This is crazy. I mean how fast you put it together and how well it drives. Very skilled and talented. I’ve been following since the black car build. This channel should and will have a lot more subscribers.Possibly offer this as a service I know we all wish the GPS and MCs were rear wheel drive
I always wished these were rwd and manual!
10/10 would pay you to do this on my '02 GTP
I have so much respect and love for what you've been able to envision, engineer, and put to the actual road with this project, and it's been such a joy to follow. Please keep creating and innovating, you're doing incredible work keeping a truly underappreciated platform alive, how it should have been designed to begin with.
i clicked this because i despise fwd grandprix and im proud of you
Stop hatin 😂 even stock fwd this car comes with a solid engine and tranny even in the fwd option. Bonnevilles have the rwd version
stop that there then, just keepup the rwd goodness

Best damn sounding grand prix I have ever heard! And i an a huge fan of the grand prix's
BRO THIS IS AWESOME. It would've taken me 6 years and seats would be optional
This is the pinnacle of grand prixs
Wow of all the crackheads I've talked to that's gonna "v8 swap it and make it rwd" someone actually did it. Badass
😂
Smoking rocks will definitely make you very ambitious for about 12 minutes but after that you have to smoke another rock and another rock and another rock, and maybe one more for the road, that you now have to walk on because you're a crackhead, obviously you don't have a driver's license but you'll get yours back right after we smoke this rock and start working on your car. Hey man, do you have a lighter I can use for a minute? 😂
You just made the dream car for us wide body lovers
Insane bro just wow
Facts
Love it. The time, the dedication and documentation. You’re definitely making a name for yourself Tyler.
This project is just incredible !
JDMs worst nightmare. 👀 And I currently own 2 2JZ SC300s, had a 2002 SSEI.
Came together super fast! Looks really good
Brother can’t wait for LS fest to see that beast. So amazing with what you did to it. Like man. How I want my C4 so sound
Killer build! It came together nicely.
Man You are loco for this build. Its awesome
I really like these cars always have. Hope to see you button up everything and take care of that long list of no big deals.
Nice job, your dedication is only surpassed by your imagination; waiting to see what you do next.
Tyler, you got skills my friend!!!
This is dope! I have a 94 Grand Prix that I would love to make a sleeper with a RWD LS swap. Yours is probably the closest I’ll get to seeing the process, definitely checking out the rest of your videos
This is absolutely amazing. I still drive my 06 gxp. Wish I had a lot more motor and rwd. This is right up my alley and I thank you so much for motivating me.
Outstanding build!
Hello Tyler, very good work, it's always nice to see someone that is passionate about what they love especially when it's a car, listen, you are talented at this, nobody else does this and even if they did it was only once. You have plenty enough costumers, I'm sure you realize this by now, I'd be willing to work for you bro
Beautiful build bro
By all means good work 👍. You got me mocking up my 04 Monte Carlo but I'm using a dodge charger k-member+ ind.rear
This is the first video of yours that I have watched so first off AMAZING BUILD!!! 2nd off, in case you didn’t already know, in regards to the engine breaking up (I can not hear it in the video but I will take your word for it) when you boost an engine you need to make the spark plug gap smaller. Maybe that is why it is breaking up. Awesome work, I can’t wait to go back and watch your videos 👍
Great to see Suzie Q roadworthy. I believe the black one is my favorite, with that Detroit locker.
Saw this on an FB Reel or clip and wanted to know more and now here I am This Is Amazing This Is Really What Pontiac Should Have Done With the Grand Prix even the supercharged one was kinda weak compared to this beauty Awesome Work Buddy 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼💯
Wait what I’m gonna have to go back and watch all of this build!
Omg that sound... yup I would be getting tickets daily in this thing. I'm a Ford guy but this thing is insane.
What a build its truly impressive
Thank you!
I like the black car better without a doubt, right down to the tilting tail light for filling gas.
Finally something diffrent
That car is so cool now.
Cool monster…it sounds mean!
Whats the intro song? P.S. love all of the videos shits been insane to see the growth. I speak for everyone when i say keep it up!
Sweet bro
wow.
W!
Its amazing how well so much of the S550 mustang components fit into this generation of Pontiac Gran Prix to convert it into a rear wheel drive car?
Please get this car finished and to LS fest. This is how these cars should’ve been done. V8, rear wheel drive , and a manual transmission. GM dropped the ball with these cars. 😢
It's gonna be there! As long as things go well on the 6.5 hour drive it'll be there!
I like the idea to see a RWD Grand Prix and that's how supposed to be a Grand Prix is
Make a scoop below the bumper like the vette has if you know what i mean or if it can be even done
That's how they should have been built)
Wow! An actual modern Pony car!
Have you weighed her yet?
(Would be awesome to see you work out the suspension to make it handle well).
Haven't yet. Hoping to put it on the scale at LSFest. And the goal here is to make this thing handle on rails. That's why I went with the suspension that I did. Coilovers are one of the next things it'll be getting along with upgraded swaybars, brakes, and poly bushing in due time.
Incredible machine bro do you have a build sheet❤2002 pontiac grand prix gt red
how much did both builds cost all together?
sounds like a BEAST… & both cars are awesome.. some 5%-20% tint all the way around would look SICKNASTY! & i feel like a vented hood would make that monster look MEAN😂 but i’m guessing you want it as lowkey as possible for the sleeper effect 🔥💯 also i LOVE the interior, love it when people put more modernized or just plain cool looking dashes in a completely different car..
If I had to guess I would say each one is in the 10k range without any sort of labor cost obviously. Give or take some. The red car actually ended up with some temporary hood vents. The heat in the engine bay was too much and needed a place to evacuate. TINT IS A MUST haha just haven't gotten there yet. I appreciate the feedback!
That's the way these things SHOULD'VE came from the factory, FWD was the one thing that absolutely sucked about the W-Body platform. Other than that, I believe its one of the best chassis GM has ever designed.
How much would u well one for or do u do these swaps for the people ? And what would be the ball park
Should have came from the factory like this. Ls swap
How did you fab the rear end up to make it rwd?
Nice man, do you have any idea if your method would work with an 04+ body? I love the older ones, but my first/second car was an 06.
It would be the exact same as there is no differences between the two as far as the underbody goes.
@@AutoTechTyler Thanks man. That is comforting to know, as I am actually otw right now to look at an 04 with a blown motor and trans for $400. Figured I’d give it a go with it being so cheap, and I’ve replaced so many 4l60s that I couldn’t fathom putting one back into it
the ultamate w body
What turbo did you go with?
That’s bad ass but what are your IATs?😆
Currently run around 100 degrees or so. Sometimes closer to 90 when rolling down the road. Closer to 115 when at an idle and sitting for a bit.
I’d better see it in Bowling Green!
You will!!! It's happening!
What was the cost of doing this to both cars like what was your budget on each ?
Honestly. Didn't really have a budget of any sort. Just took what it took. If I needed a part I got it.
Hell yes would find a way to keep it quieted down until you floor it. Start trolling people at stop lights.
What is the dash out of
2016+ Camaro. Still needs a lot of finishing work, but it fits pretty well
I’d pay you to do this to my gxp
Do you own the shop you work out of?
No. Gave up my shop 4 years ago when I left Ohio to move to North Carolina to be here for my daughter. Just fortunate enough to be able to use it after hours.
2006 -2008 gxp seats work ?
Yes. The back requires a little modification to go in on a stock car (this took a bit more because of the additional hump), but it is very straightforward.
@AutoTechTyler ok nice , yea I just want the fronts so yay :)
And nonetheless, great work man !! Wish we were closer , I'd have a ball seeing this magic in person
When building an f body camaro/firebird is too easy then you do this 😂 😂
I've got a G8 for when I feel like being a "bolt-on Billy" haha. Doing something like this is far more fun to me though.
The seat position makes it look like you're driving a truck.
Weird. Doesn't feel that way.
@AutoTechTyler you just look high up in the video. Legs almost touching the wheel?
@AutoTechTyler badass GPs though!
are you gonna be a ls fest ?
Yes! Rolling out on Thursday morning to head that way
This might be a annoying statement to you but... why wouldn't you have just bought a GTO?
Simple answer:
Because I didn't want a GTO.
Answer with substance:
Buying a GTO doesn't give me hands on experience in what doing this has. Resourcing, Planning, Welding, Fabricating, Tuning, Electrical, ETC....Being a consumer and just buying a car gives me nothing, but a car. Being a creator and making a car gives me an immense amount of satisfaction, self worth, and experience. Not to mention the amount of self discipline that is required to achieve something like this. Besides, neither car has a single part from a GTO. Heck, the black car has a 9" ford straight axle in it and the red one can use any suspension upgrades that a 15+ mustang can which is great considering how big that platform is compared to the very limited GTO stuff. I could go on and on, but I'd be here typing all day. Maybe I'll just have to make a video about it.
I'm all about home built and budget builds but I couldn't do this. Too many random wires hanging, trim pieces falling or gone, unbolted parts... Etc. I'm not saying it needs to be a show build, just finish what you start before moving on to the next thing.
That's a lot of work, time and money. Not sure you saved anything over just buying the last Gen GTO.
Never said I was trying to save anything. Didn't realize that just buying a gto would magically give me first hand experience in fabrication, welding, tuning, self discipline, and resourcing. Guess I should've realized that gtos sit on s550 suspension, have 5x4.5 bolt pattern, electric power steering, and the plethora of other differences that there are considering that these are grand prixs and a gto is a gto. Silly me. What was I thinking?
Man i felt like i was missing some videos, but looks like youve just been bustin butt to get it done. Props to you man!
I forgot, but what trans are you running?
@mattbusinger643 yeah I kind of skipped over some things. Would have been hard to keep up with all that recording and editing on top of working a full time job and trying to meet the close deadline haha. I used an AR5 5 speed manual from a colorado.
@AutoTechTyler ok i thought you had, but couldnt remember. Doing great man!
GTOs are but ass ugly all the Australian holden vehicles are ugly in my opinion
