I see what you are doing but there are surely simpler ways of making welding rod holder and I would save that nice drill chuck for something more worthy.

Why are you wearing gloves? And why is using a drill chuck to hold the welding rod better than a normal rod holder? Everytime I change to a new rod I need the chuck key - how is that better? This is a secret that I don't want to know.

And wouldn't that drill head be awkwardly heavy causing you to dip in your puddle or excessive sticking.. finally, it would arc out everywhere! Excelente idea, personalmente le coloqué un broquero pequeño, menos peso y mejor maniobrabilidad. Pero claro que si te sobra uno como a él, hay que reutilizarlo...👍

Buena la idea. Pero es un desperdicio usar un mandril para sostener una varilla de soldar, a no ser de que sea un mandril viejo. Pero es buena la idea para soldar manejando menos peso al hacer el arco Saludos
I also had the same question. Where did he get the power supply from? If the power supply is coming from the common electrical installation, due to the high amperage that will be induced in the circuit the main circuit breaker will not be able to handle it. I believe there should be a dedicated power supply for the welding equipment.

Electrode pliers are insulated to reduce accidental arcing, this set up could create more problems with the chuck exposed so much.
