EDIT: All right guys, this took me like 6 hours (in researching, learning, typing and etc), but, here are all the steps to achieve all shown in the video, I can happily say now that my journey in blender has just begun, I'm enjoing it and that I'm not a total noob anymore. Lol.
I hope this help you all too.
Me, a total noob: '' One-minute tutorial, alright! this gonna be good!
Geek: ''Control R and...
tries command ... [Ctrl+r doesn't work]
Me: ''1 sec and I'm already screwed...
(When you're using a tool you can RMB(Right Mouse Button) any time before finishing using it to cancel it, this is very useful, don't forget about it.)
*Hold (Ctrl + Tab)* , then press the number of the Mode you want to pick shown in the pie menu(6 to Edit mode) or select it with the cursor (Edit Mode), and release
Alt + Z to toggle Xray to see throw the solid, (or just Z to show pie menu and choose other viewport shading options)
Ctrl + R to add a ring (Now it works)
1 to choose vertex (2 to edges and 3 to faces)
with chosen vertexes *S to Scale* then Y to scale just in that axis (same works with X and Z, and, holding Shift you do it on that plane)
3 to select faces and hold shift to add selection by clicking on the center points shown of each face
0:05
Numpad1 to change the view to Y plane on the viewport (Numpad3 to X, 7 to Z top, 9 to Z bottom, 5 toggles orthogonal and perspective, and the other to navigate. Also works holding Alt and dragging mouse whell)
Use *R to rotate* and *G to grab* and move (just like with Scale, here works the Y, X, Z, and hold Shift commands too)
Ctrl + click RMB to extrude and regularly use S, R, and G to construct the branches of your tree
0:11
*Ctrl + Tab, 4 or choose in pie menu to go Object mode*
Shift + A to open add menu
choose your image
*Ctrl + Tab(+6), return to Edit Mode*
Ctrl + R to add rings (We meet again! Now I'm the master!! lmao)
add more branches
(0:20)
*Ctrl + Tab (+4) and go to Object Mode*
Shift + A, Image, Images as Planes (if the option is not there, go to Edit, Preferences, Addons and type 'Images as Planes' in the searchbox, check the option and close, now you'll find the option in the menu)
*Ctrl + Tab back to Edit Mode*
Numpad7 to go top view, align the 'root' of the branch to the plane's gizmo (orange dot)
Ctrl + R to activate 'loop cuts' (now we even know its name) point close to an edge to the cut preview to appears from that edge, roll the mouse wheel to add or rest cuts and then click, now moving the mouse you adjust its location, click
3 to select faces, drag LMB to multi select, or hold shift to add selections, remember to click on the face's center point to add it
Shift + K to Knife tool and make the cuts, when finished press enter
1 to vertex and G to add variation
0:29
*change to Object mode, select the tree, and go back to Edit mode*
(Now you know how to do it, right? Hold Ctrl + Tab, then #, or hover on and release)
Click on the green triangle on the lower right panel (Object data properties), Vertex Groups, there's a + sign there, press it to create a group, now go to the viewport
C to circle selection and use mouse wheel to adjust its radius, or W to cycle selection until getting the circle (both are different),
1 to vertex, now, hold shift and hover the branches to select all its vertexes
go to groups again and click the Assign button
*Ctrl + Tab, (+7) or Select Weight Paint mode*
tweaking, red shows full weight(1) and blue minimum weight(0), Hold RMB to show brush options
Go again to the lower right panel (Properties panel) and choose particles, +, hair and what he says 0:32
(if for some reason, your branch's transform is not right, go back to your object branch in edit mode and try to adjust the rotation)
0:45
*Ctrl + PgUp/PgDown to toggle Workplaces until Shading workspace*
in the second tab change from Object to World
delete the background node
shift + A, Texture, Environment texture, Open, choose your file, and now plug the node to Surface plug (get free samples on Polyhaven website on its hdris section )
Z on viewport, Rendered
on Render properties tab in the lower right panel (Properties panel) choose 'Cycles' in Render Engine, Film, then you can click on transparency
*Ctrl + Tab to Object mode*
select the branch
*Ctrl + PgUp/PgDown until Shading workspace*
now change it back from World to Object
Shift + A and pick and connect from the list the nodes he describes
now select the tree and then New in the middle bar to create its basic texture nodes
Shift + A, Texture, Image_texture, Open, pick the image from the downloaded file in the description
(this next step is maybe not necesary, but this is the way to achieve it)
go to Main menu, Edit, Preferences, Addons, Searchbar: 'node wrangler', and click the checkbox
Back to Shading workspace
Inside the Image_texture node Ctrl + Shift + LMB to create 'viewer node'
0:54
*Ctrl + PgUp/PgDown to UV Editing WorkSpace*
Ctrl + Tab to change to Edit mode,
1 and select all the vertexes, make sure you're selecting all of them
F3 and in the search bar 'smart UV,' click the only option, and Ok
select all vertexes in the UV editor and S to scale
*Ctrl + PgUp/PgDown to Shading WorkSpace*
Click your Image_texture node and Shift + D to clone some more to
add the other textures Open on each and select from the downloded file
Shift + A, Color, MixRGB to spawn the shown 'Multi node' It's not said with which texture is mixed, though
Ctrl + PgUp/PgDown to Layout
Ctrl + Tab + 4 to Object mode
Z + 8 to set Viewport Shading in Render
there you go.
@Kirby Clawson-Honeyman Glad it helps someone else! :)
"MixRGB to spawn the shown 'Multi node' It's not said which texture..." My best guess is he used the color map twice and multiplied it together, at least that has the best-looking results for me. Nice breakdown!

okay I tried to use youtube subtitles to write out whats been said. but they're rubbish so I dictated my own from what I could hear from the video:
hit CTRL+R and cut the default cube in half.
scale up the middle and scale on the sides.
with the top two faces selected, start CTRL+R clicking to extrude up your tree, scaling every once in a while.
here we can split our tree by extruding right with one branch and left with the other.
if you feel the need for some reference then add an image background.
add some more loop cuts to make faces for more branches.
branch out here, branch out there and you've got a pretty decent looking tree.
using the images as planes add on import the branch texture.
align the origin point up at the start of the branch and add in four loop cuts.
cut around that branch now and delete the excess faces.
add some variation to that flat plan.
create a new vertex group for that tree select the outer branches and assign.
use weight paint mode for tweaking a new particly system.
choose hair and make that ten, choose advanced.
under render choose object, object is that branch.
select the vertex group we made.
use rotation and global Z randomize to pull those branches down.
some random phase and random scale and 300 branches.
now with an HDR loaded, choose transparent for the branch material
and add shader and a translucent shader connecting it to the bottom
connect up the colour and we have light passing through our tree.
add a bark texture for the tree
unwrap with U smart UV project
scale and move these up and in the specular and normal maps
and we have a tree!
your a lifesaver

Re-topology.
In 3D modelling topology is how the vertices and edges in a mesh are organised which is important for things like efficient animation, for example if you look at a VFX breakdown of an animated movie, when it gets to a characters head and then displays the wireframe of the mesh you'll notice a ring of faces around the eyes, mouth etc.
Re-topology is the process of re-organizing the verts and edges for efficiency in animation and keeping the model free of ngons, from what I understand it's also used to reduce poly counts whilst retaining detail in models used in video games as to make sure the games are nicely optimized whilst still looking good.

So basically in a minute I learned the overarching concept of how someone that’s skilled with blender could create this rather quickly, record the process and speed it up to where the largely incomprehensible but entertaining summary lasts 1 minute.
Yes! :)
Ian Hubert does it better tho. and first
I think he's trying to do a tutorial in the style of Royal Skies LLC's 30 second Blender tutorials. The problem is, making a tree is a very basic task, so you would only be watching a tutorial if you wanted to get better at making a tree, in which case a high level overview would be quite useless. Something like setting up wrist drivers for a character rig, on the other hand, only require a brief explanation, as there isn't really a faster workflow or better method for doing said task.
I like 1 minute tuts. Some much info crammed in such a short space of time.

Hey, blender community calm down. We have time enough. no need to rush.
Absolutely fantastic. Finally a quick valuable video tutorial with a lot of info in compressed version.
Thanks. I don't even know what a vertex is yesterday and after watching this video I am almost done developing my Elden Ring clone.
Am i the only one who learn tons of thing in this video that is supposed to be a meme?
Both
It's a meme?
Yes you snowflake
It's not a meme, it's for learning how to make a low poly tree in a 1 minute tutorial. Fantastic if you're in a hurry and want to make a tree.
This is a tutorial, not a meme. Just without filler content.
fast and solid. the best tutorial ever. :D
Me who just downloaded blender for the first time and youtube immediately recommends this...
me right now
Oh man! Doing it in 1 minute is crazy fast but with the pause button I was able to follow along. :) THANKS!
And I thought trees were hard :o
Me looking at the thumbnail: bullshit, that's not low poly
Me a minute later: oh.
Five minute crafts: “guys our projects only take five minutes”
*Half an hour later* “how do I fit the coke can into the hole in the plastic bin?”
One minute to make a tree
3 hours of locating where buttons are and figuring out what part you screwed up
Short tutorials are designed for intermediate and advanced Blender users.
@@Soulsphere001 yeah, I've been trying to find good tutorials for trees like this but its pretty hard to follow along when you don't know the features and controls very well

There's a tree generator addon, which I have never used, if you don't mind using that. Hopefully this helps:

Otherwise, you pretty much just create a stump shape by adding a vertical loop cut and shaping it, then keep extruding the upper faces, of the stump, mostly upward, getting a bit smaller as you go up. You just keep extruding out various branches and use loop cuts when needed. So you pretty much just need to learn to use the loop cut tool, the extrude tool, and you probably already know how to move, rotate, and scale faces I hope. The rest of it is a bit more complicated.
@@Soulsphere001 woah tysm, this helped a lot!

He's already laughing at us 2 seconds into the video.
Very Good Tutorial. Very Fast, and a little hard to follow. But I followed it to make a different type of tree, and it worked great. Thank you! Very cool :)
