Pretty sure **candodge** is a variable that gets set to true whenever the party warns the enemies to dodge Susie's attacks. About the second Lancer fight, pretty sure it's just for plot reasons so Susie couldn't "kill" him until the cutscene finishes.
Maybe in the first Lancer fight, we are depleting his bike HP, not his, the same way Queen says we have been depleting her chair HP, that's why he has less HP in the first fight.
The Susie saying "Wake up" reminds me of the Game Over screen in chapter 2, where Susie and Ralsei tell Kris to wake up. Maybe the game gets reset to the beginning of chapter 1 when a soul chooses to give up during the game over?
seems to be that way! in a tumblr post, someone showed that unused dialogue and theorized when one "dies", the timeline is reset and they begin at chapter 1 again. they were talking about berdly possibly not being dead in the snowgrave route, because what happens in the dark world is only assumed into reality. what i mean is, by the end of a neutral route in ch 2, birdlys arm gets fried, and he wakes up with it not moving. this is because he perceived it in the dark world, so it happened in reality. following this, if kris/the player were to give up after dying, the voice in the game over screen says the world was covered in darkness. so maybe if kris were to die, they would hear susie saying to get up, and if they dont, well, they just start from the beginning! im not 100% sure in this theory but it holds interesting opportunities :0
I think there are 4 different present timelines playing at the same time, the Pacifist timeline, the Neutral timeline, the Snowgrave timeline and the Soulless timeline. Which means that Kris died so the world was covered in darkness
12:00 The revival thing could also hint that every time you seal a fountain your lv in the dark world goes up, strengthening your soul, and your party. Because even if you get stronger by using violence in chapter 2, you will still be lv 2 untill you seal the fountain.
@@rompevuevitos222 Could be that LV is different in the Dark World vs. the overworld. We've already seen the UI differences and other changes, this may well be another!
About the revival thing: It's almost as if the power/energy of the fountain is being absorbed. The sound effect kinda sounds like something is being sucked up (maybe that's why spamton calls us "little sponge"? The spamton fun pak merch had a heart shaped sponge... Veeery symbolic when u realize the water element of the word "fountain"). And then this power is being distributed to everyone who is considered part of the party, leveling them up one per closed fountain starting from level 1. Maybe Kris has the ultimate goal to strengthen it and, with that, also themselves and their friends for some kind of objective.
I think that’s a very interesting take. The soul absorbing the fountains to make itself stronger makes sense, and Kris creating another one on purpose makes me think that they aren’t completely opposed to having the soul control their body. They DO willingly put the soul back in their body after they’re done doing something without the soul. I think it may be also tied in with Gaster, because he’s the one who brought the soul into the world and gave the player control of it. Perhaps Gaster is using the soul to make himself stronger.
@@MutedAndReported3032 Hmm yeah! I also thought that LV in the dark world will be revealed as yet another stupid acronym to describe this power. Something like... Light Volt or smth idk lel.
The unused "Kris, wake up!" cutscene could be the start of chapter 3, since Kris and Susie are pretty much in the same room after the third fountain has been opened
31:11 Another thing that I realized just now wasn't pointed out, his defense actually continually goes down in this fight, which is why Susie does more and more damage, it's not Susie's attack going up, it's Lancers defense going down :o
The bunker being called "shelter" in the code is quite interesting. Considering it goes underground, it is probably made to withstand the elements in case of something like a heavy storm or a tornado. Now, what is the only instance we have seen something like that happen in the game? Snowgrave, the spell that wreaked havoc and caused Berdly to go into some kind of coma, if it didn't outright kill him. This allows the shelter to be interpreted in two different ways. 1) As support for the Dess theories which state Kris and their friends went into this shelter for protection from a Snowgrave-esque storm, somehow leading to Dess' demise or disappearence 2) In a future chapter, the if the evacuation of the town happens as you proposed, it could be related to Noelle going berserk at some point and Snowgraving the town, possibly if her father dies Regarding your new upload plans, I think this change is good. While your longer videos allow for more elaborated and extensive argumentation, their multi-hour length makes watching them less appealing to audiences not yet familiar with your content and those without much free time. Shorter videos will not just lessen the stress on you, they will also help new viewers get familiar with you and allow you to address smaller topics that don't easily fit into the larger topics, so mixing them inbetween longer ones will probably have a good effect for everyone.
This theory sounds so cool (pun intended). Maybe her father could be killed by the Knight for some nefarious purpose, causing Noelle to be wracked with guilt because she felts like she wasn't "strong enough" to protect him when he needed it most. Great thinking!!!
@@JaruJaruJ Noelle has been compared to an angel in the Snowgrave route by the ring Addison and Spamton in the dumpster. Maybe she would try to create her own Angel's Heaven and bring back Dess and maybe even exchange her mother's life for her father's...?
@@amagicalbeing7427 maybe it's their world's version of where the exit of "the underground" is. Because the underground has two or more openings. The one on Mt. Ebbot, the one in New Home with Asgor, and where-ever all the water in waterfall comes from. Maybe small cracks?
Re: the shelter urban legend IIRC the only other urban legend type thing we hear about in Deltarune is Noelle searching for "Ice E Real Cryptid." Maybe Noelle searched that after Kris told her about their experience in the shelter...?
She was probably misspelling "cryptic", as in a cryptic crossword or something. We already know Queen likes to take misspellings literally, like with the "video game piano tutoriel"
Dude, i can't believe how underrated you are, especially considering the amount of quality and dedication that you put in each one of your videos. You deserve to get sponsored ASAP
about the shelter... theres something that noelle mentions thats pretty interesting. noelle says that she, dess, and the dreemurr kids used to explore "the woods behind the graveyard" which becomes entirely more ominous when you remember thats where the shelter is. when you pair this with the theory that dess is actually missing and not dead like many assumed it starts to paint a vivid picture, which is very likely considering she doesnt have a grave stone
I think it's not it really (although you can think anything you want of course). Someone discovered how place behind the graveyard exactly lines up with the area restricted by police. But, I mean, that area could have some secret tunnel that connects with the shelter
@@inkbutterfly6706 dess most likely disappeared quite some time ago i doubt the police tape has anything to do with it, its probably just to keep us from going to another area of town that will probably introduced in upcoming chapters (my guess is that thats where the carnival will be). meanwhile the bunker already has too much intrigue thats been set up around it for it not to hold some huge significance down the line. the music even cuts out when you go there, which in toby's games is always a cue that something serious is going on
Btw, i know its a small detail, but i really appreciate the subtitles in your videos. As someone whos having troubles just listening without losing attention, its much easier for me to read along with the subtitles ^-^
If how fast a darkner turns to stone around other dark fountains is based on their overall health or power, this might also imply that Rouxles Kaard is actually pretty powerful too.
@@zixvirzjghamn737 Rouxles had enough time to meet queen and the swatchlings, get kicked out, and then grab a mech and sail. Lancer seemingly turns to stone much faster than Rouxles, even if we assume being in your inventory DIDN'T protect him. And if lancer is that strong, could mean Rouxles is too!
Oh my God, for the last leg of this video there was something staring me right in the face, and I'm both shocked I hadn't noticed this before and also that you didn't bring it up. So, uh, Susie's one line with typer 2 is "[How do you feel...] ...about losing your face?", right? That always struck me as a weirdly harsh and violent line. We come to love Susie, but one of the first things she does is threaten to maim and kill Kris. With as little context as we have at that point in the story, the threat comes across entirely seriously. It really does feel, especially for someone coming into the game with no context (as in when chapter 1 was just the "survey program") like we're still very much in creepypasta territory. Susie is seriously about to grievously assault us and bite off much of our head, leaving us to bleed out. Going to be an "impulsively murdering a classmate" story, then. Yikes. Oh well, her threat is empty anyway and her later behavior is better, so we forgive and forget. Still, though, this one line with the silent typer felt weirdly graphic, like a much more serious threat than anything before or especially after. ...hey, wait a minute. The one other scene this typer value is used in is the intro sequence, the Goner Maker. The sequence revolving around a human vessel with ***no face***. Huh. That, uh, recontextualizes the line quite a bit, doesn't it? Huh.
22:29 If that a shelter meant to PROTECT the entire town٫ is their a possibility that the ENTIRE town will enter a Dark Fountain because of it? I can see this happening in two ways. One. There is already a dark fountain٫ and the entire town goes into the shelter due to a potential threat or something. Two. They enter the shelter for the above reason but the knight is there as well. The knight٫ taking full advantage of the situation٫ opens a dark fountain٫ while everyone is there and awake. Two is actually a good possibility seeing how Noelle and Berdley fell asleep in the Computer Lab and thus٫ the Knight opens a fountain with them in it٫ making them enter the Cyber World. These are just theories tho. 😇
To add onto this; personally, I think if the entire town is thrown into the shelter because of the Roaring: Kris will open up a dark fountain putting everyone in it, in order to make some Lightner army to try and stop the Roaring.
Maybe in Deltarune, monsters were on the surface and humans were trapped in the underground. Just like how in Undertale we players have a choice but in Deltarune we don't.
@@Daniel-ew5qf True. But why would Kris be scared of humans? And its not like they were debating on whether or not Kris went in there٫ they said it like its a fact. No٫ something else is in there٫ but not humans. 🤔
@@Soulfire702 I say it cause it's been occasionally shown throughout the game that Kris isn't fond of humans. Who's to say that Kris just didn't want to go into the shelter and Snowy just took it as him being scared, being the kind of personality he is? Also, how could one know that Kris having been inside the shelter is a solid fact?
A couple things to note about the bunker and about the speaker: Kris is a known trickster. While their preferred victim is Noelle due to how easy she is to frighten, I could totally see Kris telling Monster Kid complete bullshit about the bunker and pretending it was the scariest thing ever. Alternatively, I’ve heard some people suggest something happened at the bunker which resulted in Dess’ disappearance. We simply don’t know enough about what happened to her yet. While in English, the identity of the speaker is hard to pin down, we can pretty easily say it’s not Gaster. Gaster has been shown to have a _very_ specific speaking style, from his use of all caps to his strange and somewhat jarring (for lack of a better term) sentence structure- that is, how his sentences seem to pause for a break partway through. This speech pattern is also how we know it’s Gaster- or, if for some reason we are super off, the writer of Entry Number 17. For example, “ARE WE CONNECTED?” Or the famous “THIS NEXT EXPERIMENT SEEMS VERY VERY INTERESTING.” Toby is very intentional about the details of character speech. It’s something I’m glad for. It’s subtle yet tells us so much. He doesn’t drastically change a character’s speaking style- I think the most he’s done that I can think of was Sans switching between lowercase comic sans and proper capitalization sans serif, but it’s less of a change than upper case to normal caps, and it’s something shown off enough to be an established thing he does. It feels a bit unfair to throw in something like that for the sole purpose of throwing people off without establishing it as something Gaster can do, so I doubt he would. Just think about how different everyone talks in both games, it’s all by design. And now we come to Chara. Aside from occasional silent lines, they’re the only one who consistently speaks in that manner. They have an air of formality about their way of speaking. So that alone is enough to convince me the speaker is them. I don’t see why Toby would break his speech rules just to make a red herring. He could, but it would be weird. But perhaps you want more. Well, lucky for you, we have more. You see, there’s only so much you can do with the English language. Fortunately, we have a Japanese version. Now, I cannot speak it, and I’m going off of what other people have said, but Toby kept his rule of giving characters distinct speech patterns for this version, even introducing new ones where the language allows. Other people can and have made comments going into exact details about the speech patterns of Gaster and Chara, but the point is they both line up with the respective speakers in that cutscene, down to the forms of words they prefer to use. The mannerisms are too specific, it’s just got to be them. Now of course, like I said, Toby could break his rules… but why would he? This all feels too deliberate. He let us have the puzzle pieces he wanted us to have. We have the who… but we don’t have the _why._ We don’t have the what or how. Really, we don’t have anything other than who. Why and how are Gaster and Chara here, what do they want, how are they going to achieve their goals? What happened to them to bring them into this situation? What is even going on? There’s still so much Toby is holding from us until later.
Also, it just makes sense for the second speaker to be Chara because of their nature as explained by them during the genocide ending(s). “That feeling, whenever a number increases, that’s me. “Chara”.” “The demon that appears when you call it’s name.” “It doesn’t matter where, it doesn’t matter when.” An important tidbit of lore to keep in mind for this is that “Chara”‘s name is supposed to be YOUR name. You’re supposed to name the “fallen human” in undertale your own name, and presumably you’d use that name for the Vessel and/or the Creator in the name entry for Deltarune, too, so… Of course Chara appears.
The typer value was not the only evidence to suggest that the final line in the intro sequence was a different character, it has been shown time and time again that Gaster only ever speaks in all caps. Not only that, but he uses very specific dialect and formatting of his lines. When the final line is spoken, all these consistencies with Gasters speech is lost. They dont speak in caps like Gaster, and dont have his specific dialect. There is another instance of this as well, when you first play the game in chapter one, the Save File selection screen looks different. It's made of green and black boxes, with text in all caps and weird dialect much like Gaster, and the voice at the beginning of the intro. However once chapter one is completed, the screen changed to a nice artwork of Kris, Susie, and Ralsei standing infront of a dark fountain. And the text displayed on the interface was no longer in caps, and spoke normally. I dont believe that the second voice there is Chara, but I do believe it is someone else.
Imagine Kris just being one of the few humans left from a roaring, and that is why you have stuff like books of how to take care of a human, like if it was a endangered species
For the Shelter: I think Monster Kid could be bringing up Kris just became he heard the urban legend from Kris. Rather than Kris having an experience with the shelter, it could just be that Kris believed the story and told Monster Kid.
Could be! I personally think the subtext implies Kris actually had an experience here, especially given that they seem unhappy when Susie asks if they want to talk about it, but you could be right!
The primary reason that I think there are two different narrators in the intro sequence isn't because of the typer value (Though, that value does give us a pretty big hint that it's gaster speaking at first); it's because of the Japanese. As you mentioned, the writing systems used in the typer 2 sections match up with how Chara speaks in undertale, and, more notably, *that is different* from how Gaster (as typer 666 and 667) speaks. Gaster uses Katakana and Kanji, exclusively. The second narration uses Hiragana and Kanji exclusively. You don't just accidentally change the writing system you're using without reason. The font changing doesn't mean anything, but the *way it's written* definitely does. EDIT: You do mention that it's possible that Gaster just changed how they were speaking for the sake of being more mysterious or whatever, but I heavily doubt it. They also use different pronouns for the player in japanese; IIRC, Gaster uses extremely formal pronouns during the creation scene, and the potential second narrator uses less formal language, though I'd have to double check that. Point is, I'm almost certain that they use different pronouns, which combined with the grammar change, to me, implies that they're two different characters. The fact that the changed writing style also perfectly matches up with how Chara spoke in undertale is just the icing on the cake.
and in the english, the speaker goes from all capital letters to more normal capitalization. that's a huge flag because gaster is super associated with speaking in all caps. like it just feels like an interruption, yknow?
I absolutely love jaru! He's so down to earth and so chill and it feels like ur talking to ur old friend from college over a cup of coffee. Granted, I'm not and haven't gone to college yet nor have gotten coffee with an old friend, but my point still stands
Okay, the thing that led to people thinking those last lines were said by Chara was not the typer, but the specific grammar and method of speak. I've wasted a lot of time trying (and failing) to learn Japanese so I can tell you. Nihongo (Japanese Language) has three writing systems or "alphabets", the first is hiragana (ひらがな), the second is katakana (カタカナ) and the third one is kanji (漢字) a.k.a the bane of my existence. The usual way to write in Nihongo is to use a combination of hiragana and kanji and sometimes use katakana for stuff like loan words (hamburger is written as ハンバーガー) or onomatopoeia. However, most characters in Undertale and the light world of Deltarune speak mostly in hiragana and katakana and only use very basic kanjis very sparingly, which makes Gaster's method of speaking weird because he uses kanjis regularly and correctly, but instead of using hiragana, he uses katakana. But in the end, that little quirk gets fixed and the text is written in perfect Japanese. With mostly hiragana and a liberal usage of kanjis, which is a trait that only Chara exhibits in Undertale. But that's not all. Gaster has a very professional and formal way of speaking, he calls us by the second-person pronoun of anata (あなた) which is perhaps the most formal second-person pronoun in nihongo, ends most of his sentences with desu (です) and ends all of his requests with kudasai (ください) or "please / if you will". Chara on the other hands refers to us by the second person pronoun of omae (おまえ) which is so informal that some people might even consider it an insult. Chara also speaks a lot more informally in general as well, for example, using the word dekinai (できない) as opposed to how Gaster would say it, dekimasen (できません). And as a cherry on top, Chara also referred to us by omae in Undertale as well.
...A shelter? What if...what if Deltarune is a world where the monsters won the war against the humans, and the humans were the ones forced to hide out underground/in shelters? And Kris was originally a kid that wandered out of an abandoned shelter, long, long after the war? Might explain why a book on "How to care for humans" exists, and why Kris might not like to look at it very much.
spamton who want to break his "strings" that restrict his freedom (which are the green color that computer code is often displayed as) talks about looking up at heaven and asks if heaven is watching him. the first time i saw him say that i instantly realized that heaven probably refers to us the player existing outside the confines of the game and watching everything through a screen. to a character in a video game the real world could only be described as "heaven" to them, a realm of gods outside their understanding. the snowgrave route made me even more sure of this because of noelle's heavy association with angels. if noelle is the angel and we the players are the ones who control of her, wouldnt that make us the "angel's heaven"? and if the main task of our protagonists is to "banish the angel's heaven" doesnt that mean the end goal of the game will be to banish us from playing it? afterall, undertale also had a similar motif about discouraging replays-outside of neutral runs that is. both the best and worst endings for that game present obstacles that prevent you from easily replaying it
16:59 About what you said, an entity in Kris’s soul gaining power from the fountains being sealed: that would totally recontextualize Kris creating a fountain at the end of Chapter 2. Maybe we infer that creating a dark fountain, as opposed to sealing one, has an inverse effect and REMOVES power from the entity? You could then possibly view that scene as Kris trying to steal some power back from the entity. This ties into the Roaring speech that Ralsei gave about the “balance” between light and dark. Maybe Kris is trying to maintain that balance, or maybe that balance is keeping this entity at bay? Which makes me wonder, we know that if there’s too much darkness it could bring about the Roaring. But conversely, what if there’s not enough darkness? Too much light? The balance would still be offset by this, just not the way Ralsei described in the Roaring speech. Wouldn’t that be a twist?
@@pinkajou656 Its inconsistent. Most sprites have it as a heart, some have the upside-down spade. one of the concept art pieces has it as the spade as well
I might have a little theory on the revival thing, maybe every time someone enters a "dark world" they "die" in the lightworld and get revived once the fountain has been sealed, three things that could back up this theory would be 1) The fact that every time you seal a fountain you always "wake up" 2) The soul leaves kris' dark world form at the fountain scene, possibly going back to kris' light world body 3) After casting SNOWGRAVE on Berdly, since he's still "stuck" in the dark world he doesn't wake up because he's dead in the light world (but might still be alive in the dark world)
The light world typer vs the typer dark world is probably used for the scaling differences in the game. As the dark world scales up and the overworld doesn't. (Dk world camera is prob bigger.)
Happy to see another video man. This is a treat as always, it's amazing how you're just determined towards this Deltarune style for your channel. As always love what you do, ever gonna branch to different games in the future?
The more Deltarune videos I listen to, the more I feel like Asriel is probably not dead, and is merely expected to come back from college after the time the game is assumed to end. The way they state specifically that Asriel will be back in "7 days" really makes me think that his absence is probably to trick us and it will probably be a fake-out where he comes home just after the world is saved and wonders what even happened to a couple of uprooted buildings, or something like that
I actually found out that the “bunker” was room-town-shelter was when I got a glitch that let me run around town in chapter two without Susie. I ran down to the shelter when the glitch was taking place, and the game crashed because Susie wasn’t there for her role in the cutscene that takes place. I got a fatal error message stating Susie wasn’t in position for scene 0 at location room-town-shelter. I admit: I felt like I made a breakthrough, *while at the same time being scared* (don’t ask why, I don’t even know)
For the "wake up" one, I think it might appear when the full game releases and you reset after completing the full game, because it might be a flashforward to something that happens in a later chapter. It would make sense, because in Undertale, atleast, there are references to past resets.
16:30 Revival could also mean that the Deltarune "reality" treats the Dark Worlds as a form of collective dream, and sealing the fountain "revives", or awakens, everyone that fell in from the Light World.
the thing about the way in which Gaster speaks is that it's exclusively in uppercase letters, whether in DT's intro or on Twitter, so the Typer 2 voice most likely isn't Gaster not because of the typer number, but because of the lowercase letters uncharacteristic for him.
19:48 my theory on this is this is from a timeline before a reset happened, like, I believe before we took control of Kris, they had a previous adventure in the Dark World with Susie, but they died in that timeline, and our soul took their souls place and reset the timeline, resetting everything to before Kris's Dark World adventure, and starting a new timeline where we're possessing Kris, it would explain where Kris's actual soul went, and it would explain the funky text, and even explain why it was hidden, as it was from another timeline lol
I think the "Wake up" discovery ties into the Spamton Sweepstakes, where a secret link leads to Noelle's blog. In one entry, she talks about Kris sleeping at the end of class, and Susie staying behind to bully them. Iirc Susie shouts something like what is said, so maybe hearing Toriel say that in the real world was carried over to the dream in a way that mimics real events. This would suggest that despite how stoic Kris appears to be, Susie bullying them might have had some sort of lasting effect.
For the typer thing, Sans also switches typers in Undertale to a default and silent type for a single line when speaking in the restaurant before the Core. Y'know, the "Y o u ' d b e d e a d w h e r e y o u s t a n d" line? Of course it's spaced different, but the idea of switching typers for a line to emphasise a point in a dialogue still stands.
I think the reason Monster Kid mentioned Kris in front of the bunker might be because Kris used the urban legend to joke with him before. It is also known that Kris is a very mischievous kid and they joked to Noelle that Ice-E is real.
the bunker being called the shelter makes me think "what if it was a shelter from the roaring?' the titans and chaos and everything of the roaring, having some way to try and at least shelter the lightners from it would smart, though itd mean that whoever built it would also have to know about dark fountains and the roaring
I don't know if you already thought about this or if it was mentioned before but here is my view on the "revival": So first things first, I believe the dark worlds and fountains serve as some kind of "mental therapy" for their real lives. You can tell that chapter 1's candidate for that was Susie. During chapters 1 & 2 we learn that - she either lives in the streets or has no room of herself (from the strange stuff she eats, her saying "wow my own room just like this", and her bully behaviour) - she pretends to call her parents at the end of chapter 2 when Toriel tells her to but doesnt actually do it - the King says the same line "quiet people piss me off" at the end that Susie says to Kris in the beginning of chapter 1 From all of this we can reason that she does not have a good relationship with her parents and might be living alone or somewhere else. Chapter 1 depicts her relationship with her father with Lancer taking her role and the King taking her fathers role. Lancer even introduces himself as "[...] but to you I am the bad guy" even though he is actually a good person underneath which is exactly how Susie is like. Seen as a bully and a frightening person with her actively supporting that view, even though she's really not. I could go on and on about these hints and connections but I think it's enough. Either way at the end of chapter 1 Susie (or Lancer depicting her situation) is saved. She made friends for the first time and grew a lot as a person. From then on you are also able to see her eyes. Maybe in that sense the process of clearing a dark world and sealing the fountain serves as a way of mental 'revival'. For chapter 2 you can see the same parallels just with Noelle coming to terms with her mother (Queen in this case who acts like a mom wanting the best for her) who we hear from her dad isn't on good terms with Noelle. In the same way the Ralsei in the dark world could be a therapy for Kris. Like a perfect version of how he always wanted his big brother Asriel to be . But in reality their relationship might not be so good judging at how their room look like and how Asriel got all the trophies and stuff. Either that or Ralsei is the 'antagonist' or the one acting against our goal. In the story with the roaring he reveals that "lightners will be left all alone and darkners will disappear". But maybe that is actually a favorable situation because going with the theme of mental therapy, even though the dark worlds might help and lay out the problem through a fantastical analogy, a person can only completely heal themselves using their own power and will in the real world...
I've just found your channel because of this video that popped up for me, and I gotta say: the way you talk and laugh about the fanart people nake for you is so wholesome! I couldn't help but smile when you said "this is the best thing EVER" while describing Susie flying into the skies... So cute I love it
Yoooo new video as I got home from work. Thanks Jared! My take on the 3rd definition of revival, its a parallel to the barrier from UT. Both at the end of the chapter/game, and both having similar ambience/vibes. And both, you, the human, interact with to end the troubles.
Regarding that last point: We have never seen an instance of Gaster changing the capitalization of his speech. Every time we know for sure it's him speaking it's been written in all caps with a new line created every few words (likely to indicate the idea of a short pause, or something similar) that and also I believe the JP writing style for the mystery character in the intro ISN'T used in the same context as Typer 2. It's specifically a *formal* writing style, something no other character uses *except* for Chara in Undertale.
I think I understand save point "light". In undertale, "determination" would allow frisk to go back in time and alter events. In deltarune, "light" seems to do the same thing. But what if "light" doesn't go back in time, but instead fast forwards till after the timeline resets. I also found that when you copy a save file, deltarune refers to it as a "reflection".
For snd_revival, my first thought was that it was originally a sound that would be played when you revive a downed party member, repurposed to play where it does now. Just to be sure, I modded it in as a revive sound and sure enough it fits pretty well as a revive sound. The explanation here isn't out of the question, but it's much more likely that it's a leftover from development.
I loved this video as always. I can't wait for the 5 hour spamton video, but I think the shorter form videos will be great. 30-60min feels pretty nice. I wonder what else is going to be made, always nice having a new set of ideas to work with. All your theories are sound, but I still think that they need a stronger connection to each other and what is deltarune. Also, just something to consider, do you think deltarune will have more than 7 chapters, or do you think 7 is how many currently planned? I predict that there will be a version of deltarune that you buy, and has an extra chapter 8 and ties everything up tighter. Anyway, can't wait to see more.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like the new upload plan. And yes, I do think DELTARUNE will have more than 7 Chapters! Some other folks have suggested that they may have found evidence of a Chapter 8, 9, 10, and Chapter 0, which is very interesting. Thank you for the kind words and comment!
@@JaruJaruJ That is true, if you search for "IMAGE_LOGO_CENTER_CHAPTERNUMBER" in undertale mod tool, you get a sprite with 11 textures that have text saying "CHAPTER {insert number from 0 to 10 here}", the ones you see in the intro and in the top left of the menu when you enter a chapter There is also "spr_chapterIcon" which has 10 textures, those being the icons that you see in the main menu next to each chapter. Interestingly, there isn't any icon for chapter 0, which makes me believe that chapter 0 probably won't exist and was just there to push the count up by 1 (because indexes start at 0, so it could be there just for convenience's sake) (it would be cool to have like a 'prequel' / 'flashback' chapter tho)
I love this video! It's such a unique idea for a Deltarune video as I haven't seen anything like it. I love how your definition of a 'short' video is still an hour long, the amount of work you put into your videos is phenomenal. I'd love to see a more relaxed video about your predictions for future chapters. Such as dark world locations, important events, and if you think the chapters will follow a pattern/theme of some sort (such as the dark worlds all being based off of escapism). It can also include just things you'd like to see in future chapters, whether they're super important to the main story or not. I absolutely love seeing people's predictions for future chapters and you have the most interesting deltarune predictions I've ever seen! Its just an idea though
Thank you for the kind words and suggestions! I'll take note of your idea. Although, I should point out that my Lore Playthrough of Chapter 1 is very similar to what you've described! It's a very slow-paced, casual playthrough where I discuss things at my own pace. You might want to check it out if you haven't already! x)
Jaru has to be one of my favorite people on TH-cam as far as recent memories go. Your overwhelming positivity as well as keen eye on details that others don’t seem to catch makes for a fantastic combination. Please keep going, but i do agree with your last bit. Only keep going if it’s healthy for you. Have a fantastic day jaru.
And I had a blast talking about it! I felt bad that I didn't discuss it more thoroughly! You're very talented, and I'm very appreciative of you sharing it with us!

11:00 Given this is the sound when Kris' Light counteracts the Darkness, the "Revival" here likely refers to that of the World which is dying/in danger when these Fountains are made. "Only they can seal the FOUNTAINS ("THE HOLY") and banish the ANGEL'S HEAVEN. Only then will balance be restored, and the world saved from destruction" What's important to note, however, is that Gaster talks about Deltarune "GLOWS BRIGHTLY" from our hope, as we play and seal these Fountains on Twitter. Given that ENTRY NUMBER SEVENTEEN appears to reference the Roaring, how Gaster talks about "CREATING A NEW FUTURE WITH YOU", how Jevil and Seam talk about the Roaring being inevitable and having little faith in us and how Toby has described Deltarune as "Shrouded in Darkness" before release. Perhaps it is *Deltarune* that is being revived (Though ultimately this is the same as the world being saved as I said above.)
I can never get enough of you work, I feel near obligated to binge your vids everytime a new one drops, makes me late to the discussion but I love the experience anyways.
I fucking love these videos because I stop paying attention for like one second and suddenly like 50 new points have appeared and it's like *FRISK IS KRIS WHO IS ALSO ASRIEL ALSO RALSEI IS A FLOWEY AND A DARKNER AND A LIGHTNER AND SUSIE IS A DRAGON AND THEY ALL ARE IN A TIME LOOP*
About Kris falling asleep in class and Susie waking them up... Noelle in one of the recent posts describes a situation where Kris stayed asleep after class and Susie woke them up I doubt these are connected, but I thought it was neat
I agree with the typer-related evidence but I still think that logically speaking if we assume Gaster is speaking to start, based on what we know of him as a renowned scientist, it just doesn't make any sense for him to throw everything away at the end like that while in the middle of a self proclaimed experiment of some kind unless someone else hijacked the show (although I believe the specifics of who did that are still up for interpretation even if I have a good idea myself)
Absolutely! Like I said, while the Typers are too ambiguous to support much of anything, that doesn't mean the Multiple-Intro-Speakers Theory is wrong. It's absolutely still a valid possibility!
dear jaru, I just realized deltarune has an element system. these elements define aspects of certain enemies/characters' behaviors, and some of these elements can be paired together in a yin-yang fashion. also, is rude an element? what element is ralsei? what effects do elements have on people's behavior? can more than two elements be grouped? how many different elements are there? I came to you because you can answer these questions in detail. i have more info if you're interested.
I also saw HalfBreadChaos' video, and the Elemental Magic system in DELTARUNE is certainly very interesting! I actually intend to discuss that system at length in a future video, though, so I'll save my full thoughts for that. x)
I am beyond curious about that shelter!! Is it how Kris & co. survived whatever happened to Dess? Is it where Dess herself got lost or killed?? I will say that rifling through other people’s private things and finding something horrifying while the whole town is sheltered sounds right up both Kris and the player’s personalities lol. Thanks for another amazing video! Take your time and don’t put too much pressure on yourself!
41:58 I wouldn't say that, the difference in style of speech is still a form of proof that it cannot be Gaster as Gaster speaks in CAPS and is generally very polite (in Japanese and in English) while this character (in Japanese but it's familiar to genocide players as well) is about as rude as Chara and no longer speaks in caps. Something he never does in other contexts, such as when handling SAVE files where he warns us about deleting a save file only with red text but never changes the way he speaks. *THEN IT WILL BE DESTROYED*
As for the shelter, I think it's pretty clear that Kris encountered *something* there in the past. Remember when, in Chapter 2, Noelle recollects a time they (Kris, Noelle, Asriel, and Dess) explored "the forest behind the graveyard", which describes the location of the shelter, at night? She claims they never found anything interesting, but, as we see several times during Chapter 2, especially in the Snowgrave route, that Noelle has a tendency to block out and rationalise away traumatic experiences. So, perhaps they did find something there? Asriel or Dess could confirm or deny this, but Asriel is (supposedly) at college and Dess has since disappeared, possibly shortly after this encounter... What's also interesting about that is that, in Chapter 2, the Wet-Nose Bandits inside the prison cell says that when they were outside the Mayor's (ie the Holidays') residence and were about the sneak in, they were attacked by something "MERCILESS" (interesting choice of word) from the shadows that they only barely escaped with their lives. It's played for laughs, but what if there's something to it? Is there someone or something out there, prowling about Hometown? Someone or something interested in the Holiday family?
Uh, yeah. Duh. You just mentioned a little part of the Bunker Incident theory. That theory explains and ties together a LOT of stuff. It's cool that you read it, but gotta give credit where credit IS due. As for the merciless entity, it could be the Santa Claus Vigilante if you believe in that theory aswell
@@laguet93 Oh? This is something I thought about after playing through the game a few times and reading some disparate ideas on the deltarune subreddit. Which one singular person should I credit that owns this theory? The Santa Clause vigilante I have never heard about. Could you elaborate? My idea is that the something inside the bunker that young Kris saw was something a little bit like ICE-E, because young Kris told Noelle that ICE-E was real and ate kids, the general creepiness of ICE-E, and the fact that it seems that Noelle has some sort of trauma related to ice/the cold.
@@zazanza This is going to be a long comment ! Well, the Santa Claus Vigilante is a theory that says Asgore is living a double life as Hometown's Batman It does sound crazy imo but some elements suggest it 1) Asgore was the police chief, so his job was all about catching criminals and protecting people, it's something he loves to do, but can't do anymore because he's been fired. So, he has a *motive* to become a vigilante : keep protecting people without anyone knowing about it since it's not your job anymore 2) We know from exploring his shop that He's been Reading a LOT of super hero comic Books, and this would be where he got the idea of having a secret super hero identity. 3) Alphys herself comments on how Asgore would make a perfect super hero ("he's huge and could kick my a**") Moreover these two seem to be closer in DT than they were in UT, and given how Bad alphys is at keeping secrets, the fact she mentions the idea might be a slip up. 4) The dogs met the merciless entity while they were trying to break into Rudy's house. It would make sense for Asgore to protect his best Friend's house and family, especially since Rudy's in the hospital for now. We know Asgore, behind the soft pushover act, can be a sigma male killing machine that murders children in cold blood. The merciless entity is pretty much the reason why the dogs were caught by Undyne and it's a strange coïncidence that both her and the entity would be there at the same time and it's REALLY suspicious that she didn't go After that entity the dogs were talking about : she's always complaining that nothing ever happens in Town, but when she catches a bunch of criminals running from something terrifying she just... ignores it ? Maybe because she knows exactly what this entity is, she, of all people would know about the Vigilante (she would be Asgore's Gordon) 5) Finally, why would Asgore's super hero persona be Santa Claus ? Well, that part is the most hypothetical, but in New home you Can find a Santa Claus disguise, and the alarm clock dialogues mentions how Asgore is the one using it. It's really the only thing he'd have to disguise himself if we want to stick to what's been presented to us. It would be in character for Asgore to choose such a Silly super hero identity too. But it could end up being something else entirely, i just like the Santa Claus idea. Now, going off of that, MAYBE we won't see Undyne in ch3, but Asgore. Think about it, if Asgore is acting as the Santa Claus Vigilante, and the police chief receives a call from his ex about someone slashing her car, don't you think Asgore would insist on taking Care of it ? And if it does happen and Asgore falls in the Dark World, i have a feeling his darkworld outfit will be a Santa Claus disguise. And if there's a "snowgrave" route, wouldn't it be fitting to brainwhash Toriel and making her burn Asgore alive ? We'd make the Joker kill Batman. And that would be a terrifying route. As for the Bunker Theory, it makes sense you never saw it on Reddit/Tumblr or anything like that. The theory comes from a group of people in the non-english Deltarune community. A group I am part of. I'll post the entire theory here when i have Time (it's a lengthy theory and I can't copy/paste it, YT will censor it)
@@laguet93 That's a pretty cool theory, tbh. I haven't heard that one before. I wonder if Rudy saying that Noelle is scared of Santa plays into it somehow? And the Bandit Dogs' emphasis on the word *merciless* takes on a different meaning, considering that in Undertale, it was Asgore that destroyed the Mercy button in his boss fight, if this is true. Although I feel that Chapter 3 is a bit early for Asgore to potentially die, I suppose it is more impactful for him to take part of a storyline set in the Dark World version of the Dreemurr household than Undyne. Very interesting.
If the time loop theory is to be believed, what if Kris has the ability to reset but loses said ability at the beginning of each timeline due to the player. But as the timeline goes on Kris slowly gains back their power. They reset to have the same adventure with Susie over and over again. But maybe to also find a way to get rid of the player entirely. Just speculation but an interesting notion.
just to go into depth abt the the two speakers theory being supported by the Japanese version of the game: For those who don't know, Japanese has 3 different alphabets - kanji, hiragana, and katakana. The first speaker using typer 666 uses a mixture of Kanji and Katakana. Kanji is used by pretty much all Japanese people, but young children are less likely to know as many. if the speaker knows more, it would imply they are older or more intelligent, which lines up with it being Gaster who speaks during these sections. Katakana on the other hand is used for spelling foreign words. Since Gaster presumably started off in the undertale universe and only ended up with access to the deltarune one due to him being "Scattered across time and space", perhaps it makes sense for him to speak as if everything is a foreign language. After all, I have seen alien characters in Japanese media speak only using katakana to represent how the whole language is foreign to them. Another thing to note is this first speaker's use of first and second person pronouns. In Japanese, there are many ways to say "me" and "you" and even "us". The first speaker uses very posh, if a little strange or potentially proud sounding words like "wareware" for us and "anata" for you. It's a bit hard to explain, but they really fit the image of a renowned scientist addressing his lowly subject in my opinion. The other speaker, though, uses the much more informal, somewhat childish "boku" for "me", and "omae" for you. The thematic difference of these words is so great it's hard to believe the same speaker would use them all in conjunction with one another. What's more, this alleged second speaker uses the third alphabet Hiragana (alongside some simple Kanji) which the first speaker does not. Hiragana is the first alphabet children learn and can be used to spell anything without the need for the more challenging Kanji. This combined with their use of "boku" would seem to imply a much younger speaker whose also a bit brash or rude, so them being Chara holds up.
Susie being typer 2 could still work since she's the only one who also mentions this "your choices don't matter" theme, and since she appears to have a pretty terrible life I could easily see saying this line to someone. But what I want to know is who in undertale uses typer 2? It would probably help narrow it down.
A very interesting idea came to my mind about the shelter. If something scary is truly inside the shelter, perhaps the shelter is not a shelter in the sense that it is meant to protect what is inside from the outside world, but instead is meant to protect the outside world from what is inside of it. This explanation follows Jevil’s line of reasoning in Chapter 1 and we know that Jevil has been in contact with a shadow crystal so… I don’t know if there is any actual truth to this theory, it’s just a random thought I figured I would post.
Great video man, as per usual! The new schedule honestly just seems better for your mental health which I respect. Burnout can be super tiring lmao Also thanks a million for the compliments on my art, that has single-handedly made my day :)
It was my pleasure Byran! It makes my day every time I see such wonderful art from people like you! Me giving you some praise is the least I can do! Thank you very much for blessing me with your work!
I know I'm late to the video discussion, but the Typer discussion really made me think about the positioning and timeline of the intro sequence. If there's a dark world and a light world typer data for each character, perhaps typer 666 and typer 667 denotes Gaster in the dark world and the light world. If so, the intro sequence might go light world > dark world > light world, which I think has a lot of potential lore ramifications. But taking it even further, if this sequence DOES take place immediately before Kris wakes up, the insinuation being its a dream sequence, would that imply a switch from the dream world (dark world) > somewhere darker (darker world) > dreamworld? If the intro sequence was a look into a dark, yet darker world I'd find that very interesting.
Hmm! That's an interesting thought! Would the Darker World have a similar Typer to the Light World? If so, that one's hell of a twisty detail on Toby's part. xD
1: Revival may just mean you revived the world since the area the Dark Fountain is open in, transform into said Dark World 2: Not much to say here, dont really have any ideas 3:My personal theory is the rumor of the Shelter, is that Ice-E is in there, as Kris told Noelle that Ice-E was real, but maybe Kris saw something much worst, and decided to lie that it was Ice-E 4: I saw another comment, but "Candodge" is totally the "Warn" mechanic of Chapter 1, and might just be copy pasted for every Chapter 1 enemy, which is why Lancer has it 5: Not much for me to share about this either (Original comment) This is seriously the most underrated Undertale/Deltarune Theories/Discussion video channel They are some of the most well-made things I have watched I will edit this comment once I finish the video to add onto it with anything I may know
Ngl I almost popped off at the mythical Raid ad lmao. It would be _awesome_ if you got sponsored by anyone for talking about Deltarune, I think we all agree. Also, absolutely don't worry about getting videos out at a constant rate, it's great to hear that you're not overworking yourself. You ought to be your #1 priority, always, is my opinion. And whenever the huge 10-hour trilogy vid about Rouxls Kaard (or whoever) _does_ come out, it'll be a wonderful surprise, and it'd be even better because you didn't feel you needed to rush. :)
snd_revival, in a less interesting explanation, could just be named as such for how it sounds like It is as if something powerful was rising up, perhaps Toby made this sound before he knew where it would be used and he just gave it a fitting name Maybe he was going to use it for some scene, but ended up using it for this. Maybe whenever a player was revived in combat, it sounded like this. Does not mean the name is meaningless, but it may refer to something different, like maybe playing a part on reviving a fallen monster
That's what I was thinking too, at least as a devil's advocate explanation. And it's not unheard of, seeing as the "clubs music" is called "April 2012" and Sans's theme is called "mus_muscleman" or something like that. As a middle ground, perhaps the sound is/will be used elsewhere in a place that has a more straightforward relationship to revival, and the same sound is used here to avoid storing it twice.
i think the revival theory is a bit over thought. it's likely referencing how every lightner in a dark world "wakes up" when the fountain is sealed. which might mean their physical bodies are rejected in a dark world
Pretty sure **candodge** is a variable that gets set to true whenever the party warns the enemies to dodge Susie's attacks. About the second Lancer fight, pretty sure it's just for plot reasons so Susie couldn't "kill" him until the cutscene finishes.
Absolutely valid possibility! Since warning enemies isn't a mechanic in Chapter 2, that could absolutely be what it means!
Can dod ge
Afaik, any defense set too high also causes a dodge/miss, or maybe that was Undertale
hey can’t sans dodge 🤔
Actually candodge is a value that determines if the enemy has the lancer's dodge animation. Or that's what I remember
Maybe in the first Lancer fight, we are depleting his bike HP, not his, the same way Queen says we have been depleting her chair HP, that's why he has less HP in the first fight.
Very good point!
That would make the first lancer fight more funny 😆
Then he buffed his bike for The Evil Fun Gang and only attack him when Vs Susie
you can actually make his bike tired in the fight so yeah this is true
@@society1876 absolutely hilarious, Toby being a genius yet again
The Susie saying "Wake up" reminds me of the Game Over screen in chapter 2, where Susie and Ralsei tell Kris to wake up. Maybe the game gets reset to the beginning of chapter 1 when a soul chooses to give up during the game over?
Ooo, interesting!
seems to be that way! in a tumblr post, someone showed that unused dialogue and theorized when one "dies", the timeline is reset and they begin at chapter 1 again. they were talking about berdly possibly not being dead in the snowgrave route, because what happens in the dark world is only assumed into reality. what i mean is, by the end of a neutral route in ch 2, birdlys arm gets fried, and he wakes up with it not moving. this is because he perceived it in the dark world, so it happened in reality. following this, if kris/the player were to give up after dying, the voice in the game over screen says the world was covered in darkness. so maybe if kris were to die, they would hear susie saying to get up, and if they dont, well, they just start from the beginning! im not 100% sure in this theory but it holds interesting opportunities :0
Bro that reminds me of that one guy who stares at the screen and says WAKE UP WAKE UP
I think there are 4 different present timelines playing at the same time, the Pacifist timeline, the Neutral timeline, the Snowgrave timeline and the Soulless timeline.
Leads me to believe that LV means something else this time around
Unless you freeze the enemies they don’t die if you loose them until you seal the fountain
Or maybe it was originally used for a different purpose and he just didn't rename the file. Just saying.
@@rompevuevitos222 Could be that LV is different in the Dark World vs. the overworld. We've already seen the UI differences and other changes, this may well be another!
@@michaelhuit Would make sense
About the revival thing: It's almost as if the power/energy of the fountain is being absorbed. The sound effect kinda sounds like something is being sucked up (maybe that's why spamton calls us "little sponge"? The spamton fun pak merch had a heart shaped sponge... Veeery symbolic when u realize the water element of the word "fountain"). And then this power is being distributed to everyone who is considered part of the party, leveling them up one per closed fountain starting from level 1. Maybe Kris has the ultimate goal to strengthen it and, with that, also themselves and their friends for some kind of objective.
Very interesting theory!
@@JaruJaruJ thank you so much :D

Proud of you for landing the Spade: Shadow Crystals sponsorship. Congrats man.
Thanks man! I knew there'd be some backlash, but what can I say? I needed the Kromer! xD
Very good point! Further proof that Darkners have variable stats!
@@JaruJaruJ but... we've known that?
The bunker being called "shelter" in the code is quite interesting. Considering it goes underground, it is probably made to withstand the elements in case of something like a heavy storm or a tornado. Now, what is the only instance we have seen something like that happen in the game? Snowgrave, the spell that wreaked havoc and caused Berdly to go into some kind of coma, if it didn't outright kill him.
This allows the shelter to be interpreted in two different ways.
1) As support for the Dess theories which state Kris and their friends went into this shelter for protection from a Snowgrave-esque storm, somehow leading to Dess' demise or disappearence
2) In a future chapter, the if the evacuation of the town happens as you proposed, it could be related to Noelle going berserk at some point and Snowgraving the town, possibly if her father dies
Regarding your new upload plans, I think this change is good.
Love the idea of Hometown getting hit with a crazy blizzard caused by Noelle! Very cool concept! And thanks for the feedback!

Re: the shelter urban legend
IIRC the only other urban legend type thing we hear about in Deltarune is Noelle searching for "Ice E Real Cryptid." Maybe Noelle searched that after Kris told her about their experience in the shelter...?
Interesting idea!
She was probably misspelling "cryptic", as in a cryptic crossword or something. We already know Queen likes to take misspellings literally, like with the "video game piano tutoriel"
The "Kris wake up!" Could be the first line we'll see in the ch3 , and it can be something for next in the same time

about the shelter... theres something that noelle mentions thats pretty interesting. noelle says that she, dess, and the dreemurr kids used to explore "the woods behind the graveyard" which becomes entirely more ominous when you remember thats where the shelter is. when you pair this with the theory that dess is actually missing and not dead like many assumed it starts to paint a vivid picture, which is very likely considering she doesnt have a grave stone
I think it's not it really (although you can think anything you want of course). Someone discovered how place behind the graveyard exactly lines up with the area restricted by police. But, I mean, that area could have some secret tunnel that connects with the shelter

Huh.
Woah! The human vessel with no face line got me! Don't know if that means anything, but that's a really cool connection you made!

@@JaruJaruJ And would you look at that... KING also has no face while speaking in Typer 2, obscured by shadows as it is.
To add onto this; personally, I think if the entire town is thrown into the shelter because of the Roaring: Kris will open up a dark fountain putting everyone in it, in order to make some Lightner army to try and stop the Roaring.

Kris is a known trickster.
For example,
“ARE WE
CONNECTED?”
Or the famous
“THIS NEXT EXPERIMENT SEEMS
VERY
VERY
INTERESTING.”
Toby is very intentional about the details of character speech.
“Chara”.”
“The demon that appears when you call it’s name.”
“It doesn’t matter where, it doesn’t matter when.”
An important tidbit of lore to keep in mind for this is that “Chara”‘s name is supposed to be YOUR name. You’re supposed to name the “fallen human” in undertale your own name, and presumably you’d use that name for the Vessel and/or the Creator in the name entry for Deltarune, too, so…
Of course Chara appears.

it could be a new character...
That definitely is interesting
Kanji god and natural Chinese speaker here. If you have any need, dump it on me.
@@PhantomGato-v- thanks. I did gave up trying to learn Japanese but I appreciate the offer.
...A shelter?
You make some very good points!

I might have a little theory on the revival thing, maybe every time someone enters a "dark world" they "die" in the lightworld and get revived once the fountain has been sealed, three things that could back up this theory would be
1) The fact that every time you seal a fountain you always "wake up"
2) The soul leaves kris' dark world form at the fountain scene, possibly going back to kris' light world body
3) After casting SNOWGRAVE on Berdly, since he's still "stuck" in the dark world he doesn't wake up because he's dead in the light world (but might still be alive in the dark world)
Interesting!

What do y'all think?
The light world typer vs the typer dark world is probably used for the scaling differences in the game. As the dark world scales up and the overworld doesn't. (Dk world camera is prob bigger.)
Happy to see another video man. This is a treat as always, it's amazing how you're just determined towards this Deltarune style for your channel. As always love what you do, ever gonna branch to different games in the future?
Thanks a ton! And yes, I do plan to make videos on other topics soon. x)
If you apply this level of interest to all your games, the videos will be ✨amazing✨
The more Deltarune videos I listen to, the more I feel like Asriel is probably not dead, and is merely expected to come back from college after the time the game is assumed to end.
The way they state specifically that Asriel will be back in "7 days" really makes me think that his absence is probably to trick us and it will probably be a fake-out where he comes home just after the world is saved and wonders what even happened to a couple of uprooted buildings, or something like that
Unrelated to the theory, but I love how hyped you are about the fanart. I got excited because you were excited! It was super fun to watch!

I admit: I felt like I made a breakthrough, *while at the same time being scared* (don’t ask why, I don’t even know)
Wow that seems pretty cool I hope u weren't 2 scared tho
Like a good ole creepypasta
👍
For the "wake up" one, I think it might appear when the full game releases and you reset after completing the full game, because it might be a flashforward to something that happens in a later chapter. It would make sense, because in Undertale, atleast, there are references to past resets.
You know it is a JaruJaruJ video when 46 minutes is considered short
the dedication you have to this game is simply impressive
You're so enthusiastic about the fanart, it's cute

Revival could also mean that the Deltarune "reality" treats the Dark Worlds as a form of collective dream, and sealing the fountain "revives", or awakens, everyone that fell in from the Light World.
the thing about the way in which Gaster speaks is that it's exclusively in uppercase letters, whether in DT's intro or on Twitter, so the Typer 2 voice most likely isn't Gaster not because of the typer number, but because of the lowercase letters uncharacteristic for him.
Intereesting idea!
cool
I think the "Wake up" discovery ties into the Spamton Sweepstakes, where a secret link leads to Noelle's blog. In one entry, she talks about Kris sleeping at the end of class, and Susie staying behind to bully them. Iirc Susie shouts something like what is said, so maybe hearing Toriel say that in the real world was carried over to the dream in a way that mimics real events. This would suggest that despite how stoic Kris appears to be, Susie bullying them might have had some sort of lasting effect.
this!
Thanks for showing my art and that of others, nice to see you showcase and talk about stuff made by your viewers!
It was absolutely my pleasure! Thank you for the absolutely incredible art! You are wonderfully talented!
WHY ARE YOU SO WHOLESOME OMG
xD
I love how appreciative you are over the fanart you receive! It's very wholesome haha
Thanks! It really means a lot to me. x)
29:59 You are, I believe that the “candodge” variable is just a way to track if you have used the “Warning” Act during a battle.
the bunker being called the shelter makes me think "what if it was a shelter from the roaring?'
the titans and chaos and everything of the roaring, having some way to try and at least shelter the lightners from it would smart, though itd mean that whoever built it would also have to know about dark fountains and the roaring
I love Susie's dragon design so much! I have a friend that gives off many Susie vibes and she has a dragon OC so this reminds me a lot of her
Dragon Susie is BEST Susie! xD
I don't know if you already thought about this or if it was mentioned before but here is my view on the "revival":
So first things first, I believe the dark worlds and fountains serve as some kind of "mental therapy" for their real lives.
You can tell that chapter 1's candidate for that was Susie. During chapters 1 & 2 we learn that
- she either lives in the streets or has no room of herself (from the strange stuff she eats, her saying "wow my own room just like this", and her bully behaviour)
- she pretends to call her parents at the end of chapter 2 when Toriel tells her to but doesnt actually do it
- the King says the same line "quiet people piss me off" at the end that Susie says to Kris in the beginning of chapter 1
From all of this we can reason that she does not have a good relationship with her parents and might be living alone or somewhere else.
Interesting!
I've just found your channel because of this video that popped up for me, and I gotta say: the way you talk and laugh about the fanart people nake for you is so wholesome! I couldn't help but smile when you said "this is the best thing EVER" while describing Susie flying into the skies...

Yoooo new video as I got home from work. Thanks Jared!
My take on the 3rd definition of revival, its a parallel to the barrier from UT. Both at the end of the chapter/game, and both having similar ambience/vibes. And both, you, the human, interact with to end the troubles.
Jared. That's fantastic. xD
Interesting theories!
@@JaruJaruJ That is true, if you search for "IMAGE_LOGO_CENTER_CHAPTERNUMBER" in undertale mod tool, you get a sprite with 11 textures that have text saying "CHAPTER {insert number from 0 to 10 here}", the ones you see in the intro and in the top left of the menu when you enter a chapter
There is also "spr_chapterIcon" which has 10 textures, those being the icons that you see in the main menu next to each chapter. Interestingly, there isn't any icon for chapter 0, which makes me believe that chapter 0 probably won't exist and was just there to push the count up by 1 (because indexes start at 0, so it could be there just for convenience's sake)
(it would be cool to have like a 'prequel' / 'flashback' chapter tho)
12:35 It could be talking about the light becoming important again in that area
I love this video! It's such a unique idea for a Deltarune video as I haven't seen anything like it. I love how your definition of a 'short' video is still an hour long, the amount of work you put into your videos is phenomenal.
I'd love to see a more relaxed video about your predictions for future chapters. I absolutely love seeing people's predictions for future chapters and you have the most interesting deltarune predictions I've ever seen! Its just an idea though

My pleasure! Hope you enjoy! :D
Only then will balance be restored, and the world saved from destruction"
What's important to note, however, is that Gaster talks about Deltarune "GLOWS BRIGHTLY" from our hope, as we play and seal these Fountains on Twitter.

I doubt these are connected, but I thought it was neat
I actually intend to discuss that system at length in a future video, though, so I'll save my full thoughts for that. x)
@@JaruJaruJ cool!
Lots of potential for an interesting theory there, to be sure!
Uh, yeah.
Well, the Santa Claus Vigilante is a theory that says Asgore is living a double life as Hometown's Batman
It does sound crazy imo but some elements suggest it
1) Asgore was the police chief, so his job was all about catching criminals and protecting people, it's something he loves to do, but can't do anymore because he's been fired. So, he has a *motive* to become a vigilante : keep protecting people without anyone knowing about it since it's not your job anymore
2) We know from exploring his shop that He's been Reading a LOT of super hero comic Books, and this would be where he got the idea of having a secret super hero identity.
3) Alphys herself comments on how Asgore would make a perfect super hero ("he's huge and could kick my a**")
Moreover these two seem to be closer in DT than they were in UT, and given how Bad alphys is at keeping secrets, the fact she mentions the idea might be a slip up.
Maybe because she knows exactly what this entity is, she, of all people would know about the Vigilante (she would be Asgore's Gordon)
5) Finally, why would Asgore's super hero persona be Santa Claus ?
Just checked, and Typer 2 is for the generic in-combat text used by monsters.
@@JaruJaruJ it is believed the chara is the narrator so that could still matter.
I will always think that Lancer has greater lore implications in the future. Great video! 💗💗💗
Thank you! And I'd love to think the little guy has importance! He's a fun character. x)
so heartwarming just hearing your voice after a while. love you jaru!
Aw, thanks!
what if the urban legend is gaster just the way its an urban legend in the UT/DR community
Interesting idea!
Great theories, I am excited to see more of your content in the future!
A very interesting idea came to my mind about the shelter. If something scary is truly inside the shelter, perhaps the shelter is not a shelter in the sense that it is meant to protect what is inside from the outside world, but instead is meant to protect the outside world from what is inside of it. This explanation follows Jevil’s line of reasoning in Chapter 1 and we know that Jevil has been in contact with a shadow crystal so…
I don’t know if there is any actual truth to this theory, it’s just a random thought I figured I would post.
Interesting possibility!
Great video man, as per usual! The new schedule honestly just seems better for your mental health which I respect. Burnout can be super tiring lmao
Also thanks a million for the compliments on my art, that has single-handedly made my day :)
It was my pleasure Byran! It makes my day every time I see such wonderful art from people like you! Me giving you some praise is the least I can do! Thank you very much for blessing me with your work!
Small problem with that being Gaster, Gaster speaks in all Caps every time he speaks
True. Although there's no reason to think he couldn't change that if he wanted to, as lots of other characters change their capitalization/font.
If so, that one's hell of a twisty detail on Toby's part. xD
@@JaruJaruJ woah hey its super cool you still respond to comments! :) but yeah that's what I was thinking. darker = light
no cap if I were you I'd make a deltarune channel, I think you cover the lore better than anyone else on here
You're too kind. x)
1: Revival may just mean you revived the world since the area the Dark Fountain is open in, transform into said Dark World
2: Not much to say here, dont really have any ideas
3:My personal theory is the rumor of the Shelter, is that Ice-E is in there, as Kris told Noelle that Ice-E was real, but maybe Kris saw something much worst, and decided to lie that it was Ice-E
4: I saw another comment, but "Candodge" is totally the "Warn" mechanic of Chapter 1, and might just be copy pasted for every Chapter 1 enemy, which is why Lancer has it
5: Not much for me to share about this either
(Original comment) This is seriously the most underrated Undertale/Deltarune Theories/Discussion video channel
They are some of the most well-made things I have watched
I will edit this comment once I finish the video to add onto it with anything I may know
i think revival's first meaning symbolizes kris leveling up after sealing the fountain, as we he everyone is level 2 in chapter 2.
Thank you very much for the incredibly kind words and encouragement. It means a lot. x)
snd_revival, in a less interesting explanation, could just be named as such for how it sounds like
It is as if something powerful was rising up, perhaps Toby made this sound before he knew where it would be used and he just gave it a fitting name
Maybe he was going to use it for some scene, but ended up using it for this.
