It's been brought to my attention that my Goofy-impression at the end came across as me mocking and insulting people who believe in that particular Chara theory. That was NOT my intent, but I do completely understand why it comes across that way. I intended it to just help you understand how simplistic of a theory I view it to be, and why that results in me not being particularly inclined to believe in it. But I inadvertently ended up disrespecting and insulting a section of this community, and for that I apologize. I sincerely did not intend to hurt anyone's feelings or come across as rude or inconsiderate. It was just a poorly thought-out gag. Once again, I sincerely apologize. Y'all have a fantastic January!
its perfectly fine. the chara theory seems too far fetched for my taste anyways. Also, while i do like the idea of kris trying to bring their brother back to life, i personally disagree that the demon possesing them is asriel. instead it could be possible that this summoning gone wrong could have been what forged the connection between kris and the player (aka the red soul). we dont know exactly how long the soul has been controlling kris for, but it could explain how player is able to control kris's body, a power that is rather demonic and supernatural in nature.
Yo what yuh apologizing for? You entitled to feel a certain way about whatever you want. It's human. We're not robots. Expressions are meant to be expressed.
@@slimgrim3607 yeah I don't object to the asriel theory, I think if he elaborated it would make more sense(like maybe kris got close to getting asriel back but instead it backfired and asriel went into kris or whatever I thought of 34 seconds ago). but I like my own slightly altered idea of yours where kris got possessed by us instead(which I want to elaborate on but I keep forgetting my theories aaaa)
I think moreso than anything, it's far more likely that WE, the PLAYER, and just HUMANS in general are what are being referred to as demons, since it's only ever human characters that even BEGIN to reference anything along those lines. it's also safe to assume this due to KRIS of all characters, literally an alternate timeline version of Chara, being the one and only character who's ACTUALLY POSESSED by none other than u s. This truly seems to imply that his summoning attempts were genuinely successful, seeing as we literally would not be playing the game otherwise... I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. . .
I'm pretty sure I remember Rudy saying at some point that Noelle was scared of Santa Claus, which paints the "hot female Santas in your area" thing in a whole different light. Seems like Noelle just keeps being attracted to the things she finds scary.
Something you didn't mention: aside from buying HTDD, Noelle doesn't "accidentally" click on anything. She _fully intends_ to find hot female santas in her area.
I always figured Ralsei apologizing about deleting the internet was supposed to act as a mirror to how Asriel apologized about Kris tossing Yoshi down the pit. Both are very hyperbolic statements that show each character behaving in a panic after coming to an exaggerated conclusion due to misplaced guilt over not quite understanding what happened and fearing the worst.
@@thegnarledpirate9198 That's the best part. I just interpreted it that way the very first time that I saw the dialogue. The fanbase really is just our own special kind of strange lol
I feel like Ralsei's thing isn't so much a hidden desire for destruction, but that his attempts to make friends will somehow spur a disaster beyond his control or reckoning.
That makes sense. He’s never had friends before, so I could see him being anxious about royally screwing it up. It might also be worth mentioning that the only reason he made the friends he has now is because the world is under threat of being destroyed.
I think that Lancer filled his search history with things about guns and violence and stuff, as a prank, and Ralsei kept seeing ads about that stuff and was like "why??? why am i getting that stuff???
Y’know I thought Susie’s reaction to Asriel’s room was that she wanted to beat him up but thinking on it now…she is totally gonna roast Asriel. Just complete linguistic execution, no coming back from it, his lil sib’s bestie knows she’s his type and there is no escape from the utter hell of a razzing coming his way.
Maybe Ralsei's pop-ups with the good things ending up with horrible things, like clicking an add about guns, makes him seem to try to do good things but they always end up causing bad things to happen instead
Thats what i though of as well, as his character so far has been the type to try and help. Turning his suddenly evil would seem kinda wierd, but having him do something he thinks is good and than turn out to be bad would aline well with his character
@@niwimsz The ominous door really makes it seem like we're gonna have to seal the Grand Fountain at some point, or maybe at least on the Weird Route? It'd make sense for that to create conflict, though. Additionally, the prophecy dictates the world is only saved after the Roaring starts, which might mean he'd, ironically, be kinda up for it under the right circumstances? If for some reason it seems like it'll lead to whatever he thinks "banishing the Angel's Heaven" is, but I feel like at this point, Susie may well be the kinda gal to oppose to that idea, but I dunno, kinda feel like the Roaring's bound to happen so I'm not sure where that'd fit in the story. Why Toby and his acolytes have to put so many conflicting thoughts about funny game in my brain, man 😭
i don’t think asriel isn’t returning the dragons book because of having a type. i think what happened is as follows: - asriel was always shown to be very imaginative and artsy, especially as seen on his computer where he seems to have doodles and concept art - as a child, asriel took the book out from the library due to the title of it, being none the wiser. - as he read it, or as time passed, he realized when the book was actually for, and became much too embarrassed to return it
I don't know if someone else has already commented this but doesn't Bratty tell Kris that Asriel kissed her during a game of truth and dare? While she isn't purple last I checked she is definitely some sort of lizard. So Asriel is a scalie confirmed.
I feel as though, the "peaceful intentions, violent outcome" theme with ralsei's ads is indicative of the player's (sometimes) desire for violence despite ralsei's pleas
@@gonzalomeadearanda5751 the whole weird route, and other numerous ways we can displease ralsei by choosing something that he doesn't like? maybe, alternative dialogue for not sparing anyone in chapter one? or, perchance, attacking the ralsei dummy instead of listening to ralsei in the battle tutorial, and then tossing the manual?
@@gonzalomeadearanda5751 I feel like in later chapters Ralsei's kindness would either be exploited, or he'll slip up and accidentally cause more harm than good.
Im think that the common thread between all of ralseis ad interactions is that ralsei is trying to click on something that is innocent and then getting ''tricked'' into encountering something dubious. If anything i think this would be hinting to him having poor judgement and being innocent. Or his digital footprint is actually just mad sus
I think it may say what'll happen with Ralsei Maybe he always have good intentions to do something, but they end up creating more chaos Maybe he's the one to open most of the dark world, we know that when a fountain is opened, it creates a world, with people, and expecially, friends. Maybe that's why he insist on Kris and Susie to befriend everyone and get them to castle town Maybe he wants to feel less lonely, have friends ect, and so tries to make friends, but ends up doing horrible things (aka possibly DOOM THE WORLD) just to achieve that goal
@@TrainsTer-91 He has more knowledge about dark worlds than any other character we've interacted with so far, so I think at least a little suspicion is warranted just based on that.
My answer to the Kris Occult/Demonic connection is way more mundane. I think it’s Tobys setup for Kris and Catti to have a friendship (something that seems to be implied already through Cattis dialogue) and a setup for Catti to join us in a dark world adventure. Basically this part of Kris character is in a similar vein to Kris and Berdlys Gamer rivalry connecting those 2 together. I can definitely see Catti and Jockington in a future dark world as a repeat of chapter 2s formula
catti and jockington also have face sprites during dialogue. the only other characters with face sprites are returning undertale characters and the main characters.
Just a quick thing to mention, if I'm right, the Demon A, B, C and D stuff was only added in a later update to Undertale, and replaced a message originally asking the reader to not post what they find in the code on the internet. So with that in mind, it specifically brings to mind the idea that the "demon", or perhaps just Toby, have accepted that this will be a series where people do whatever it takes for lore and information, and has adjusted the presentation of such things accordingly.
Wasn't the request not to post stuff part of a sprite sheet? Also it specifically said to wait a year, due to spoilers. Then said that it'd be cool to post to Spriter's Resource.
@@AltName7 Nah, I looked it up, I meant the one about "don't post "unused stuff" online, it's probably in the game" which I presume meant stuff like the FUN value rooms and such. The last original message called people out on being "impatient for answers".

@@AltName7 there were 3 different files in the game that warned against spoiling, all of which were replaced when people ignored them. one was an image file, one was a sound file, and one was a text file. the text file was replaced by the demon text
Hear me out, Kris is the Chara-style text that interrupts Gaster's opening sequence. Kris inadvertently interfered with something far more calculated, and now is caught in the crossfire. They have what they wanted... sort of, but now they're getting roped into whatever is happening behind the scenes as Gaster (presumably) is course-correcting in order to solve their error.
Noelle actively uses the internet to try to find Dess. We know this because she responded to the spam emails that we now know as Spamton that had to do with a "free friend find her"
12:53 maybe after searching December Holiday didn't give relevant results, she searched "December Holiday girl" to try and clarify, only resulting in further misunderstanding
the "deleted the entire internet" thing could be a reference to how when the dark fountain was created, the internet was down. this could mean ralsei has knowledge of computers, but not much of the internet.
"Noelle clicked on a link for creepy game glitch compilations!" "At the time of Chapter 2, this line didn't make much sense to us, as we didn't have the context to understand such things." ...I thought we did already? Noelle likes scary things, like horror movies. She talks about it with Susie, who she also thinks of as a fun kind of scary. It's not out of the question that she would already have that kinda interest. The Sweepstakes just reinforced that. ...Side note, I never thought a popup ad would confirm the existence of other humans in Deltarune. Especially not a "hot woman 4 U" bait one.
I'm referring to the fact that other humans aren't dead and/or banished to some Underground analog, @@personexisting123. It proved that. That book could've contained pictures of _ancient_ humans for all we know. Either the human-monster war never happened, or it turned out differently. The poppups confirmed that other humans _are around_ in Deltarune, to whatever extent.
Yeah, also he could just have an interest in knives without wanting to use them for anything, like some people might have an interest in diseases but that doesn't mean they're gonna make biological weapons.
@@JaruJaruJ Hah I get what you mean, but still. Also, about one of ralsei's ads, with the castle and the bazooka. If you look reeeeeally deep into it, you could make some argument about the futility of his actions, or something? About how Ralsei wants to have friends, and wants to build up the hometown, but it's futile. Wether it's an accident, or a product of his won actions (like clicking on the wrong ad), the heroes will always lose in the timeloop?
When Ralsei thinks he accidentally deleted the internet, he says "I... I didn't mean to do it... I... I'm sorry!!! I repent!!!" I find this interesting because: (1) Alvin mentions that sin and confession aren't part of the monster religion and he seems to be the only one who still acknowledges the idea, and (2) When Spamton is asked about the Knight one of the things he interjects with after mentioning communion is to say "No, I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to --", which sounds kinda similar to what Ralsei said.
This makes me think that maybe at some point Ralsei (while still learning about Save Files) could’ve accidentally deleted the one he was in (assuming something else would happen) and has since been trying to get things back to the way they were in this save file. Which could explain how he knew our names when he first met us.
Not surprising for Ralsei to reflect Asriel like this; Asriel's the one Father Alvin is talking about when saying there is no sin in monster religion. And I believe that doctrine will become a big deal in the story, too. It fits very well with the story to add an element of "you can't repent, there is no forgiveness", everyone from Susie to Noelle to Asgore to Kris may have reasons to feel that way.
I think the idea of Kris successfully summoning a demon, and that demon being us, the player/red soul, is much more interesting than it just being Chara
What if Kris summoned Chara, who then interrupts Gaster's experiment with the Player soul and the Vessel. Then they discard the Vessel and force the soul into Kris. And what if Chara takes the Vessel for themself?
I saw a really cool fancomic of Kris and Catti summoning Gaster, who gave Kris the red SOUL. Not sure if I believe this entirely, but it was a really cool comic!
@@kristinevanyperen5445 It seems unlikely that Gaster put the soul in Kris on purpose. The "will now be discarded" is in font and lack of capitalization that is uncharacteristic of Gaster.
There's a key thing you missed about the first Noelle add about hot female Santa's. In one of Rudy's dialogues, he mentions how Noelle is afraid of Santa Claus, and also this is the only ad interaction in the game where it doesn't say that this was an accident. So why would she purposely click on something she's afraid of? Well, they're *female* Santas, which means she's interested in females she's afraid of, and you know how scary Susie is, yet she still has a crush on her. This really makes you think if this is a mish mash of two things she's interested like you think, because it was efficient at getting her to click on it. Ladies and gentlemen, this is proof that Noelle's a masochist.
Your analysis of Noelle's and Asriel's searches just proves that Deltarune is a Susie harem game. Angels, vessels, Roaring? Bah! PURPLE DRAGON LADIES, YEAH!!
@Spamton G Spamton™ I'm pretty sure [[Hochi Mama]] is just how Spamton's censorship makes him say Noelle's name. We know that from lines all across Snowgrave and in the Sweepstakes when he answers the question about Noelle not being his mother.
Oh yeah another funny thing about the Female Santa ad is I think Rudy says Noelle is scared of Santa. Tying in to her being interested/attracted to scary things.
I'm sure others have mentioned this, but the lines from demon a-d are lines that have replaced Toby's initial warning to players about posting spoilers/secrets about Undertale. So those lines are technically directed towards us, the player, which is interesting as it makes you wonder what Toby might've been planning on the very rare case that the secrets in Undertale stayed secret and there was no need to use those texts. Wait, if the Demon lines replace Toby's lines... then could the Demon be Toby? Not just Toby as well, but us, the observers/players who are looking at these characters and watch as well as manipulate them without them knowing? And if that IS the case, then could the demon summoning be the act of giving your soul to the player and be essentially possessed? This would mean that Chara was also a "player", perhaps Toby himself in some weird, meta way. I mean, he MADE Undertale, he has probably erased many things, created stuff, changed them over and over again, no different than an Undertale player killing an enemy one run and sparing them the other, doing everything to see every option.
out of all the characters, chara is the one most likely meant to represent us the player, which is why theyre the one we name at the beginning. toby fox has a deleted tweet he made where he hinted that the fallen child should be named after ourselves, and most people are likely to do that anyway. people got spoiled on chara being the true name so when people did a genocide run, thats the name they used. so most people kind of missed the implication that chara is supposed to be representive of us. the line "that feeling? thats me, [your name here]" hits a lot harder when you dont use the true name. plus flowey using the player name when he asks us not to reset loses its meta element if you didnt name the character after yourself anyway my point here is that when chara calls themself a demon its kind of a double edged sword since we, as chara's reflection, are implied to also be a demon by association. which is fair since they say this post genocide after we kill everyone. chara explicitly tells us theyre the feeling the player gets when our stats rise. in a way, chara is who a player becomes when theyre playing a video game. when they say "move on to the next world" they mean move on to the next game. as long as the player continues to play games "chara" will still be with them
Everyone knows the Genocide route dialouge as (paraphrased) "Greetings, my name is Chara... I am the demon that comes when people call its name." But Chara's name is supposed to be the one we self-identify with. Chara is both a seperate entity, and a further manifestation of the player.
Wait, if WE are the demon, and we are possessing Kris, then maybe that explains why they are so interested in Church? Especially confessing "sins", if they aren't completely in control of their actions.
To add to Asriel's reptilian interests, he seems to have an interest in Yoshi. Toriel says in chapter 1 that he liked the "green, egg laying lizard" from "Super Smashing Fighters". He may even have had a Yoshi-centred birthday... and of course, Father Alvin mentioned Asriel confessing to the "sin" of dropping Yoshi into a pit inside the game. Bratty, a green crocodile, also claims to have kissed Asriel in a game of truth-or-dare once. So, coupled with the suggestive image of a dragon on Asriel's library book, there are definitely a lot of lizards in Asriel's past...
Ok, a few things about ralseis ads that could be foreshadowed here. Because whilst both of them are very different, they both have the same recurring theme. Ralsei wants friends, ends up doing something bad. First, the gun one, I believe this could be a foreshadowing of his entire arc in the game, possibly. We all know ralsei constantly encourages us not to fight, and to make as many friends as possible. So, what if, once a ton of darkness are gathered in castle town after out adventures, and something bad happens to them as a result. And the "deleting the internet" thing strikes me as extremely interesting, as ralsei, whatever it may be, has some sort of connection to asriel. So perhaps this could be a reference to asriel erasing a timeline? Or maybe something he might inadvertently cause later on that had good intentions? I know I perhaps have my tinfoil on a little to tight. But personally, this little bit of information pushed me away from the ralsei is bad gang, I totally believe he's scheming something, but thinks it will ultimately be a good thing, but gets people hurt.
yeah thats how ive been viewing ralsei too. whatever ralsei is up to he definitely believes is for best for everyone, but the result will likely hurt someone. my theory is that ralsei is hiding the fact that he's aware of the player controlling kris because the soul that we control is necessary for closing the fountains and fulfilling the prophecy, which is essentially ralsei's reason for existing. he's ignoring the pain that kris is enduring because accomplishing his goal will ultimately save the world. i think ralsei's conversation with kris during the boat ride hints that he might be having second thoughts about this though. especially if you respond with "..." when prompted. he seems really relieved when kris responds with a "kris-like" answer
@@gristen It sounded more like to me that Ralsei was scrambling to get back on track as if nothing was wrong, like he can't acknowledge Kris ever acting strange so he goes really over the top on _just how very normal_ that was, like, he looked rather panicked in that exchange. Then again, Kris _does_ generally quiet even without any possessing business out of the equation, so maybe it was genuine, but it's still so odd how he talks about it.
@@Estra_Estra yea i can see where youre coming from, but considering how he was seriously reflecting on what being friends with someone actually means a few sentences before im more inclined to believe he was being genuine here. like i said ralsei probably thinks whatever hes doing is for the good of everyone and actually really cares about them, but he's never had a friend before and is only just realizing that he doesnt really know how to be one. as the game goes on he'll probably have to learn that the ends DONT justify the means and that no matter how noble your intentions, nothing is worth hurting someone you care about
Still on the boat that Kris is only possessed by the player, and all of Kris' meddlings is either a cause or an effect of the player's control of Kris. There's a lot of emphasis on the fact that Kris led an entire life before we showed up, and the player is interfering with this life. There's also a lot of dichotomy between heaven and hell, which correlates a lot to the concepts of reality and fiction. Or more specifically our reality as the player, and the obscurities fiction and non existence of which the likes of Gaster and Dess reside.
definitely agree with this. especially about the link between heaven and reality. the end goal of the game is to "banish the angel's heaven" and theres been some heavy association between noelle and angels. thanks to snowgrave, id say its pretty likely that we are the "heaven" since we're able to command the "angel". the game will probably end when kris can figure out how to get us out of their body
@@Quinhala11 I kind of agree. I think the player just influences a third party who controls Kris, similar to the player influencing Chara & Frisk while neither Frisk nor Chara was actually the player. Otherwise, it makes no sense that the voice influencing Kris displays such specific motives & behavior that are so unlikely to line up with the player's motives & behavior or that the voice does things without being told to by the player, like calling for Noelle's help during the Snowgrave Spamton Neo fight.
IMO i dont think kris has romantic feelings for susie rather she's the only one they actually trust and dont have bad memories with, and even if they did see the others positively susie is still their best friend of the group. Noelle is an old childhood friend who we can assume has some bad memories attached to her presence (the shelter/mysterious doors, December's disappearance, memories of asriel which could be difficult depending on what is actually happening with them, potentially knowing about noelle's powers or having trauma related to snowgrave) and they've drifted apart and aren't as close even if kris still cares for her as a person, and ralsei clearly knows more than they let on and has at least 2 conversations with kris that the player isnt allowed to see which could have impacted their relationship, and their resemblance to asriel could again cause weird feelings. susie doesnt have any trauma or anything attached to them for kris and is just genuinely their best and closest friend. this explains why they enjoy their tea the most and are less uncomfortable saying they would go with them to the festival. tbh i also would just kind of hate it from a story perspective lol it would kind of ruin their vibe and true genuine friendship and could make things awkward and less like..wholesome i guess? and i much prefer noelle x susie lol. plus kris is the only human in town, clearly doesnt have an affinity for humans, and probably just wants love and romance like anyone else and could potentially be insecure about their ability to get it possibly because its stigmatized or less common to be in a monster x human relationship, meaning they have to specifically seek it out rather than go about normal dating routes (like dating apps/sites specifically for people of a certain religion or age group), or they feel like they dont fit in or belong in the town as much or fit like monster beauty standards lmfao and are looking up reassurance that it is possible for them to find love, which especially makes sense for their age when its common to be insecure about that stuff.
Fun fact about FinFin, the character that Poppup was based on. FinFin was a character created by Osamu Tezuka's son, Macoto Tezuka. If you don't know who Osamu Tezuka is, it's difficult to summarize his immense cultural impact in Japan but I will try. Osamu Tezuka is the man responsible for popularizing big expressive eyes in anime and is behind one the the first anime to air weekly and to be dubbed in English, Astro Boy. His works also helped eliminate the stigma that manga and anime were only for children, since adults liked reading his manga too. So ... weird 3D pet simulator game made by the son of one of the most important people to Japanese culture. Cool.
Since we don't know what a demon is in the Deltarune universe could it be assumed that the player is maybe the demon or that someone like Gaster made a deal with Kris during the demon summoning and had the player take over the body of Kris? Maybe Gaster convinced Kris that accepting a "Demon" into his soul would allow him to eventually solve Kris's problem.
This is a random thing but it kind of annoys me when people say that Noelle didn’t care about Kris and was only concerned with simping for Susie. She said earlier in the blog post that she felt “genuinely sick” seeing what was happening to Kris, wanting to help them but just being too scared. Even at the end with the line about the apple shampoo, she still was actually trying to help Kris even if there’s some simping mixed in. Still, she definitely does have some kind of rose-tinted glasses she’s seeing Susie that she’ll probably have to take off in a future chapter. Great analysis btw.
I honestly like to think that Ralsei's "gun AD" is a way of representing his desire to make friends with everyone around him, being too naive to know that there are people who are pure evil and don't want to be friends with him. something similar to the battle with the King of Spades, in which Ralsei proposes to be his friend but the King doesn't care about his friendship and only wants to follow the Knight's plans, almost killing him and the others in the process.
OK I WAS ROLLING MY EYES AT FIRST BUT THE ASRIEL CONNECTION IN NOELLE'S SECTION GOES EVEN DEEPER. BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT SPECIFICALLY BRATTY WAS HIS FIRST KISS. AND HE WAS LOOKING FOR CHICKS TO PICK UP WITH PIZZAPANTS. IMAGINE THIS IS THE REASON HE'S IN COLLEGE OR SOMETHING ALL OF THIS IS JUST BECAUSE DUDE WANTED TO GET BITCHES I-
What if… What if Kris witnessed December dying, and couldn’t bring themselves to tell Noelle about it, and instead tried to resurrect her with rituals? But then they accidentally let her get possessed by a demon, and now that demon is running around as the knight, using her body, trying to cause the roaring? And now Kris definitely couldn’t tell Noelle about this, and she still only thinks that her sister is “missing.”?
I don't think Dess died, but I do think she got stuck in some sort of between space as represented by the lines in the unused code and in Spamton's Fear dialogue. I do think that she's also the Knight too, and that the space between also contains Gaster, Chara and the Goner Vessel.
I personally disagree with the space between conataing Chara, the Goner Vessel, and Gaster, or at least the Deltarune version of Gaster. The undertale Gaster? Yeah, probably in the space between. The Deltarune Gaster is almost certainly in the bunker, imo, and I believe Kris and Dess went to explore the bunker, only for both Kris and Dess to get Gaster'd, with only Kris escaping. I also feel the three most likely Knight candidates are Kris, Dess, and the big G himself. In fact, I believe there are two knights: a white knight and a black knight. I believe Kris is the white knight, opening dark fountains in an attempt to save Dess, whereas the black knight, or the Roaring Knight, is evil and trying to cause the roaring
Have you thought about the fact that the demon Kris summoned is The Player? Lets think about it this way, Chara is saying "You, the Player, the demon that comes when people call its name." All of Chara's lines are about what action The Player chose to take. The Demonx file is all about what name you call yourself when you play. Also, what better way to describe the introduction of Deltarune, than you being summoned to play it? We don't have a vessel of our own, so we possess Kris. Kris IS being possessed, but that stops happening when they take us out.
What if it's both? The Player's soul was being used in Gaster's experiment with the Vessel as we see on the Twitter and in the game's intro. But then another voice that seems to be Chara comes in, discards the vessel and forces the Player soul into Kris. So what if Kris summoned Chara, who then interrupted Gaster's experiment and put our soul in Kris?
I know this comment is a year old, but some of the Undertale theories are killing me. Chara NEVER said that. This phrase goes like this: I am "Chara's name". "Chara's name". The demon that comes when people call its name. It doesn't matter when. It doesn't matter where. Time after time, I will appear.
@@NOTaNaBC What I meant by what I said is, in 90% of rpgs, when you get to change the protags name, most people will choose their own name. Think Frisk looking in the mirror. "Its You!" vs "Its me, Player name". By the end of the Pacifist route, Frisk, the Player, and The Human Child are all defined as three separate characters, but by the end of the Genocide route, The Human Child is a stand in for the Player and The Players Mentality. The Demons name Is Your Name technically, and a lot of people seem to forget that
@@remberedink I'm not sure that's true. Chara says "you and I are not the same". And Chara doesn't say "everyone called "name" is a demon." They say "My name is "name". I am a demon"
"Deleting the internet" what if Ralsei is just an amalgam of Kris memory for Toriel and Asriel? Also the violent pop outs could mean Asriel was a troublemaker like Kris when he was younger and accidentally got in to some sketchy sites
Remember that these characters are not actually directly responsible for the ads they are shown, but their search histories might lead us in that direction. (sorry for long comment lol) Susie: Her ads can seem more straightforward. Obviously she's wanting to eat food, and wield a chainsaw, so she'd be shown those ads. The word processor thing is just her inability to use technology. Ralsei: The 'lightners 4 darkners' line, in my opinion, is just indicative of the fact that the Internet tends to ruin everything. Ralsei probably searched for something like "how to make friends with lightners" and this was shown to him. I'm doubtful that he actually feels that way about Kris and Susie. The chainsaw thing is interesting, though. It might show that he did search for something violent in the past (the innocent answer is research). Same with the demolition; it could be just research, or it could have a darker meaning. Noelle: Is a lesbian who likes Christmas. That's the meaning of the first one. The second one is a result of her interest in Dragon Blazers and theories/glitches. The third is probably her interest in Susie again. Kris: We really haven't seen any other humans in Hometown or anywhere else, meaning that Kris is surrounded by monsters, and would likely be attracted to them. Or we can go with the innocent reason of the Internet twisting a 'how to make friends with monsters' search. Susie is the monster Kris has been spending the most time with, so it might make sense for them to have a slight (albeit hidden) crush on her. Second ad: We know Kris has a knife. And it seems like they are interested in dark tones, if the Snowgrave route is anything to go off of. Toriel is pretty protective of Kris and probably didn't let them have a knife for a while, so Kris turned to...other options. The third one goes even deeper into Kris' darker interests, and we know they own a pair of devil horns. It's possible Kris was looking up horn options to look like his family and the Internet twisted it, but looking like his family could just be Kris' justification to his mother for wanting those horns.

On the hardest days, please try to give yourself more patience and just allow yourself to get through however you can. I know it's not easy, and I know that these times can feel overwhelmingly hopeless, but there are always tiny good things that make life a little easier to exist in. You are absolutely not alone, however isolated or afraid you may ever feel at a given time. Your existence is meaningful, as all life is, and time brings changes we cannot even imagine. I. hope more kind, supportive, gentle people and moments find their way to you. Good luck out there!
jaru, it is 11:33 in the night rn. i have a sleeping problem so here i am scrolling on yt, and then i get this video explaining how crucial poppups are to the lore of deltarune. see you in the morning!
The second Ralsei ad is definitely something a younger Asriel would do. I imagine this happened in Undertale and Chara, being the chaotic older sibling they are, kept up the ruse by purposefully shutting off the wifi whenever Asriel tried to use the home computer.
Wait until chapter 3 of Deltarune and we see Ralsei has a gun collection in his room. Susie: Huh didn't expect you of all people to collect guns Ralsei: Well why not? Susie: Because you have only used a scarf in combat this whole time. Ralsei: Well naturally, I don't want to hurt anyone too badly. Susie:So, wait why do you even have this many guns. Ralsei: Because they're cool Susie: Huh, can't argue with that
Or Asriel didn't want to return the book out of emberassment after getting older, or he didn't want to return it because he thought it was too naughty for the library. And his room could have easily just been full of nerdy stuff. Additionally if there's a popup for lightners for darkners when there's no lightners in the dark world for who knows how long, I really doubt 'humans 4 monsters' necessarily implies it wasn't made up on the spot for Kris. I doubt hot female santa advertisements are too common after all. . .
If Kris DID summon a demon... It's ralsei. They failed to create a harem and now kris is just the side character in Susie's harem anime, with her being the protag.
Maybe the "destroying buildings with bazookas" ties to the fact that, despite being a good guy, Ralsei helping Kris seal the Dark Fountain ends up making the other Dark Worlds disappear. Like when Lancer says the Card Castle is "Allllll gone !"
26:45 You the player are the demon, chara is the symbolization of the player's side which wants a 100% completion by doing everything you can in a game even if there a insane boos fight so chara is a part or the entire player's character in undertale's lore and we know chara is a demon so there is a chance Kris summoned you and you controlled his body to beat the game. Like if you want Jaru to see this theory
I do think its strange that Kris' "Monsters 4 Humans" "in ur area" ad is separated by 2 different quotes. It makes me feel that it might be a case of the algorithm pulling from 2 separate interests.
I like how Susie is the only one without some sort of dating/love ad. (Which I very gladly use for my headcanon that she's part of the ace spectrum... 0 _0...)
Wake up babe, new JaruJaru upload Edit: there probably is more to it, but I think the demon summoning ad is a reference to the Megami Tensei series, which heavily inspired Toby Fox and in particular the Talk/Act function. The game series began as an adaptation of the Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei novels by Aya Nishitani and one of the things the series has maintained is the Demon Summoning Program. Although I find your theory fascinating, I just wanted to throw something in as a Megatennist.
As a budding theorist, I think that there is indeed some lore about these popups, at least for Kris. I don't think Asriel is dead though. The game says very clearly that he went to college, and also lacks a gravestone, just like December. As a person who likes memes, I cannot stop thinking about Ralsei's gun ads. It's so funny.
On the points with kris and noelle wanting susie, these two characters seem to have alot in common. Kris and noelle are outcasts, they have little to no friends, and both are likely not afraid of certain scary stuff (i.e. kris laughs at susie when susie threatened them, and noelle just wants to be closer to susie)
16:04 oh hell nah, from the alphys saying she can't give you advice on that to susie telling you "she'll tell you later" to now asriel being a canonical gooner???
Ralsei's poppus are extremely interesting and I very much believe it could be foreshadowing. Even if it's very figurative. Seems like all of them revolve around Ralsei trying to make friends, only to end up causing problems or accidentally seeing stuff he didn't want. That could be foreshadowing Ralsei potentially making some wrong choices in an attempt to keep in touch with Kris and Susie. I'm gonna take a WILD guess and say that mybe that desperate need to make friends turns out to be what eventually causes the Roaring, indirectly through some weird turn of events.
Here's another way to think of it. Kris summons Chara, Chara interrupts Gaster's experiment with the Vessel and the Player soul. Then the soul is forced into Kris instead.
ralsei has an extensive collection of firearms used exclusively for plinking in the disturbingly large target range behind the castle. he can tell you about the history and construction of every gun in significant detail if you ask
15:57 doesn't toriel remember susie from kindergarten or little school/whatever that other classroom for little kids is, i might be misremembering but i recall toriel saying she remembers susie's name at the end of chapter 2 in the house section, that'd mean susie's been here for... at least quite a while, again, not sure, might check later
gaster is just some guy that got warped out of the space time continuum because he science'd too hard. hes just a freaky lil science dude that haunts us from inside the game's code because he has nothing better to do ever since he stopped existing
@@gristen Well, yeah, but what if all of this demon talk & darkness & the Angel all have to do with earthbound somehow…I mean, Toby got his grubby little paws on Nintendo…he could ask them for permission for this plot point & also a tie in to the original dragon from Pokémon b/w & b2/w2. Or at least have characters that resemble them in some way that Gaster is tied to/is one of. Who knows really.
4:49 _madness alert but hear me out:_ What if Ralsei really wants to have friends but he feels like his usual self can't do that so the cute bunny is the facade he relies on and the machine gun is the real personality? Susie speaks about how they're targeting their weaknesses and Ralsei's biggest flaw is that he doesn't even know how does one act "ralsei like". Hell, what if his name _isn't Ralsei_ and he just researched about Asriel and acts like him to please Kris? *WHAT IF HIS NAME IS DANIEL????*
My main theory is that Ralsei will get more savage each chapter. Chapter one he was fluffy perfect boy, chapter two he's conflicted about who he is, so it's a fine line of progression.
That part with Ralsei being sad about "deleting the entire internet" does seem a bit out of character.... HOWEVER, it very strongly reminds me of Asriel's "confessions" with father Alvin. This could be another hint at a link between the two and the nature of dark worlds.
I honestly this the reason kris prefers being around Susie is because out of all the characters in the game she’s the only one who has the most freedom out of any of them. Their are tons of moments in chapter 1 and 2 that show her making her own choices going against any others. In chapter 1 she denies giving kris a choice say “your choices don’t matter”, she immediately leaves the group when she asked about the exit, joins lancer when things aren’t going her way and even does everything herself when she leaves her jail. In chapter 2, when fighting Sweet Cap’n Cakes she learns her own act and even forces Ralsei to learn it, denies kris a choice again when going into the cyber world and choosing between her and Ralsei, and none of our choices doing anything in the scene with her and Noelle. When compared to Kris and other members, they always seem to listen to whatever we do no matter what. Kris has almost not free will when we control him, Rasiel always listen to what we do and even encourages us to use Act with them and Susie, and Noelle completely listen to us during the normal and snowgrave routes. I feel like Susie is gonna be a key character in Kris’s story since so much of it revolves around freedom, and Susie has the most out of any character.
With the demon text, how you said it sounded like a conversation, it reminded me of when you first boot up the game of deltarune "Are you there?" (Greetings) "Are we connected?" (You have made yourself clear) "Excellent " "Truly excellent " "Now we may began" (Understood) (I, your humblest servant, shall follow you to the utmost)
Every time it's mentioned that Kris "stares at Susie and makes her flustered" I just imagine them doing the fucking... Zoolander lightskin stare, and I've been continuously laughing about it for five minutes.
I do find ralsei's ads pretty interesting, specially the one of him deleting the browser. It could hint of him making a bad choice and regretting it in the future.
So with Kris being into Susie, that brings the number of characters to crush on her up to 3 (Noelle, Berdly and now Kris), which is officially enough to make it a harem lol
I think interesting thing to draw about demons is they can be interpreted as an antithesis of angel. This could go into a number of places, so I won't linger on this connection, however I've got a question: where in the code do you find these lines? Cause placement can be very implicative of something. For example if it's near the end of genocide checks, the lines can be interpreted pretty much only one way.
Interesting. The Demon text is in its own section that, early in UNDERTALE's life, was used to warn code-miners not to spoil the game. However, later on, the content of this section was replaced with the demon text. Or at least, I THINK that's how it played out. Don't quote me on that. xD
@@JaruJaruJ youre correct. the demon text is one of the first lines of dialog you see in the text files because the spoiler warning that was originally there was meant to be read by data miners first. it was replaced with the demon text after people obviously ignored the warning to not spoil people. toby using chara's voice here seems to be him likening the act of spoiling, to what we did in genocide-an act that requires chara to berate us for our actions. you can read the original spoiler warning in the unused text section on thecuttingroomfloor
11:30 I was thinking that it could be just a joke, but ralsei clicking on a castle and instead blowing up buildings with a bazooka could be refering to how they've been sealing the fountains of dark worlds, turning them to stone, and taking the inhabitants to Castle Town.
In terms of Kris trying to accomplish something involving demons... we already have a character and don't need to literally kill Asriel. Dess. She is an abnormality, she vanished, Asgore takes blame but her father knows he isn't at fault. The implication seems to be Dess was lost in the Dark World, completely vanished without a trace after being with Asgore. After all we know Toriel only acts like she does when she considers someone a murderer.
thank you. it drives me crazy how theorists go out of their way to not include dess. shes one of the biggest mysteries in the game right now and everyone just keeps talking about gaster and chara and other random nonsense. i think kris was the one most likely to be with dess at the time of her disappearance tho. asgore used to be the police chief but he probably got fired when he failed to find the mayor's missing daughter, which ultimately led to their divorce
I agree with this up until your conclusion about Toriel. The entire reason Toriel left Asgore in UNDERTALE was because he DIDN'T want to kill - take the fallen human's soul to cross the barrier like Asriel did and gather enough human souls outside to break it - instead opting to wait a very, very long time to gather the required souls from humans who eventually got into the underground on accident. Toriel was disgusted with Asgore's indecisiveness in light of Asriel's death and how he prolonged his people's suffering. Her many years of solitude in the Ruins warped her view on him even further while her own attitude mellowed down. Now, we don't know why the two split in deltarune so far... but I can imagine poor handling of Dess's disappearance might be what made Toriel equally disgusted with him.
@@Wondercrow no no toriel was disgusted at him for killing. she only pointed that out because he was a hypocrite on top of being a murderer, which made him twice as pathetic in her eyes. she wouldve rathered him kill no one, otherwise she wouldve been the one killing them when they fell into the ruins
Considering how many connections Burger Pants has to hell, it seems to me that Kris summoned Ice-E through a demonic ritual, which perhaps was what dragged Dess into the dark world. Asgore took all the blame to protect Kris. I am a big subscriber to HBC's Ice-E theory.....
15:49 I think it's much simpler than that. Asriel is just too embarassed to return the book. Not that I can blame him. Coming up to Berdly or whoever is manning the desk and trying to return your not-porn-mag I can definitely see why he'd rather bury it and forget about its existence than confront the librarian.
Interestingly if Ralsei IS literally derived from Asriel and inherited his memories and interests, and Asriel is into purple dragon girls, then the how to draw dragons book and Ralsei's shady dating ad moment are pretty seriously implying he is into Susie.
Ralsei, as a Darkner, is derived from a object (most likely Kris's old horns head band). But maybe he's much more stable of a being and not tied to a single Dark World because of Kris's memories of Asriel.
@@jediarcherbc709 Oh, sounds like Ralsei is made from _Kris's personality_ and personifies their struggle to fit in/presenting as a monster? Maybe those desires can be imputed upon objects and then personified via Darkness. Oh man, if this goes in a player == villain direction, we're going to have an opportunity to betray Ralsei where we find out Kris has been concealing it on their person, _hiding it from the inventory screen and revealing the UI as a fallible manifestation of the player's perception_
Hey, that ad for Ralsei, the one where he means to click on the castle but instead on the demolishing company. This could be a reference to Ralsei wanting to build up the castle town, but his actions are destroying places in the dark world, and possibly more.
It’s possible that Ralsei had access to some old technology left in the closet, which allowed him to understand things like corruption and sleep mode, but those devices had no access to the internet, meaning he had no idea how it worked.
"That's your brother's search history? You better hope I never meet him" now conjures the image of susie making what is effectively neverending "having sex with one's mom" jokes but with Kris' brother instead of mom if they ever met to me
@@JaruJaruJ Something also interesting to note: It's mentioned in Chapter 1 that one of Noelle's fears is "Santa Claus," but in Chapter 2, one of the pop-ups she can click on (not accidentally) is for "Hot Female Santas" despite this. For the same reason as her interest in Susie, she's into the idea of a gender-flipped Santa because it's both scary and attractive at the same time to her.
I'm a little bit disappointed that you didn't mention the characters' *dialogue* from these interactions, because there's some serious lore fodder with Ralsei. Anytime Ralsei does one of these interactions, he'll say "I... I didn't mean to do it... I... I'm sorry!!! I repent!!!" While a simple comically exaggerated demonstration of guilt, I DO find the use of the word *repent* interesting, especially since, in the same chapter, we learn from Father Alvin that Asriel had an unusual fixation on the concept of sin, since the monsters in Deltarune apparently don't have that concept. Since repentance is a form of cosmic atonement specifically tied to the concept of sin, I feel it creates a noticeable parallel, and I'd definitely keep an eye out for any more weirdly christian phrases used by him.
5:44 To me these lines feel like either foreshadowing and a statement about how Ralsei interacts with his friends. He meant to click on an ad about making friends but accidently clicked on a gun. This sounds like Ralsei has the goal of forming friendships but ends up hurting his friends instead. This could be something Ralsei does in an upcoming chapter to hurt kris and or susie. He had already shown that he can be rather unkind in his attempt to quickly get past something that makes him uncomfortable (at least thats how i interpret it) like when he is dismissive towards susie and kris after the spamton neo fight and how he quickly moves on from Queen running out of batteries saying thats its time to seal the fountain with a smile when the others are still shaken.
The whole concept of demons and other similar figures in Undertale and Deltarune is very interesting to me. Obviously the angel is a very important part of Toby's story, Gaster has that whole 666 motif, dog (as in the annoying dog, the representation of Toby) is an anagram for God, heaven is talked about in the prophecy and by Spamton, hell is brought up a couple times by different characters (namely Sans, Spamton, and the memory heads), and you talked about demons. I've had a couple ideas of what demon could mean. If we take hell to mean the dark world (a pretty reasonable guess) demon could be a similar term for darkner, which would line up with Chara being, like darkners, a being brought to life through determination. If we take angel to mean player (because that's just simply confirmed by Asgore in a specific set of neutral runs) then demon could just mean in game character. Another possibility is maybe demon means player character, being the inverse of the angel in a way. Finally since Gaster is the devil, maybe demon could mean Gaster follower or goner.
considering the general theme of ralsei's ads having a comically malicious twist to them, i have to wonder if the ad for "a bunny who teaches you how to make friends" was actually Happy Tree Friends...
the demon file saying all the weird stuff about "i am your humble servant" used to be a warning for anyone datamining, and it got changed in an update.
Also, while i do like the idea of kris trying to bring their brother back to life, i personally disagree that the demon possesing them is asriel. instead it could be possible that this summoning gone wrong could have been what forged the connection between kris and the player (aka the red soul). we dont know exactly how long the soul has been controlling kris for, but it could explain how player is able to control kris's body, a power that is rather demonic and supernatural in nature.
you dont needa apologise

Interesting analysis!
feeling guilty about killing Yoshi is not misplaced.

THIS is what i was thinking about that line!!
That makes sense. He’s never had friends before, so I could see him being anxious about royally screwing it up.
It might also be worth mentioning that the only reason he made the friends he has now is because the world is under threat of being destroyed.

i don’t think asriel isn’t returning the dragons book because of having a type.
i think what happened is as follows:
- asriel was always shown to be very imaginative and artsy, especially as seen on his computer where he seems to have doodles and concept art
- as a child, asriel took the book out from the library due to the title of it, being none the wiser.
- as he read it, or as time passed, he realized when the book was actually for, and became much too embarrassed to return it
probably
I've seen a couple interpretations postulating this reading of it, and I can absolutely agree that is a valid, less embarrassing alternative. xD

I repent!!!"
I find this interesting because:
(1) Alvin mentions that sin and confession aren't part of the monster religion and he seems to be the only one who still acknowledges the idea, and
(2) When Spamton is asked about the Knight one of the things he interjects with after mentioning communion is to say "No, I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to --", which sounds kinda similar to what Ralsei said.
Hmm. Interesting.
This is out of nowhere, but maybe they have dueterocanon or heretical works where repentance is a thing?
Well, Ralsei is just a representation of what Kris wants, so maybe having someone else who believes in sins and forgiving them is what he wants?
I think the idea of Kris successfully summoning a demon, and that demon being us, the player/red soul, is much more interesting than it just being Chara
Agreed

Toby Fox has a talent for packing huge amounts of lore in small places
I mean, he MADE Undertale, he has probably erased many things, created stuff, changed them over and over again, no different than an Undertale player killing an enemy one run and sparing them the other, doing everything to see every option.
out of all the characters, chara is the one most likely meant to represent us the player, which is why theyre the one we name at the beginning. toby fox has a deleted tweet he made where he hinted that the fallen child should be named after ourselves, and most people are likely to do that anyway.
people got spoiled on chara being the true name so when people did a genocide run, thats the name they used. so most people kind of missed the implication that chara is supposed to be representive of us. the line "that feeling? thats me, [your name here]" hits a lot harder when you dont use the true name. plus flowey using the player name when he asks us not to reset loses its meta element if you didnt name the character after yourself
anyway my point here is that when chara calls themself a demon its kind of a double edged sword since we, as chara's reflection, are implied to also be a demon by association. which is fair since they say this post genocide after we kill everyone. chara explicitly tells us theyre the feeling the player gets when our stats rise. in a way, chara is who a player becomes when theyre playing a video game. when they say "move on to the next world" they mean move on to the next game. as long as the player continues to play games "chara" will still be with them
Everyone knows the Genocide route dialouge as (paraphrased) "Greetings, my name is Chara...
@@Squeerxblrg kris isnt interested in church they just like the fruit juice lol
@@ab-qf1iv Chara being both an in-game character and some sort of meta demon thing was prolly Undertale's weakest thing to me.
Asriel is based.
Very interesting! I like this train of thought!
yeah thats how ive been viewing ralsei too. whatever ralsei is up to he definitely believes is for best for everyone, but the result will likely hurt someone. my theory is that ralsei is hiding the fact that he's aware of the player controlling kris because the soul that we control is necessary for closing the fountains and fulfilling the prophecy, which is essentially ralsei's reason for existing. he's ignoring the pain that kris is enduring because accomplishing his goal will ultimately save the world. i think ralsei's conversation with kris during the boat ride hints that he might be having second thoughts about this though. especially if you respond with "..." when prompted. he seems really relieved when kris responds with a "kris-like" answer
Also if Kris was looking up possession, the search history (and thus the ads) may of chalked it up to demons!
@@ivyproductions7097 true lol
The player isn't a thing in the canon, while we are controlling Kris it's another entity in-universe that's possessing them.
I was thinking of this too.
Wasn't there a comic with Kris making a deal with gaster which lead to us possessing them? Sounds perfect for this

Take of the Dealmaker Noelle, Ralsei needs that!

This phrase goes like this:
I am "Chara's name".
(sorry for long comment lol)
Susie: Her ads can seem more straightforward.

The Ralsei ads could also be foreshadowing him accidentally doing something terrible while trying to help in the future.
The second Ralsei ad is definitely something a younger Asriel would do.
I imagine this happened in Undertale and Chara, being the chaotic older sibling they are, kept up the ruse by purposefully shutting off the wifi whenever Asriel tried to use the home computer.

Ralsei: Well why not?
Susie: Because you have only used a scarf in combat this whole time.
Ralsei: Well naturally, I don't want to hurt anyone too badly.
Susie:So, wait why do you even have this many guns.
Ralsei: Because they're cool
Susie: Huh, can't argue with that
Or Asriel didn't want to return the book out of emberassment after getting older, or he didn't want to return it because he thought it was too naughty for the library. And his room could have easily just been full of nerdy stuff. Additionally if there's a popup for lightners for darkners when there's no lightners in the dark world for who knows how long, I really doubt 'humans 4 monsters' necessarily implies it wasn't made up on the spot for Kris. I doubt hot female santa advertisements are too common after all. . .

Interesting reading! I could absolutely see something like that unfolding.

What if the demon they summed was _the player?_ Or maybe Gaster who allows the player to possess Kris?
Yeah… the player makes sense.
"Demons have less lore in these games than Gaster"
unless you're like me and think Gaster is somehow symbolically the Devil, therefore a demon
Gaster is Giygas.
gaster is just some guy that got warped out of the space time continuum because he science'd too hard. hes just a freaky lil science dude that haunts us from inside the game's code because he has nothing better to do ever since he stopped existing
@@Barakon bro Toby wouldn’t reuse plot lines, that would be boring.
4:49 _madness alert but hear me out:_
What if Ralsei really wants to have friends but he feels like his usual self can't do that so the cute bunny is the facade he relies on and the machine gun is the real personality?
Susie speaks about how they're targeting their weaknesses and Ralsei's biggest flaw is that he doesn't even know how does one act "ralsei like".
Hell, what if his name _isn't Ralsei_ and he just researched about Asriel and acts like him to please Kris? *WHAT IF HIS NAME IS DANIEL????*
My main theory is that Ralsei will get more savage each chapter. Chapter one he was fluffy perfect boy, chapter two he's conflicted about who he is, so it's a fine line of progression.
DANIEL. xD
That Sounds like a Noyno from RIBBIT
That part with Ralsei being sad about "deleting the entire internet" does seem a bit out of character....
HOWEVER, it very strongly reminds me of Asriel's "confessions" with father Alvin. This could be another hint at a link between the two and the nature of dark worlds.
Indeed, indeed.
i think ralsei’s fake deletion line is either self-victimization or a warning to him having some incredible power we don’t know about
I honestly this the reason kris prefers being around Susie is because out of all the characters in the game she’s the only one who has the most freedom out of any of them.
(Laughs in Jevil)
With the demon text, how you said it sounded like a conversation, it reminded me of when you first boot up the game of deltarune
"Are you there?"
(Greetings)
"Are we connected?"
(You have made yourself clear)
"Excellent "
"Truly excellent "
"Now we may began"
(Understood)
(I, your humblest servant, shall follow you to the utmost)

I was thinking that it could be just a joke, but ralsei clicking on a castle and instead blowing up buildings with a bazooka could be refering to how they've been sealing the fountains of dark worlds, turning them to stone, and taking the inhabitants to Castle Town.
Hmm. Could be!
The implication that Kris may have a crush on, or genuine attraction to, Susie is both somewhat frightening and kinda adorable
That's certainly a valid way to interpret this information!
Interesting!
"That's your brother's search history? You better hope I never meet him" now conjures the image of susie making what is effectively neverending "having sex with one's mom" jokes but with Kris' brother instead of mom if they ever met to me
I love how the deltarune fandom is so desperate for new chapters we are analyzing every little joke
Given me a new fanart idea! Thanks for the video!
My pleasure!
@@JaruJaruJ Something also interesting to note:
It's mentioned in Chapter 1 that one of Noelle's fears is "Santa Claus," but in Chapter 2, one of the pop-ups she can click on (not accidentally) is for "Hot Female Santas" despite this.
I repent!!!"
While a simple comically exaggerated demonstration of guilt, I DO find the use of the word *repent* interesting, especially since, in the same chapter, we learn from Father Alvin that Asriel had an unusual fixation on the concept of sin, since the monsters in Deltarune apparently don't have that concept. Since repentance is a form of cosmic atonement specifically tied to the concept of sin, I feel it creates a noticeable parallel, and I'd definitely keep an eye out for any more weirdly christian phrases used by him.
Fair! I hadn't thought to discuss them since I was so focused on the ads themselves, but that's an interesting point!
Main takeaway from this video:
Deltarune's society (or maybe just Hometown's societal bubble) really has a thing for purple dragon girls
The recoloured sprites are incredibly cursed
Among all the things that I'd expect to be a topic in a Deltarune theory video, Asriel's search history would be at the bottom of my list.
Finally since Gaster is the devil, maybe demon could mean Gaster follower or goner.
considering the general theme of ralsei's ads having a comically malicious twist to them, i have to wonder if the ad for "a bunny who teaches you how to make friends" was actually Happy Tree Friends...
the demon file saying all the weird stuff about "i am your humble servant" used to be a warning for anyone datamining, and it got changed in an update.
it was also worded as if it was written by chara undertale
remembered this as well, i think this is important to note
