The crowbar part of the fight has got to be one of the greatest callbacks in anime. It ties the entire first season together completely. It’s also just a really good flex of his skills. The season’s last “atomic” is also just a great flex as well. him calling the artifact a crutch is because she accused him of only gaining his power from one. So him mocking her for using one herself is likely a reference to that.
More than that. It really is a crutch. Instead of bettering herself she decided to rely on a tool to carry the load of her trying to keep up. After Cid lost his posture he dodged so low that it looked like that he was crawling and dodged so low that Cid was out of Beatrix view. Yup, TES actually has pretty strong lore, an interesting story, and great characterization. Though, all that tends to get lost in all the "funny isekai man being a chuuni" comments.
It makes sense he didn't say "atomic". He cancelled the magic and left. It was a show (and he didn't want the entire capital obliterated just to prove a small point). He didn't create the bright light. That's just the midday sun after the world was made dark-ish purple (and the clouds removed by his ambient mana). It looks extra bright to them initially just like how sudden light after being in the dark can be a bit blinding.
He didn't cancel the magic. Up to and through the whole fight it is raining heavily. What he did do is redirect the attack to the sky and blew away the weather above and around the entire capital. Basically demonstrating his power without blowing them away with it.
@@Blitzwaffen No, he didn't. I have no clue what it says in the Light Novel or Manga but in the anime that is not what is shown at all. In the anime the "shocking" part was his abrupt disappearance when he was about to unleash. It was the fear and trepidation that went semi-unfulfilled. In case you have never noticed, when he "actually" unleashes an Atomic it creates a raw purple blast of power for what is implied to be a minute or minutes. Not only is there zero blast shown (not even one above them contained in the sky) but there is zero time this can even occur in; he disappeared before as he was mouthing the last word and the blast can only be activated afterwards. Lastly, in case you really weren't paying attention to the show, he can only cast I Am Atomic within the bounded area he creates beforehand. You are trying to say he created a bounded area the size of the city, and then not only let out a seconds worth of Atomic, which is not only not seen or sensed by the viewer or the in-verse characters despite being pure mana overload (and thus impossible to miss for anyone with Mana), but also was targeted in a spot that is either out of his already created bounded area or at best in only one small part of his bounded area (when all previous examples and nature of the bounded area would tell us the entire things explodes with mana, the boundary is to keep it escaping). There are so many nonsensical parts if that is what the animators wanted to show it isn't even funny.
@@rowanmales3430 for a dude talking about light being blinding you sure are blind yourself. @@zbigbozbboy5245 I'm glad he didn't use I Am Atomic in the LN either, and yeah it was seriously cool to see him place the entire city in his zone. I doubt he has a defensive version of I Am Atomic, but it's also the sort of thing we'll probably never know since he won't ever need it. I mean, I Am Atomic is just pure mana overload. It's already something that absolutely destroys anything it comes into contact with, and considering he alone can survive being in it... well... isn't it like the perfect offensive AND defensive thing all at once. What would you even hypothetically want in a defensive I Am Atomic? Something that vaporizes the attack coming your way effectively making you completely untouchable? Regular Atomic already does all that while also destroying the vicinity offensively. It's basically an "I have invincibility" from a defensive perspective already.
I was wondering if you could do a video talking about the parallels between Iris and Rose. - Both are the first Princesses bearing heavy responsibilities. - Iris was sheltered her whole life and has narrow-minded views while Rose was given freedom to explore and learn. - Iris believed protecting her people is by defeating whatever opponent in front of her. Rose, after learning from Shadow, that she must do things that her people won't like in order to protect them. - Iris sees the Sun but refuses to see it and see the truth. Rose looks up to the Moon and tries to grab something that was impossible.

Hidive is showing s2 as it comes out and it’s also dubbed. Up to ep 8 I think now? Just thought I’d say something, cuz the vampire technique is explained quickly into the Lost City
The thing he said on the last scene at the s1 finale might be his own last name. "Kagenou" In both of his lives, he had this same last name. If it's Kagenou, then it'd have both "Shadow" his stage name AND Kagenou, his surnames from both lives.
A little error during his fight against beatrix in the crowd. Although the civillians aren't moving, the raindrops are falling normally which indicates time is moving normally as well... Unless the civillians are slow as heck..

After Cid lost his posture he dodged so low that it looked like that he was crawling and dodged so low that Cid was out of Beatrix view. He Grabbed her etc etc.
7:32 it was not that he was scared that his 99% slime sword would break. It was because he had no posture.
*If you meet Cid, you will be taken into a test exam.*
I noticed the vignette effect 0:16 nice playoff
Here from the reddit side! Nice analysis!
Shadow is just like that sometimes, also this video shows how good the dub is
0:16 only noticed it when reading the thing at the corner lmao
I am shadow; this name and this form stands before you are my truth.
I did not realize how deep this goes, god I love this anime
edit: Subbed
Yup, TES actually has pretty strong lore, an interesting story, and great characterization. Though, all that tends to get lost in all the "funny isekai man being a chuuni" comments.
@@term02 I will 100% say this is the most well written anime out there
The game is apparently canon, so Beatrix's interactions with Cid in it are canon
Cid/shadow has been testing his opponent all this time
Most of the iconic lines are way better in the sub, but i kinda enjoyed most of the other scenes dubbed too
I watched it all subbed but the snippets from this video make me want to watch it dubbed too. Second light novel I ever bought I love this story
that was really well put together good luck
Your taking a purposely shi and giggles show and over analyzing it and being way too serious when obviously how can you NOT notice a HEAVILY raining storm over the entire kingdom and after the fight nothing is there at all. Now that is blinding and funny to miss in its own way and replace it with whats basically iris's mindset of must be a artifact 🕵 when obviously heavily rain over capital, not there at all anymore after the fight "no he didnt" honestly it feels like your rivaling iris's pride or ego but in maybe a different direction from her thoughtlessness
@@rowanmales3430in LN he didn't use Atomic, he just clear the sky. The fighting also restricted to Colosseum not entire city, i do like the change they made though😅. Consider he has variations of I Am Atomic, i won't reject the possibility of defense type of I Am Atomic.
They are moving so fast that humans do not move, but rain still does. So dumb.
Great video, hope you keep up!
The boy says “ Adam” like Adam bomb, aka atomic bomb
I love Shadow and all of his personas . He is my GOAT
Subscribed. Just hope I won't get spoiled from thumbnails and video titles in the future.
I’m gonna say that this man absolutely violated beartrix and iris in battle like my man disrespected them and even said to iris is that a magic sword and iris reply’s it’s underhanded and the vid says no Oi need the handycap like bruh disrespect
I thought he said "Kagenou"
Ooooh u didn't know that when he said while animal was Irish and her sister, I thought he was saying it to beatix
4:00 it kinda doesn't make sense at all cuz even the rain would be stopped as well as everything in the world moving you know
I'm confused, the animators decided the humans couldn't move, this guy says is because they're moving too fast. But then how come the rain is moving normal?
Cid is such an edge lord i love it :D
shadow just want to act cool, nothing complicated idiology or something more, ....
Hidive is showing s2 as it comes out and it’s also dubbed. Up to ep 8 I think now? Just thought I’d say something, cuz the vampire technique is explained quickly into the Lost City
The character’s name: “Beatrix”
Author of the video: “Bed chicks”
The thing he said on the last scene at the s1 finale might be his own last name.
"Kagenou"
In both of his lives, he had this same last name.
So...this is basically Dragon Ball without the whole Character Development.
At 8:00 the Japanese version hits different, it’s so much better.
I heard from novels readers that Iris will join the Diablos or sth in the future, is it true?
Obviously, he cancelled the attack XD
I always imagined Shadow and the Garden with British accents... more refined and threatening...
Anyone PLEASE!!! Where can I purchase this Anime... Cheers in advance
it's free on 9anime, no need to purchase anything, season 1 is on there and season 2 is releasing new episodes every wednesday
He's soo meee
Iris is best girl
Great video 10/10 . But using dub 😢
TH-cam recommended this video
I'm curious, but would it not be easier to watch Dub than Sub? What is the downside that makes people hate dub so much? 🤔
@@SeriesZap the subtitle audio is better and voice acting doesn’t distract you from the show . the majority of anime sounds terrible in English
(Some exceptions always exist)
Go watch reincarnated as a slime dub vs sub
A huge offender
opponents
The english dub of Why would I run honestly gave me more chills than the japenese voiceline
Whats with the origami at the end?
Some kinda behind the scenes date with Cid. There is no info from the game, too.
it is the burger wrapper that Cid gave to her. She make it into origami as memento to Cid.
Yey
For once the anime is better than the manga
Name?
Dude It just sound so cringe I don't know if its your accent or because your making it sound so serious XD but if u like doing this than whatever u do u bro
I dont know why but the english dub isn't as good as a japanese dub. Shadows personates voice sounds waaaay better by the japanese VA.
I REFUSE TO SUBSCRIBE TO A TH-camR WHO WATCHES ANIME IN DUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@SeriesZap u wouldn't get it while asking the reason evennif i explain. but u will get it after getting used to watching in sub and after that if u watch dub u will understand
@@EverLastingLov True
@@SeriesZapdub voice for the wolf girl is why compared to the sub version, watch them talk side by side and you will understand why. I find shadow dub amazing but some side charecter ruin it with their dub so ppl opt for sub to be safe.
As someone who watches sub even when it has dub
I watch shadow garden dubbed then replay epic moments in sub to compare
I am sorry, but I can't watch this video withour cringing when hearing the dub.
The dub is really meh compared to the sub
i will maintain that most English dubs of anime are truly awful and fail to capture the feeling of the original dialogue
