The most interesting thing I got out of this video was the fact that monsters might not be made of magic in Deltarune. Cause we have absolutely no confirmation as such, and nothing about turning to dust, souls etc. Which just got my mind going in directions that are wild as hell.

Susie implied that magic doesn't exist in the Light World after GIGA Queen's Battle, so I think it's safe to assume that all monsters are organic beings in Deltarune, or at least not as magical as they were in Undertale.
I mean, yeah that makes sense. I hate how little we have of lore so we basically have to make assumptions and hope it’s true. Maybe the reason Toby does this is to make us get invested more, and also make us create stories using our own theories to make him be like “Ooh, that’s cool. Yeah, I’ll make it like that.” Because people drew Chara with red eyes and he was like “Kris needs to have red eyes now.”
I feel like there definitely has to be something weird going on with monsters for them to have fire elementals and skeletons and ghosts walking around, even though spellcasting seems to be unknown in the Light World.
@@TotalWhackjob I think that all the monsters in Undertale act sort of like ghosts in a weird way, they don’t have blood, when they die they turn to dust, it’s really weird. My theory is that Ghosts in the undertale universe are just monsters that have special properties, maybe in the deltarune universe they have all of their powers took away in exchange for being physically stronger. I think the fire elementals also are sort of like this as well, except that they are just more physical with their abilities and stuff. I can see skeletons being normal because of the sheer amount of variety within the monster communities. Or maybe they look like fire and ghosts but that’s just the way they look, but they aren’t actually those things. IDK

I think pink and yellow is just the color motif of the secret bosses; a lot of people seem to forget this, but Jevil's eyes occasionally flashed yellow. Therefore, I think it's safe to say that FRIEND will be a secret boss in a later chapter.
I dunno if I'd call it "safe to say." Yellow and purple eyes like that specifically would be a weird thing to see again. It'd be reusing a rather unique visual motif with no real twist on it.
I always just thought "FRIEND" was a largely loreless easter egg based on the Cheshire cat. But everyone's out here saying it has to be Mike for whatever reason.

That feels like a bit of a stretch. Spamton is mostly black and white. Jevil is predominantly purple. I don't think coincidentally containing a couple overlapping colors proves anything for certain.
and even if they were to be the next secret boss, it wouldn't be Mike. Just as Jevil foreshadowed Queen, Spamton foreshadowed Mike.

I think it should be noted that even in the world of Undertale monsters do seem to have some traits that are similar to the biology of certain organic species. We can see this in the released alarm clock dialogue which talks about catty eating, presumably, non-magic oranges and getting sick since cats can’t eat oranges, and to a lesser extent when the mouth monster at Grillby’s talks about trying out human food on the surface, and then having to use the bathroom, implying that they have a digestive system. Also, I think it could be possible that the “friend” barriers may have been initially intended for the Spamton Neo fight since it takes place on a roller coaster too.

But it's also said that they have less physical mass and primarily function with the use of magic. Magic is why they can still stay alive, and it makes sense that eating "Monster Food" would increase total overall health like green healing magic if that food is saturated with magic. Why the food itself is saturated with magic is likely because of the core. Which also makes sense in story why the further into the game's map you get the more potent the effect is, excluding the pie that Toriel makes us. The closer to the core, the better the healing item.
Yes, the Spamton Neo explanation is more plausible, considering that it would put both instances of the face in the Basement.
also, another biological process is when alphys sweats, which is more likely a visual thing, but ill still point it out as it always struck me as weird

I've seen lots of people talk about the implications of the drugs but I've never seen anybody discuss why they were removed and how seriously they should be taken as part of the canon
I'm thinking their ambiguity was why they were removed, toby clearly put them there for a reason and then realised it would be hard to communicate his exact intent with like 6 pixels. That's if they're even lore relevant, could have just been some dumb drug based Christmas or deer pun that was cut.

Are they really drugs though? Those pill boxes have strange round protrusions at the top. Even I originally assumed them to be flower vases, or something.

It's possible that IMAGE_FRIEND is the literal puppet-master of Spamton, hence the resemblance. I still think there's a higher boss at the top of it all though.

The pink and yellow eyes might be why Spamton has Pink and Yellow Glasses. He wanted to copy Mikes look.
All tho perhaps the face is whoever was on Phone with Spamton. Since whoever was on the phone was spamtons 'friend' in a way in helping him get to the top.
Tho Phone making garbage noise after spamtons call could debunk it being the 'friend' if it was Gaster who was on the Phone tho then again mayby 'friend' is Gaster tho capitalized Letters to me whould suggest 'friend' is atleast connected to Gaster in one way or other.
I find it amusing that you call the intro entity that everyone thinks is Gaster "Mystery Man" because that's the in-game name of the sprite that everyone also thinks is Gaster

In regards to Discovery 3, it's worth noting that chapter 2 has exponentially more cut content then chapter 1, including several rooms with little difference (Tetra bit gaming did a great video on this), and chapter 2 also just so happens to be the first time Toby Fox worked with a _dedicated team_in a _leading role_ to make a project. He's had a few artists donate sprites to him in the past, and he's contributed some music to Homestuck, but this is the first time he had to manage a bunch of people each making a bunch of adsets for one game, and he probably had people help with the coding and animation too, so not every bit of content is necessarily something Toby intended to be in the game.
This also goes for the bleeding Suesie Sprite. It's quite possible that someone made the sprite, put it in the game, but then Toby Fox ask to replace it because it didn't fit his vision of the game.

That's a nice call. Though one would argue that the friend with creepy smile could be related to REDACTED (specially after what Bread dug recently), it really fits. But also, Kris/Chara were also implied to have creepy smiles at several points, even to the point of other characters teasing them to make those smiles. Oh well, that Chapter 3 can't come fast enough!

If you remember, in the Spamton Sweepstakes if you go to the "reward" thing and go to the chair of "But what if it could ... get darker than dark" and click too many times, those eyes (or maybe Spamton's I don't remember bc FRIEND has the reversed colors of Spamton in the eyes) appears for a brief second while playing a short sound of maybe laughter and then quickly puts you back in the Sweepstakes web. Just wanted to say that.

Nightmare fuel when I got it on my first click despite totally expecting it
keep in mind, when a part of a game is cut, that is because it was decided against (or, in a game like Undertale or Deltarune, it would be included specifically for data miners, and you can almost always tell what’s what (OR if there is cut content repurposed as something goner code reminiscent eg. Redacted, half-bread chaos made a really in depth video about that recently, I recommend checking them out if you love needlessly deep dives into DR/UT lore!)). In this case, I feel the scrapped pill bottles were meant to represent her looking up how to heal her father as she’s already expressed how she wants some miracle product to make her dad better. The reason I see it as scrapped is that A) we already know Noelle is wanting to cure her father and B) as this video shows, there are too many implications and connotations of including pills belonging to a character. People would assume it to be for a darker story, which wouldn’t be able to be refuted by flavour text in a way that was natural (the best I thought for flavour text of these bottles would be “It’s a collection of pills for reindeers. It says, ‘quick and easy cure alls!’”, though that’s still kind of vague and suggests it is similar to a pop-up Noelle would click by accident).
Either way, I just thing that, tonally, including the pills (no matter what interpretation you give) is too tonally dissonant with the more vaguely whimsical yet somber feeling of the room as pills have too real a connotation and wouldn’t fit sitting right next to Noelle. Imagine seeing the Susie and Noelle cutscene before you could investigate the room and understand better what the pills are for and just be asking yourself in a frenzy “why does Noelle have drugs??”. You’d lose the focus in the scene itself, which would suck for a first playthrough.
The issue is that it wasn't "cut." It was left in the code. This isn't like other franchises. We're expected to look in there. As such, if Toby really wanted to "cut" something, he'd take it out entirely.
JaruJaruJ Regardless of whether Toby intended for us to theory-craft with the fact that an unused version of Noelle's room has pills in it, the rest of their message still applies. If there was canonically a bottle of pills in Noelle's room in Chapter 2's events, it would definitely damage the tone and impact of the room as the player will immediately notice them and say "Wait, are those pills? What are they for? Why are they in Noelle's room? Did she search for medicine? What kind?" When we're just about to have a much more important bonding scene between her and Susie.
I like to think Toby does indeed leave these unused assets behind in the code, but merely to give a glimpse into his sketchbook; a look at what things could have been, little things that he cut or changed. I like the idea of Noelle being transgender, but maybe Toby Fox is waiting for a better opportunity to reveal that nugget of information and make it relevant. After all, as pointed out, a bottle of pills being present in a room that was crafted from someone's search history could mean *anything.*
I think they (Monsters) are a minority since there isn’t many monster tailored products. For example Toriel is using a Pet Shampoo bottle in the bathroom, while there is a regular shampoo bottle for Kris.
Human culture has ALWAYS been the predominant one even in Undertale, the trash dump is filled with human technology (Alphys, the Royal Scientist undoubtedly took inspiration from it), most of the architecture seems human, note the pillars in the ruins and Judgement Hall. Also the igloo in Snowdin, the celebration of Christmas, hell even their food, it's all originally from humans.
Even when they're a majority, I doubt it'd be easy to make all-purpose shampoo for all monsters, no need to make shampoo for fluffy monsters when you've got pet shampoo, scaled monsters just need regular shampoo since they've got human-like hair(Susie and Alvin) or no hair(Dad dragon from the diner)
Monsters are similar enough to humans to the point the only tailored products needed are medication. It's still likely for monsters to be a majority.

Re: the chapter titles and thumbnails, there's actually a good explanation for why the unused chapters are in all caps and 1-7 are lowercased. If the chapters were indeed pre-generated automatically, which is strongly evidenced by there being a Ch. 0 (since all code uses zero-based indexing unless manually changed beforehand), they could easily have _all_ been generated in all caps, and then only Ch1-7 were formatted with a toLower function bc they're the ones in use
Its just odd because Toby is very, very aware of us finding unused content. Especially when he doesn't really do anything to hide it (or apparently, just remove it). Like he left actual notes to people in files in Undertale in the demo, release, and even updated them later.
I'm sure he could just not care and feel like cleaning up after himself with unused content, but I feel its way more likely he knew exactly what he was doing when leaving these files in.
Maybe the extra chapters are for different routes, where you may even go into different dark worlds 👀

Speaking of monster drugs. I present my ultimate UTDR theory. In UT, Alphys provided ghost gender affirmation surgery and long ago Gaster provided magic monster HRT. In DR he's now gathering up lackeys to help him provide care once more. This shall all be revealed in Chapter 10. How do I know this? Toby threw an estro-brick at my window. As I looked through the hole where my window once was, the dog blinked the entire story of DR in morse code at me.

Yeah I think it’s a lot of fun! I personally don’t find unused assets and files to be canon, however, I do think that they can be useful to get an idea of the creator’s intentions and help people craft theories based on that.
In the case of a game that is still in progress (like Deltarune) I think it can be great for making predictions about the future of the game because something that was once unused could be repurposed later on.
Regardless, it’s all just pretty nifty.

I've heard people say that video game secrets/mysteries have lost their allure with the advent of datamining, but to me, it's opened the door for new kinds of discussions. Such as the meaning behind the voice in Deltarune's code, or how certain text or sprites would've been used, and other things people have mentioned in this thread. Not to mention how it can be fodder for theory crafting too
@@mrblakeboy1420 you make a fair point! I think, in this instance, that was an intentional thing for dataminers to see, however, Im not sure how it’s going to end up tying into the story.
And while I do think certain things in the code are intentional (like the goner code), I’d be wary of thinking that every single thing left within the code is completely intentional. He’s human too, he might have just left some stuff in by accident or any other number of circumstances.
Came for the explanation of why the thumbnail is accusing Noelle of being drugs, stayed for the depressing explanation of how the pharmaceutical industry is motivated primarily by profit and will not cater for niche illnesses if it does not have a large enough market
Also, I think the idea of The Friend / The Cheshire Cat being some kind of associate, spy, contractor or otherwise satelite of The Mystery Man is quite an interesting idea, I guess I always just thought of it as being the man himself
Also also, when you mentioned certain drugs that may be invoked due to Deltarune being a Toby Fox game, funnily enough Spironolactone is also used as treatment for high blood pressure, so who knows maybe Noelle is using her blood meds for multiple purposes

Typing this as I'm watching the video, figured I'd mention my thoughts on these discoveries. - For the new barrier with the smile, I interpret as Spamton-based as opposed to Queen-based. Because you encounter the same coaster mechanic in both Cyber World and the Spamton fight, so if the Queen barriers were in an old coaster design, it would be reasonable to have the same in the Spamton fight for the coaster setting. The face itself is debatable due to when it shows up (and may even be a hallucination), but it seems far simpler to consider it a remnant of an old coaster mechanic.
- With the chapter numbers, I understand the need for more spaces in case he grows the amount of them, since it already jumped form 5 to 7 assuming Toby wasn't hiding the extra 2 from the beginning. Either way, I agree with the idea of Toby setting up breathing room in case he decides to have 10 chapters.
- As for the pills, I'm cautious to buy into it, but assuming that is true, the implications, as boring or interesting as they can be, do make sense within a set of reasoning.
That's my thought too, it somewhat suggests the face is just meant to represent spamton. There are alternative possibilities though.
To be clear, we *never* knew how many chapters there were going to be, and we still don't truly know now. The assumption that there were going to be 5 was from my understanding purely based on the conventions of episodic videogames. Right now we are assuming there will be seven because that's how many show up on main menu. Unless I missed something, Toby Fox has never explicitly stated how many chapters there are going to be.

We probably shouldn't forget that it's Queen who made Noelle's room. While it does mean Noelle was trying to look up medication at some point, we have no way to verify that it'd actually *work* on her. Queen is already prone to making very silly mistakes in all the rooms she creates, so it's plausible that she could have tossed in some random medication meant for humans, and/or an entirely different condition than what Noelle was looking for.

IMAGE_FRIEND could be some kind of abstract entity that exists in the layer of reality below Dark Worlds, which we've briefly seen hints of in the Spamton Sweepstakes. An entity that is, according to the Mystery Man's description, friendly or intended to be a companion of some kind for the player and/or the Delta Warriors. Perhaps its strange appearance inspired Spamton's appearance in some way; even if there's no plausible way for Spamton and IMAGE_FRIEND to be the same character (by the time you can encounter the face, Spamton is stuck in the Disk, so him making any sort of appearance seems kind of strange?), maybe at some point they met, intentionally or by accident?
Whatever the case may be, I feel that the answers to the nature of IMAGE_FRIEND will be found in Chapters 3-5.
Speaking of Chapters, the fact that the Chapter text found in the files is in all caps, while the in-game Chapter markers are properly cased seems odd to me. Could this be for something later on? Does the story get hijacked, maybe, and we briefly get a glimpse of a different Chapter selection screen? Someone else's, maybe...? ... Ralsei's? That's a complete shot in the dark, but it'd definitely be something, wouldn't it?
Finally, the pills in an unused variant of Noelle's room marks (I believe?) the second time that we've gotten unused Chapter 2 stuff that heavily implies that monsters have physical bodies. The other one being the unused sprite of Susie bleeding from her hand, as many people here probably know. It's very interesting; was this chapter meant to have more hints as to the properties of monster bodies that were cut for pacing reasons? Maybe Toby felt like Rudy's condition and the presence of the hospital in general did enough to clarify this aspect of monsterkind, or maybe he felt that hints like this were going to be dropped too early? Maybe we'll see stuff like this pop up in later chapters. I'd definitely expect this sort of thing to get focus in, say, a chapter that happens within a Dark World created in the hospital.

Maybe having a pink eye and a yellow eye (or lense) is somehow useful for seeing in that outer layer. Maybe pink eyes are what see outside but if you only have pink eyes, you can't see anything in the normal layer & that's why Ralsei needs his glasses & why his eyes don't look pink when they're on.
Maybe that's why Ralsei is able to casually cross over into that layer in that one scene after the Spamton Neo fight. Maybe having *two* pink eyes has something to do with his ability to travel across dark worlds & to know enough about what's happening in another dark world to even know he needs to be there in the first place.
When I saw the pills I thought of sleeping pills more than medication, and since we know (to a certain extent) thay Noelle us scared of a potentially real ICE-E it may just be from a search she would have made late at night like "What to do when can't sleep"
Noelle taking HRT could make sense, too, if we compare her antlers to Rudy's. They're similar in shape and size, but a female reindeer's horns are usually half the size of a male reindeer's! Ofc, we could interpret that as either her or Rudy being trans. We'd have to see the Mayor's or Dess's design before we could be sure though, and I get the feeling we wont be seeing them so soon 😅
There's also the matter that Noelle looks nothing like a reindeer and moreso resembles a white-tailed deer, whose female members never have horns!

Assuming those really are medication bottles and that they're specifically for Noelle, maybe Toby decided to cut them out because he didn't find it appropriate to reveal such information about Noelle in her room in queen's mansion? I can see us in the future being able to explore Noelle's house and finding them in the bathroom or her room
I actually think that the little barrier sprite with freind on it confirms that it’s supposed to represent Spamton. Also in the files along with the Q barrier is a sprite of Queen in a coaster car, implying at some point in development there was supposed to be a Queen coaster fight (perhaps it was replaced with the Berdly one?). Meaning those barriers where a scrapped mechanic for that fight. And so it would make senesce that this mechanic if it had gotten in would also be used for the OTHER major coaster based fight in the game. The friend barriers are a scrapped part of the Spamton neo fight, it’s supposed to be Spamton’s face.
I’m a firm believe in “Friend” just being Spamton. Spamton is shown to be very glitchy especially around his facial area, so I don’t think its too much of a stretch to think that his disembodied face would be following us around while we take the loaded disc to the robot body. I mean he still has some control while in that form, the Disc does smile and squirm in our hand. More importantly I just can’t see Toby making a separate character with the EXACT same iconic feature that Spamton has, especially since we know why he has said feature ( His weird glasses are supposed to be bootleg versions of the one Swatch wears). I thinks it’s just a creepy little Easter egg, not some big lore point. But I guess I’m in the minority for thinking this, Considering how much Mike/ Tenna Art their is that uses friend as a base line.

Throughout Undertale, we meet the Goners and Followers. Completely greyscale NPCs who tell Gaster's tale of being shattered across space...
...But they themselves aren't... Well, themselves. All of them mimic the appearence of other NPCs throughout Undertale, and one even mimicing a Deltarune NPC, though they never get the details quite right.
Futhermore, one even claims to be "holding" a piece of Gaster... But the item in the NPC's hand is the one doing the speaking.
We also have never "seen" Gaster, or at least, not something we can say is definitely him. The MysteryMan could just be another Goner or Follower, for an NPC or character we just haven't met.
So here's the shot in the dark:
Perhaps Gaster cannot appear as "himself", only mimic the appearance of others, just like those who speak of him. Perhaps being shattered across space-time also shattered his own identity.
And IMAGE_FRIEND was his way of getting a real glimpse of you, or of Kris. Or perhaps to prepare for a more direct meeting...

5:00 i would like to give an counterargument to this because sometimes removing unused content from the game files can mess up the code, causing more problems as you arent sure what it might be connected to. So Toby might have left it in just so it doesnt break the game due to unknown connections to other files, rather then for the community to discuss.

even though the pills being for rudy is the most obvious conclusion, toby’s been more willing to put queer characters in his games recently, and they are still on her nightstand. plus, her antlers look the same as rudy’s, which doesn’t happen with reindeer in real life unless they’re the same gender.

I didnt know about the pills details. Man this game has so much to it. I can see why toby got rid of them tho. For games specifically. Drugs in any form are a hassel for esrb ratings. He could have risked a higher rating on those pills alone. Its so weird. You can kill and hurt things, but the moment drugs or sex is involved. People lose their minds

That observation aside I assume the medication does probably relate to Rudy but probably was deemed an unnecessary detail because like no shit Noell is worried about her dad, that's not a thing we needed spelled out to us!

I think it's already been pretty heavily implied that monsters have physical, organic bodies in Deltarune already, because it's apparent they can have Determination in this universe.
It could always just be that the Determination used to make dark fountains is the real world personality trait, willpower to achieve a goal, and isn't the same as Undertale DT determination, which is an explicitly magical substance
@@FlamingLily I feel like the "reveal" by Queen is an explicit statement that Determination is the same as Undertale's. Before that, it's referred to as a "certain power." I don't think the nature of Determination would change between universes, only the vessels it inhabits. Because I am pretty sure both universes are interconnected via Gaster's experimentation into harnessing Determination, I think it's a universal constant.

And sure, it doesn't directly mention Determination, but it does talk about the power of certain things shining within you. Then when you reach Queen, the save point before her fight says "You are filled with a certain power." That HAS to be Determination. They're obfuscated for that reveal by Queen that it is in fact Determination they are referencing.
I'll admit it's odd that only Kris can see save points if monsters are capable of having Determination, so there is a possibility that Determination is different in this universe, or it could be that we are learning new things about it, considering Kris is also the only one that can close fountains for some reason.

Those things may look like pill bottles, but the art is so pixelated that they could be almost anything in the same ballpark of shape and size.

I feel like the fact that theres a Q for Queen's barricade and one for the mystery Friend because those are where the roller coasters show up in game. The Berdly fight which is on Queen's roller coaster, and Spamton Neo's fight. I guess it could be in relation to the Mystery Entity/ Gaster but also the fact that Spamton had the exact same colors (wrong order) of glasses that these special sprites have seems pretty dubious.
could have been a case of really rare chance of the mystery friend replaces the queen one before he decided to put the Easter egg/potential foreshadowing in the basement. Wondering if there's any left over code to support this.

those drug sprites are so low quality it's possible they could've been intended to be something entirely unrelated but Toby changed it because a playtester made this same interpretation.

Not entirely sure on the whole pills thing. While it could imply that monsters have a larger population, at the same time it is heavily implied that Toriel uses pet shampoo, given the bottle that can be found in the shower. I'd find it weird if in the world of Deltarune, pharmacies were creating monster pills, but there isn't a monster shampoo.
Counterpoint: Not all monsters have fur, whereas all monsters need medical care. As such, the market for shampoo will always be smaller than the market for drugs. If the monsters are a DECENTLY large minority, but not HUGE, then they could be straddling the line between the two industries thanks to less than 100% of monsters needing large quantities of shampoo. Alternatively, it could be that there ARE shampoos for monsters, but Toriel in particular just uses pet shampoo because it's easier to buy in bulk. There's a lot of subtleties here that could result in a number of different world-building connotations depending on how Toby Fox develops the narrative moving forward.

IMAGE/DEVICE_FRIEND is realllly a unique character to me and yet we almost know nothing about the guy lol. him having similar traits like the Cheshire Cat just adds more interest and mystery to him (and could add insight on how he will act/behave.)

Spamton’s fight is on a coaster and birdleys fight is on a coaster. The two barricade images are likely from an unused mechanic for those kinds of fights, and most likely is just meant to represent spamton

Just adding a few things of note
1. The barricade can be readded in game using a mode for the berdly battle (specifically the berdly battle as far as i know the spamton boss dosent have this) and the freind barricade can be encountered on a 1 in 200 chance.
2. Not related to anything in the video, but a cool tid bit nonetheless, in the genocide route more then half of the mansion is cut out, and if you were to return to those rooms via hacking they are exactly the same besides one, theres a door in the room with the wheeled pipis, in the normal route its a room with dish ufos, if you activate them all you get an item. But of you were to hack into that room while on genocide, its a wire puzzle instead (like the one at the begining and end of the chapter) with no item at all
for the pill thing, an idea you didnt talk about one possibility: a queen missunderstanding (like the piano tutorial being 2 toriels playing piano), being used as a joke. I am not exactly sure of the pun that this could be, i dont think i speak english well enough for that, but there is a chance for noelle to have typed anything like "something pills" and it ended up being medication pills. That would explain why it was removed from the game, toby considered this room to be slightly too serious to have this one pun be here for no more reason. Another possibility that you didnt explore is that noelle was researching an arg of some sort including pills (like a horror movie with a psycopath taking pills or something like that, after all we know from the sweepstakes that noelle loves watching horror stuff)
It is shown that monsters do have doctors and scientists so its possible that monsters no matter their population size would make medicine for monsters. Also in undertale monster food was magical in nature to coincide with their magic based bodies, their medicine could work the exact same way. Just some possible explanations to those points I thought up, loved the video!
Hey Jaru! Did you know that in Yume Nikki there is a character named "Isee" which is a pair of eyes who kind of follow you in the bg? Now Ice-E sounds a lot like Isee to me, maybe there's some inspiration involved there.
Maybe that's too farfetched though 😅 But it would be crazy if IMAGE_FRIEND is actually Ice-E forshadowing xD

Hey Jaru! Popping back in just to suggest you react to the Angel’s Hell theory! It predicts how the normal route and weird route will eventually converge into one route with one ending, and predicts Gaster’s role, as well as the role of Dess!
i VERY faintly remember there being 10 chapters listed when the game first came out, but i cannot remember if toby said it or if it was in the actual game or what, before it changed to 7. i dont believe the icons help though, as if you look at the names it lists them from 0-10, with 0 having chapter 1's icon, likely just showing how computers start lists at 0 and it generated up to 10, just like how the names were generated. great video though! i always enjoy seeing new discoveries, the barriers certainly caught my attention :)
The face is a combination of jevilsknife & spamtons glasses was my theory, in later chapters this thing keeps coming back with a stronger appearance. I mean in undertale, who was the single character that had already been to everywhere the player had? Even the secret lab? Flowey, its definitely flowey...
I always thought that secret bosses could have a tie with yellow--specifically with eyes. Jevil & Spamton both have yellow eyes (and people forget but, so does Sans). I wonder if it's something to tie with the soul color. Maybe they have a twisted sense of justice? Or maybe being hard to get to/fight is signified by yellow eyes? I'd love to here y'all's opinions. I might make a video out of this.
