- I always wondered how fast my car could go. Even with a low fuel curve (to small of injectors) I was still able to hit 154 mph. My speedometer only goes to 140 mph. So i had to a program called speed view on my Android phone. From 79 mph to 154 mph took 1.6 miles. Love the rush!!!-)

Thanks for the advise. Its still running stong!! knock on wood, stock trans with shift kit. Running 340 whp.

@walmartramen thanks for the comment, at the time i was running stock fuel injectors. what that means is that with the mods i have done to my car the injectors could not take the fuel curve. My car is dyno tuned for the no cat so i have deleted the o2 sensor right out. I run 93 octane with 14* off timming. All of my performance modification support each other to maximize performance. I know run 65lb injectors from the stock 38lb.
Wish mine was that fast. I'm still stock right now and I hope to start modding mine this summer. How much do you have into the motor so far?
@WOTNeedForSpeed It was fast Here is my mod list: MPS with 3.4 pully, cold air intake with k&n air filter, 180 tstat, 1.9 rocker arm with 90lb valve spring, zzp headers with 3" catless down pipe, custom tune 1.0 pcm, autolite 103 plugs, 65lb injectors, zzp shift kit for harder shifts. Body mods are zzp polly motor mounts, KYB GR2/EXCEL G struts with anti pogo washer and ZZP rear chromaly trailing arms.
thanks I have a new build now XP cam with 130lb valve springs, ZZP CNC Heads, ZZP full stack Intercooler. Being fuelled with 60lb injectors.

Do you have an open intake or cold air intake? Is you exaust stock? No mine is really that loud!!

@getoffmeluckycharms nope, that was drag and lack of power at 4k rpm. He had about 3k rpm left in 3rd when his speedo stopped moving, so he was going 140+. With 42lb injectors, this car could see 160. Nice job w/this build, man.
I think they stock ones are 51psi
GXP is a great sounding car. even with a built trans they still have problems. the 3800 platforms are so cheep to mod and the cars are cheaper to buy. it does not take long for a supercharged 3800 faster then most v8.
@hudwrestler38 The speed limiter is set at 120 mph with most gtp. Not really sure with no mods and the speed limiter removed
@wildman00sax yes cam, intercooler, e85 with supporting mods will make big numbers.

@MrVerzGTP All GTP's 2003 and later have a hardened 4th shaft. The 03's had the updated transmission from the 04+, just didnt have the GenV motor.
im surprised more people dont ask this question but once you hit 145 it puts --- three long dashes on the HUD where your speed would be.
dig your videos man.had a question about where the needle should be on the temp gauge when its at operating temp.just bought an 05 gtp and she gest a tiny bit over the halfway mark but it is hotter than hell out.not sure if shes running too hot or not.i dont see hardly any other vids on here where the needle is that though.never hits the red either

this depends what thermastat you have gtp comes stock with a 210 degree I lowered mine to 180 degree. mine with the 180 degree would be right around half way on hot days. When i got an intercooler whiched block my radiator a little bit it went up about 20 degrees on hot days with sitting traffic. hopes this helps.

Yes the half shaft is part of your axel and your cv joint but we are going no where with this. I have to get back cleaning my FX45 ATI Titan. thanks for the comments.
I have the same motor in my 97 camaro without the supercharged,,still good power stock its around 205 hp,,but w some modification i did i think 240 hp so far,,i cant wait to install the eaton m90 supercharger i already bought,,it will be close to 300 hp 🤗

How much hp can the stock trans handle as a daily? And are these trans easy to rebuild stronger?
Really depends on how you drive it and if you take it to the track. My motor had around 380 wheel HP and stock trans had around 160k on it. Hope this help.
300 whp is probably the highest you should go. I had 340 whp on my stock trans with a zzp shift kit and raised shift points. its still going stong

Know a guy with a similar setup on a regal GS. Time slip says 13.1 on street tires. Sometimes it makes me second guess my gxp buy.
Every time I watch a video all i can here is the supercharger whining, yet in my gtp its no where near that loud, is it just the phones picking up the noise over everything else? I here more engine than whine.
What do you have for mods in this thing? Or is it just the tune?
There all in the discription below. When I recorded this video. I had 1.9 tockers with 90lb springs, headers with catless down pipe 3 inches, cold air intake. With all the basic mods. Yes the car was tuned on a dyno at zzp.
@wildman00sax lol ya spirit of bonneville was a great article. Unloaded dyno is not fair. ;-) turbo sounds like a great idea.
How did you delete your o2 sensor without throwing check engine code and do you have a performance chip on your car
No car pcm is tuned. ZZP pcm 1.0 file. They can pull codes of per your request.

Very reliable cars
Yes you need, downpipe, colder plugs, 180 t-stat and smaller pulley. dont drop pulley until other mods are completed. go to zzperformance web site. this is a great place to start. let me know if you have anymore questions drive fast and take chances!

I have considered twin-charging my Grand Prix. (using turbo and the blower)
Completely eliminates turbo lag, but it costs a bunch.
Idk... I think I'll just stick with the M90 and a custom camshaft.

I have no speed limiter. I have tunned it out of the computer. The car was climbing just really slow after 140 mph. Only thing was holding me back was the mods i had on my car during that time. For the transmision maybe a harding 4th gear would have helped not sure what you mean by a "half shafts" Ive seen Grand Prix run 130 to 150 in the 1/4 mile yes highly moddified but same chacies and body. Not really sure you know what your talking about???

@sfgriffin20 Ya I think to go any faster you have to have lot more power. I think the gears were pretty maxed out. You have to love expressways at 11pm ;-)
Have you tried removing the speed governor to fully max out the power outta that supercharger?
@@WILDWINGSMOFO the car has the governor deleted with the tune. The car need more power or more space to go faster.
@@jmrtinez69 There are a few different supercharger designs to try that differ in performance. Twin Screw Supercharger, Root supercharger which is a bit heavier. Or my personal favorite the centrifugal. Bit more costly but worth the extra buck

On the end it was 60 lb injectors and stock fuel pump.
No not yet. When i went got rain out. If i had to guess i would say it would run 12.8 with street tires. cat is heavy so i could be wrong. I ran a 13.6 with out the XP Cam, Intercooler and ZZP CNC Heads. maybe 12.8 with slicks just dont want to run slicks with stock trans.

@brin3535 My 2 big mods and most expensive are ZZP headers with 3 in downepipe no cat, that coast about $850 installed. 2nd was the 1.9 rockers wtih 90lb springs, ans coast me about $550 installed. There so many other little thing that are cheep but add up. Thats another $700 so total so around $2100 with labor if I could not do it my self or just did not want to. This is over the course of 4 years. Its so fun though to beat some sport cars and to keep up with others for a sedan.

ok I have HD differential. just like all supercharged GM cars. This is a top speed video not a drag racing video. I would only upgrade my axle "half shafts" if i was draging my car with slicks and a build transmision. My car is a GTP I already have the HD differential so both of my axle "half shaft" spin when power is applied. Hope this clears everything up.

for sure the autolites are better for reducing kr 104 are greatr till you get to rockers & headers or intercooler or cam then you want to run autolite 103 or autolite rp103.

These cars are limited to 110. Someone had it tuned to remove the limiter.
yes you are correct this car has been modified and tuned.

@@jrelgran1on1 depends on the year I think I have a 99 gtp with exhaust, pulley , and tune and really slows to barely accelerating anymore past 150-155

These cars -based upon the stock 2.93 GTP gearing- can probably hit 170+mph in 4th.

@dontstreetrace ya that stinks. that is why i always scan my system and get my dyno tuned. That way I know I have no kr, I run a 3.4 pulley with a gen V blower with 0 kr monds are CAI, headers with 3 in downpipe no cat on a stock exhaust. 1.9 rockers with 90 lb springs and supporting mods.

You're dreaming if you think your car would reach ''160-170'' with your mods. After you hit 140 in 4th gear your RPM's stopped moving. I'd say your program was off. There's no way you were going 154 mph.

i have a 2001 gtp that can do that 0-to full out in the same time....your car seems kinda slow ?
depends what you have modified. 97-03 are 300lb lighter then 04+ Gtp. if your car is stock. your not even close to the power this car was at.

+jmrtinez69 no my car isn't stock and yes 300 lbs is a big difference. try doing a 0-100mph video you'll have more torque on the low end

stock is 260 for an '05 gtp. gxp's are 303 stock

why not use the HUD to show the correct speed?
how much gas does your car use and what grade do you use?
This build I was still getting 22 mpg avg. After cam, heads, itercooler and tune I a git 19 mpg average.
