You can't tell me that the John Smith persona wasn't based on Walter Dornez. The outfit, the wires, the accent he has in the dub, it matches too perfectly.
I mean John Smith's Arc was pretty accurate the fights besides Gettan were pretty short in that Arc, in other hand was the Blood moon arc that felt pretty rushed to the point they cut an entire chapter of the LN and one more episode would have helped a lot to dont feel it Personally i think the way they handled this season has been....weird, in season 1 you can see they adapted pretty well things even when they left out some details, you see every change was to improve things like Shadow vs Beatrix/Iris, hell they even added content of the web novel but meanwhile this season its still good but you see every change its like a gamble, they give us a little fight scene with Delta and John Smith but they rushed Gettan's fight, They give us a relatively fun filler episode with the 7 Shades but then you remember this its a 12 episodes season and that extra episode could have helped a lot the rushed first arc
Completely agree, the first season was way better in my opinion. A faithful adaptation with many good anime original scenes is what I want out of an adaptation, even better when the audio-visual side is very good (I AM ATOMIC scenes, final fight in general).
@@dodo-uz4ctthe whole annex of vol 3 that works like a epilogue of Blood moon arc, i think it's very important part because explain pretty well the dynamic between Cid and his sister and why she is hardcore brocon That's why it's very hard to swallow a fanservice filler episode knowing they cutted a VERY important part of that arc
@@000mjd I see. But I want to make sure that, I don't think it's enough to make a full 20 minutes episode from the annex. At most, 10 minutes top. Also, we do know the dynamic between Cid and Claire. For the first season we see that Cid avoids Claire over and over, during the blood moon arc, we know that Claire was afraid of dying early and leave Cid behind. For me, Cid and Claire dynamic when Blood Moon arc was over was clear as day. If they put the annex as epilogue, I think it would be redundant. Look, I get it. The discrepancies between S1 and S2 adaptation is quite jarring, but when I analyse how much material content in S2 arc. All of them didn't have enough material to create a full episodes to finish the arc, Blood Moon was 3,5 episode, John Smith 4,5, Oriana Kingdom 3,5. They can't end an arc on the middle of the episode, especially when season 1 already established the world building, and characterisation to all major character.
Are you able to continue shield hero or goblin slayer ? Goblin slayer more for me as some scenes left me with questions on the most recent episode on the elf wedding ?
This would have been better fanservice episode than the one we got. Oh and on the situation of Geten being the strongest enemy John Smith ever had to face i would disagree. I'd say that is still Alpha as Cid had to pull out his sword for her.
Thanks for explaining how it went in the novel. But, personally I like the anime version more. S01 already show how strong Cid is. To me, I know that Gettan is just there for the sake of Yukime's backgrounnd explanation. Therefore I love it how the anime show just that, after showwing Yukime background, get him out of the show ASAP.
I think the anime studio decided to change the use of wires to just throwing hands is because they thought wires won't work well in an open field. There's nothing there too hook and curve the wires. They did the same thing when Delta attacked him earlier.

It's funny that I've been watching the full arcs of this season by accident. Didn't start the season until 3 episodes came out. Then I randomly stopped and watched again when the next 4 came out. Both in complete arcs. 😅
i think the first season was so good because it had amazing sound effects and action, but as of the 2nd i am yet to see either even coming close the quality of the prequel
Hi, I am curious on the translation (or how it was managed). The scene where they fight is is int e snow for a reason, snow in Japanese is "yuki". And when Gettan points at Yukine when he finally say what John Smith wants to hear, he says "yu...ki..tano...mu..." which John Smith misinterpret as "snow..." that Gettan was pointing at the snow next to Gettan (and that makes Shido/John Smith dig snow where Gettan pointed at) How well was this translated in English since you did not mention this as-always misunderstanding comedy...

You can't tell me that the John Smith persona wasn't based on Walter Dornez. The outfit, the wires, the accent he has in the dub, it matches too perfectly.
New drinking game: take a shot every time our man says "ya see". Lmao😂😂
The studio better be saving for a better fight down the season to drastically change this fight.
I Hope so
I mean John Smith's Arc was pretty accurate the fights besides Gettan were pretty short in that Arc, in other hand was the Blood moon arc that felt pretty rushed to the point they cut an entire chapter of the LN and one more episode would have helped a lot to dont feel it
Personally i think the way they handled this season has been....weird, in season 1 you can see they adapted pretty well things even when they left out some details, you see every change was to improve things like Shadow vs Beatrix/Iris, hell they even added content of the web novel
but meanwhile this season its still good but you see every change its like a gamble, they give us a little fight scene with Delta and John Smith but they rushed Gettan's fight,
They give us a relatively fun filler episode with the 7 Shades but then you remember this its a 12 episodes season and that extra episode could have helped a lot the rushed first arc
Which one on Blood Moon arc was being cut again? I don't felt it being rush, it does feel short but the arc was short.
Completely agree, the first season was way better in my opinion. A faithful adaptation with many good anime original scenes is what I want out of an adaptation, even better when the audio-visual side is very good (I AM ATOMIC scenes, final fight in general).
@@dodo-uz4ctthe whole annex of vol 3 that works like a epilogue of Blood moon arc, i think it's very important part because explain pretty well the dynamic between Cid and his sister and why she is hardcore brocon
That's why it's very hard to swallow a fanservice filler episode knowing they cutted a VERY important part of that arc
As an anime only watcher I would've liked to see cod's breakdown when he found the money missing
No Zeni, No Magic, JUST BRUTE FORCE.
I hope you are having a great day
This would have been better fanservice episode than the one we got. Oh and on the situation of Geten being the strongest enemy John Smith ever had to face i would disagree. I'd say that is still Alpha as Cid had to pull out his sword for her.
Any idea about what treasure Delta has found when cid left?
No one seems to know!
I don’t want to spoil it but it’s something VERY important…
Thanks for explaining how it went in the novel. But, personally I like the anime version more.
S01 already show how strong Cid is. To me, I know that Gettan is just there for the sake of Yukime's backgrounnd explanation. Therefore I love it how the anime show just that, after showwing Yukime background, get him out of the show ASAP.
I think the anime studio decided to change the use of wires to just throwing hands is because they thought wires won't work well in an open field. There's nothing there too hook and curve the wires. They did the same thing when Delta attacked him earlier.
Shadow is so strong that Gettan wasnt even a fight
bro i love your content if you have the time can you cover frieren if not its good cause eminence in shadow and overlor are already so dope that and the new slime season on the hroizon
@1:23 but delta being alive was completely different… also, the character positions and such were different in the manga.
What did delta find in the end there or is it a spoiler?
Spoiler…but it will be revealed IF the series keeps getting animated!
I've never been this early. Let's go!!!
Your videos are great. Short, to the point, good explanation and presentation on screen. Keep it up!
4:25 IS THAT GREENPATH OST?
Solo leveling you say? lets go!
the show peaked at s1 ep 20. and after the lawless city it sunk
Just imagine toji vs the squid dude from jjk as John Smith vs gettan
By the way, what was the thing they found in the snow in the end? I'm curious to know.
I vote for Frieren to be covered!
Dissapointing we had cuts in presumable service to the recent filler beach episode. I'm here for POWER, beach episodes are for those who lack the will for POWER.
Gettan screwed up without him doing and knowing😂😂😂
If you breack somones wepon and they say its just steal your cooked kneel and beg for foegivness
HAPPY thanksgiving! Hope you had a great time!🦃🦃🦃🦃❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
S3 of Shield Hero has been quite better than S2, would be interesting to see your takes on it
they should make the dragon better though. Like despite all the upgrade S3 did. people will just clown it to the ground again just cause of the bad cg dragon
12 episodes instead of 20 for season 2 really starting bring letdown...thank goodness for cut content
You should do another anime besides EMINENCE IN SHADOW !
