-level fencer, has sustained a note for as long as 42 seconds, pilot and throat cancer survivor.
Songs to react to: Number of the Beast, Aces High, Rime of the ancient mariner, Fear of the Dark, Dance of Death, Run to the Hills, Powerslave and the Trooper.
Clive Burr was the drummer on the first 3 Maiden albums
16 notes on the hi hat with one hand man !
Clive was such a powerhouse!
Rime of the ancient mariner flight 666 live version ur love it too😊
Appreciate the recommendations!
No, please... I'm tired of that overrated version. What a obsession they have with making Maiden songs react with post-2000 concerts where they are already "old". Leave me Rime Of The Ancient Mariner with the Live After Death version or the Rock In Rio version, both from 1985. I'm tired of the overrated Flight 666.
Please do the Flight 666 recording. You'll get some long standing fans like myself want the Life after death version, which, rightly so, is considered one of the greatest metal concerts of all time. However, the recording quality compared to Flight 666 isn't as good; the band are half way through a 14 month tour when they filmed Life after Death, and Bruce's voice is showing this (though still amazing). Flight 666 also has the current 6-man line up, which I believe to be the best version of Maiden. Each to their own, of course, I don't mean to offend any Blood Brothers (another good song to react to). Up the Irons!
@@IMMeredith
yep 100% agree, flight 666 is easily the better version for those exact reasons especially the sound quality.
Maiden was part of the NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This song is from the first album singer Bruce Dickinson recorded with them (1982) Number of the Beast. He replaced Paul Di’Anno the year before.
The drummer here is Clive Burr. He left the band after this album and was replaced by Nicko McBrain who remains their drummer to this day.
The clicking noise you’re hearing is Steve Harris, band founder and bassist. He is notorious for hitting the strings hard and creating the click. He is also known for his “galloping” bass sound.
I was lucky enough to see them in 1988…..so amazing
Thanks so much for the info and so cool that you got to see them live! I bet they rocked it out! 🤘🏻
@@setonhillstudios They were absolutely awesome! 🤘🏻

Titled Iron Maiden and killers
One of my favourite song. Bassist Steve Harris founder & main song writer of this band. He is world's no. 1 heavy metal bassist. (Just google it you'll get your answer). Bruce Dickinson is second vocalist of this band since 1981. He is multi-talented guy. You can read his & also this band's biography. Btw in this song first solo played by Dave Murray & second Adrian Smith. Drummer - Clive Burr. (He was member from 1979 to 1982) Died on 2013. 💔 From 1983 to present Nicko McBrain is drummer. In 1990 guitarist Janick Gers joined this band. He initially joined to replace Adrian Smith but remained in the band even after Smith rejoined in 1999. From then they have 3 guitarist. Their first vocalist was Paul Di'anno (1978 to 1981) & Blaze Bayley was also lead vocalist of this band during Bruce's absence from 1994 to 1999. Dennis Stratton was guitarist from 1979 to 1980). Dave Murray is old member of this band. (Joined in 1976). The amazing fact is still they play live & no doubt Iron Maiden is one of the greatest & best live heavy metal band in the world. Every members are very very talented & energetic. Try to react on more maiden song. Up The Irons From India. 🇮🇳❤️😇🔥🤘🏻
Love Maiden❤. Bring more. Thx. 😊
More to come for sure! Thanks for watching!
All you need to know about Iron Maiden is to always "Up the IRONS!". Welcome to the MAIDEN family 🤘🤘
Still going today, touring again.
Rime of the ancient mariner, dance of death, the parchment, the trooper, nomad, the talisman, if eternity should fail, sign of the cross (2000 live version), the clansman (2000 live), Fear of the dark, phantom of the opera, Alexander the Great, wrath child, seventh son of a seventh son, revelations, mother Russia.
I think that’s a song from each of their albums, excluding number of the beast as you’ve listened to hallowed be thy name.
Goosebumps every time!!!!
Yes , to sing it or i only play the bassline
MAIDEN is my drop. Seen em in VA in 87, goin back to see em again thus November in NC. Nice reaction🤘 ☠️☘️🇺🇲

This is one of my favourite Maiden songs for sure along with Moonchild, Seventh son of a seventh son and Two minutes to midnight. All incredible songs !!!!!
That first solo, Dave Murray, you should listen to in on their album song. goosebumps all over.
Rime of the ancient mariner you gotta check that out

That’s awesome!
It's not Nicko it's the late Clive Burr (died in 2013 because of a shitty disease called Multiple sclerosis ). Nicko joined the band for the next album called "Piece of mind". This song is from the 3rd one called "the number of the beast" released in 82. The singer's name is Bruce "the air raid siren" Dickinson. A singer, novel writer, fencer and plane pilot. He also released some great albums under his own name (He left Maiden between 93 and 99). Check his work... he is not far from being a genius. ** I'm sure somebody already said that in the comments. Anyways, I like your channel and I'm posting this com' to support you and your quality videos. Thanks for your reaction dude. Keep on rockin' .
As an 56 years old Metalhead like me and still long hair like Bruce is that normal Music the Song is from 1982 and is 2024 still in the Liveset of Maiden , all Member of Maiden are order than 65 years
One of my favorite concerts was seeing Iron Maiden with Dream Theater opening for them! :-D Amazing show!
Oh man, I bet that was incredible!
Greatest band of all times, everybody knows their name, a few know their music. So, most underrated band of all times.
Just listen to random songs of theirs. Chance that its a great song is 60-70%.
Can’t wait to dig into their catalogue! Killer musicians! 🤘🏻
“Underrated”?! Whatever! The biggest for me, no joke or bs!
@@osamaqtaitat You probably need to read the definition of the word "underrated"...
On this version the drummer is Clive Burr!
But you must listen the same song live played by Nicko McBrain!
First-time listener. Excellent reaction. Yes, they do indeed bring it like that every time! I was born in 1971, but sadly never saw Iron Maiden live. The later 80's and 90's were different...saw many then. Keep up the good work...with Maiden you can't go wrong. So many English metal bands from that era that crushed it.
Thanks so much and we are glad to have you! This blew me away and I can already tell I only scratched the surface! More Maiden to come and thanks for hanging out!
@@setonhillstudios NP. Just saw your reaction to Pneuma with Danny at the helm at subscribed. What another excellent band. At 2:45 The hand jester that Bruce Dickinson did was to turn up his mic in his ear so he could hear what the band were playing and his spots to singing . Great job with reaction to how Hallowed Be thy Name from Iron Maiden.
Oh cool! Gotta go back and watch that again. Thanks for hanging out and more Maiden to come on the channel for sure!
@@setonhillstudios Your welcome .
*gesture
I actually think he wants to be a bit louder in the monitor mix (the wedges at the front of the stage). Back in 1982 the in-ears would have been in their infancy and out of reach for a still up-and-coming band like Iron Maiden (that would soon change, of course). In fact, as far as I know Bruce is still not using in-ears in 2024.
Aces High, The Trooper, Revelations, Rime of the Ancient Mariner flight 666, Dance of Death En Vivo. That's just a few to get you started.
Thanks for the recommendations and hanging out! 🤘🏻
The drummer here is Clive Burr, Iron Maiden's first drummer. He left the band right after this album due to the beginning of a serious health issue.
The singer is mr. Bruce Dickinson, nicknamed "the human air raid siren", and he's still their lead singer to this day (they are still active btw).
I Highly suggest you check the "Rime of the ancient Mariner" song from Flight 666 (live performance as well), it's 25 years after this one and they were still dope. And while this one showcases the strength and style of Clive Burr, Rime imo showcases the strength and style of Nicko McBrain.
Thanks for the info and suggestion!
Clive Burr on the drums, Bruce Dickinson on vocals, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith on guitars and the bands founder, Steve Harris on bass. This is the classic lineup of Iron Maiden, however their first two LP's with Paul DiAnno on vocals are also well worth a listen.
Paul had a VERY different style to Bruce, but hearing him sing Killers or Murders in the rue morgue are ABSOLUTELY worth a listen IMHO, Paul had more of a rock quality to his vocals whereas Bruce is more on the metal side. The only time I did not love maiden is when Blaze Bailey stepped in as vocalist. It was the right sound, but with the wrong voice. Don't get me wrong, Blaze was a great singer, he was just not Maiden's singer.
@@sutekh233 Totally agree about the Blaze Bailey era. I didn't like it either. Good singer, but not for Maiden.
When I think of Paul's singing, I think Strange World and Remember Tomorrow are really good examples.
@@markwilliams6394 Paul was an EXCELLENT singer, Bruce is an OUTSTANDING singer. Neither Paul nor Blaze had the charisma 18 that Bruce has (sorry, letting my D&D geek out). Both are good, hearing Bruce belt out all of Number of the Beast, Powerslave, seventh son..........
That's storytelling magic!!
Live after Death will ALWAYS be my fave album, still have it on vynal.
@sutekh233 All I said were those were great examples of Paul's singing. I guess both can't be good singers?
Clive burr rock in peace brother 💔
They have a bunch of good high energy tracks. Aces High, The Trooper, Wasted Years, Run To the Hills, Fear of the Dark, And Rime of the Ancient Mariner are the most famous in their catalog.
Thanks for the suggestions!
The original rock history lesson band🤘when you see them perform to 250,000 in India, Chile, the atmosphere is pure adrenaline, when you can hold that many English second /third language people in the palm of your hand - if you want "Gallop" beat, you've gotta listen to "the Trooper"
I bet that’s awesome!
They had 2 guitar players... until Bruce and Adrian rejoined Maiden in 2001, so for 23 years already they have 3 guitar players.
Oh wow, that’s awesome!
@@setonhillstudios Adrian Smith left around 87, after Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Bruce left after Fear of the Dark tour, which was in 92/93. After some 8 years away, and two Maiden albums (X Factor and Virtual XI), both not much fan favorites, Bruce AND Adrian returned. But Blaze Bayley, the other vocalist had left. All the while, Janick Gers, who replaced Adrian starting with the No Prayer for the Dying album, remained.

I just went to Dark Lyrics to make sure I would hear them all correctly. Whenever I hear a Maiden song with which I'm not entirely familiar, I go check out the lyrics. It's quite amazing what important stuff is hidden in them, that a lot of people never really "see" (as seeing with the ears of the spirit, rather than seeing through your physical eyes) (and, yes...those were the words I meant to use).
I just stopped at 9:29, to check something out. I wanted to see if you guys have reacted to Dan Vasc's version of "The Number of the Beast." You haven't. So I'm thinking that was for a reason. First of all, you should definitely go and read THESE lyrics carefully. Then you should go and read the lyrics carefully, for "The Number..." and then you might want to check out the lyrics, carefully, for "Two Minutes to Midnight," and then watch both Maiden's versions and Dan's versions of both. There are reasons for all of that.
I'm not saying you'd need to react, though you might want to (it wouldn't have to be "first time hearing," etc.).
Also (on a different "note") Corey and I recently were talking (on Patreon) about whether it's better to have in-ears and a click-track, or just sing and play the way we oldsters USED to do. Having either of those for THIS song (and others like it), would (to my way of thinking) be a detriment...not a help. Part of that is because the members of bands like this and many others, knew each OTHER well enough to KEEP up and do what was necessary to MATCH up. Personally, I can't use in-ears, for a number of physical reasons, and a click-track would drive me NUTS!
When I was learning to play and sing, we were taught to use our INNER rhythms, and when we played and/or sang in bands and/or choirs, we practiced, practiced, practiced, until we knew each other inside-and-out, musically-speaking. All the way through school (until about halfway through my Jr. Year in high school), we had an AMAZING music teacher, who made sure that we understood about things like that. Plus we had my MOM! OH, YEAH! 😀Between the two of them (along with a few more wonderfully-trained and talented musicians who also lived in Old Valdez), basically every youngster in town learned those lessons well. There were plenty of reasons why our very SMALL bands and choirs won WAY more State Honor Band and State Honor Choir medals than any other town in Alaska, back then!!! Seriously! 🥰
Yea we haven’t checked that one out, probably will down the line though! I think you’re right about the in ears for this one, may not be a help at all! That’s awesome you guys won all those! Thanks as always Linda!
Please react to "Dance of Death" live, you´ll won´t regret it. Outstanding musicians and tale/song lyrics.

For me, the difference between Clive Burr and Nicko McBrain is that Clive had a raw, powerful and faster beat sound, while Nicko has a more refined sound. Two of the best powerhouses any band could have. Have a listen to Life After Death, and you will find this same song. Not as fast beat as this version, but more refined. Every single song (in my very humble opinion) is gold. Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Revelations, Children of the Damned, 22 Acacia Avenue, Phantom of the Opera are absolutely bangers. Also, I thought I was subscribed already, but I obviously forgot about it, so I do it now.
