Great video. Thanks for sharing. I've done all in mine. Mine is a two tone and I put a wine colored set. Looks great. Three extra mags like yours. Shoots great!
The Girsan MC P35 is a exact Mil-Spec copy of a Browning HP MK III. I have an original FN, Belgium HP and the parts are exactly the same, in fact, I've exchanged parts between them. The Girsan HP is the only copy made which is a perfect clone of a FN HP, Much better than the SA SA35 which uses its own proprietary parts and are not interchangeable with the FN HP. Also, Don't forget to get rid of the trigger disconnect which will reduce your trigger pull by at least 2 lbs and the magazines will fall free.
I got a set of the more molded shaped walnut grips with full checkering included with my gun, and quite like them. They also had a little play but i snugged them a bit tighter without stripping anything and they stay tight now. I also removed the magazine interlock and that really made the trigger much nicer. As far as i know these are 100% parts compatible Hi Powers, not just similar but exact copies, much like the dozens of 1911s on the market not made by Colt.
Suds n Guns. Mike, you need a Belgian style beer to go with that Belgian style P35. I have the beer but not the P35, though I've been looking at those as well. The grips look great!
When did it become common to "upgrade" every firearm? When did the end purchaser become the expert and the designer/manufacturer become incompetent to produce a properly finished pistol? I keep seeing these videos about "upgrading" pistols and I wonder exactly what the average dude thinks he has come up with to BEST the designer and the manufacturer! So it's stuff like, deactivate magazine safeties, or create hair trigger releases that the consumer eats up as a must have when in fact, the OEM pistol, as it comes out the box is just fine! I can understand grips changes, but removing parts to deactivate the magazine safety is at the very least borderline dumb. Replacing parts to lower a 5 pound trigger pull on a DEFENSIVE pistol to 3 pounds is stupid beyond amazing. The human condition under "fight or flight" results in reduction of fine motor coordination - FINGERS, and increased POWER to major muscles such as the biceps. This is WHY so many people who've followed all the internet experts to create a hair trigger in their pistol end up wishing they'd left it alone! Hey, it's YOUR prison sentence, and YOUR liability lawsuit payout, so do as you please.
i carry a PI model with the shorter barrel and i love it. I carry it owb in a paddle lock holster and throw a shirt or hoodie over it. My holster has room for the longer model so i'm only saving a bit of weight i guess but i like it. I removed the mag interlock on mine and made the trigger much better. Match and OPS models have this done already, or it takes about 5 min and two sizes of punch.
@@gunsandsilver probably about 600 so far. I have been buying 2x 50rd boxes of a different brand each time. No failures so far. FMJ, JHP, flat point, regular pressure, +p, steel, brass, eats it all so far. I removed the mag interlock after 100 rds. Definitely worth the 5-10min it took. Trigger is smooth as butter and breaks below 4lbs.
Thanks for the video. The wood grips look really good on there, makes it look more "old school", I like it.

Grips look great.
I did a similar change to the grips on my MC P35. Totally worth it.
I prefer the Hogue wrap around rubber grip for a Hipower, it just makes the pistol feel like it was made for my hand.

7 months later. How are you liking the gun? I'm thinking about getting this for a EDC.
