Nissan with Stereo issues? DON'T GET STUNG BY YOUR NISSAN DEALER - Watch this!

- A bit of a rougher (than usual!) video, but i noticed there are a lot of people who have an intermittent issue on their Qashqai J11 stereo causing radio, bluetooth loss and random resets.
Nissan are aware of this and have released a fix. This fix is free of charge.
Unfortunately, a lot of Nissan dealers are trying to charge diagnostic fees of up to £100, to find out it needs this update. They should be aware of this from an update bulletin from Nissan UK.
If you are having issues, call your dealer first, explaining you are aware there is an update available to fix it. If they want to charge a diagnostic fee, hang up and call Nissan UK on 0330 123 1231, they'll ask for your reg number to make sure that your vehicle has been affected by the issue, and then they will get in contact with the dealer to arrange the free update.

Absolute legend! After suffering with this problem for months, thinking it was an over-heating issue that was going to costs thousands - I spent 90 minutes in my local Nissan garage this morning and it’s fixed free of charge.
I owe you a pint!
You my friend are a rockstar. I called Nissan Customer services and explained the issue. They didn't give me a Code but they sent me an email saying I was entitled to a free software update. I then called my local Nissan dealer and explained the situation. They asked if I had the email but I never had to show them. They booked me in, updated the software and sent the bill To Nissan which I think was a smidge over 100 quid plus VAT. Works fine now. Happy Days. Many, many thanks.
What a star. Took the QQ into the dealer this morning, made sure he knew I wasn't paying any fee. 2 hours later I drove home, took about 40 mins, without the radio cutting out and I also had the Satnav on just in case I got lost. THANKS.
Thank you...Thanks to your video I called Nissan. They booked me into Lookers Chester and today they have updated it free of charge. (Feb 22). Also gave my car a clean 👍Service was 1st class.
Thanks for the video just bought a qashqai and the stereo was showing all these symptoms so went straight to Nissan dealers and explained what was happening and the woman definitely knew about this update and said we will book it in for the software update to be done all for free
No probs mate.
contacted Nissan uk yesterday got booked in today all done within the hour at no cost (they even washed the car) so big thanks for this radio is working just fine now 🙂
Tried this 2 weeks ago. Helpful lady on support confirmed I could get a free upgrade, sent me an email confirming this. Booked into dealer 2 weeks later. All sorted. 65 Plate. Thank you.
My car is a X-trail purchased used with this same symptom. Used your info, called Nissan, then found dealer and I'm all booked in for a free fix. Cheers
Had mine done by Hammonds Bury st Edmunds, staff were friendly helpful and didn't try to charge me at all!.
Was having issues with my Nissan Juke 2014. Stereo was powering off and losing signal. After watching your video I contacted Nissan who took my car in and done an update free of charge and now hey presto it’s fixed my problem. Thank you so much 👍
No probs, glad you've got it sorted
You are a legend. I've read comments that told me the radio was a write off. Until I found your video. All updated today free of charge!! 2 hour drive for work afterwards and no cut off on the radio or cut off on the phone. Brilliant. Thank you so much.
I phoned the Nissan help line in your video description and they patched me through to my local Nissan dealer who have booked me in for a free update in a few weeks time. Will update once completed. Just wanted people to know that despite this video being a year old you can still book your car in for the free update. Thanks for being the Martin Lewis of QQ's and pointing me in the right direction 👍
I booked my car in for the update which got updated today, it hasn’t worked and they have told me I may have to pay
I picked my car up last week after booking in for the update (took about an hour and was free despite being well out of warranty and not even purchasing my car from them). I've driven about 500 miles in it since and the radio/sat nav hasn't cut out even once. It would sometimes cut out multiple times during a 10 minute journey so am putting it down to a success story in my case. Thanks again for the advice 👍
Top man, After months of radio audio problems I checked out this site and contacted my local Nissan Dealer straight away who said yes there was a free update on my 15 plate 1.6 Diesel Qashqai, so now no problems and no cost, thank you.
Legend mate , done exactly what you said and they updated the nav software for free, tell you this .. they were not very happy at the dealership
Haha! I bet I'm banned, I might take a trip to my local and see if there's a picture of me on the wall 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for this. Phoned Nissan UK and they confirmed the issue, but as our Qashqai was out of warranty it was down to the dealer. First dealer I called would not do anything without charging for a diagnostic test. The second one was very helpful and booked us in for a free software update.
Thank you soooo much!!!!! I have only had my qashqai a few weeks and this issue was sending me around the bend. I called nissan like you said and they advised me to call my local dealer for a free update. The car is currently in the garage now being looked at and is free of charge. Thanks again
Thank you so much, watched this, contacted my local Nissan dealer @westend motors Bodmin. After a few emails they booked my car in & updated the software free of charge. No quibbles, no diagnostics mentioned. Lady replied to my email saying she had looked into it, Nissan issued an email to all main dealers she said, it instructed them to sort this issue for free. They even washed my Juke afterwards. Fabulous, thanks again so much for your video.
I have just done exactly what you said . Spoke with very polite customer service . As you said it is a update that is required and is free. Should they attempt to charge a dianostic refuse to pay it . Contact Nissan and they will contact the branch . Amazing . Thank you PS . I owna Nissan Juke - Still covered .
Brilliant posting, just found it and have had confirmation from Nissan CS that I am due the free software update. Now booked in with my dealer to have it done free of charge. The car is 6 years old and the problem got worse when I started using DAB radio. Many thanks and keep up the great work :-)
Hi Dan, just thought I'd tell you I have just had mine updated from D502 to D602 by Bristol Street Motors, Derby, for free, without any hassles! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your info on my 2015 Qashqai faulty car radio. Rang local dealer in Wigan ,at first told it was out of warranty and there would be a charge also maybe a diagnostic test, i explained there was no fee and would get proof from Nissan UK who obliged with hand written letter acknowledging free upgrade, but did state if upgrade failed there would be a diagnostic test.
.Local wigan dealership were excellent job done no charge.
Thanks again
Just had my qashqai in for service and mot and I told them that my unit had basically become unusable, it was running on D302 software which was surprising considering it was a brand new unit installed by Nissan only 2 yrs ago.
Anyway my local dealer updated to D605 and all the issues have gone away just like that.
Really glad I saw your video on it 😊
Just an update. Did exactly what you suggested and my nearest garage didn’t even mention a charge.
The update seems to have worked a treat. So massive thank you.
Good to know some dealers are trustworthy!
Hi Dan. May not be connected but I have just had same problems with my Nissan Note. Whole unit shutting off and coming back on. Radio going off every 5 minutes and then back on again. Just about to phone Nissan as per your instructions when I tried a factory reset in settings. Halleluiah, it's back to normal again. As I say, it might not work for everyone but worth a shot. Keep up the good work!
Hi Dan, update on software update for radio, local dealer Brindley Nissan Cannock booked me in and knew all about fault, very friendly collected couple of hours later all done FOC. Told them my mate was having same issues and they said get him to book it in and they’ll sort it for him FOC
Very friendly courteous staff 👍🏼
Thanks for the heads up on this 👍🏼
Brill, glad some dealers are sorting it foc.
Amazing! I've just called Nissan Customer Service and I have now booked my car in for a free software update with no diagnostic! You're a star! Thank you so much! My car alarm kept going off at the weekend also, not sure if anyone has had this problem and that's also been rectified with the update? Possibly a whole different issue entirely. Thanks again Dan!
You’ll have a moth or fly in the car. I have same problem most nights but that is the problem
Also, did the update work for your car btw?
It did Max! So happy!
This makes a lot of sense!!!! Thank you, it’s not happened since.
@@emmaadams7158 Also worked for me too! Thank you !
I found the opposite actually worked for me... i contacted the uk customer service and they weren't helpful at all... They took my reg and said it wasn't eligible for the free update as my 2015 J11 wasn't an affected vehicle and i would need to pay for it... So i phoned my local dealership, told them i had radio issues and heard there was a software update and without any issue they agreed there was, they checked my reg again and said it WAS eligible and booked it in for a free update... over the moon with my local Nissan :)
That's disappointing. But glad you're getting it sorted
I had the same proplem with mine, not being aware of the free upgrade I went into the settings menu and gave it a factory reset, that solved the problem and it now seems to be ok👍
LEGEND!!!!!! My Nissan Juke stereo was frustrating the life outta me!!! I thought it was my phone having trouble streaming until I found your video on the Juke forum I joined, called the number you said got it booked in at my local Nissan dealership and got it back yesterday and it’s good as gold!!!! All sorted!!!!! Can’t thank you enough. Keep up the great work 👍🏾
Thanks for the info - I've just called Nissan about my 2015 Qashqai and they've sent me an email to take to my local dealership to get the problem fixed free of charge - Brilliant result!
This information is spot on. The local dealers didn’t want to know so I rang the number and bingo !! Booked in for free !
Thank you my unit is a nightmare keeps going off all the time
No worries mate. Glad it helped
Mate.....You are a grade A legend !!!!! Thank you had my update today and driving back from Nissan and trip to gym all seems good it works fingers crossed it carry on. Cheers again for the advice.
Took your advice took vehicle to Nissan today upgraded free of charge 👏👏🙏👍
Thank you! Bought my 2nd hand X-Trail T32 '16 plate 5 mos ago and have had intermittent radio/sat nav re-boots since on my Connect 3 system. Followed your advice and spoke to Nissan Cust Serv - VERY helpful and agreed FOC update. Booked it into Nissan Exeter for 2 weeks time. You're not just the QQ Guy - you cover X-Trails too! Keep up the great work.
Great to hear - nice one 👍
Just bought my Qashqui and i noticed the stereo keeps dropping out.
Will try ringing this number and see what happens. Fingers crossed.
And best advice I’ve found so thank you.
Thank you Dan!
Really helpful video. My 2017 Nissan Juke has been doing exactly these things. Using the radio, or Aux (Spotify) from my phone and cutting out and going silent. Also cutting out calls, and even resetting when using all these methods and the Sat Nav!
The screen goes black and then the Nissan badge appears and resets.
I just phoned Customer Service, they took my details and checked my registration. Customer Service confirmed my vehicle was on the list for a Software Update.
I am now on the phone to my local dealer to book my Nelly Nissan in.
Customer Service straight away advised this would be FREE, however if the problem still persists after the software update then a Diagnostics would be required and that would be chargeable to myself.
For anyone else who wants to check their vehicle, they did advise that if your Local Dealer tries to ask you to pay, refer them to Customer Service and they will sort the issue so that it is Free of Charge!
Hopefully the update will solve my issues!
Thank you again for providing this video. :-)
Thanks for that Lauren. Interesting to hear the Juke has the same issue! I'll edit the video title.
@@TheQashqaiGuy Very welcome! Thanks again Dan. 😃
My nissan juke 2016 does this too
My nissan juke 2016 doess this thankyou for the video and the phone number
@@TheQashqaiGuy I have been having the same problem with my 65 plate Note too. I am going to try to check the update version I have before calling Nissan and following your guidance. Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this!! I rang my dealership first as you suggested, they said as it was over the 5 years they need authorisation from Nissan UK to do the update for free. One very quick call to Nissan helpline and I had an email authorising this for free which I have sent to the dealership now. Haven't heard back just yet but hoping they can get me booked in and it fixes the fault. I will post an update once I've been seen by the dealership. Thank you again for the video, unbelievably helpful for someone like me who is not car savvy - have a great week!
Just spoke to Yeoman's Nissan Eastbourne as my wife's Qashqai needs a service. Spoke to a very helpful lady who said that they were extremely well aware of the issue and that the update was free of charge. Not sure if it would be if I wasn't doing the service but it sounded like they would. Haven't had it done yet but will update if anything doesn't go to plan.
Mate, thank you very much! You've saved me quite some money. Had this problem for months now and then came across this video. Took it to my local dealership 2 weeks ago, they tried to pull the diagnostics card, but I insisted on doing the upgrade first.... Radio has been running without a fault ever since.
I had this exact issue with my 2014 Qashqai ,I did exactly what you said and it's totally sorted now and completely free from any charge !fantastic advise and totally stress free a massive THANKU
Thanks for posting this video & the helpful additional information. I've had this issue with my Qashqai J11 and the rebooting was becoming so annoying. Had the car booked in for it's annual service and it seemed to head off any question of them running a diagnostic when I mentioned to the dealer about how well known the problem was and the free Nissan D605 software update. All running back to normal again now.
Thank you so much this problem was doing my head in especially after just being out of warranty!! After seeing your video I thought it's too good to be true but sure enough I called them and got it booked in for a FREE software update to fix the issue. You legend.
Happy to help mate 🙂
Cheers for this Dan, I've lost count of how many times I answered this query on the Facebook groups! Nissan update D605!
I have had this issue for sometime now(juke) and I have just seen your video. I have just spoken to my local Nissan dealership and I am booked in for Tuesday!🤞
They tell me there is no charge as Nissan will cover the cost. They also say update can take up to 2 hours.
Thanks for the great advice. 🤞this will sort the problem out.
Thank you ever so much for this advice. I put up with the stereo cutting out for over 6 months and non of the wiser from reading on google to get it fixed. Thanks to you nissan did my update today and it's now fixed :-) thank you.
I had my new (used) 2016 QQ Tekna delivered yesterday and after taking it for a long drive noticed that my music kept dropping and that the unit rebooting itself a good few times. It drives beautifully, looks gorgeous and feels so so safe to drive but, the aforementioned issues were so disappointing. Lo and behold, I find your (this) video and followed your advice. Nissan Customer Services emailed me with a confirmation within a minute of talking to them. They confirmed that my QQ does indeed require an update and on top of that they also explained that my particular model had a recall for a safety hazard with the child locks and do have booked me in to get that done too. I do so hope that the update solves the issue and will keep you updated but I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your valued help and advice. You are amazing, thank YOU! (The car goes in on the 14th for the update and child lock modification)
Thanks for your comments Lisa
Picked the car up earlier from our local Nissan dealership. They performed the update and the child lock modification/recall. (So far so good! You are awesome! Thank you QG for sharing such an informative and helpful video. If only all TH-camrs were this good!!
My local dealer booked this in for free without hesitation.
Not the Qashqai guy, THE QASHQAI KING!
Phoned a dealership today, They wanted £80 for half an hour's would (strange because the update takes an hour).
I went routing around in forums to see if I could do it myself - went mad trying to find the files etc. But in the end landed here. I'm dumbfounded to find that this is an issue on Nissan's side. Especially after my local dealership made no attempt to acknowledge this.
Thanks so much so sharing this, subscribed!
Haha no probs mate 👍
Cheers for this! Been driving me nuts! Got my 2015 Note booked in for an update next week. No question of payment was made. Least I can do is buy you a pint!
Cheers mate! Glad to be of assistance!
I would like to thank you for information about my Nissan radio getting it sorted free of charge your a legend thanks again
Thank you for this , came across this yesterday - I’ve had issues with dab radio since getting my QQ, no issues with my old model. Nissan UK we’re really helpful too.
A big thanks for this. Have now had my radio updated for free and had a wash/vacuum thrown in too! Great to have the radio on without interruption. Thanks again.
Thanks followed your advice radio now fixed and no cutouts…👍
I took my Nissan Note to my local dealer for a reboot of the radio, it was successful and free of charge. The guy in the service dept told me if it wasn't covered by the warranty it would've cost around £35.00
Following the' No Sound From Radio' problem that I have just experienced, I Googled the issue and found your post here. I just thought I would add a bit to the tale - This has just happened to my 2023 e-Power Tekna. Same symptoms as most have quoted - Other sources play ok, radio functionality not affected - still tunes and shows song being transmitted but no sound on radio. I went back out to the car after about 30 mins to get the owners manual from the car and thought I would try the radio again. Surprise Surprise it's all working again!
That's worrying on the 2023 model!
just came across this when I was searching about how to remove my Stereo, as I was going to replace due to DAB issues, Thanks for this little Gem, you have certainly saved me a few £££
No worries mate, what you swapping to?
@@TheQashqaiGuy I'm not sure, was just considering because of the DAB issues might still look as GPS is outdated as well need something to fully integrate the same as the current one, with the cameras and GPS etc, i know theres a few Android models but think they are mainly from China, still looking. any suggestions ?
The Dasaita seems well rated but don't think it comes with the dab adapter.
Have you checked to see if your car is due the free update to fix stereo issues? Check my other videos.
Just wanted to say thanks for your video, called my local garage and got my audio fixed initially they wanted to pull a fast one on me but told them exactly what you said in the video and got it fixed free of charge, you are absolutely a legend
Massive thanks to QQ Guy. Called Nissan Customer Service today followed by my local dealer, having been assured I wouldn't have to pay for a diagnostic and they were trying to get me to pay for a diagnostic. Were trying to say that if it didn't fix they would need to investigate what the problem was. She didn't have much to say when I told her it seems to have fixed everyone else's radio. Only £120 for a diagnostic fee. I'll let you know how it goes on Thursday. :)
Excellent, just sorted my wife's car thanks to you. Top man.
Many thanks Dan, just returned from the Nissan garage after having my Nissan Pulsar updated exactly as you said. I drove Kent to Devon last week and the satnav must have rebooted 40 times - hope it's all good now. Many thanks !
Thanks for this info. Seems this unit is in most Nissan's!
Well done Martin oops I mean Dan😃, a good save. When I bought my Qashqai July last year, S/H 2015 Tekna 1.5 dci, I asked the dealership to do a full service inc cam belt etc and the software update. They said they did it and I did check the version at the time. A few weeks back I got a letter saying I should book the car in for a cam belt change! Gives you a great sense of confidence in the dealership, glad I got 2 years of warranty with it. Never had this sort of problem with my Ford dealerships in the past! The Qashqai is a good car, except the rubbish radio with no Nissan support for Connect to apps! which I think they dropped support for last year around when I bought the car.
Yeah the connect app was absolutely rubbish. I think they thought it would be more supported then it was so gave up.
I’ve had this issue with my Juke for over a year now, never got it sorted because people kept telling me they were charged. A friend of mine was told by Nissan that it would cost her £300+… which obviously is ridiculous! But I will definitely try this way cause it’s driving me insane 😂
This is a great video. So pleased I watched this before taking the car in. I've been having this issue for weeks now. Thanks mate 👍
I have just rang my dealer and they say it will be £50 for update. So I rang Nissan UK and they rang my dealer and tell them that it is a free update and now it is in on Monday. (((((((Thank you so much Dan)))))))🚙🚙
This is brilliant! I'm hoping that Nissan crack down and get the update bulletin sent out again to remind them of it. It's really not on, I reckon a lot of people will have paid for this update - wrongly!
You should do a video on Nissan UK and all the things they can help people with. Keep up the good work
I have got the same issue. Just sent an email to Nissan customer service so they can refer to your video. I'm hoping for a quick response 🥂
I'd suggest calling them for quickest response.
But only after your dealer has told you it'll cost a diagnostic fee. Some dealers are now doing it free of charge, I think the word has got round to them all
Tell you what, I've been driving round for months with the radio cutting out, you little legend!!!
I’ve a 2015 X-Trail doing this. When it reboots (usually but not always after DAB signal cuts out a few times) it reverts to whatever station I was on when I last started the car and the GPS location is wherever I was when starting as well. Can generally tell a reboot is going to happen as the clicks of the buttons get laggy. Now I’ve seen your video I will give the local dealer a call and see what they say. It can happen once in a few days or four times on a 30 minute drive home!
I called customer serivice Nissan today. I explained the connection issues I have been having with connection dropping on sat nav and whilst playing music in my Nissian Juke (2015 model) . I spoke to a very helpful man & I received an email explaining the free software updates & if it does not work a diagnostic test might be necessary. They transfered me to Ancaster Nissan. Here i was told a diagnostic will be done first and it could be up to £114 for that test & it was important to have this just in case there is something else wrong before the software update. I said I would get back to them.
Yeah they'll try and charge you but don't accept it.
I rang Nissan to do this and they said they can’t do it because my car is out of warranty. I took it to my local dealer for an MOT and check over (which includes the stereo) they updated the stereo for me at no extra cost.
I thought that was really good of them.
thanks very much for this video, I have the same problem, just called nissan now, booked an appointment for a free of charge update. will come back after it is done on the 16th of Aug
Could you advise any more to those that have been told it is not a free update?
Did they take your reg and confirm your car is affected by the issue?
Thanks for this video got mine updated today and it’s been perfect ever since.
Thank you so much for this video l, just had mine updated today from D302 to the D602 free of charge,
I found Nissan uk not helpful tbh so rang my locals dealers explained l no there's a update and the issues l was having they get me booked in and it done within 48hrs, lm happy
cheers for this video just rang Nissan car booked in for next week for the free update
I got a 2016 qashqai cpl wks ago from my boys showroom, had the same problem got my boy to phone the number and they sent an email to say free software update, went and seen my garage where it needs to be done and although the car is over 6 years old and slightly higher mileage they are doing it free of charge, but so many cars in for it mine is being done on sept 28th cheers m8
Had mine done on Sept 27th and it didn't work so I use the fm stations this radio system is rubbish
Rung that number & the wife Nissan Pulsar qualifies for that free update on the radio/sat nav software 👍👍👍
Thanks so much for this information and clear explanation. Nissan Westway readily did the update for me, for free as you said it should be. Yet to test run it - when the fuel price drops!
Really useful. No issues with mine so far. Thank you bud!
Called the number. Woman says you might be eligible for free update, go to your nearest dealer, but they may charge you me for diagnostic. Lol
Bit of an update for you - looking very good for me so far. I had previously (a year ago) asked my dealer if there was an update, and was told I'd have to pay the diagnostic fee of £90 per hour. Today, I finally decided to give them another go using the information from your video. I emailed them so I could put all the points that you raised across (I'm not great on the phone). The service manager came back to me within an hour asking for my Reg number. I replied and he again came back within minutes asking for my mileage and to confirm my availability to call in to have the work done while I wait! No mention of having to pay! Result (I think). I sent a reply right away stating it was no trouble and I could drop in any time..however that is where the contact ended. I am hopeful he comes back to me tomorrow, but given the time of year, I suspect I may have to wait a while. I'll keep you posted!
Any news mate, I'm in a similar boat. Gonna call around on Monday and hopefully see where it takes me. I'm desperate to get this fixed.
@@tonystrickland67 Yes Tony, I got a reply from the branch manager on Friday to say they can fit me in Friday 7th to get this done free of charge! In fairness to Nissan, once I told them the details of the memo that @the qashqai guy mentions, they have been excellent and couldn't be more helpful. Obviously it's not done yet, but I have no doubt it will be fine. I can't upload a picture here, but if you are on facebook, look for Dan's group and request to join. There is a post in there with a picture of the ACTUAL memo sent to the branch managers. This will do the job for you! To save you time, I'd contact your nearest ACTUAL Nissan dealer, rather than the dealership who sold you the car (unless that actually was Nissan of course. Mine was Arnold Clark and were simply not interested.
@@tonystrickland67 Just another thought Tony, here is the email text that I sent to Nissan. It did the trick for me, so if you're having trouble speaking to people on the phone, try email instead!
"I wonder if you can help me. I contacted this dealership last year regarding an issue I am having with my stereo/in car entertainment system.
A few months after I bought the car late 2019, my stereo developed a fault and continually paused for 30 seconds or so. This happens via Bluetooth, USB, DAB, CD, Sat Nav...everything. Initially this was happening infrequently, but has now got so bad that it happens every 2 or 3 minutes or so (at best)! After this happens 3 or 4 times, they whole system reboots, and continues in this cycle.
When I contacted you last year, I was informed that there was no recalls for the navigation system and that I would need to pay £100 up front for a diagnostic check to locate the fault.
I have looked into this matter again recently, and have now discovered that the fault lies with the current software version on my system. I have contacted Nissan UK regarding this and they have confirmed that there is a problem with Software version D502 (which I have) and D302. These versions were provided provided by Nissan when vehicles were taken in for services. These versions have apparently changed the default location held in the system as Russia! I am told that a memo had been sent round all Dealerships to advise that Nissan were aware of this and that anyone reporting this problem should be offered a free update to version D605.
I am therefore asking if you are willing to offer me a free upgrade to software version D605? The system in my car is virtually rendered useless, and I don't feel that I should be held responsible for paying for a software version that fixes a fault caused by Nissan!".
Good luck!
@@mka70 thank you so much, your help and advice has been amazing. I'm going to do this straight away.
@@tonystrickland67 no probs, but don't thank me....thank Dan. I'd have been just as lost as you without his info/help! 👍
Just got back from taking my 69 plate qashqai to the dealer because the dab would just cut out and every station you pressed would say the same thing “station not available “ they said they updated it as a good will gesture, but if it happens again I can do the update myself because my car can connect to the internet. This is before I seen this video
Thanks for the video it was driving me mad! Mines booked in for a free update on 8th Jan 💪🏼🙌🏼
Thank you very much for this information. Contacted Nissan today and received my confirmation email. 👍🏻
Going to call tomorrow as I don't fancy bricking my wife's car, fingers crossed my local dealer still does it for free.
How did you get on?
@The Qashqai Guy good, booked in for the update in 2 weeks. Free of charge.
Brilliant! Did they put up much resistance?
@The Qashqai Guy not really, but did say a few times further diagnostics may be needed, I just said no thanks, just the update please lol.
Haha of course. Good try from them!
Thanks for your video, I'm gonna call them today for my juke 2014. This mute randomly for 20 second has been so annoying specially when I'm on a call, lol. Nice one mate!
Let me know how you get on bud
@@TheQashqaiGuy I called up the number and they said that I still may have to pay... Here is the email they sent me.
Dear Mr...
Thank you for contacting Nissan Customer Services regarding your Nissan Juke.
We are sorry to hear you are experiencing technical difficulties with your infotainment system.
We recommend that you contact your nearest Nissan dealership to book the vehicle in for a software update, the details of which the dealership should have under a technical bulletin available to them on their systems.
Please ask the dealer directly for a software update related to the DAB system.
Please note that if your vehicle is out of its original manufacturer's warranty, the dealership may require payment before performing the update.
If a software update has previously already been installed on the vehicle relating to the DAB unit you might have to pay for a diagnostic fee as this is a one time update, and issues occurring after the update may be indicative of an unrelated technical issue that would need to be investigated.
For contact details for your local Nissan Dealership, please visit the following link:
www.nissan.co.uk/dealer-locator.html
Please be advised that in the coming days, you will receive an invitation to participate in an online survey where you will be given a chance to have your say and provide feedback on your recent contact with myself here at Nissan Customer Services.
The survey invitation will be sent from Nissan@clive.consumer-live.com and we look forward to hearing from you.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or queries using the contact details below.
Yours sincerely,
Oh my gosh, I forgot to let you know what happen. So sorry. The issue is gone and didn't have to pay a thing. Thank you mate, you are a superstar!. Topman!
@@TheQashqaiGuy is this available for 63 plate juke, only left side working, sounds like it's underwater, on 36,000 miles, many thanks,
Not sure. Sounds more likely to be a speaker issue.
Finally got my DAB working bought a new aerial base unit and fitted it myself and all is good now well happy
Where can I get the Aries base unit as my local Nissan dealer wasn't helpful. Thanks
@@stellaemeh-cochrane6781 Have you had the Ariel base out to check the connection. I bought one of eBay but after checking mine afterwards it would of worked as the bolt wasn’t tight enough so the connecter was not connecting. So having fitted the 2nd hand one I bought thought im sticking with this one. So I have my old one for sale if your interested or ask your Nissan dealer to check the base bolt for you. Hope this helps.
@@thanors1492 Thanks
@@stellaemeh-cochrane6781 If your having the same issue as I was DAB not working this solved the problem.

Thank you so much for this video. I found it very helpful. I have booked my Qashqui in for a software update for free. Many thanks.
All repaired, free of charge, plus a car wash in Ipswich. Many thanks for your help
Well done lad for this video. Not only did you solve my issue, you gave me faith in humanity
Thank you so much done what you said and booked in for a free software update next thurs cheers
Just booked mine in for this update. Dealer was adamant that it needed a diagnostic before the update, rung Nissan and got the bulletin reference. Called the dealer back and they're saying that if it needs the update it is free, if not I have to pay for nothing. Really annoyed, probably worth just going through Nissan straight away. Bulletin reference is TB EL 19/02
Thanks for the info Ollie.
I've just called the number you said .. he then proceeded to tell me that my vin number didn't fall into that category for free update. Even though my car has the same fault as previous years.. he has told me to book it in for a diagnostic check .. lol..
Thank you for your informative videos. Did you know that Nissan UK head offices are actually in France? That's probably the reason for the delay on the phone call. I'm going to try ringing them for the radio issue which has been ongoing since I bought the car. The dealer has never mentioned this update although I have told them about the issue!
Yes mine used to do that quite a lot, but hasn't for some time now
Thank you so much, mate. Problem is all sorted now and didn’t cost me anything. You’re a star.
I would suggest calling your local dealer to ask the question.. nissan uk are trying to get you to pay for diagnostic check by saying your vin falls outside of the limit of this problem..
Thanks a lot mate, jst caller Nissan and will go for a software update, keep up the good work and just subscribed .
You my friend are a Legend!
Thanks for saving me over £100 what my Local Stealership were going to charge me.😉
Stay blessed.
We have endured the same infotainment problem as yourself with our Nissan Pulsar which apparently we learned the Pulsar is a Nissan / Renault cockup venture which I blame Nissan for, and I know they are probably regretting any association with this French Renault company, as all the electronics are in fact the weakest link in an otherwise very nice car. But in their defence Nissan did the update the software for us this did not bring about closure of the issue so Nissan suggested the only course of action open to us was that we send the whole unit back to 'Clarion' in France for repair. The result is that the unit be taken out of the vehicle (leaving a gaping hole) and sent back to France ......so all the time we will be without the unit at a very severe inconvenience to this consumer. It is very poor on several levels that the diagnostic underhandedness goes on and that no one cares about customer satisfaction anymore. But in my experience whenever the French are involved in anything at all you can bet your boots no good will come of it....The Clarion infotainment hardware as fitted to Nissans is a weak component and it has failed prematurely. Furthermore it is cost prohibitive to go down the main dealer route for any kind of repair or replacement. Unfairly we will now have to pay for any repairs ourselves it would seems for economy, and go to a private audio centre to get a replacement infotainment system. Fxxx all of you absolute French tossers very very much indeed. So glad there is a body of water between us.
Thank you, Great info worked a dream
Ive got a Nissan Navara Outlaw ,,the radio suffers the same problem as the Qashqui ,,its been to a nissan dealership who checked out the system and told me ,it was not upgradable and the only way to get the audio system working properly ,would be to replace the whole unit at a cost of £1400 ,,surely if other vehicles can be done ,,why cant mine
