  • The digital readout available with the Multi Router is incredibly accurate. + or _ .002 ! When dealing with that level of precision even a slight movement when tightening the vertical lock shows on the read out.
Here's a way to lock the setting in to within .002" ( often closer ) - easily and every time.

Thanks for the tips. I bought the digital readout a few months ago and have been disappointed with it doing just as you demonstrate. My solution so far was to just guess what I thought it was going to move and set it that amount and then let it creep when I locked it. It was pretty good but not always spot on, on my first try. Your idea of gently locking the axis. with its knob and then bringing the stop collars in is a very predictable solution. I had actually been meaning to email woodpecker and ask them about the issue. Looks like you took care of that answer.

You're welcome. It bugged me for the longest time too. I see that Woodpeckers redesigned the micro-adjust. Is your MR an older pre-Woodpeckers model? If it is - did you have to remove the post to install the micro-adjust?

Can't help but wonder if the treaded bolt push/bite directly onto to round slide-bar, if so then that is probably the reason for the trouble.🤔

Do you know if a Wixey DRO or other brand would work? For 2 pro scales Its at $900 vs 150 for 2 others

The Wixey works but is not nearly as accurate. But - for most work the Wixey is accurate enough.
